Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Apr 23, 2017 – April 29, 2017:

This week starts on Sunday with a Moon / Neptune conjunction in dreamy, idealistic Pisces, while Venus begins its slow transit through the last (anaretic) degree of Pisces as it moves toward its ingress into Aries.

With respect to the Moon in Pisces, this is a very feminine and rather other-worldly Moon placement, made all the more so by the fact that it’s in balsamic phase and by its conjunction to Neptune later in the day.

The Moon / Neptune conjunction in Pisces is loving, compassionate, creative and highly impressionable. It can increase psychic awareness and make you more susceptible to outside influences. It’s mystical and ethereal, but can also be incredibly naive.

The Mercury / Saturn trine Saturn on Monday can see you getting a lot accomplished in the workplace. It’s a good time to make plans and to assess progress that’s already been made. This is an incredibly disciplined and productive aspect, so if you want to get something done now is the time to do it.

Mercury / Saturn is focused and rational. It’s good for ironing out details and expressing yourself in a clear and concise way. It is also good for serious discussions: you can go a long ways toward clearing up uncertainties and getting everyone on the same page.

Remember that Mercury and Mars are in mutual reception (as are Venus and Jupiter) during this time. These mutual receptions act to strengthen the natural influences of the planets involved, uniting them together in collaboration.

The New Moon on Wednesday takes place at 6° Taurus 27. This occurs at 12:16 pm (UT) or 8:16am EDT. The Sabian Symbol for this degree is: “The woman of Samaria comes to draw water from Jacob’s well.

This symbol, according to Sabian Symbol expert Lynda Hill, speaks of “breaking down the barriers and cultural issues that divide people and accepting others for who they are, regardless of social structures and limitations.”

It speaks of giving and receiving, feeling included, transcending preconceived notions regarding interpersonal differences, and gaining a richer understanding of what unites us all.

As New Moons always represent new beginnings and opportunities to start anew, this one — in Taurus — presents opportunities for us to think about our value systems, the things that we hold near and dear, which as most of us know by now are not always “things.”

We can put good use to this energy by thinking about what is most meaningful for us, and what we can do to cultivate it during this time.

Mercury retrogrades back to conjunct Uranus on Friday. This is a recurrence of the same aspect that occurred (while Mercury was still direct) in March. This is high energy aspect — especially in Aries — that encourages us embrace our own unique contributions to the world and to stand up for what we believe in. It’s bold and defiant. It can be radical and idiosyncratic. It’s a mover and a shaker, a champion for the underdog and an advocate for personal freedom and independence.

As Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury, this transit brings flashes of insight and brilliance to the table. This is a time of tapping into your higher-consciousness. And you may be doing it without even realizing it. You might hear yourself speaking and wonder: “where did that come from?” Or hear something that you’ve heard hundreds of times before and realize that NOW it makes sense.

Mercury / Uranus in Aries is an incredibly powerful combination. It’s progressive, innovative and pioneering, Don’t waste it vegging out in front of the tv. Express your ideas, speak your truth, learn something new and push your mind to its limits.

Also on Friday. the Nodes retrograde back into Leo / Aquarius. for the first time in approximately 19 years. This shifts the collective focus from one of service to others to focus on self expression (Leo) and individuation (Aquarius).

Venus also moves back into Aries Friday. Venus is in detriment in Aries, as Aries is the sign opposite Venus’ natural ruler, Libra. While there are said to be some disadvantages to having a planet in detriment — usually due to societal norms and expectations rather than any deficit in the archetype itself — there are some wonderful benefits as well.

Venus in Aries is able to put its heart on the line and go “all in” when it comes to love. It’s ardent and passionate about matters of the heart and sees itself as a bit of a maverick. This is a great time to put yourself out there, without fear. It’s a time for taking risks in love and for opening yourself up to new opportunities.

We end the week on Saturday with the asteroid Ceres moving into Gemini. Ceres in Gemini is good for sharing your thoughts, dreams, fears and emotions with others. It speaks of bonding through words and ideas. It’s good for expressing your needs to those you care about and being receptive and supportive in kind.

That’s it for this week, see you next week!

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Apr 16, 2017 – April 22, 2017:

We’ve got a busy week ahead with one planet turning retrograde, another planet turning direct and three planets changing signs. We start the week on Sunday, with Venus having just changed direction — from retrograde to direct motion — still stationary and still closely squaring Saturn. This is a complex configuration, with Venus strengthened by its exaltation in Pisces and mutual reception with Jupiter, but weakened by its square to Saturn.

At the same time, Mars is sextiling Chiron. This aspect can soften some of the more somber Venus  / Saturn energy, which is always a good thing. It may make it a little easier to acknowledge other people’s points of view and to see value in where they’re coming from.

On Monday, Venus sextiles Mars just as the Sun trines Saturn. The Venus / Mars aspect is likely to bring thoughts of love and romance to the forefront. This transit is all about going with the flow and staying in sync with your loved ones. It’s good for attracting new people into your life and for collaborating rather than putting up resistance.

The Sun trine Saturn aspect is more about prepping and planning and getting things accomplished. It’s a good time to make plans and to assess progress that’s already been made. This aspect is both incredibly disciplined and productive, so if you want to get something done now is the time to do it.

It’s focused, rational, ambitious and goal-oriented. And this is serious business: you may not feel like putting your party hat on over these two days, but you can get a lot accomplished. Mars may throw a wrench in some of those plans on Tuesday, when it joins in and inconjuncts Saturn. The inconjunct aspect can force you to re-evaluate your goals and make adjustments. But shake off any doubts you may have as this aspect can (and should) manifest as a minor irritant rather than a major crisis.

The Sun moves into Taurus on Wednesday. The Sun in Taurus speaks of getting in touch with nature and the earth, and with taking care of “business.” This is a good time for thinking about making, saving and investing money. It’s also a good time for taking care of your physical body and for indulging all five senses.

While the Sun was in Aries you may have been so focused on getting things done that you didn’t have time to stop and smell the flowers. The Sun in Taurus not only slows you down enough to do just that, it also heightens your ability to appreciate and enjoy the prospect.

The Sun and Mercury conjunct on Thursday and together they trine the North Node (and simultaneously sextile the South Node). This is a bit of a “ships passing in the night” transit as they form this conjunction with the Sun having just moved into Taurus (in direct motion, as always) and Mercury leaving Taurus behind as in retrogrades back into Aries. The Sun / Mercury conjunction — in any sign —  is what’s known as combust (or in this case cazimi). This is also known as “at the heart of the Sun” which is said to strengthen and energize Mercury’s influence.

Also on Thursday, Pluto goes stationary retrograde.  Pluto is retrograde for around 6 months out of every year, and is reminiscent of its mythological counterpart in which Persephone goes down into the Underworld. This is a time for turning inward and developing your own internal power, rather than unleashing it on the outer world. It’s a time for concentrating your efforts toward mastering your own darker energies. It’s a time for regeneration and transformation that lasts for several months, until the cycle repeats itself.

Mars moves into Gemini on Friday, and forms a mutual reception with Mercury. This combination is good for taking a stand, saying what’s on your mind, being bold and brave in your communications with others, and putting yourself out there. It’s better at talking than listening and is not so good at tact and diplomacy so keep that in mind in your interactions with others.

The Mars in Gemini / Mercury in Aries pairing encourages you to be flexible and adaptable, and to find a positive outlet for your restless or impatient impulses. You may be bursting with ideas and an urgency to communicate them to others, but watch out for a tendency to go off on wild tangents or to lose interest before you get any of them fully off the ground.

Mars also squares the Nodes on Friday, a state that is known in classical astrology as “at the bendings.” This configuration is said to be fated in some way. It is known for producing crises, and as Mars represents action, drive and motivation, it can manifest as a scattered energies or impulsive drives to get things moving with little interest in following through.

Venus is back to squaring Saturn again though — also on Friday. This is a recurrence of the same transit that took place last week while Venus was still retrograde. In this case since it’s now moving direct there’s likely to be some resolution. Saturn square Venus can have you confronting your own inadequacies. It can magnify self-consciousness and inhibitions, leaving you feeling uncertain about your own self-worth. This can lead to misunderstandings or an overly sensitive response to an external event — such as a harsh word or criticism that hurts your feelings.

In general this is not the best time to “put yourself out there” as this aspect tends to magnify your own insecurities and leave you reeling with self-doubt. Fortunately we end the week on a more pleasant note, with Venus back at its degree of exaltation and the Moon moving in to conjunct Neptune on Saturday. As you wind down your week, you may be thinking more along the lines of compassion, forgiveness and unconditional love, courtesy of this lineup of planets in Pisces.

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Apr 9, 2017 – April 15, 2017:

We start the week with two planets (the Sun and Venus) both at the exact degree of their exaltations. We also have a Full Moon, a planet turning retrograde (Mercury) and a planet turning direct (Venus)  this week.

Starting on Monday, with the Sun and Venus at their respective degrees of exaltation, this is a relatively rare occurrence. By themselves they’re not all that uncommon. The Sun crosses this degree once a year and Venus does the same about one every 225 days. But to happen together at the same time — the last time was over 60 years ago — is significant. Exaltation is determined by a mathematical formula that determines the sign’s “purest” astrological position.  In this case it’s 19° Aries for the Sun and 27° Pisces for Venus.

If you’re wanting to start something new, this is a good time to do it. Remember that there are other planetary transits in play and this combination won’t trump them. Still it’s a fortuitous pairing that can produce favorable results.

Speaking of planetary transits, Mercury goes stationary retrograde, also on Monday. Did we just say it’s a good time to start something new? On second thought, remember to dot your i’s and cross your t’s, as Mercury retrograde promises that things will not go as planned. We all know that Mercury retrograde means things are likely to go haywire — especially all things related to communications, communications devices and local travel — like automobiles, train and bus schedules and so on.

Communications tend to run amok, plans get turned on their head, communications devices (computers, electronics, cell-phones, etc) and written communications (emails, texts, letters, etc.) get lost or misconstrued. It’s not a good time to sign contracts or legal documents and not a good time to purchase Mercury-ruled items (automobiles, televisions, computers and so on).

Another intense Monday transit involves a Sun / Pluto square in cardinal (Aries and Capricorn) signs. This aspect can be extremely volatile. It can erupt into power struggles or confrontations with others. Intense anger (rage), trust issues and overreactions are all potential manifestations of this transit, which may be exacerbated by the misunderstanding that arise due to Mercury retrograde.

April’s Full Moon takes place at 21° Libra 32, at 11:08 pm (PDT) on Tuesday or 6:08am UT on Wednesday. This is called the Full Pink Moon in Native American traditions, in honor of early Spring’s first blooms.

The Aries Full Moon emphasizes the Aries / Libra polarity’s natural association with relationships of all types, with Aries representing “the Self” and Libra representing “the Other.” The theme here is figuring out where certain people fit in your life without focusing so much on one type of relationship so that you invalidate the other.

This Full Moon is part of t-square configuration, loosely conjuncting Jupiter, squaring Pluto and opposing Uranus and the Sun.

With Pluto at the apex, this Full Moon shines its light on some of the turmoil we’re seeing in the world around us — and because it’s in Libra — encourages us to make peace. The Sabian Symbol for this degree may have us thinking about specific world leaders: “Two people who have to give an accounting for their acts before the tribunal of society.”

The Sun conjuncts Uranus on Thursday, further intensifying this volatile, combative t-square energy. On its own, this aspect is good for expressing yourself in ways that may not be conventional but can inspire tolerance and acceptance in others.

As the Sun is tied to your life force, will and self-expression, while Uranus is tied to thinking outside the box, these planets joining together can be incredibly progressive and innovative. This aspect encourages you to march to the beat of your own drum and express your own unique individuality in ways that inspire rather than shock.

But remember it’s part of a very intense and unsettling t-square with other strong forces all vying for control. At the very least you want to look at your own contributions to whatever conflicts you’re personally involved in, and do your part to restore the peace.

Moving onto Saturday, Venus turns stationary direct — still at its degree of exaltation (27° Pisces). The Sabian Symbol for this degree is appropriately enough: “A fertile garden under the full moon.”  With Venus moving forward again, you might start to notice a shift in energy related to all things Venusian — especially love and romance. Relationships that started during this period — as well as romantic attractions that were sparked — will be seen in a whole new light.

As Venus moves forward you may be asking yourself whether your relationships will do the same. During the retrograde cycle, you may have been tying up loose ends in a relationship that was on its last legs, or you may have been compelled to reach out and reconnect with a lover from your past. But now you’re moving your energy away from the past and back toward the present and future. You’ll be thinking about which direction you want to take your relationships from this point forward as well.

Where does Venus fall in your natal chart and what houses does it rule? (you may need to speak with an astrologer if you’re unsure about that). Venus rules two signs — Taurus and Libra — and the houses with these signs on the cusp will be activated by its change in direction. This will add other dimension to the impact of this transit and how it will affect you personally.

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Apr 2, 2017 – April 8, 2017:

We start this week on Sunday with Mercury trining the North Node. This aspect is all about developing a comfortable rapport with others. It’s about generating a meeting of the minds and communing with those who are on the same page. As the North and South Nodes are always in opposition, the North Node trines Mercury at the same time it sextiles the South Node.

Think of this as a relatively painless give and take, especially as these are both in Earth signs (Mercury in Taurus and the Node in Virgo). There will be an interesting recurrence of this transit in a few weeks, when both of them retrograde back into Fire signs and trine again (on May 19). But for now see it as a good time for mellow conversations and cooperation with others.

Venus retrogrades back into Pisces on Monday (where it will remain until April 28th). Venus is exalted in Pisces, meaning that it is an honored or revered placement. As Neptune — the modern ruler of Pisces — is the higher octave of Venus, this placement is said to be in essential dignity.

Venus in Pisces is sensitive, romantic and altruistic. It’s highly imaginative and naturally creative, with a penchant for fantasy or escapism. This transit can represent a time of feeling closer to others, craving a deep and meaningful connection to people from all walks of life. It’s a time of increased compassion and sensitivity, of seeing how connected we all are to one another and how unimportant our differences really are.

Take some time while Venus is in Pisces to get in touch with your softer, gentler side. See the beauty all around you — in nature, in the music and the arts, and in friends, loved ones and strangers. Let your imagination take flight and open your heart to those who may need little more than a kind word or a shoulder to lean on.

It trines the Moon on Tuesday, with both of these bodies being dignified (Venus exalted in Pisces and the Moon in Cancer, the sign it rules). But the Moon goes void of course for a couple hours later in the day until it moves into Leo.

The void of course Moon is a common occurrence; it marks the period of time between the Moon’s last aspect in one sign and its ingress into the next. Any aspects involving the Moon are temporary are likely to fly by almost imperceptibly. But that doesn’t mean this period of time will be uneventful. There are still always transits in play: planets interacting with one another and blending or communicating their unique energies.

On Wednesday there’s an inconjunct between Jupiter and Mars, which can briefly see you questioning the way you go about getting what you want. The inconjunct aspect calls for adjustments, and in this case it’s going to mean finding a middle ground between your desire to make things happen (Mars) and your tendency to rely on sheer luck (Jupiter).

Mars trines Pluto on Thursday, just as Saturn goes stationary direct. Starting with the Mars / Pluto trine: persistence pays off with this transit, especially anything you’re passionate about or that is tied to fulfilling your deepest, most intimate desires. You may be a bit obsessive about pursuing your goals, but the trine makes this process a bit more workable as it brings the Martian drive and determination into the mix.

Past meets present with Saturn turning retrograde begins moving backwards through Sagittarius. moving backwards through this sector. You may be thinking about what (and whom) you want to retain in your life vs. what (or whom) you want to leave behind. You may feel the need to step back and regroup. This can mean ironing out the kinks in a union that’s faltering or bringing someone new in.

Saturn turning retrograde can make things seem a whole lot bleaker than they are. And because this change in direction is more about going back and fixing things than it is about putting them to rest, you’d be much better served to take some time to figure out what you need rather than rushing to judgment. Depending on where this transit is occurring in your natal chart, it can apply do areas that are in need of resolution.

If it’s moving through your relationship sector for example, you may need to think about what you can do to get things back on the right track. This is especially important on Friday, as the ongoing Jupiter / Pluto opposition finally becomes exact. The Jupiter / Pluto aspect has been in effect for some time, but the partile aspect increase its intensity.

This transit can manifest as conflicts or power struggles. You may find yourself dealing with people who are self-righteous, judgmental or even fanatical about their belief systems. You may also have to look at areas that you yourself have been rigid and unwilling to listen to another’s point of view. This is not the time to get into heated political or philosophical debates you will find that the line is drawn firmly in the sand on both sides.

Relationship conflicts continue into the weekend as Venus squares Saturn on Saturday. This configuration delivers a healthy dose of hard cold reality (Saturn) to the overly-idealistic Venus archetype. It can throw a wrench into your plans or act as a wakeup call, especially if you’ve been riding along on fumes rather than paying attention to the road.

It can see you confronting your own inadequacies. It can magnify self-consciousness and inhibitions, leaving you feeling uncertain about your own self-worth. This can lead to misunderstandings or an overly sensitive response to an external event — such as a harsh word or criticism that hurts your feelings. This is not the best time to “put yourself out there” as the combination of these two aspects can magnify your own insecurities and leave you reeling with self-doubt.

Try to use this transit to wind down and not make any rash decisions, especially regarding your relationships. As Mercury will be going retrograde before the weekend is through (on Sunday), you’ll want to keep in mind that decisions made now are likely to get turned upside down in the coming days.

ARIES: Three of Cups

This month — with several planets moving in and out of your sign — you’re hopefully going to be feeling more fully in your element. This should be a time of renewed opportunities to connect (or reconnect) with loved ones.

The Three of Cups — this version from the wonderful Morgan Greer Tarot — is a joyful and festive card that emphasizes partying and celebrating over work and responsibilities. It also emphasizes friends and casual relationships over serious romantic entanglements.

It refers to being surrounded by like-minded people and putting your differences aside. It’s about coming together and joining forces with those who have your best interests at heart.

The focus is on merriment and gaiety rather than monotony and drudgery. It’s on interacting and networking with others, allowing you to push aside some of your more serious concerns — at least for the time being.

It represents people gathering together to connect, interact and socialize. It’s a happy, joyful energy that can manifest as a party or celebration, or it could be as simple as a girls’ night out.

Pay attention to new people coming into your life too. You could find yourself developing friendships with people that seem random at first but can turn into important connections over time.

No matter where the people in your life have come from this month — no matter what your connection or history or relationship with them is — the Three of Cups is a card of companionship and camaraderie. It serves as a reminder that there’s always something to be grateful for, and always someone to share your gratitude with.
Queen of Pentacles

TAURUS: Queen of Pentacles

Now is the time to be thinking about ways to establish security for yourself and your loved ones. This means financial security first and foremost, but ties into other areas of your life as well.

Building a solid foundation in your relationships for example. Making sure you’re where you need to be with your education and professional credentials. Fortifying your relationships with loved ones, family and friends.

The Queen of Pentacles — this version from the Crystal Tarot — is all about security and longevity. She appreciates the finer things in life and is not afraid to work for them. But she also wants to see returns on her efforts — material and otherwise.

This Queen is not a pushover. She stands firm in her convictions and does what it takes to achieve her goals. As a strong, solid practical business woman, she’s probably weighed all her options before she’s made a move. She could be a person in your life or it could refer to qualities that you need to incorporate into your own personality.

The Queen of Pentacles is practical and efficient. She also tends to move a little more slowly, for two reasons. One, she knows from experience that practical choices are more likely to pay off than get rich schemes in the end. And Two, she wants to savor the life she’s built rather than scrambling to earn her next buck without taking the time to appreciate her gains.

She wants to be ready for the future. Notice the fall colors and foliage in this card. You could say she’s getting ready for a long cold winter and is not about to face it ill-prepared.

With Mars moving through your sign right now, you want to be thinking about your long-term goals and what you might need to do to bring them to fruition. It may require you to make some short-term sacrifices. But what you gain in return — through hard work, discipline and patience — will make it all worthwhile in the end.

Seven of PentaclesGEMINI: Seven of Pentacles

With Mercury (your ruler) going retrograde this month, you may find yourself looking back over the last several months and thinking about how far you’ve come.

The Seven of Pentacles — this version from the Animism Tarot —  indicates a need to pause and reflect: on plans that were made and detours that have been taken along the way.

It’s about getting an overview of progress that’s been made, and evaluating the sidetracks and setbacks that may have caused you to rethink your goals.

You may feel like you’re at a cross-roads, questioning whether you want to continue with something as originally planned or consider changing direction altogether. The Seven of Pentacles says it’s time to take a breather and rethink where you’re heading: you probably wont proceed exactly as planned but that’s because you’re wiser and have more information to work with now.

The peacock is this card is perched high in the branches of a tree where she can get a clear overview of what’s taking place below. The wintry backdrop and the icicles accumulating on the branches tell you that not much is happening down there.

There’s a crispness and stillness in the air that makes it easier to clear your head and get some altitude as you reflect on our situation and reassess your goals. Perhaps taking the time to pause and reflect is exactly what is needed for you to see your best way forward.

With Mercury moving back and forth between two signs (Taurus and Aries) this month, there will need to be adjustments made. But it’s at this moment in time — as you find yourself on the precipice between where you’ve come from and where you’re headed — that you’re better equipped than ever to plan your next move.

The WandererCANCER: The Fool

This month may see you experiencing a renewed passion for travel, adventure and personal expansion.

The Wanderer card (the Fool, in traditional decks) fits in beautifully with this dynamic, as it relates to being open to new experiences without regard for where they may ultimately lead.

In this version — from the beautiful Wildwood Tarot — we see a young woman striding toward the edge of a cliff, barefoot and unburdened by material possessions. Her arms are wide open and her gait is purposeful, even knowing that the path before her is partially obscured by clouds.

There’s a waterfall on the other side and a shimmering rainbow bridge leading to it, but if you look closely you can also see the rocky terrain far below. A fall would be treacherous but somehow you know she’s not going to fall. Her faith and her optimism and her willingness to seize the day will see her safely to the other side.

There may be some clouds obscuring a part of your path. And you you may need to surrender your fears enough to allow yourself to trust in the process. But this is the essence of the Wanderer card. It’s about taking a leap of faith and being open to going wherever the moment takes you.

You want to think about these concepts, especially as they apply to opportunities that present themselves this month. It’s not the time to fret about details or focus on what could possibly go wrong.

You do want to keep your wits about you, and unlike the woman in this card you do want to watch your step. But immersing yourself fully in the journey — rather than thinking too hard or focusing too much on the destination — can open up a whole new world of possibilities for you that you won’t want to miss.

Wheel of FortuneLEO: Wheel of Fortune

This month you want to be conscious of the decisions you make, as well as the words and emotions you express  to communicate your needs. With the North Node moving back into your sign — for the first time in 19 years — what you put out there can have far reaching consequences, particularly in the way you express yourself to others.

The North Node, like the Wheel of Fortune, refers to karma, fate and destiny. Reaping and sewing. The Law of Attraction. The winds of change. It’s a reminder that all we send out comes back to us in some form or another. It may not be today; it may be months or years or even lifetimes away.

This version of the card — from the Tarot of Trees — depicts this energy beautifully, with the changing seasons moving around the perimeter of the wheel. It tells you that it’s time to let go of painful associationsin order to make room for new ones. This can be an important step toward clearing away the debris in your life, especially if you’re holding onto something (or someone) that no longer serves you.

The Wheel of Fortune is all about life’s natural cycles and rhythms. It can bring exciting new opportunities or challenges you have to face. There are as many ups and downs as there are highs and lows. One day you’re “on top of the world” and the next you’re clawing your way back up from the bottom. Remember that as one one door closes, another one opens — just as the wheel turns and the seasons change.

The Nodal transit speaks of finding ways to voice your intentions while at the same time putting disappointments and heartaches behind you. You’ll have to look at where the actions you’ve taken and the decisions you’ve made have led you to the here and now. In doing so, and in choosing to participate in your own destiny, you can determine where this next chapter leads.

VIRGO: Page of Wands

This month your ruler (Mercury) retrogrades back into Aries, prompting you to go back and wash away the miscommunications, frustrations and slowness you may have been experiencing over the last several weeks.

Mercury in Aries is fast, direct, impatient and does not have time to think through all the in’s and out’s of everything. It’s a time about “thinking on your feet”, coming up with answers from the “top of your head” and generally listening to yourself in every which way that matters… even the wrong ways.

The Page of Wands is a card of news. Now it may be a letter, email, phone call you are waiting for which is of importance to you and heralds forth a new idea or path in your life. Whatever it is Wands denote that it happens quickly and with the Page of Wands you may wish to think more carefully about what you will do with the information when it does come.

Look a the way the rabbit in this card — from the Joie de Vivre Tarot — walks with a certain attitude that it cares for nothing else but the importance of itself and its own ideas. It is not worried about where it is going or where it has come from. What matters most is what it is thinking and where these thoughts can take it.

There is no shyness around as it “blows its own trumpet” as if to say I know what I’m doing and no one can tell me otherwise. The little bird flying overhead holds a letter in its beak but is it flying off to deliver news to someone else or is it delivering news to the rabbit? Good question and one you may wish to think over as you may be so caught up in your own thought (think Mercury in Aries, which will be in mutual reception with Mars after the 20th) that you’re not separating what you are doing versus what you need to be doing.

It is not by accident that this rabbit is wearing a joker’s suit, blowing on a trumpet with bells ringing from its boots. Perhaps a little less fanfare and ears pricked higher would serve you better than focusing only on what’s immediately around you, as there does seem to be a way forward if you look at what is in front of you and not let your mind take you off course.

Ten of CupsLibra: Ten of Cups

This month, with your ruler (Venus) retrograding back into Pisces, you’re likely to be reconnecting with people who’ve been important in your life and who have helped you along the way.

It’s going to be a time for counting your blessings and for expressing gratitude for all life you have created. This includes the people you choose to surround yourself with: the loved ones and family members who’ve been such an important part of it.

Venus in Pisces is not only in the sign of its exaltation but it’s also in mutual reception with Jupiter, emphasizing the concepts of love, gratitude, harmony and grace that you allow to flow through you.

The Ten of Cups — this version from the Anna K. Tarot — is a card of serenity, contentment and fulfillment. This ties in beautifully with the Venus in Pisces and mutual reception with Jupiter. Sometimes it’s a marriage card, a joining together with someone else who shares your happiness. Sometimes it’s an accomplishment card — coming to a point where you’re able to count your blessings and express contentment with your present circumstances.

This extends well beyond financial or material security. It’s more about family, lasting friendships and a comfort — in your home and your community — surrounded by people you love. You want to align yourself with a vibration of gratitude, as the Ten of Cups speaks of not only getting what you’ve “asked” for (via the principles of law of attraction) but also being thankful for all that you’ve received.

This is not the time to think about what is lacking in your life but rather what makes it complete. And while you don’t want to be resting on your laurels, it’s important to acknowledge those who are most important to you and who keep your cup continuously full.

four of swordsScorpio: Four of Swords

What is it that’s been weighing so heavily on your mind that you find yourself needing to step back a bit to clear your head and recharge your batteries?

The Four of Swords — this version from the Dreaming Way Tarot — is all about “taking a breather,” either from all the noise and distractions around you or the intrusive thoughts that have prevented you from calming your mind.

Swords represent thoughts and ideas and Fours are all related to some kind of structure. Sometimes that structure is positive — as in forming a concrete plan — and sometimes it can be limiting, as in feeling boxed in or restrained.

In this case the woman looks pensive. She’s half-heartedly chosen one of the four swords but it’s clear this isn’t her final selection; she’s not sure what she wants so she holds back on deciding until she’s a little more certain.

This is the essence of the Four of Swords: it encourages you to ponder, reflect and meditate rather than “act.” It speaks of detaching from the whirlwind of activity around you and observe rather than participate.

You might also be thinking of getting away from it all. You could be feeling the strains of mundane chores and responsibilities; or maybe you just long to escape from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life. The Four of Swords encourages you to disengage from all the noise and distractions around you and to find your strength through recovery. It could be as simple as getting out of town for the weekend to relax and recharge your batteries. And it could be as profound as going on a life-altering pilgrimage or spiritual retreat.

If you can get away then by all means do it! But if you can’t there are other ways to restore your sanity. Meditation, breathwork, self-imposed silence, etc. — any one of these can help you to de-stress and restore your equilibrium. While you may feel pulled in several different directions this month, you’d be best served to stay calm and carry on, rather than let yourself fall out of balance.

Eight of WandsSAGITTARIUS: Eight of Wands

You may have so much on your plate this month that it feels like “rush rush rush” for you as you scramble to get things accomplished.

The Eight of Wands — this version from the beautiful Crystal Visions Tarot — is all about action, progress and momentum. It’s about getting things done and making things happen.

It may be as simple as ticking off all the little things on your to-do list this month, and it may be as significant as making great headway on an important project.

While it might feel to you like there just aren’t enough hours in the day, you could be surprised when the month is over to see how much you really accomplished.

The Eight of Wands is a high energy card and also sometimes refers to travel. In that respect it relates to being literally and physically on the go. Are you planning a weekend getaway? Or making larger-scale plans for grand adventure? Use this extra energy to make preparations for your trip.

Look at the Eight Unicorns galloping down the canyon on this card. They’re raring to go and although not all of them are moving in the same direction, they’ all appear to know exactly where they’re going.

Your ruling planet (Jupiter) is retrograde, but it’s also been involved for some time in a high-energy configuration with both Uranus and Pluto. This aspect will not only see you chomping at the bit to get things moving in other areas of your life. Your career for example or higher education.

Now is the time to make sure your get up and go actually goes somewhere — whether that means tackling a mountain of chores or heading off on an exciting new adventure. Take some time to plan ahead but don’t let yourself get caught up in trivial matters. This card speaks more of energy, action and motivation than it does fretting over minor details.

Six of Swords

CAPRICORN: Six of Swords

You may be on the verge of making important changes in your life, and in doing so will have to think about what you’re taking with you and what you need to leave behind.

This doesn’t necessarily mean material things; in fact that’s rarely what it means. It’s more about attitudes and belief systems, as well as a life you may have built and dreams you may have dreamed that are no longer capable of sustaining you.

The Six of Swords is all about transitions, and in most decks (including this one) it’s about leaving something painful behind in an effort to move toward “the light.”

You may be moving, changing jobs, ending a relationship, or releasing some baggage that’s been holding you back. Although this card refers to change more than it does to endings, there are elements of “clearing the slate” that are a necessary part of this process.

In this version of the card — from the Deviant Moon Tarot — we see the swords used practically and efficiently in the structure of a hot air balloon that is floating toward a better life. The balloon itself emanates from the woman’s head, a nice reference to the importance of using one’s head to overcome obstacles. The city burns behind her. The face on the front of the vessel is serene, and while the woman herself may be sad, she’s not looking back.

This is the message behind the Six of Swords. You may not be where you want to be just yet, but you’re moving in the right direction. It also provides clarity and perspective. We may see things we don’t want to see — or admit to ourselves — but it’s that kind of clarity that motivates us toward change.

Take some time to reflect on where you are and where you want to be heading. This is the first step, courtesy of the Six of Swords, toward manifesting your goals.

Knight of WandsAQUARIUS: Knight of Wands

This month you want to work on gathering up the courage and confidence that are needed to go after your goals.

You may be ready to chase after a ream you’d set aside because you lacked the time, energy or resources to follow it n the past. You may be reading to pursue an interest that’s been calling out to you that’s no longer possible to resist. Or you may be thinking about something (or someone) you’re passionate about that you’re only now in a position to pursue.

The Knight of Wands — this version from the Arcus Arcanum Tarot — encourages you to move past your fears and go after your dreams with the attitude that nothing can stand in your way.

You don’t want to waiver or second-guess yourself; you want to grab onto opportunities that present themselves without a moment’s hesitation.

If this is someone in your life, you will know him by his larger-than-life personality. You’ll know him by his act-first / think-later approach to life. And while he may not be off fighting battles, you’ll know that if he were, he’d come out on top.

He may he here to teach you the importance of embracing some of these qualities yourself. If so keep in mind the importance of making preparations and pacing yourself so you don’t run out of steam.

The Knight of Wands tends to run on adrenalin and has been known to lose interest in projects once they become routine. But overall he’s here to teach you how to challenge yourself to set your goals in motion. If you temper them with a enough discipline and perseverance, you just may see them come to fruition.

Pisces: Ace of Cups

With Venus retrograding back into your sign this month — in mutual reception with one of your rulers, Jupiter — you should find yourself getting more in touch with your emotions, and perhaps feeling a little more compassionate, receptive and intuitive — all Piscean keywords.

The Ace of Cups — from the Shadowscapes Tarot — depicts this energy beautifully. You can see ripples emanating from the base of the chalice that rests at the bottom of the card.

Waves of movement and energy flow from the mouth of the chalice as well, as small schools of fish and fairies swim along in the currents.

The Ace of Cups is a card of emotional abundance and fulfillment. It’s “love” in its purest form: the compassionate, unconditional, all-encompassing form of love that is the essence of the Pisces archetype.

Venus in Pisces speaks of immersing yourself into these realms. There’s a pull toward increased creativity, inspiration and intuition as well. If there’s a downside to this energy, it’s the tendency to lack motivation and purpose. Too much “going with the flow” can see you being carried aimlessly along with life’s currents.

You want to keep this is mind when it comes to making decisions and asserting your needs to others. This is a time of giving and receiving: and you can derive as much pleasure through giving as you can through expressing gratitude for all that you receive.

The Ace of Cups represents a bottomless and reflective pool of love, compassion and emotional expression. You want to open your heart and let that love flow both from you and to you — while at the same time keeping your boundaries clearly defined.

AriesAries — March 21-April 19: All eyes are on your sign this month and for good reason. The planets paying you a visit just now are sure to be catching your attention. If your partner has any planets in Aries then I’m sure they are firing up your attention too! Let’s hope its in a good way. Firstly we still have the Venus retrograde occurring and whilst it starts the month in your sign it quickly reverts back into Pisces on the 4th. Not a good time for you to be making clear headed decisions when it comes to your love life. Leave those for later on. Mercury is also going to turn retrograde this month and yes, you guessed it, will be in full retrograde mode in your sign by the 21st, which is just as the Sun moves into your sign for the beginning of a new astrological year. Moon in your love area on 10th, 11th and 12th is a time to baton down the hatches so Mercury turning retrograde doesn’t cause you more trouble.

Moon in Aries April 24, 25, 26

Taurus

Taurus — April 20-May 20: Mars is in your sign till the 22nd giving you a burst of energy and generally just shaking everything up for you. Don’t get too caught up in the little things this month because you have bigger things to worry about, such as a Mercury retrograde occurring in your sign. This occurs from the 9th and whilst it moves back into Aries after the 21st you will not be off the hook when it comes to all the mix ups that can accompany a Mercury retrograde. You can see why it would be a good idea to keep a low profile and just how quickly things could get out of hand for you compliments of Mars and Mercury. On the bright side Venus is still in a position to put your love life and friendships back on track. Moon in your relationship area on 12th, 13th and 14th occurs Just as Venus is turning direct, making April an interesting month for Taureans all round.

Moon in Taurus April 26, 27, 28

GeminiGemini — May 21-June 21: Mercury, your ruling planet, will retrograde in an area of your chart from the 9th through to the 21st that may have you not knowing what direction you should take. To be on the safe side don’t make any major decisions which should help you in not making the wrong choice. Venus has been helping you with your work life of late and you may find that something from your past that you had been hoping for resurfaces in the form of good news regarding your career. The high energy of Mars enters your sign on the 22nd. This will be the time you will wish to put your plans into action. At the same time Mercury retrogrades into your area of friends and friendships. You never know where this may lead you. The possibility of a partnership with a friend is high. Moon in your love area 15th, 16th and 17th, just as Venus turns direct means you need to be careful with what you say.

Moon in Gemini April 1, 2, 28, 29, 30

CancerCancer — June 22-July 23: As Venus moves into Pisces from the 4th to the 28th so too does a shift occur in your emotions. Venus is retrograde till the 15th and the ease of the trine from both your Sun sign to Venus should give you a smooth ride when it comes to love this month. You will be able to navigate through what you do and don’t want alongside seeing the funny side of life. This in itself can make any changes that you are wishing for easier. Mercury’s retrograde in your area of friends and friendships, alongside your career later in the month, may see you sidestepping through some awkward conversations. Hey at least your love life should be ok! Not to mention that inner confidence glowing beneath the surface of your thoughts. Moon in your love are 17th, 18th and 19th is a time for you to really set forth with what you want in your relationship.

Moon in Cancer April 3, 4, 5

LeoLeo — July 24-August 23: Insights and secrets can be uncovered for you this month as Venus retrogrades through an area of your chart that lifts the lid on things you may have been missing in the past. Prepare to be surprised with what you uncover and also ready to act upon it. Harsh aspects from both Mercury, which is retrograde from the 9th, and Mars mean you don’t want to be waiting around too long to take action, otherwise fate may step in and take action for you whether it’s the type of action you want or not. This is the month for you to be in charge of your own destiny. Moon in your relationship area on the 20th and 21st arrives just as Mercury retrogrades back into Aries and Mars moves into Gemini. Expect a shift in energy and situations at this time and make it work for you!

Moon in Leo April 5, 6, 7

VirgoVirgo —  August 24-September 22: The good news for you in April is that Venus retrogrades right back in to your relationship area. This means that you have a good chance of putting any wrongs to rights if you have been having problems in your love life. It also means there is a high likelihood that someone from your past will make a reappearance in your life in an effort to reignite a relationship. Of course, with Mercury turning retrograde this month you could expect a few hiccups but Mercury is also in a nice aspect to your sign and it may not be till after the 21st when it moves in to Aries that you are affected in a negative way. At this time you may be missing something but not sure what it is. Therefore, wait till you have all the facts at hand before making important decisions. Moon in your relationship area on 22nd, 23rd and 24th allows for you to take stock of where you stand and what you want.

Moon in Virgo April 7, 8, 9

LibraLibra — September 23-October 22: How’s your love life? April should be an interest month for you as the Venus retrograde continues alongside Mercury also turning retrograde. Both these planets, at various times of the month, will move through your love and relationship area where you will have to think and act quickly to keep things balanced. To top it off, come month’s end, Uranus will join Mercury and at this time you might with to count to 10 before you open your mouth. You never know what may come out of it and it may be something you end up spending quite a bit of time putting to rights. Full moon in your own sign on the 11th should shine a light on what you need to do to put your relationship back in order. Problem is, with the energy of the planets around you at this time you cannot afford a wrong move.

Moon in Libra April 10, 11, 12

ScorpioScorpio — October 23-November 22: Many things are stirring in your love and relationship area this month, not least of all a Mercury retrograde! For this reason you need to keep your wits about you when it comes to communication with your partner because misunderstandings can come crashing down on you pretty quickly with a Mercury retrograde in your relationship area. Adding insult to injury for you in this regard is Mars also transiting your love area. Now this can be a good thing if you are wanting to spice up your love life but it can also cause tension and friction. You need to guard against jumping in all guns blazing when it comes to what you assume is correct because with Mercury and Mars visiting this area of your chart together things can go wrong, and not in a small way. Moon in your love area 26th, 27th and 28th sees you out of the woods from these other transits and would be a good time to make any amends that need making.

Moon in Scorpio April 12, 13, 14

Sagittarius

Sagittarius — November 23-December 20: The Mercury retrograde, which occurs from the 9th onward could cause a few problems when it comes to your work life. It is in this area of your chart until the 21st, during which time you would be well advised to let matters at work not become too intense. If there is something there that is bothering you, best let it slide by for the time being. After the 21st, when Mercury is still retrograde but also in a good position with your sign would be the time to get down and take care of things that you have been putting off. The Venus retrograde may have caused you a few headaches when it comes to your home life but rest assured these will easily be overcome and may actually be of benefit to you further down the road. The arrival of Mars in your love area on 22nd comes just in time for you to take full advantage of asserting yourself. The moon is in your love and relationship sector on 1st, 2nd, 28th, 29th and 30th.

Moon in Sagittarius April 15, 16, 17

CapricornCapricorn — December 21-January 20: Communication in relationships is top of the agenda for you this month as Venus retrograde moves in to an area of your chart that should have your in top form when it comes to verbalizing your needs within a relationship. Use this for all it’s worth because Mercury will turn retrograde on the 9th. Whilst this can still work in your favor insofar as it will allow you to solidify any plans you are hatching you don’t particularly want to be pushing your luck in being clearly heard during a Mercury retrograde. Timing is everything for you in April. Mars moves into your work area after the 22nd and even though you may think this works in your favor ie you can bury your head in work and just wait for problems to blow over, it would be a bad idea for you to do so this month. Moon in your love area 3rd, 4th and 5th is a great time to get the ball in motion for ironing out relationship kinks.

Moon in Capricorn April 17, 18, 19

AquariusAquarius — January 21-February 19: Security and stability in your emotions and love life are top of your list of priorities in April. This is, not least of all, due to Venus retrograding in this area of your chart. Other planets impacting on you and a need to keep your life in balance is Mercury turning retrograde in an area of your chart that is linked to family and home life. If you don’t have security and stability at home then you will feel the affects of this in other areas of your life. After the 21st, when Mercury moves into your communication area, you can let loose with what you wish to say to certain people but before then it may be best to keep quiet. Mars moves into a nice trine to your sign on the 21st thereby giving you the impetus to get moving and take action. Moon in your love area on 5th, 6th and 7th heralding the change in energy which is about to occur due to Mercury retrograde.

Moon in Aquarius April 20, 21

PiscesPisces — February 20-March 20:

Venus is retrograde in your sign this month which should be doing wonders for your love life! However, Mercury and Mars may be countering any positives Venus retrograde is giving you. Both Mercury and Mars are in your area of communication and with the amount of energy Mars in this area can push onto Mercury then you may find yourself with a bad case of “foot in mouth” where you start saying things you do not actually mean to be discussing. This can change after the 21st when both planets change signs but you may be living with the repercussions of what has been said for a while. Therefore, reign in anything that you are thinking to say that you cannot back up. A Venus retrograde, in your relationship area, comes around rarely. No use spoiling it by putting your foot in your mouth and saying something to undo your love life. Moon in your relationship area 7th, 8th and 9th occurs just before Mercury turns retrograde so use these dates to your advantage.

Moon in Pisces April 22, 23, 24

Forecast

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Mar 26, 2017 –  April 1, 2017:

This week starts on Sunday with a both a strong feminine emphasis (Venus separating from its inferior conjunction to the Sun with the Moon in Pisces) and a strong masculine emphasis (Mercury and Uranus coming together in Aries).

Starting with Venus transit, it has now moved behind the Sun and left its evening star placement where it will remain hidden behind the Sun’s rays until it re-emerges (as a morning star) on March 31st.

There’s a bit of a dichotomy here between the Venus / Moon / Neptune transits and the Mercury / Uranus conjunction that takes place on that same day.

Mars sextiles Neptune on Monday as the Moon moves further into Pisces and conjuncts Chiron. The Moon / Chiron conjunction is sensitive, creative and idealistic. You may find that your intuition and psychic perceptions are off the charts during this time.

The Mars / Neptune aspect can see you tuned into the music of the spheres like never before. This aspect reminds you that you are one with the Universe and everyone in it. It’s creative and compassionate and can inspire you to become a better person.

On Tuesday we have a New Moon at 7° Aries 37. This takes place Tuesday the 28th at 2:57 am UT (or Monday the 27th at 10:57pm EDT).

The Sabian Symbol for this degree is: “A woman’s hat with streamers blown by the east wind.” This symbol implies opportunities for a spiritual awakening; being led toward Eastern philosophies or religions. It can also signify a desire to let the day take you where it will, which is very fitting of the Aries archetype.

New Moons bring opportunities to plant seeds that we can then coax to maturity over the duration of the (28-day) lunar cycle. This marks a time during which the focus should be on exploring the many possibilities before you.

As Aries is the sign associated with fresh starts and new beginnings this should be a time for taking a leap of faith and going after your heart’s desires. It’s about facing your fears, taking risks and trying something new.

Moving onto Wednesday, we have a Mercury / Saturn trine, which can see you getting a lot accomplished in the workplace.

Speaking of serious discussions, these can get a lot more intense on Thursday, when the ongoing Jupiter / Pluto square becomes exact. This aspect has been moving into position for some time, and can manifest as conflicts or power struggles.

You may find yourself dealing with people who are self-righteous, judgmental or even fanatical about their belief systems. You may also have to look at areas that you yourself have been rigid and unwilling to listen to another’s point of view. This is not the time to get into heated political or philosophical debates, as you will find that the line is drawn firmly in the sand on both sides.

Things should calm down though by Friday when Mercury moves into Taurus, joining Mars and the Moon. Mercury in Taurus is patient, practical and serene. It can be slow and methodical, mainly because it doesn’t see the point in getting its feathers ruffled over things that are likely to iron themselves out over time.

Also on Friday, Venus rises heliacally. This means it reappears on the Eastern horizon as a morning star. With Venus in Aries, it’s still in mutual reception with Mars and expressing as a more masculine energy than it was when it slipped under the Sun’s rays at the beginning of the week.

As it moves through the final (or first — depending on how you look at it) degree of Aries on Saturday, before it retrogrades back into Pisces, we have the unique experience of seeing Venus in mutual reception with one planet (Mars) on one day and a different planet (Jupiter) the next.

You may feel like you have a foot in two worlds: the passionate, dynamic masculine Mars world and the amorous, romantic, feminine Venus world. While this will likely be a temporary state, one thing’s for sure: the week ends with an intensified focus on love, romance and relationships all taking center stage.

That’s it for this week, see you next week!
