Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Mar 19, 2017 – Mar 25, 2017:

This week we see Venus beginning its slow descent from the evening sky into the darkness, Pluto conjuncting its own South Node, and the Sun moving into Aries, marking the onset of the Vernal Equinox (and first day of Spring). This is true for those in the Northern Hemisphere. For those in Southern latitudes it’s exactly the opposite, ie the Autumnal Equinox and the first day of Fall.

With respect to the Venus departure, starting on Sunday it will begin to be hidden from view.  It will remain out of sight (obscured by the Sun’s rays) until it rises heliacally, on March 31st. While Venus is still officially an evening (or Venus Hesperus) star —  setting behind the Sun — it will become increasingly difficult (and then impossible) to view until the end of the month.

As Venus is currently retrograde, we may experience this as our romantic interests similarly retreating or fading away altogether. It can manifest as waning interests on our end, or if can express as seeing our partners pulling away. Another common occurrence with the Venus retrograde is for lovers from the past to resurface during this time.

There isn’t a lot of research on the Pluto / South Node conjunction, as this is a rare occurrence (happening only every 248 yrs). And because Pluto orbital period is so long, it’s an ongoing transit that will span several months (and has been in place — by orb) for the last several months. Still it’s worth noting that this transit coincides with a great deal of political (Capricorn) upheaval (Pluto) in our world.

The Nodes are karmic in nature, with the South Node representing past-life (reaping what we sew) karma. As Pluto is the planet of “mass destruction” — among other things, this transit is one to watch, as it is relevant to our times.

Moving onto Monday, the Sun moves into Aries at 10:28am (UT), marking the onset of the first day of Spring. The Sun is exalted in Aries, meaning that it is expresses its purest essence in this sign. The Sun in Aries signals a time to come alive and see the world through brand new eyes. It’s a time for embracing life fully, without fear or trepidation.

The Equinoxes are also tied to need to find balance in our lives, with the days and nights of relatively equal lengths. The days get longer (in the Northern latitudes) as the nights get shorter from here on out. It indicates a time to reflect on what areas in our own lives are out of harmony and work toward bringing them back into sync.

Starting on Tuesday, and for the next few weeks, everything aside from Jupiter will be what classical astrologers referred to as “besieged.” This means that all other planets (including the Moon) are caught between Saturn and Mars.

Although some classical astrologers specify this as valid only between Mars applying to Saturn, it may be important to watch how this manifests in the world around us. In this scenario, Jupiter could act as the saving grace, prompting us to look at ways in which we need to reevaluate our views on fairness, equality and ideological differences (Jupiter retrograde in Libra).

The Sun inconjuncts the North Node (thus automatically semi-sextiling the South Node) on Wednesday. This transit can see you questioning who you are and what changes you need to make in this lifetime as part of your own evolutionary process. It can manifest as an existential crisis — however momentary that may be. It encourages you to compare the Self you’re showing to the outer world with the Self you envision deep within.

The Aries Sun and Virgo Node may be at odds with one another, as these signs are naturally inconjunct — meaning that they do not share any common dignity, element or triplicity. But they do have certain things in common: like autonomy and self-sufficiency. Therefore this aspect can be put to good use by focusing on how these bodies can work together. It’s a good time to take personal inventory and see what you can do to make improvements in yourself.

On Friday, Mercury squares Pluto and opposes Jupiter, setting up a t-square between these three planets. This is a tense, “draw a line in the sand” aspect that can manifest as conflict with others over political, ideological or philosophical differences and views.

The Mercury / Pluto portion of this aspect is associated with intrusive thoughts, anxieties and fears. It can feel like your mind is playing tricks on you, convincing you that something is real based on rudimentary “facts.” The Jupiter / Pluto aspect can be downright fanatical, while the Mercury / Jupiter opposition can see projecting unrealistic expectations onto others. It can manifest as reading too much into what other people say or promising way more than you can deliver.

This is not the time to try to force your views onto others, although you’re likely to see them trying to force theirs onto you. You’re not going to convince anyone to see your side of an argument and are only likely to incite combative behavior.

You also want to be careful not to let your imagination run away with you during this time. The Mercury / Pluto square can see you becoming increasingly paranoid, while the Mercury Jupiter opposition can see you magnifying things and blowing them all out of proportion, potentially to your own detriment.

Moderation is always the key with oppositions (especially those involving planetary pairs as in the case with Mercury and Jupiter). You want to find the middle ground here: in this case between what you believe in (Jupiter) and how you express those beliefs to others (Mercury).

Venus makes its inferior conjunction (at 5° Aries) to the Sun on Saturday. While Venus is debilitated in Aries, it’s in mutual reception with Mars which somewhat strengthens its position. This is especially useful in the context of relationship, as the Sun / Venus conjunction emphasizes love, affection, beauty and romance, while the Venus / Mars reception emphasizes the urge to merge.

As Venus is retrograding back to the Sun it may bring someone back in from your past. If this is the case keep in mind that it may not last. It may be a “last-gasp” reconnection or it may just be about tying up loose ends. But it’s still a good time to tell those you love exactly how you feel.

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Mar 12, 2017 – Mar 18, 2017:

As we turn our clocks forward and tie up the last few days of winter here in the Northern latitudes, we begin our week on Sunday with Venus and Mars in mutual reception, a mutable t-square involving Saturn, Moon and Mercury, and a Full Moon in Virgo.

Starting with Venus and Mars, these planets are both currently debilitated (by sign) but bolstered by their mutual reception. Venus is not comfortable in Aries and Mars is not happy in Taurus. But the mutual reception says they’re “holding hands” and figuring out what it feels like to be in one another’s skins.

This has particular social relevance with respect to our expanding views on the traditional meanings of these two archetypes: Venus as feminine and Mars as masculine, as well as our broadening views on the concept of love (also Venus and Mars). With Venus still retrograde and moving between the sign it’s least comfortable in (Aries) and the sign it expresses its purest essence (Pisces), a lot of progress can be made.

This month’s Full Moon — also known as the Full Sap Moon (or Full Worm Moon) in Native American traditions, is at 22° Virgo 53.

The Sabian Symbol for this degree is: “A lion-tamer rushes fearlessly into the circus arena.” This is an interesting reference given that the month of March is said to “come in like a Lion and go out like a Lamb.”

This Symbol seems to allude to current social and political trends, and may be made all the more relevant by the t-square to Saturn and Mercury.

The Virgo Full Moon references a need to look more closely at the ways in which we have been of service, to ourselves and in our communities. In what ways have are we striving to make the world a better place, through the combination of self-sacrifice and self-improvement? This is the essence of the Pisces / Virgo polarity.

Saturn square Mercury is a bit of a “rain on your parade” aspect that can see us viewing the glass as more half-empty than half-full.  Especially since Mercury is also debilitated (by sign) in wistful, melancholy Pisces.

It can manifest as boredom or apathy, especially as it becomes part of a t-square involving the Moon (with Saturn at the apex) by mid-afternoon.  If you find yourself asking “what’s the use?” or “why even bother?” try to shift your thinking, as this transit can see you wallowing in your own misery.

Fortunately this is only temporary as Mercury moves into Aries and Mars trines the North Node on Monday. Mercury in Aries is good for taking a stand, saying what’s on your mind, being bold and brave in your communications with others, and putting yourself out there. It’s better at talking than listening and is not so good at tact and diplomacy so keep that in mind in your interactions with others.

The Mars / North Node aspect automatically sextiles the South Node, as the Moon’s Nodes are always polar opposites. This aspect is great for working with others on shared goals and ideals. It speaks of cooperation and collaboration, putting partnership or group needs ahead of individual ones.

Tuesday’s transits are relatively uneventful, other than a Moon / Venus opposition in the early morning hours. As this lunar transits are fleeting this aspect should ease by without notice, especially given the strength of other aspects in play. Keep in mind that Venus is weakened by sign and is also currently retrograde, while the Moon is strengthened by its Full (illuminated) state as well as its impending conjunction to Jupiter.

On Wednesday, the Sun conjuncts Chiron, just as Mercury inconjuncts the North Node. The Sun / Chiron conjunction is about recognizing your ability to guide and assist others through your own life experiences. It can signify a greater ability to put yourself in someone else’s shoes and feel what they feel (or draw on your own memories of times when you felt victimized or marginalized in some way). Because of this, you may be more compassionate toward other people’s weaknesses and help them overcome them — even as you struggle to overcome your own.

The Mercury / North Node aspect can see you feeling at odds between what you see as your life’s purpose (the North Node) and where you are with respect to the adjustments that need to made in order to fulfill it. In what ways are you getting in your way and interfering with your progress?

As Mercury is tied to communications and ideas, chances are good you’re going to have to start walking the walk rather than just talking the talk. Think about which of your ideas are outdated or are not aligned with what you perceive as your calling. Because this is a waxing (6th house) aspect, the emphasis should be on working with what you have and on what changes you need to make, rather than actually eliminating anything.

The Libra Moon conjuncts Jupiter and opposes Uranus also in the early morning hours on Wednesday. The Moon / Jupiter conjunction is made all the more prominent because these are the only two bodies that are not “besieged” by Mars and Saturn for the next three weeks (after the 20th, all  but Jupiter will be besieged). Moon and Jupiter joining together in Libra invites us to to be more objective and to think about fairness and equality on a grander scale.

Fast forward to Friday and a Sun / Saturn square, which can see us winding the work week down and not a moment too soon. This transit can be somewhat sobering, and can leave you feeling physically and mentally exhausted, but only if you let it. You may not have a lot of energy by the end of the day, and may feel like doing nothing more than heading home to decompress.

Take the rest of the day off if you can and get some rest. These transits may not be good for socializing or partying, but they are good for paying attention to your body and heeding your inner voice.

Venus conjuncts Mercury in Aries on Saturday. This is a relatively common conjunction (though not necessarily in Aries). And it’s a recurrence of an early conjunction with Mercury retrograde and Venus direct (and now it’s the other way around). Venus / Mercury aspects are all about harmonious interactions with others.

This combination is known for being friendly and sociable. It’s more interested in getting along than it is anything else. As such it’s a good time for connecting with loved ones and getting out and socializing with others.

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Mar 5, 2017 – Mar 11, 2017:

We start this week with Mercury and Venus in semi-sextile and the Moon moving into first quarter phase (at 15° Gemini 04′) on Sunday.  The first quarter Moon is closely aspecting both Mercury and Venus, with a square to the former and a sextile to the latter.

As Moon transits are fleeting, these transits will probably only produce short-lived effects. They can manifest as minor irritants and misunderstandings (the square to Mercury), but can also bring a desire to resolve differences and get back on the same page (the sextile to Venus) at the same time.

Also on Sunday we have a nice Mars / Saturn trine. Mars is in its own sign (Aries) until Friday while Saturn is presently strengthened by being in its own terms. This is a good time to take plans that have been thoroughly and painstakingly finessed (Saturn) and put them into action (Mars).

While Mars / Saturn trines are not particularly lucky, they do present opportunities as long as you’re willing to work for them. This transit is strengthened somewhat by the Moon’s moving further into Gemini on Monday.

It trines Jupiter early in the day and then sextiles Mars (and opposes Saturn) later on. The trine to Jupiter and sextile to Mars can lighten up your mood and have you feeling more like socializing and interacting with others. But the opposition to Saturn brings you back down to earth, reminding you that there is work to be done so you might as well do it.

Tuesday’s Sun / Mercury conjunction brings the planet that rules the “Self” and personal identity (Sun) together with the planet that rules communications and ideas together and melds their influences into one. This is only one of two aspects (the conjunction and semi-sextile) these two bodies can make, due the fact that they are never more than 28° apart.

The exact conjunction is what is referred to by classical astrologers as “cazimi” (in the heart of the Sun). It’s influence is said to be heightened and energized by the Sun, but because Mercury is debilitated by sign and is essentially “hidden” by the Sun, this aspect can be somewhat problematic. The main thing to watch for is information that is hidden or lacking which can result in making ill-informed decisions.

Mercury’s sextile to Pluto on Wednesday is all about deep thoughts and penetrating insights. But you don’t want to keep these to yourself. The sextile speaks of joining hands with others, and sharing information that causes you to stop and think.

The Moon is in Cancer though on Wednesday and will oppose Pluto for a few hours in the middle of the day. So make sure those “penetrating insights” are worth sharing. The potential for someone to read too much between the lines and ascribe some sinister meaning to them is also strong.

Because the Sun and Mercury are still moving side-by-side, the Sun joins in and sextiles Pluto on Thursday. This aspect emphasizes personal power and charisma. It represents a time of increased confidence and comfort in going after what you want without feeling the urge to resort to aggression or force.

This is especially important as Mars will be at the final degree (an anaretic of fated degree) of Aries on Thursday as well. This is like a triple-whammy of Martian or Arian energy which can manifest as an over-the-top urgency to make things happen or get things done. Best to rely on the Sun / Pluto restraint energy during this time rather than rushing full speed ahead.

Mars does move into Taurus on Friday. Mars is said to be in detriment in Taurus, as the polarity point of one of the signs it naturally rules, Scorpio. What this means is that it’s not comfortable in Taurus, as the calm, peaceful, sensuous and slow-moving Taurean archetype is strained when filtered through the Martian natural aggressive, dynamic energy.

If Mars represents what we’re compelled to “do” — what we are willing to fight for — Mars in Taurus can frustrate that energy as any Mars in Taurus individual will tell you that they’d much rather make love than war. But with that said, this marks the onset of a 6-week period where we’re likely to want to slow down a bit, stop and smell the flowers (or better yet, plant some — as this is one of the things Mars in Taurus people do best!) rather than rushing headlong into the next big thing.

This gentle, loving energy carries us through to the end of the week with a Mercury / Chiron conjunction Saturday. This transit can bring in opportunities to heal yourself through working with and comforting others.

This can be a profoundly cathartic experience, wherein you not only understand exactly what someone is going through, but can relate to it on a level you weren’t even aware of until you witnessed it through someone else’s eyes.

That’s it for this week, see you next week!

AriesAries — March 21-April 19: As Venus turns retrograde in your sign on the 4th you might as well just plaster a big smile on your face and leave it there for all the see! This is your month when it comes to love and relationships. A Venus retrograde does not happen often but when it does it can set the course of your relationship back on track alongside allowing you to see what is really important to you. Now, of course, this doesn’t always happen and you may lose out in love but if this is the case then there will be something better for you, especially as you are being blessed with a strong dose of reality and what really matters to you. Mars, your ruling planet, is also in your sign till the 11th giving you the incentive you need to make any changes you are seeking. The moon in your love area occurs on 13th, 14th and 15th which will once again be reinforcing your sense of what is the best direction for you to take.

Moon in Aries March 1, 2, 28, 29, 30

Taurus

Taurus — April 20-May 20:  The good news this month for you is that Mars moves in to your sign on the 11th which can only come as a welcome relief after having Venus, Mars and Uranus in an area of your chart that could’ve been clouding any issues you are dealing with up until then. A bit of get up and go will not go amiss for you right now. After the 14th Mercury will also change signs and once again could cloud for you issues which need your attention. Your intuition will be in fine form so if all else fails trust your gut instincts and throw logic out the window. This is definitely the month to allow some time in your schedule just for “you”. It is not the month to be pushing forward with plans and thinking they will work out smoothly. Moon in your love area on the 16th, 17th and 18th is another time to think more of yourself and allow yourself to be on the receiving end rather than giving.

Moon in Taurus March 2, 3, 4, 30, 31

GeminiGemini — May 21-June 21:  March should be a fun month for you! With a great line up of planets in your area of friends and friendships you certainly shouldn’t be at a loss for socialising and good company. Of course, as Mars changes signs, after the 11th you may find yourself at a bit of loss when it comes to a sense of where you should direct your energy, making this is also a good time to get back into yourself and see where you are at in your life. Expect friends from the past to make a reappearance this month as the Venus retrograde kicks in. It’s time to let bygones be bygones and if you have been holding a grudge or had a grudge held against you then this month all can change. Moon in your relationship area occurs on 18th, 19th and 20th which is just a few days before the Sun also enters your friends and friendship area… the party just keeps going for you this month!

Moon in Gemini March 4, 5, 6

CancerCancer — June 22-July 23:

Your love life may be about to be hit from all directions as Pluto is squared not only with the usual culprits of late Jupiter and Uranus but also Mars and Mercury. The first ten days of the month may have you feeling the tense energy of Mars as it affects your sense of self when it comes to how others are seeing you. Do not allow yourself to feel judged as this could take you down a slippery slope for the rest of the month. After the 14th Mercury will also be in this area of your chart and you may find yourself defending your point of view to the outside world. On the bright side, and yes there is always one around, Venus retrograde may be squaring your sign but that won’t stop it giving your love life a boost. Moon is in your relationship are March 21st, 22nd and 23rd use these dates to reconnect with your partner.

Moon in Cancer March 7, 8, 9

LeoLeo — July 24-August 23:  With a plethora of planets in harmonious aspect to your sign this month from Aries you should be walking around with a big smile on your face. Especially when two of those planets can boost your love life immensely! Both Venus and Mars are in a great position to sort out anything that has been going wrong for you when it comes to your relationship. Mars will only be in this position till the 11th and you need to be careful that, as Mars changes signs after this date, you don’t focus on work to the exclusion of all else. Mercury also joins in on the feel good vibes from the 14th making it a great time to sit down and communicate. Moon in your love area on 23rd, 24th and 25th is a time to be thankful for what you have, because in March…. it is quite a lot!

Moon in Leo March 9, 10

VirgoVirgo —  August 24-September 22: Mercury starts the month in your relationship area which gives you a great opportunity to sit down with your partner and clear the air on anything that may be bothering you. As Mars trines your sign from the 11th you may find yourself taking more risks than you intended. Don’t be too worried where these risks may take you as Mars is in an area of your chart strongly associated with fun and adventure. What you may wish to keep your eye on this month is what is lurking beneath the surface of your emotions. Venus, which is retrograde from the 4th, is in a great position to shine a light on any secrets relating to your love life. Moon in your relationship area on 26th and 27th also coincides with a new moon. A new moon is very much associated with a new beginning so choose your next course of action wisely.

Moon in Virgo March 11, 12, 13

LibraLibra — September 23-October 22: This month begins with both Venus and Mars in your love area which sets you up for a very interesting month when it comes to relationships. Venus is retrograde and you may find someone from your past re-entering your life. For this reason if there is an ex you never had proper closure with and they reach out to you then allow them the benefit of the doubt so you can at least see where things may lead. Of course, you may have absolutely no interest in giving them another chance and that is your choice. As Mars moves out of your love area on the 11th, Mercury moves into it on the 14th. Again this is all about what you want with your relationship and with Mercury and Uranus in close contact the last week of October you can be sure you are not in for a boring month.

Moon in Libra March 13, 14, 15

ScorpioScorpio — October 23-November 22: Mars, your co ruler, enters your relationship area from the 11th. This can add depth and excitement to your love life. At the same time it may also add a little tension alongside arguments so you need to be sure on which way you want things to go. With Venus retrograde from the 4th it is a great month to sort out your relationship so putting the best plan in motion for this to happen should be your top priority. Your work life will likely be the main focus for you in March but try to keep your options open when it comes to socialising. In other words don’t get so caught up in work that you forget your friends and partner otherwise you may be heading into an explosive month and not in the ways Mars could make it explosive for you, that is, with passion! The moon is in your love area 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 30th and 31st making these the dates to watch when it comes to your relationship.

Moon in Scorpio March 16, 17, 18

Sagittarius

Sagittarius — November 23-December 20:  March should be a great month for you. With all the planets forming a trine to your sign from Aries you will not be without a dull moment. Venus is retrograde and with this also comes loves from the past. It’s time to put things to rights and if you feel the other person is worth it then it’s time for new beginnings. Mars will also be in this area of your chart till the 11th so things around you could be moving very quickly. There’s a lot of laughter and fun around for you too and it’s there you need to focus your attention. As Mars moves into your work area after the 11th the last thing you want to do is get so involved with work that you forget what is important to you. From the 14th Mercury will be urging you to live and laugh a little bit more! Moon in your love area 4th, 5th and 6th occurs just as Venus retrogrades. Expect the unexpected!

Moon in Sagittarius March 18, 19, 20

CapricornCapricorn — December 21-January 20:  This is not a month that finds you feeling peaceful and settled. Rather, this is the month where some big changes can occur for you, whether you want them or not. Pluto has been in your sign for quite a while but as March moves forward Pluto comes into transit with Mercury, Jupiter and Uranus and not in a way that may have you jumping for joy! All may see relatively calm until you reach the last week of the month and Mercury, which is in your area of home and family alongside Venus, could hit off a few tense moments for you, especially when it comes to “home truths”. You need to be ready with your answers and if you have felt trouble brewing try to head it off so it doesn’t become too much of a problem as the month moves on. Moon is in your love area 7th, 8th and 9th.

Moon in Capricorn March 21, 22, 23

AquariusAquarius — January 21-February 19: Communication is important for you this month and with the line up of planets you have in this section of your chart then not a lot can go wrong for you if you are clear in what you want to say. Venus, planet of love, is retrograde from the 4th and any conversations you have been putting off when it comes to your relationship need to be opened up so you can resolve problems. After the 14th Mercury also enters this area of your chart giving you a great chance to sort out in your own mind what you want and share this with others. It may be that you need more security and stability and if this is the case then March is the month that you share this with others in an effort to bring it into your life. Moon in your love area 9th and 10th occurs just before Mars enters your area of home and family. Keep this in mind when planning anything special.

Moon in Aquarius March 23, 24, 25

PiscesPisces — February 20-March 20:  The new moon on the 27th occurs in your sign giving you a chance for new beginnings. During this same week Mercury and Uranus come into close contact in your area of security and stability. Uranus is not a stabilising planet so don’t expect things to work smoothly for you this week. You may wish to check you do not overspend and also that you don’t make any huge changes to the point that something could go wrong. You may have Mars in your area of communication but not even that can help you talk your way out of a bad decision you should never have made in the first place. The full moon is in your love area 11th, 12th, 13th which also coincides with the few days that Mars and Mercury are changing signs. Use this to your advantage by keeping a low profile.

Moon in Pisces March 26, 27

the Lovers -- Mary El Tarot

ARIES: The Lovers

Mars and Venus are moving through your sign this month, bringing the traditional “love” planets together, forcing you to deal with relationship conflicts and considerations. The Lovers card is all about relationships and choices that need to be made regarding relationships. These are often complicated by temptations that emerge, forcing you to have to choose between dual principles or desires.

Are you seeing in your own life where an attraction has turned into a fixation or obsession? Or where perhaps you’re relaxing your own set of standards to allow for indiscretions you’ve already made?

The Lovers card says that the stakes are high and that there may be a price to pay for giving into your passions without considering the long term repercussions.

A third party (leading to infidelity on someone’s part) is one strong possibility. But so is a relationship that’s likely to create tensions with family members or society. A same-sex union. A May-December romance. An inter-racial affair. A relationship that is sure to be frowned upon by your religion. A love affair with your co-worker or boss. The possibilities are endless. It can also refer to the union of polarities, as seen in the Mary-el version of the card.

The figures here are about as opposite as they can get: male and female, young and old, black and white. This is said to represent the alchemical marriage. The female figure is strong and aloof, the male passive and vulnerable, She is naked, save for a nautilus shell headdress, while he is draped in purity and light. Yet they flow together in an intimate embrace. Even so, there’s an apparent emotional disconnect in this rendition. The female figure stares off into the distance while the males gazes downward.

The angel watching over them in the background is barely noticeable. She doesn’t assist and she doesn’t interfere. This is something to keep in mind this month as you find yourself struggling with temptation. You do have free will, the choice is ultimately yours, and whatever decision you make will have consequences that you’ll be expected to answer for.

TAURUS: The Hermit

With your ruler (Venus) turning retrograde and moving through your 12th house this month, you may find yourself doing a lot of soul searching. It’s going to be a time for seeking answers to life’s most pressing questions by meditating and reflecting on your goals.

The Hermit card represents a retreat from all the noise and distractions that surround you in order to access your inner reserves of knowledge and wisdom.

In this version of the card — from Vanessa Decort’s gorgeous Sun and Moon Tarot — the Hermit stands before a faded parchment marked with esoteric teachings. She holds an hourglass in one hand and the trident of Shiva (Trishula) in the other.

The symbols on the parchment are in ancient Sanskrit with the Om symbol at the top and the Hebrew letter Yod (representing the omnipresence of God) at the bottom.

As the Hermit card also refers to turning inward, there is an entire spectrum of information — from the depths of the psyche to the heights of conscious awareness that can be accessed through this process.

The Hermit card is not about avoidance, it’s about finding your inner light and choosing to follow it. Or like the woman in this card, choosing to understand it and share it with others.

This month you get to choose whether you’re lighting your own way or acting as a guidepost for those who have wandered away from theirs. Both are valid endeavors ,and only you will know which is the right path for you.

GEMINI: Three of Wands

This month is going to be a time for looking all around you and seeing how the world offers infinite possibilities.

It’s a time for painting your own canvass and creating your own destiny, as seen in the Three of Wands from the fabulous Tarot of Trees.

Moving ahead means you may be leaving something behind. Something like a dull dreary existence or a reality that no longer suits you.

It may mean taking a risk, striking out toward unchartered territories and expanding your horizons so far and wide that you not only don’t know where the road you’re on leads, but are ready to make your imprint on it wherever you go.

The Three of Wands is a card of expectation and anticipation. It’s says that you’ve already started to hit your stride. It says you’ve already done the groundwork and are now ready to strike out and make all that you’ve dreamed of a reality.

It’s about opening the door to possibility and setting your sites on distant horizons. What can I do with what I already have to make a difference in the world? What do I have to offer that will bring the greatest reward? These are the questions you want to be asking yourself right now.

The Three of Wands encourages you to push past your limitations and expand your worldview. It will mean stepping outside of your comfort zone and exploring uncharted territories. And while you may run into pitfalls or have to take detours along the way, know that these are often blessings in disguise that can open you up a whole new world of opportunities.

Seven of CupsCANCER: Seven of Cups

This month you may find yourself with a tendency to overdo things or engage in “excess.” This excess could be in your thinking, words, emotions or just generally feeling as if you can’t reign anything in and get a good grip on what is around you.

Look at the cups floating in the air. What do they mean to you? Each cup is a different colour which correlates to a different chakra.

Take your time and choose which cup you are most drawn to and ask yourself what this colour means to you… I dare you to try this and when you do take note to any resistance you feel within yourself in actually choosing a cup/colour and being able to hold onto your thoughts surrounding it.

That is the feeling of the Seven of cups — this version from Robin Ator’s Prairie Tarot. It represents the inability to truly grasp a situation and the capacity to make a mess of things if you go off on a tangent.

If you need further proof of this look at the bottle of alcohol by the foot of the chair for this is also the card of drink, drugs and the confusion associated with these substances. So the real question is what do you have to work with? You might be best to sit this day out and not take any actions that would land you in a mess.

You can also try this. The one cup on this card that is facing you is the green cup. It is aiming right at you and is very close to your chest area. This cup is the cup for the heart chakra as it is coloured green (the colour associated with this chakra). You may wish to try some colour breathing whilst focusing on this chakra. You may also wish to try abstaining from any substances that would set you off into a conflicted argument with those around you because the cups which are looking as if they are the two with the most likelihood of smashing together are the blue and yellow cup.

Blue standing for the throat chakra and communication and yellow standing for the solar plexus chakra and power. In other words… if you open your mouth and say what’s on your mind it may all just blow up in your face. Best focus on yourself and show yourself a bit of kindness and self love.

LEO: Horse

This month you should be feeling a sense of freedom and liberation — as if a weight has been lifted off your shoulders and been replaced with wings to fly.

The Horse — Spirit of Freedom in the Animal Wisdom Tarot — is associated with Chariot in traditional tarot. In this version of the card we see the Horse has taken flight and is balanced between Sun and Moon — which is associated with day and night, or will and intuition.

The Chariot is traditionally associated with harnessing your inner reserves of strength and power. But here there’s more emphasis on liberation and emancipation, a reference to being freed from the chains that bind you.

Jupiter is now retrograde and moving through your 3rd house — the area related to close connections with others.  As the Horse is also traditionally associated with Jupiter it’s fitting that for you this planet is “flying high.”

The polyhedron star branded onto the Horse’s flank is known as a Merkabah, which is a reference to the Universal life force that is a part of each of us. It’s a reminder of the magic and mystery that is such a part of this archetype.

Notice the intricate designs that are imprinted on the Horse’s wings and which link him to both the Sun and Moon. His connection to both the inner and outer worlds are an important feature for gaining control of his destiny.

You are on the verge of a brand new cycle, during which time you should feel your spirits are lifting as you ascend to higher realms. You’ll still have to work on harnessing your baser instincts, but know that in doing so your ultimate goals are much closer to your reach.

Eight of SwordsVIRGO: Eight of Swords

With your ruler (Mercury) debilitated and squaring Saturn this month, you may be thinking about the obstacles in your life and how you may have contributed to them.

The Eight of Swords speaks of self-imposed limitations. You may feel powerless in your current circumstances and may be so caught up in blaming the people or events that have brought you to this that you’re unable to see a way out.

In this version of the card — from the gorgeous Shadowscapes Tarot — we see a graceful swan rendered almost entirely immobile by a the thorny branches of a blackberry bush. Eight Swords are placed strategically around her, amongst the decaying carcasses of earlier captives.

She longs to break free, but her struggles against the confines of her “cage” cause her to get even more tangled in the bush. A tiny hummingbird flits above her taunting her with its agility.

But look closely at the hummingbird and you can see that it’s not taunting at all. It’s actually showing the swan the way out. It flutters its tiny wings and coaxes her toward the light.

If it can just get the swan to stop panicking and calm down, it can navigate its way through the brambles and disentangle her from the brush. The Mercury / Saturn aspect can be a tough one. It tends to make things seem much worse than they are. Saturn represents limitations and restrictions, and its opposition to the planet that rules thoughts and ideas (Mercury) can make your situation seem more bleak.

But as always with the Eight of Swords there is a way out. It may require a bit of ingenuity — much like is seen in this card. But it mainly involves simply opening your eyes, changing your perspective and finding a workable solution.

Libra: Six of Vessels

Your card this month is the Six of Vessels from the Wildwood Tarot — this deck’s version of the Six of Cups.

It’s a card of innocence and purity, pristine beauty and a joyful, lighthearted playfulness that is seen in the pair of otters who are just getting ready to test the waters.

This is clearly a sacred space which picture postcard beauty made up of lush foliage, a trickling waterfall, and six glowing bowls that float on the surface of a tranquil pool like a scattering of lotus blossoms.

A grove of trees springs up from a hill in the background, shielding this scene from the rest of the world. And this in many ways is the essence of the Six of Vessels.

This card is called “Reunion” in this deck, a reference perhaps to reuniting with your true purpose. Getting in touch with your childhood, your roots and yourself.

With your ruler (Venus) turning retrograde this month, and with Jupiter retrograding through your sign, the chances of  meeting up and reconnecting with someone from your past is strong.

The Six of Cups is also about finding pleasure in the simpler things in life. It says it’s time to kick your shoes off and have fun rather than getting bogged down with responsibilities. All those will be exactly where you left them when you come back to them later on, so for now put them all aside and try to recapture the spirit of those carefree days gone by.

Take some time to find your own sacred space; and reflect on the things that have brought you to where you are today. If you can’t get away you can still recapture some of the magic of those simpler times, and use it to restore your sense of peace.

Five of Pentacles - DurerScorpio: Five of Coins

Your card this month — the Five of Coins — indicates a need to rethink what you value, especially when it comes to your own sense of worth or self-esteem.

In this version of the card, from the beautiful Tarot of Dürer, we see an old man standing in the snow outside a closed wooden door. His clothes are shabby and worn, inadequate against the cold. His wife shivers on their mule behind him.

There are five gold coins scattered on the ground beside them. They don’t even seem to notice the coins. The woman seems dejected and uncertain, and her husband seems hesitant to knock. Perhaps they’ve been turned away before and have come to expect the same this time.

This card is tied to Saturn in Taurus or the second house. Astrologically this relates to hardship and turmoil, business failings, loss of revenue, and financial decline. But it also says a lot about personal values and self-esteem. We don’t always realize how connected these are to one another.

In this respect the Five of Coins can also refer to feelings of loneliness or rejection. But like the couple in this card, you don’t want to make that assumption before you discover it to be true. They could just as easily find comfort, community and warmth on the other side of that door.

Ask yourself whether your own sense of worth has become fragile to the extent that it’s caused you to miss out on opportunities. Perhaps there are underlying feelings of of inadequacy, or maybe it’s pride that keeps you from reaching out.

The Five of Coins reminds us that sometimes we all need a little help and that help is always nearby. Don’t let your worries turn into self-fulfilling prophecies; turn them instead into the motivation that gets you moving forward again, and gets you back on the right path.

The WorldSAGITTARIUS: The World

Your card this month  — The World from the beautiful Feng Shui Tarot — is all about looking at the big picture and being able to trace the steps that have brought you to where you are today.

It’s a card of fulfillment and completion; recognizing milestones that have passed and goals that have been achieved as you prepare to close the door on one chapter in your life and open another.

You may be setting new goals in place or you may be taking some time to celebrate how far you’ve come.

As the last card in the tarot, the World complete’s the Fool’s journey, with the understanding that he’s grown, evolved and matured along the way.

This card can also have you thinking about where you fit in in the world and about your contributions to humanity. It speaks of not only realizing your dreams and achieving your goals, but also becoming one with the Universe, becoming fulfilled and whole.

Saturn is in your sign now and moving toward the galactic center. But it’s also on the verge of turning retrograde. This means you may need to go back and take care of some unfinished business before you can move forward.

You may be tying up one cycle this month and preparing to embark on a new one. Whether you’re taking some time to relish the satisfaction of having achieved something, or are ready to dive back in and start again, the message behind the world card is best received with insight and awareness.

Ask yourself: “What is is I’ve learned through all that I’ve experienced in this chapter of my life?” and “What must I now give up in order to start anew?” If you can answer those two questions with honesty and humility, you’ll be able to carry those lessons into the next chapter.

King of Wands

CAPRICORN: King of Wands

How comfortable are you feeling with your own power? The Kind of Wands is a powerful man. He is forceful and kind and likes to have his own way in all things he surveys… and who would not wish to give him otherwise for he is quite adept at whatever he sets his hand and mind to.

In this version of the King of Wands — from the gorgeous Crystal Tarot — we see a figure who is quite relaxed whilst all around him everything seems to bend to his will. There’s prosperity and growth that looks as if it requires little, if any, effort by him and perhaps this is because he has others doing the hard work for him whilst he comes up with other plans.

He is a man of action but that doesn’t necessarily mean he is the one undertaking the actions for he is also a leader and may have very little patience for those who don’t do as they are told. He doesn’t need to explain himself as he knows what he wants and how to get it.

If you are on the receiving end of this type of behaviour though it may be quite frustrating, to say the least, in knowing how to perceive what his real intentions are. The King of Wands requires a strong woman to stand up to him and you don’t necessarily need to stand up to him head on.

As can be seen from the lion, seemingly tamed, beneath his foot you can purr along in the shadow of his exuberance whilst he takes the lead in arranging all that needs done. Take note though that the lion does not look as if it will for one minute put up with any bullying.

It is content in its place whilst being treated well but could just as easily turn around and bite him on the foot if he gets too bossy and overbearing. And that foot could well be his Achilles heel as it is without proper protective footwear. If you are in a situation where you perceive yourself to have no escape look for the Achilles heel… it will be there and sometimes closer than you think.

Nine of CupsAQUARIUS: Nine of Cups:

Who says you can’t have it all? Who says that every single thing that you could possibly wish for isn’t right there within your reach?

Think about what makes you truly happy and chances are good it’s the simple things in life. Home, family, friends, health, material comforts and peace of mind. This is what the Nine of Cups is all about and if you’re not where you want to be just yet, think of ways to change that.

The Nine of Cups — this version from the beautiful Cosmic Tarot — is about manifesting your heart’s desires. Nothing is taken for granted and nothing is left to chance. It’s about aligning yourself with the universal laws of attraction and getting what you deserve.

The Nine Cups in this card are always full. They’re filled with love, gratitude and abundance, which are endlessly intertwined. They’re filled with hopes and dreams and miracles which are yours for the taking.

The Nine of Cups is a card of satisfaction, fulfillment and contentment. It speaks of being more than just satisfied with your lot in life, but also feeling truly blessed and grateful with where you are.

This card is called “Happiness” in some decks and the “Wish card” in others. But those aren’t always the same thing. So be careful what you wish for as it may or may not bring you happiness.

The Cups in this card are all overflowing. They’re filled with love, gratitude and abundance, which are endlessly intertwined. They’re filled with hopes, dreams and miracles which are yours for the taking.

Take some time to think about what you really want this month — and don’t forget to be grateful for what you already have. There’s an intricate balance between gratitude and personal fulfillment, so make sure you’re putting enough energy and effort into both.

Two of Pentacles

Pisces: Two of Pentacles

This month you may find yourself juggling all of the different areas in your life and trying to find ways to maintain balance.

With all of the activity going on around you may feel like you’re being spread too thin, or pull in too many different directions. You’ll have to be flexible and observant. Giving into the call of one desire without neglecting the call of another should be foremost on your list.

The idea is to be alert enough to remain aware of your surroundings and agile enough to immerse yourself in them fully. Much like the little faerie — from Nathalie Hertz’ gorgeous Faerie Tarot — in this card.

Although there are bound to be distractions and demands on your time, this card says you have it in you to stay centered and attend to your obligations by pulling those opposing forces together and striking a balance between them.

In the context of this card Pentacles refers to more than just money. While it can mean juggling funds — robbing Peter to pay Paul and seeing money go out as soon as if comes in.

The Two of Pentacles sees this as a precarious balancing act, where you have to be careful not to let one set of priorities outweigh the other, even if you find yourself pulled in several different directions.

While these are certainly possibilities you want to be aware of, they can also refer to tasks, commitments and external obligations. Think about what you need to balance in your own life as opposed to what deserves your undivided attention. It may require levels of skill and dexterity that you didn’t even know you had. If you can pull it off though and find ways to satisfy one area without neglecting the other, it should be tremendously rewarding for you in the end.

Forecast

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Feb 26, 2017 – Mar 4, 2017:

We’ve got a big week ahead, starting with a a New Moon / Annular Solar Eclipse at 8° Pisces 28. This is a “ring of fire” Solar Eclipse, which occurs at 14:58 UT (or 9:58 pm EST) on Sunday.

This New Moon / Eclipse is also closely conjunct Neptune, currently at 11 ° Pisces. This places five planets — the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Neptune and Chiron, as well as the South Node — all in mysterious, ethereal. ambiguous Pisces.

As Eclipses are known to expose things that have previously been hidden, this can represent a time where duplicity and deception are revealed. We’re likely to have our belief systems tested and to find ourselves challenging the same in others.

Those that we’ve idolized or placed on pedestals may come crashing down as we find ourselves questioning what we may have blindly believed in in the past.

We may feel the need to challenge authority and question those who we feel have misled us or duped us into believing something that turns out to be little more than smoke and mirrors.

As Eclipses always occur close to the Moon’s Nodes, this one is on the South Node (in Pisces) and opposing the North Node (in Virgo). It suggests that people you encounter during this time will challenge you to grow karmically, either because of past life ties or because they are facilitators this time around for whatever karmic lessons you’re facing.

The Pisces / Virgo polarity is all about the difference between illusion and fact. It’s about finding that middle ground between what we so desperately want to believe in (Pisces) and what has proven itself to be real (Virgo).

Mercury comes in and conjuncts the South Node on Monday, thus automatically opposing the North Node. This can manifest as a chance encounter that turns out to be anything but in the end. Whether it’s a past-life connection or just someone you meet unexpectedly that turns into a significant connection, you want to pay attention.

You want to be be mindful of what you say and how you say it. Mercury represents communications and the Nodes are said to be karmic in nature. So pay attention to what you put out there as it could have long term repercussions.

Also on Monday, Mars conjuncts Uranus and opposes Jupiter. This is a highly volatile and potentially explosive transit that can see you drawing battle lines with those who don’t share your same political or ideological views. The Mars / Uranus conjunction intensifies the Jupiter / Uranus opposition, which will be partile on Friday.

The Sun conjuncts Neptune on Thursday. This aspect can see you feeling inspired to make your dreams a reality or it can see you escaping into a world of fantasy and delusion. It’s a highly receptive aspect that may see you lacking in boundaries but full of creative potential and Utopian ideals.

This aspect can threaten to deplete your energy levels and may see you spending the day dreaming about your long-term goals rather than making any headway toward accomplishing them. But it’s good for fantasizing about the future and envisioning the changes you’d need to make in order to make your dreams a reality, especially as the Moon in Aries chimes in and conjuncts the Mars / Uranus conjunction also on that day.

On Friday the Jupiter / Uranus opposition is exact. This is a recurrence of this ongoing aspect that has been in play for some time (and was first exact this time around on December 26th). It pits the planet associated with growth, expansion and evolution (Jupiter) against the planet associated with sudden change and unexpected events and opportunities Uranus) and is likely to so in aggressive and potentially combative ways.

The Jupiter opposition can exaggerate and magnify the erratic Uranus energy, but remember that oppositions are meant to be integrated. Your goal with this transit  is to find a way to bring those conflicting energies into focus.

Mercury conjuncts Neptune on Saturday, just as Venus goes stationary retrograde. The Mercury / Neptune conjunction is excellent for meditating, journaling, or any type of creative communications (songwriting, poetry, composing love letters, etc.) It’s also a highly sensitive aspect that favors getting in touch with your intuition and paying attention to your dreams.

The Venus retrograde occurs at 13 ° Aries 08′. From an astrological perspective, retrogrades motivate us to review, revisit, refine and resolve challenges that are holding us back from progressing in the area related to the planet involved. In this case, it’s the planet related to love, romance, beauty, money, material possessions and personal values.

Venus is said to be in detriment in Aries, as it is the sign that opposes Venus’ natural ruler, Libra. Traditional or Classical astrology places a lot more emphasis on planetary detriments as they are seen as significant in Classical practices.

Venus will continue in retrograde motion — moving between Aries and Pisces as it moves backward through the zodiac, until April 15th. It could see you reconnecting with long-lost loves and resolving past-life relationship karma. Use this time to reassess your relationships and get a better handle on your personal value systems.

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Feb 12, 2017 – Feb 18, 2017:

Coming on the heels of Saturday’s Full Moon lunar eclipse, we start this week with a another lunar aspect: the Moon in Virgo — still full — and conjuncting the North Node. As Virgo is the sign associated with humility, productivity, self-improvement and service to others this Moon is great for shifting our collective focus toward these areas.

The conjunction to the North Node gets us thinking about bettering our relationships with loved ones and family members. As the North Node is tied to lessons we are learning in this lifetime, we may meed to look at ways to heal or repair those connections.

Meanwhile the asteroids Juno and Ceres are in trine (120° aspect) all week. These are two strong feminine archetypes working together.  Juno is the goddess of partnership and marriage (among many other things) and Ceres is the goddess of home and hearth (ditto). They’ve been involved in a wide trine for some time, but now they are moving through the early degrees of Earth signs, which may see a more structured and disciplined feminine uprising than we’ve witnessed over the last few weeks (when they were both in fiery, dynamic Sagittarius and Aries).

Sunday’s Mars / Neptune semi-sextile can help all of us to facilitate a more productive outlet for our frustrations. With Mars and Neptune both dignified by sign, we can manifest their respective energies — for Mars it’s energy and action and for Neptune it’s idealism and inspiration — more effectively.

The Virgo Moon joins in and opposes Neptune (simultaneously inconjuncting Mars) briefly, so you don’t want to act on every brilliant idea that pops into your head. The potential for deception — including self-deception is strong.

This energy continues through Monday and on into Tuesday, when Mercury semi-sextiles Neptune and the Sun sextiles Saturn. The Mercury / Neptune aspect is idealistic and imaginative, while the Sun / Saturn aspect emphasizes logic, discipline and  the rational side of this configuration and lessens the confusion just enough to get things done.

These are both nice transits for Valentine’s day, although the Libra Moon opposes both Venus and Mars (in Aries) before the night is done. The Libra Moon is appropriate, as it’s tied to relationships of all kinds. But the opposition to the love and sex planets says there may be some bumps along the way. Best to keep things light and not develop too many expectations.

Also on Tuesday, Jupiter inconjuncts Chiron. As this transit is good for letting go of what you no longer need — ideals and belief systems more than material things — it may just be perfect for shedding whatever challenges and disappointments have been holding you back. There is a bit of a wistful melancholy associated with this transit, but it may just be what is needed to purge yourself of all you’ve been holding onto, and wiping the slate clean.

On Thursday, Mercury sextiles Mars. This aspect is all about taking initiative and making things happen. It’s about being assertive and expressing yourself with confidence and vitality. I’ts good for breathing new life into projects that have made it past their point of inception but are still in the early stages. It’s also good for revamping your personal style and putting your best foot forward.

We end the week with the Sun moving into Pisces on Saturday. This is a time to explore your dreams and your visions, to be more sensitive, compassionate and loving. It’s a gentle, intuitive signature that’s less interested in seeing what you can get out of a situation and more about what you can contribute.

You may be more inclined to form deep emotional connections during this time and to merge with another. You may be more accepting of the difference in people and more apt to set aside your own needs to focus on another’s.

The Pisces Sun tends to be self-effacing, self-sacrificing and altruistic. It’s imaginative and idealistic. It can heighten your intuition and psychic awareness but can also leave you dazed and confused. It’s a good time to look at the boundaries (or lack thereof) that you have in place and think about how you can where you need to be adjustments. It’s time for exploring your visions for the future and taking whatever steps you can to make the world a better place.
