Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Jun 18, 2017 – Jun 24, 2017:

This week starts with a Saturn / Mercury opposition on Sunday, just as the Sun sextiles the North Node and Uranus. The Sun’s sextile to both Uranus and the North Node brings in the Uranus / North Node trine (which was partile on Saturday). And that’s a good thing since the Saturn / Mercury opposition can be a bit of a downer or a rain-on-your-parade aspect.

Since the Nodes are always polar opposites, the Sun will also automatically trine the South Node. These aspects between the Sun and Nodes can bring people in that you’re working through past-life karma with (South Node) or creating new karma with (North Node). Of course these are often one and the same.

Pay attention to new people coming in during this time, as well as interactions that trigger you emotionally. These are harmonious aspects (trine and sextile) that should make for pleasant interactions with others, as well as opportunities to work together.

The sextile to Uranus is great for flying your freak flag in a socially acceptable way. If you think that’s an oxymoron, consider that the Sun is tied to your life force, will and self-expression, while Uranus is tied to thinking outside the box. It is associated with being progressive and innovative, as well as broadening your range. This aspect encourages you to march to the beat of your own drum and express your own unique individuality in ways that inspire rather than shock.

On Monday, the Sun squares Chiron. This aspect can create a need to remedy an imbalance between the desire for self-actualization (the Sun) and the urge for self-sacrifice (Chiron). Heading up a volunteer program or taking part in something meaningful in community are good ways to actualize this transit.

Mercury sextiles Uranus and the North Node — and also squares Chiron — on Tuesday. Starting with the sextile to Uranus and the North Node — keeping in mind that this will also pull in the Mercury trine to the South Node — we can expect to have encounters with others that open us up on this day to new ways of thinking.

These encounters may be karmic in nature (due to the aspect to the Nodes), and will definitely be innovative and thought-provoking. As Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury, this transit is great for brainstorming and thinking outside the box. It brings insight and awareness to the surface. It’s all about radical ideas and flashes of brilliance.

Both of these planets are moving through innovative signs. And because the sextile links them together harmoniously, you can take advantage of this configuration by tapping into your own creative genius. It’s an excellent transit for negotiating change, especially with respect to group activities and community or humanitarian efforts.

The square to Chiron is a little trickier. It can bring feelings of guilt and regret to the surface. You may be questioning whether you’ve done enough to help others or whether you’ve said the right things. You may also be more gullible than usual so be careful you don’t fall prey to some undeserving culprit’s sob story.

Also on Tuesday, Venus sextiles Neptune. This is always a nice aspect, since Neptune is the higher octave of Venus and these two planets “holding hands (sextiling) one another emphasizes their respective influences. The sextile aspect relates to assistance and cooperation. The Venus / Neptune combination is often present in relationships that are based on spiritual, creative or altruistic notions.

This transit is excellent for tapping into your psychic abilities and can also be instrumental in creating soul connections with romantic interests. There are unconditional love aspects to the Venus / Neptune sextile but be careful: it’s also associated with escapism and self-deception, such as relationships where neither party sees the other one clearly. This transit can also manifest as co-dependency or escapism.

On Wednesday, the Sun and Mercury both enter Cancer and form a conjunction later in the day. The Sun moving into Cancer marks the onset of the Summer Solstice (and longest day of the year) in the Northern Hemisphere, and the Winter Solstice (and shortest day of the year) in the Southern Hemisphere.

Mercury in Cancer can see you taking a trip down memory lane. Unexpected reminders of the past — songs playing on the radio, sights and sounds and scents from your childhood, even dreams of people you haven’t seen in years — can make you nostalgic and thinking about the past.

The Sun / Mercury in Cancer combination is highly sensitive though, so make sure you’re not making mountains out of molehills, reading too much between the lines or taking things too personally during this time. It can’t hurt to reach out to someone from your past (especially family members you haven’t kept up with as much as you’d like) and let them know they’ve been on your mind.

Thursday’s Gemini Moon trines Jupiter and squares Neptune. This is an excellent setup for light-hearted interactions with others; it’s good for taking in a concert or movie with friends.  Just be careful if you’re planning on imbibing as the Moon /Jupiter portion of this configuration is prone to over-doing things, while the Moon / Neptune portion may not know when “enough is enough.”

June New MoonThis month’s New Moon takes place in Cancer at 10:30 pm on Friday (or 2:30 am UT on Saturday).

The New Moon each month brings opportunities to start anew, and this month with it falling in Cancer — the sign associated with home, family, security needs and roots — the emphasis is on relationships with those who are nearest and dearest to our hearts.

The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon — at 2° Cancer 47 — is “An arctic explorer leads a reindeer through icy canyons.”

This speaks of relying on our own hardships and experiences to guide others through the challenges they face in their own lives.

We finish off the week with Venus trining Pluto on Saturday. This is an urge to merge transit that can see us longing for meaningful connections with others. Whether these are romantic / sexual in nature or just significant in terms of shared interests and ideals remains to be seen. This transit brings with it elements of magnetism and charisma so be prepared to make an impact on those you encounter along the way.

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Jun 11, 2017 – Jun 17, 2017:

We start this week on Sunday with the Moon in Capricorn (still full) trining Venus and opposing Mars. While the Moon / Mars opposition can be temperamental and tempestuous, this aspect is alleviated somewhat by the trine to Venus, which is dignified for the next three weeks in its own sign.

The Moon is not any happier in Capricorn than Mars is in Cancer. As Capricorn is the sign of the Moon’s detriment and Cancer is the sign of Mars’ fall, these are uncomfortable placements to begin with.

For this reason, the Moon’s trine (and Mars’ sextile) to Venus is important as in this scenario Venus is the only planet favorably situated. It can go a long ways toward softening the opposition and its accompanying conflicts.

The Moon continues its transit through Capricorn, squaring Jupiter and sextiling Neptune before the end of the day, and then conjuncts Pluto early Monday morning.

Remember that lunar transits are fleeting and can pass by relatively unnoticed. They are generally tied to emotional responses than actual events, so keep this in mind as you’re dealing with your own (or other people’s) changing moods.

On Tuesday, Mercury trines Jupiter.  Here we have two natural polarities — the natural rulers of the 3rd and 9th houses — joined together in harmony. We have Mercury — the planet associated with communications and ideas — trining Jupiter — the planet associated with benevolence, good will and generosity.

Among many other things, this transit is good for opening your heart to those you love and expressing appreciation and gratitude for all that you have. It’s good for coming together with others and celebrating your allegiances while honoring and accepting your differences. It’s a time for feeling inspired and optimistic about the future.

Mercury next squares Neptune — on Wednesday — just as Uranus trines the North Node. Starting with the Mercury / Neptune aspect, this transit can see you feeling somewhat disoriented or unstable. This aspect can manifest as confusion, uncertainty, suspicion and doubt.

It’s not the best time to sign contracts or lay down any concrete plans. It’s best used for tapping into our creative potential. For dreaming, visualizing and conceptualizing. Use this time to get in touch with your spirituality or work on creating something inspiring during this time, and save the nuts and bolts (left brain) decisions for another day.

The trine from Uranus to the North Node (which means it simultaneously sextiles the South Node) gets us thinking about making changes in our lives that can have an impact on the world at large. It refers to relying on past experiences (South Node) to leave the world a better place (Uranus) for generations to come (North Node).

As Uranus is in Aries and the North Node on the fixed star Regulus (the “Heart of the Lion”) during this time, you may have big ideas and plans for the future. But Thursday’s Sun / Saturn opposition is likely to throw a wrench into the works, as any flaws in your thinking are likely to be exposed.

The Sun and Saturn in opposition is a difficult aspect. It pits the Self, Ego and Will (the Sun) against external obstacles and restrictions (Saturn). It forces you to consider all the things that could go wrong, and will more than likely convince you that they will.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed with the prospects of making changes in your life against what seem like insurmountable odds, if may be easy to blame it on Saturn. But Neptune goes stationary retrograde on Friday, and that can contribute to feelings of melancholy or disillusionment.

Neptune is at home in Pisces, and when it’s retrograde it can bring you one step closer to Nirvana. It opens up your psychic pathways and makes it easier for you access the collective unconscious. It is sensitive, compassionate, idealistic and altruistic. It can also be unrealistic and delusional.

The Moon — also in Pisces — joins in and forms a conjunction to Neptune in the middle of the day, before moving on to conjunct Chiron on Saturday. We may feel our energy levels waning over the weekend, between the Sun / Saturn opposition, Neptune turning retrograde and the stellium in Pisces.

We can look forward to some very pleasant aspects (sextiles) over the next week, as well as the Sun and Mercury moving into Cancer (marking the onset of the Summer Solstice) and a New Moon (also in Cancer) before the week is through

Forecast

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Jun 4, 2017 – Jun 10, 2017:

It’s going to be an eventful week for all of us, with a full Moon in Sagittarius, three planets (Mercury, Venus and Mars) changing signs and one planet (Jupiter) changing direction.

Starting on Sunday, we have the Sun squaring Neptune and Venus trining the North Node. The Sun / Neptune portion of this set up may see you feeling unsure about yourself and questioning your own self-worth, as well as how you may be perceived by others. It can manifest as insecurity, self-doubts, and hypersensitivity to criticism.

You may be struggling to figure out who you really are and what you really stand for. The Sun / Neptune square can cloud your vision, especially with respect to your identity (the Sun). Don’t fall into the trap of comparing yourself to others, or looking for ways to emulate them.

The Venus / Node portion is much easier to deal with. As the lunar Nodes are always in direct opposition with to one another, Venus will automatically sextile the South Node at the same time. This aspect can bring new people into your life who feel familiar and who can be instrumental to your evolutionary process. This aspect is karmic in nature, meaning that the people you meet during this time are here to propel you toward your destiny — and vice versa.

Your actions and interactions can have far reaching repercussions so make sure you treat the people you meet during this time (and all times) with dignity and respect.

Mars also moves into Cancer on Sunday. Mars is debilitated in Cancer, the sign opposite its exaltation (Capricorn). It can be moody, temperamental and irritable. It can also manifest as passive-aggression. But as with all weak planetary placements, there are also some wonderfully favorable aspects: in this case a motivation (Mars) toward empathy, nurturing and caring for others.

Because Mars is also currently out of bounds, you want to be on the lookout for erratic behavior from others during this time. You want to stay centered and not allow your buttons get pushed. Or at the very least recognize the importance of not taking things personally.

Mercury squares the North and South Nodes on Monday. This is also referred to by classical astrologers as “at the bendings.” This can indicate a period of crises with emphasis on the concept of fate.

As Mercury represents thoughts, ideas, communications and mental activities, this can translate literally as a crisis in consciousness. It can also manifest as inconvenient or uncomfortable discussions. Feeling like you’re being put on the spot or forced to answer questions you’re not prepared to answer.

On Tuesday, Mercury sextiles Chiron just before it moves into Gemini and just before Venus enters Taurus. Starting with the Mercury / Chiron aspect, it’s excellent for meditating, journaling, or any type of creative communications (songwriting, poetry, composing love letters, etc.) It’s also a highly sensitive aspect that favors getting in touch with your intuition and paying attention to your dreams.

Moving onto the Mercury and Venus ingresses, it’s interesting to note that both of them are moving into the signs they rule within hours of one another.

Venus in Taurus is calm, gentle, patient and sensuous. In keeping with the above-mentioned recommendations, this is an excellent time to do landscaping, plant your garden or create a beautiful flowerbed. Venus in Taurus wants to surround itself with beauty and to indulge all five senses.

This is a good time to take a cooking class, visit a winery, redecorate your house, doing energy work or getting in touch with your physical body, through yoga, massage, Pilates, etc. As both Venus and Taurus are also linked with money, it’s a good time to think about saving or investing.

Mercury in Gemini is curious, playful, clever and engaging. It’s interested in many things but is easily distracted and quick to lose interest. It’s quick-thinking but can also be tangential. It’s interested in gathering facts and information, even seemingly meaningless trivia.

Mercury in Gemini is great for interacting with others, and for taking care of menial chores — in fact the more menial the chores the more opportunities there will be to do what Mercury in Gemini does best. Juggle several different things at once.

Moving forward to Friday, we have a Full Moon at 18° Sagittarius 53′. This occurs at 1:09 pm UT (or 9:09 am EDT).

The June Full Moon is known as the Full Strawberry Moon in Native American traditions. It’s also sometimes referred to as the Full Rose or Full Hot Moon. The Sabian symbol for this degree is: “Pelicans, disturbed by people move their habitat.

As Full Moons are said to shine a spotlight on areas in your chart that are affected (by house position and contacts to other planets) you might look to your own natal chart to see where this will play out for you.

In general, the Sagittarius Full Moon provides an overview of the progress you’ve made since its New Moon counterpoint back in May. Seeds that were planted then will surely have sprouted; do you need to make adjustments or change your course entirely? Now is the time to think about what you’ve accomplished and where you want to go from here.

Also on Friday, Venus sextiles Mars and Jupiter goes stationary direct. The Venus / Mars aspect brings love and romance to the forefront. This transit is all about going with the flow and staying in sync with your loved ones. It’s good for attracting new people into your life and for collaborating rather than putting up resistance.

Jupiter turning direct (after spending the last several months in retrograde motion) won’t cross its “shadow point” until early September, but it’s moving forward all the same. This change in direction brings with it the desire to start moving forward again toward thinking, planning and accomplishing in a big way.

As Jupiter is tied to travel, philosophy. higher mind and personal expansion, you can start thinking about ways to enhance your life in all of these areas.

That’s it for now. See you next week!

Continue reading for complete scopes for each sign:

AriesAries — March 21-April 19: The month starts off with Venus the planet of love, in your sign, giving you are a head start when it comes to your love life. You only have the first week to use this great transit compliments of Venus, so use it well. Just as Venus moves out of your sign Mercury will be moving into a great position to help you with communication. If there is anything you have been putting off saying then after the 7th you may find that the words you were looking for just pop into your thoughts. Given that Venus moves into an area of stability and security on this same day it may be time you put your money where your mouth is and say what is really on your mind. Moon in your relationship area on the 3rd, 4th and 5th intensifies Venus’ ability to throw light onto your relationship.

Moon in Aries June 18, 19

Taurus

Taurus — April 20-May 20: Your ruling planet, Venus, arrives in your sign after the 7th. Relationships should be smoother at this time as Venus shines her light on any areas that may need to be looked at and also allows you to think on what you want when it comes to love. With Mercury also in your sign for the first week of June you will no doubt not be short of thoughts or words when it comes to your needs. However, from the 7th, just as Venus arrives in your sign, Mercury moves in to Gemini. This, for Taureans, is an area of your chart which means security and stability, two things which are always close to your heart. Moon in your relationship area on 5th, 6th and 7th finds you at a time when you are on the verge of possibly some life altering changes to your love life.

Moon in Taurus June 20, 21

GeminiGemini — May 21-June 21: Mercury, your ruling planet, is in your sign from 7th to 22nd giving you a chance to clear up any confusion you may have been having. It also gives you a chance to communicate clearly and directly with those around you and if you have been in need of doing so then now is the time to speak your mind. Venus is in an area of your chart which may be either a) causing confusion in your love life or b) giving you a nice, smooth time when it comes to your relationship. I hope it is the latter, however, if it is not you always have Mercury to turn things around for you. Remember, speak from your heart and speak the truth. Moon in your relationship area on the 9th is a full moon. This means it is especially strong energy around this time for you and it is the one moon of the year that falls in your relationship area. Use it well.

Moon in Gemini June 22, 23

CancerCancer — June 22-July 23: June may not be the easiest of months for you with both Mercury and Mars in close alignment in your sign during the last week. This can make for some fireworks and as Mars is not comfortable in Cancer to begin with, you may also find yourself frustrated and out of sorts when it comes to asserting yourself wants and needs. This is a great time for self care though and just tending to your own wants and needs. It’s about feeling at home with yourself and not worrying what anyone else thinks. In fact, you don’t want to be drawn into any arguments this month as the Mercury, Mars combination can cause things to become a bit out of hand. New moon in your sign on the 24th gives you a chance to start something anew. If your relationship needs freshening up then the 24th gives you just the chance to do so.

Moon in Cancer June 24 (New), 25, 26

LeoLeo — July 24-August 23: Use the first week of June to go out and do what makes you happy. Venus is in a great position to support you with such a move at that time. After this, Venus moves in to an area of your chart which may have you thinking more and more about work. With thinking, comes doing and before you know it you are locked into work projects that you may not wish to be dealing with. From 7th to 22nd Mercury is in an area of your chart that can give your social life a boost. Because of this you need to get your work | social life balance in order so you can enjoy what awaits you during those 2 weeks. Moon in your love area 13th, 14th and 15th is a time to shine and break free from the past.

Moon in Leo June 26, 27, 28

VirgoVirgo —  August 24-September 22: For the first few days of June Mars is in your area of work giving you the inclination to do more and more. It will come as no surprise that as Mercury also enters this area of your chart from 7th to 22nd you are in full work mode, and not a lot can stop you from burning the candle at both ends to finish a job and finish it well. On the bright side, and perhaps your saving grace this month, is that Venus is in a position to give you a lot of fun and adventure alongside lightening up your mood. The trick to enjoying this transit though is to not put so much of your time (and self) into work. As the moon moves into your love and relationship area on the 15th, 16th and 17th you would be wise to take some time off work and focus on your love life.

Moon in Virgo June 4, 5, 6, 28, 29

LibraLibra — September 23-October 22: Venus, your ruling planet, passes through your love area the first week of June. This should put a smile on your face when it comes to your love life especially around the 3rd, 4th and 5th when the moon is also in your sign. From the 7th to the 22nd Mercury will be in positive position to your sign which allows you to think clearly and make plans. It is also in an area of your chart which relates to travel and you may find yourself spontaneously going on a trip. This will do you the world of good as for most of June work is firmly on your mind. Don’t allow for too much work to get in the way of your social life. All work and no play makes for a very boring time. Moon in your relationship area on 18th and 19th occurs just before Mercury changes signs, remember to have some fun.

Moon in Libra June 3, 4, 5

ScorpioScorpio — October 23-November 22: Venus is in your love and relationship area after the first week of June, giving you the opportunity to spread your wings when it comes to love. You may find that you are not having the usual sudden insights you are so famous for, but a gradual unfolding of situations making more sense to you. This is especially true as Mercury moves through your relationship area the week before Venus moves in to it. Be prepared for some changes this month. They may not be easy but they should be positive, and they are pretty much focused in favor of your love life. Mars also comes into contact with Mercury in the last week of June, which again reinforces your need for change. The moon in your relationship area on 20th and 21st occurs on the summer solstice, which is another indication that this month will be huge for you!

Moon in Scorpio June 5, 6, 7

Sagittarius

Sagittarius — November 23-December 20: Work is taking center stage for you in June as Mercury, and later Venus moves through this area of your chart. These are good transits to have and if you have been considering a change of job or just a change of pace, then this is the month to do so. Holidays, fun, recreational activities are all highlighted for you, especially as the full moon occurs in your sign on the 9th. This full moon is very close to the moon’s node, also in your sign and you would do well to keep your eyes and ears open to anything which occurs around you which could work in your favor. This is an especially fated transit to have and you never know where it will take you. There is a period from 7th to 22nd June where Mercury is in your relationship area, use this time well as communication will be especially positive.

Moon in Sagittarius June 8, 9 (Full), 10

CapricornCapricorn — December 21-January 20: At various points during this month both Mercury and Mars will be in your love and relationship area. Mercury rules communication and Mars is a planet that can cause some stress to your love life if you are not careful. The week to watch out for is the last week of June. At this time both these planets come into close contact with each other and you may find yourself with your hands full and in the midst of an argument. Forewarned is forearmed so if you see the signs ahead of time do what you can to duck out of the way as the combination of Mercury and Mars is not something to be trifled with. The new moon also occurs in your love area on the 24th giving you the perfect chance to launch something new when it comes to your relationship.

Moon in Capricorn June 10, 11, 12

AquariusAquarius — January 21-February 19: Venus, in your area of communication the first week of June, allows you to come up with ideas that will see you positively progressing throughout the month. It is especially important that you make sure your relationship is running smoothly during this time because after the 7th Venus is in an area of your chart which can either help or harm our love life. Find the right balance between too much and too little time together. With Mars spending the majority of the month in your work area, later followed by Mercury from the 22nd, you really need to think on how much you are giving to your work and what this takes away from your relationships, especially those involving family. Moon in your relationship area 26th, 27th and 28th finds Mercury and Mars conjunct which only reinforces the need to find that balance.

Moon in Aquarius June 13, 14, 15

PiscesPisces — February 20-March 20: June is looking like a great month for you when it comes to communication. Mercury is in a strong position during the first week, allowing you to express what is on your mind with ease. From the 7th onwards Venus will also be gracing you with her presence when it comes to getting your point of view across and where Venus is particularly good at this is in the area of love and relationships. If you have been putting off tackling something which you think will be difficult with your partner then after the 7th is a good time to bring it up with them. Mars is also in a position at this time to give you a boost in being daring and perhaps a bit more forthright than you would usually be. Moon in your relationship area 4th, 5th, 6th, 28th and 29th gives you an extended time of positives when it comes to your love life.

Moon in Pisces June 15, 16, 17

ARIES: Manatee

Has it been all work and no play for you in recent weeks? Or have there been too many responsibilities weighing on your shoulders and not enough letting your hair down and just having fun?

The Manatee, or Six of Shells —  which is the Animal Wisdom Tarot’s version of the Six of Cups — says it’s time to do just that. The Manatees in this card aren’t thinking about all the work piling up at the office or all the emails they have respond to at home.

No they’re fully engaged in a game of catch, while the rest of the world floats by around them. This is the essence of the Six of Shells. Having fun, being playful and immersing yourself in the present rather than fretting about the past.

There’s a childlike innocence and wonder associated with this card. In fact children may figure prominently for you, and the thoughts of your own childhood may be triggered by their presence. If so consider it a call to observe their ability to live in the moment and follow in kind.

The Manatee as an animal totem speaks of companionship, trust and gentle play. It encourages you to take turns, share, and accept those around you for who and what they are.

The Six of Shells is all about finding pleasure in the simpler things in life. It says it’s time to kick your shoes off and have fun rather than getting bogged down with responsibilities. All those will be exactly where you left them when you come back to them later on, so for now put them all aside and try to recapture the spirit of those carefree days gone by.

The Chariot

TAURUS: Chariot

The Chariot — this version from Cathy McClelland’s Star Tarot — is all about pulling all of your resources together to overcome the obstacles that are standing in your way. It’s about “taking charge” of your life — your goals, your decisions and your destiny — rather than just going along for the ride.

As with most versions of this card, the central figures are two rearing stallions and a Charioteer who is harnessing their divergent energies. But in this rendition the stallions are replaced by a white and black Pegasus, each pulling in different directions.

If you look closely though, they do overlap in the middle, right below the ankh — or “key of life” — symbol. The black and white references — day and night, good and evil, positive and negative, conscious and unconscious, etc. serve as a reminder that we need to harness those divergent forces in order to achieve mastery.

The Charioteer himself is clothed in ceremonial garb. Esoteric symbols — including the astrological glyphs associated with the zodiac and planets — are placed all around then, and are addressed in detail in the artist’s interpretation of this card.

Like the Charioteer in this card, you can make great strides in your personal journey, as long as you’re aware of the need to focus your energy in one primary direction. You’ll have find a way to balance the diverging energies in your life. But if you can “pull it together” you can go along ways toward accomplishing your goals.

Page of SwordsGEMINI: Page of Swords

With your ruler (Mercury) moving into your sign this month, you may be mulling over the 101 ideas that are rushing through your head. Just as one bright idea pops into your mind another sprouts up to take its place.

Like the Page of Swords in this card, you will need to stay focused if you wish to “win” a discussion. Don’t rush in too quickly; decide what you want the outcome to be, and don’t get distracted by things that have no bearing upon your original plan.

Reflect on how easy it would be to hit that butterfly with the sword as shown in this card. My guess is it would not be easy but it would distract you to the point of weakening your own arguments.

The Page of Swords — this version from Kat Black’s Golden Tarot — may have his head in the clouds but that doesn’t mean it’s not full of ideas. He’s thinking and planning and strategizing at any given moment.

He may have BIG ideas — bigger than he’s prepared to handle, much like that giant sword in his hands. But it’s those ideas that propel him forward, toward ultimately accomplishing his goals.

The Page of Swords can be charming and clever. He (or she) is also somewhat immature, temperamental and emotionally unsophisticated. You may grow tired of his antics have to resist the urge to yank him by the ear and send him to his room. But there are positive attributes associated with this card as well. There’s curiosity, innovation and idealism that’s hard to find anywhere else. These are the gifts from the Page of Swords, which can inspire you to reach for the stars as well.

The MoonCANCER: The Moon

This month’s New Moon is in your sign, and Mars will  also be moving through Cancer for the better part of the month. It’s going to be a time for getting in touch with your feelings and emotions, and getting a better understanding of your doubts, insecurities and fears.

The Moon card is tied to the hidden and mysterious realm of the unconscious, from which all of our instincts and emotions arise. When we’re aligned with that part of ourselves and in sync with our emotions, everything seems to just fall into place — and when we’re not, all hell can break loose.

This version is from the beautiful Sun and Moon Tarot from Vanessa Decort. In it an ethereal young woman sits arc of in the crescent moon and looks down on the turbulent waters below.

Many versions of this card contain the symbol for Cancer (the crab), yet this version contains the symbol of Pisces (the fishes) and Scorpio, which completes the watery triad. There are the opposing pillars (lighthouses), the black and white dogs, the Hebrew Symbol for resurrection and redemption, and of course the turbulent seas.

It’s time to explore your inner world and immerse yourself in the realm of emotions. While you want to be on the lookout for things that may not be as they seem (as the Moon can also bring confusion and cloud your judgment), it’s also a brand New Moon, which brings with it a fresh perspective.

While you may not want to trust your first impressions or take everything at face value during this time, the secrets of the Moon always reveal themselves over time. If you’re feeling hesitant about something, put it aside until you feel more comfortable. Your own motivations — and the motivations of those around you — will become clearer to you in the fresh light of day.

DestinyLEO: Destiny

With the North Node now moving through your sign you may be noticing synchronicities all around you. This is the Destiny Card from the Golden Dragon Tarot — this deck’s version of the Wheel of Fortune. It represents karma, fate and transformation, concepts which may be unsettling but are always life-altering.

You may be dealing with intrusive thoughts or moments of uncertainty that cause you to question what is real and what is not. You might be asking yourself “Who am I?” “What is my purpose? “Where am I heading?” “Am I awake or am I dreaming?”

The man in this card appears to be sleeping. The goddess rising from the fog of his dreams sprinkles something over his head and soothes his fitful rest. This is Quan Yin, goddess of Compassion and Mercy, as evidenced by the Tiger, Peacock and Dragon animal totems also present in this card. Each of these animal totems represent a different state of consciousness and a different place on the Wheel. The Tiger represents the base, primal and survival instincts; the Peacock represents luxury, beauty and earthly pleasures and the Dragon represents power, victory and transformation.

If things aren’t exactly going as planned right now, you may have to look at the bigger picture. Sometimes we blame ourselves for the down times (assuming we’ve brought them on ourselves) while viewing the up times as outside of our control.

This card — and these transits transits — encourage you to remember that life’s natural rhythms may not always be in sync with your own expectations. And sometimes it takes a crisis (or a night of fitful sleep) to see that for yourself. You’ll have to look at where the actions you’ve taken and the decisions you’ve made have led you to where you are today. In doing so, and in choosing to participate in your own destiny, you can determine where this next chapter leads.

Three of WandsVIRGO: Three of Wands

This month, with your ruler moving through your career and public sector,. you’ll want to be looking at opportunities that are presenting themselves for you to expand your horizons.

The Three of Wands — this version from the Animism Tarot deck — says you’ve already made strides toward accomplishing important goals. And you’re probably also already starting to see the fruits of your labors.

Whether this is related to a projects in the workplace or momentum you’ve gained in your personal relationships, you can take a moment to pat yourself on the back for a job well done. But it’s also time to look toward the future. You want to think about how far you’ve come as you plan your next move.

The bobcat in this card is perched on a ledge looking out over the vast horizons before him. The Sun rises in the distance. He may have taken a moment to pause and reflect — over how far he’s come — but a new day is dawning and with it the energy and enthusiasm to keep moving forward.

You may have recently discovered that you’ve found your life’s purpose. Or you may be just now acting on aspirations that you were too afraid to reach for in the past.

Either way, this card speaks of a new burst of inspiration, a second wind, and the confidence with which to see it through.       The Three of Wands encourages you to push past your limitations and expand your horizons. It will mean stepping outside of your comfort zone and exploring uncharted territories. And while you run into pitfalls or have to take detours along the way, know that these are often blessing in disguise that can open up a whole new world of possibilities.

Libra: Queen of Swords

It’s time to get serious about the areas in your life that call for you to act with authority. You may have been waffling about important decisions in your life, or you may have been holding back when you should have been taking a stand,

But with Jupiter turning direct in your sign — and the New Moon taking place in your professional sector — you should be thinking more this month about moving up in the world and achieving your highest potential. In order to do that, you’re going to have to think about presenting yourself as a more authoritative figure.

This is not the time to play coy or skirt important issues. It’s not the time to mince words. The Queen of Swords — this version from the beautiful Gypsy Palace Tarot — paints a strong, confident and self-imposing figure. She’s not one to be trifled with. She knows what she wants and knows how to speak her mind. And so should you.

She may have gone through her share of trials and tribulations. She’s come by the wisdom and maturity she’s associated with honestly. She may be a solitary figure but she’s not lonely. She’s comfortable in her own skin because she’s earned the right to stand tall, proud and dignified on her own.

Look at the woman in this card. She’s not messing around. She’s either started the fire that surrounds her with a flick from her cigarette’s ash, or she’s a part of it — rising from the ashes like the powerful and vibrant Phoenix she resembles.

If this is someone in your life, know that she’s here to teach you how to incorporate these qualities into your own psyche. She may be a boss, a mentor or a parental figure. Or she may be someone you look up to who knows how to get things done. If on the other hand this is you, know that it’s time to put aside your fears and uncertainties and step up to the plate. In the end you will be rewarded for doing so through the respect and admiration of others.

Scorpio: Wealth

Now is the time to be thinking about your future, especially with respect to your security and financial stability.

The Wealth card — the Vision Quest Tarot’s version of the Ten of Pentacles — is about building your empire, on whatever scale that might be.

It’s about achieving success through hard work and determination, as well as the satisfaction that comes with knowing that it’s all going to pay off in the end. Not just for you but for family and loved ones, as this card is also about creating a legacy that can be built on for generations to come.

The “pentacles” in this version are ten intricately woven baskets, displayed alongside a bountiful harvest of summer fruits and winter vegetables. These are seen as a reminder of the importance of both appreciating what you have now and planning toward the future.

The greens and golds so prominent in this card are also significant. These are the colors associated with wealth, prosperity and abundance. Notice how the baskets are fashioned in the shape of a human form, lifted up on plentiful hills of grain — the earth’s most sustainable resource.

The Ten of Pentacles is about establishing a lasting legacy for yourself and your loved ones. It’s about enjoying and appreciating what you have while planning ahead for the future.

No matter how successful you are there’s always more to be done, especially as it pertains to creating something that will live on long after you’re gone. You may be thinking of starting a family or putting money aside for children you already have. You could also be in the process of giving birth to something else — a business, a creative endeavor or a body of work. Whatever it is, know that this is something you want to be proud of, so put the extra energy into making sure you do it right.

SAGITTARIUS: Nine of Pentacles

Now is the time to count your blessings and to express gratitude for all of the wonderful things you’ve accomplished in your life.

The Nine of Pentacles speaks of shifting your attitude to one of gratitude. It speaks of attracting abundance and prosperity — not just with respect to money and material possessions, but also to your own sense of self-worth.

It’s about being grateful for all you’ve acquired and recognizing that you deserve it. It’s about developing a prosperity consciousness, knowing that the Universe offers up unlimited abundance to those who do.

The Nine of Pentacles — this version from Sarah B. Seiter’s contribution to the beautiful 78 Tarot — represents that intricate and fulfilling balance between expressing gratitude and achieving prosperity.

The woman in this card looks like she may be struggling to maintain balance. She holds the strings to Nine Pentacles — five hanging from one hand and four from the other. And these are not just any old pentacles, they’re glowing disks with butterflies and pentagrams etched into them.

She may be dealing with conflicting priorities or she may have a hard time maintaining the equilibrium in her life. This is a key feature with the Nine of Pentacles. Balancing out the give and take in your life while still maintaining your priorities. Remember that whatever you put out there — whether it’s time, energy, money or yourself — as well as whatever you’re open to receiving, will all balance out and be replenished over time.

Two of Wands

CAPRICORN: Two of Wands

Be on the lookout this month for opportunities that are available to you which might not be so readily apparent from your current vantage point.

The Two of Wands speaks of having put an initial plan into action (with the Ace of Wands) and seeing it starting to gather momentum. It means that something has started to happen — something big enough to assure you that you’re on the right track, but not well-thought out enough yet to ensure that it’s a go.

Your ruler is still retrograding through your 12th house, which may see you second-guessing yourself or hesitating to put yourself “out there.” But Jupiter turns direct in your career sector this month too. While this transit provides the optimism and energy to see your goals to fruition, you may need to get some altitude — like the cat perched on the highest limb of this tree — to get a clearer overview.

We can see that the cat is both patient and alert — two of the most important (and necessary) features of the Two of Wands, which are both captured here in the simple imagery of this card. It’s the ability to balance these two qualities that makes getting to the finish line possible.

Notice that the lower branch is forked, indicating earlier missteps or changes in plans. The cat has wisely lept up to a higher perch where he can get a better view of the road ahead of him. The Two of Wands — this version from Erin Morgenstern’s Phantomwise Tarot — encourages you to expand your horizons and reach for broader vistas. It speaks of taking a look at your long-term goals and acting on them with courage and conviction. You’re already seeing how some moves are paying off, and are now in a position to take things to the next level.

If you’ve been hesitating due to fear or uncertainty, now is the time to put those worries aside. The Jupiter transit through your public sector says that all you aspire to is now within your grasp; you only need to muster up the confidence to go after it.

Ace of WandsAQUARIUS: Ace of Wands

Things are looking up for you this month with Venus and Uranus — your ruler — coming together in Aries. These transits bring with them a clearer insight and a renewed sense of confidence, passion and inspiration.

It’s a good time for you  to visualize and then work on manifesting your goals. Any new project you are thinking of starting now would be a great time to begin. The image on this Ace of Wands — from Stephanie Stephanie Pui-Mun Law and Barbara Moore’s fantastic Shadowscapes Tarot — suggests there is a correlation between what you are thinking of doing on a higher level and bringing it into your life. If this is the case it will not be difficult.

Things will fall into place for you almost seamlessly as your thoughts and actions correlate to what is around you and help comes from unexpected sources.

There is an abundance of energy for you whether this be physical or mental and with this energy plus more importantly you are able to channel this energy into whatever you are doing. This is a good day to plough through your workload. This is the energy you want to keep in mind as you work on manifesting your goals.

It is that raw, pure, unharnessed energy that is the Ace of Wands as it changes energetically from spark (idea) to flame (intention) to contact (manifestation). It’s about increased confidence, drive and enthusiasm. Ardor. Vitality. Passion. Creativity. Power. Potential.

The Ace of Wands invites you to ask yourself what you really want to do that you can put your whole heart and soul into. It invites you to offer your intentions up to the Universe with every reason to believe you will be rewarded for doing so. With this in mind, it’s time to push all negativity aside and replace it with optimism and inspiration. If you’re truly serious about manifesting your desires, there is no time like the present to do it.

Eight of CupsPisces: Eight of Cups

This month your ruler (Neptune) turns retrograde in your sign. While this can leave you feeling more vulnerable and self-protective, it’s going to be important to let go of your fears and allow yourself to trust that the Universe has your best interests at heart.

This version of the Eight of Cups — from Marie White’s Mary-el Tarot — has a very different take on what is traditionally seen as walking away or leaving behind something (or someone) that no longer serves you.

There’s also sense of moving toward something with the Eight of Cups. Moving toward a place of personal gratification, even if that journey begins with a heavy heart.

But in this version the emphasis is more on opening your heart and allowing yourself to become aligned with the potential of something more relevant and more fulfilling being in store for you in the end.

Here a small child is almost completely enveloped in a cocoon that has been fashioned by the pelt of a lion, which he draws close to him for comfort and protection. He’s empowered by his garment, the same way that Hercules was once empowered by his.

Marie says this is due to his natural ability to view the world without bitterness. He possesses both the strength of a lion and the innocence of a child, because he’s kept his heart open and his fears at bay. Notice the 6-pointed star of Ishtar on his wrist. This symbol is identified with Venus (the goddess and the planet) which is associated with purity, beauty and love.

No matter how painful the idea of walking away from something might be, consider that same scenario from the perspective of walking toward something instead. Take some time to wrap yourself in all that Neptunian energy, and allow yourself to become a more active participant in where your journey leads.

Forecast

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Astrology Forecast for the week of May 28, 2017 – Jun 3, 2017:

It’s going to be an eventful week for us all astrologically, starting with Mercury sextiling Neptune on Sunday. This aspect is good for meditating, journaling, or any type of creative communications (songwriting, poetry, composing love letters, etc.) It’s also a highly sensitive aspect that favors getting in touch with your intuition and paying attention to your dreams.

Mars opposes Saturn on Monday, just as Chiron inconjuncts the North Node. Starting with the Mars / Saturn opposition, this aspect pits the planet that is associated with action and aggression (Mars) against the planet associated with limitations and restrictions (Saturn). It’s often likened to having the pedal to the metal and driving full speed ahead (Mars) and plowing into a brick wall (Saturn).

It can be tremendously frustrating as you’re raring to go and the Universe is putting roadblocks in your path. No matter what you try to accomplish during this time, know that Saturn has the upper hand and that you will be met with challenges. It’s not the time to engage in any confrontational (or legally questionable) behaviors as you’re unlikely to come out unscathed.

Try to respect the wisdom of Saturn and accept that whatever limitations are in place are there for a reason, which will likely reveal itself to you in time.

Mercury trines Pluto on Wednesday, while Mars sextiles Uranus. The Mercury / Pluto aspect is excellent for digging deep and ferreting out information. It’s good for doing research and looking for hidden clues. It’s also good for deep, soulful meaningful conversations that get to the heart of the matter.

The Mars / Uranus trine is a high-energy aspect that can have you feeling like you can succeed in anything you set your sites on. There’s not a lot of forethought there; it’s all action, energy and innovation. It’s moving forward in leaps and bounds, breaking through whatever has held you back in the past and pushing past limitations.

On Thursday, Mars sextiles the North Node and Venus trines Saturn. Starting with the sextile to the North Node (which automatically trines the South Node), this aspect is all about taking an active role in group Interactions and discussions. It’s about cooperation and collaboration. You don’t want to lead and you don’t want to follow: remember that there needs to be a good balance between give and take with this transit.

Mars / Node transits can bring new people into the fold. People who will spur you on to take risks and to let go of your fears. Alternately it may be you giving the pep talks and helping others to reach their full potential. But don’t try to force your views on others or you could wind up alienating them.

The Venus / Saturn trine aspect describes a need for careful consideration of what you value and where you stand in your relationships. It’s a good time to sit down and have a heart to heart talk with a loved one. It brings depth and wisdom to your thinking, especially regarding matters of the heart.

On Friday, Mars squares Chiron, just before it moves into the final degree — called an Anaretic degree — of Gemini. This aspect can see you fighting against the urge to put your own needs aside in favor of the “greater good.” While that might seem like a valid endeavor, it can also skew your perceptions and see you fighting for something you may not believe in after all.

With Mars out of bounds and at an anaretic degree, it may behave a bit like a wild card here: increasing the impulsive and erratic energy that is already associated with Mars. And the Moon joins in (late in the day) turning this square to Chiron into a t-square. If you’re starting your weekend with a bang, be mindful of these transits and steer clear of confrontations with others.

Or better yet, hold off until Saturday, when Venus conjuncts Uranus in Aries, just as the Sun trines Mars. The Sun / Mars aspect is all about finding your stride and taking initiative to make things happen. This aspect is self-assured and confident. It’s perfect for manifesting your goals. It tells you that whatever you want to attain is completely within your reach and that now is the time to go after it.

The Venus / Uranus conjunction is more about establishing your own unique role in relationship. It’s about forging your own path and defining your own concept of relationship, without worrying about status quo expectations. Especially because this conjunction occurs in fiery, passionate and pioneering Aries.

It can bring someone new in, too — a sudden attraction to someone who goes against “type” and can manifest as love at first sight whirlwind romance. Venus and Uranus together can be exciting but somewhat erratic. So stay in the moment rather than projecting any long-term ideals onto a relationship that ignites during this transit.

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Astrology Forecast for the week of May 21, 2017 – May 27, 2017:

We start this week on Sunday with a moon in mysterious, ambiguous Pisces at the midpoint of Saturn and Mars. While this isn’t an easy aspect — it can translate as melancholy or even a bit morose — it does soften some of the tension and frustration that accompanies hard Saturn / Mars aspects.

In this case Saturn and Mars are moving into opposition (exact on the 29th) with the Moon at the apex of a loose t-square. Because the Moon is in Pisces, we may be more sensitive to the moods and whims of others, and because Mars is currently out of bounds, we may be more likely to feel under attack.

But fortunately lunar transits are fleeting, making this Moon / Saturn / Mars planetary picture more likely to pass by with barely a notice. The Moon goes void of course in the early morning hours, before it moves into Aries around 10 am.

Monday and Tuesday are relatively uneventful — as far as exact astrological aspects go  — but that doesn’t mean “nothing happens.” There are numerous major transits in play, several of them within very close orb.

The Moon is in Aries for all of Monday and part of Tuesday, before it moves into Taurus Tuesday afternoon. Monday’s lunar transits include an opposition to Jupiter. a conjunction to Venus and a sextile to Mars. These are all relatively benevolent transits that are good for socializing and interacting with others.

The Taurus Moon on Tuesday makes no major aspects. It is however exalted in Taurus and crosses its exact degree of exaltation at around 7pm (UT). The Taurus Moon can have us thinking about our value systems and the things that we hold near and dear, which as most of us know by now are not always “things.”

We can put good use to this energy by thinking about what is most meaningful for us, and what we can do to cultivate it during this time. It’s a good day to lounge around the house, listening to music, baking, decorating, and — depending on where in the world you are located — landscaping and gardening.

Moving onto Wednesday, the Moon is still in Taurus and conjuncts Mercury, sextiles Neptune and trines Pluto before the day is through. These transits are especially good for relaxing, meditating and getting grounded. These are all Taurus Moon activities, with the idea of comfort, luxury, and getting in touch with nature and the earth being the corresponding theme.

We have a New Moon at 4° Gemini 46 on Thursday at 7:44 pm UT (or 3:44pm EDT). As New Moons always represent new beginnings and opportunities to start anew, this one presents opportunities for gathering facts, communicating ideas and interacting with others.

Gemini is a dual sign, naturally prone to emotional twists and turns. It’s about being flexible and deftly juggling interests and opportunities.

The Gemini New Moon is adept at flitting from one interest to another, assimilating information and interacting with others. It’s good for communicating your ideas — in person or on paper — and also good for brushing up on your studies.

The Sabian Symbol for this degree is: “A Radical Magazine Or Publication, Asking For Action, Displays A Sensational Front Page.” It will be interesting to see how this symbol manifests given the current political climate and state of affairs.

Also on Thursday, Venus squares Pluto. This aspect can rain a bit on your parade, especially if you’ve been dealing with tension in your relationship. Venus is debilitated in Aries (the sign opposite Libra, which it naturally rules). This can manifest as impatience, aggression or irritability. Problems that have been simmering beneath the surface can come to a head and force you to confront your relationship problems head on.

This is not the time to deliver an ultimatum or back someone into a corner. This transit can be volatile and can lead to actions and decisions that can’t be taken back later. Choose your relationship battles wisely during this time — or better yet choose not to do battle at all.

The Moon continues moving through Gemini for all of Friday, with a trine to Jupiter, square to Neptune and sextile to Venus. These aspects are friendly and sociable but also relatively fleeting. They can be good for going out and partying on a Friday night, or having a few friends over for dinner.

We end the week with Mercury and Jupiter in an uncomfortable aspect — an inconjunct — on Saturday. This aspect is complicated by the fact that Jupiter is retrograde. As Mercury and Jupiter are natural polarities, there’s a tendency to struggle with indecision, uncertainty, or absent-mindedness when these two planets are not in harmony.

With respect to their current placements, you want to make sure you have all the facts before you arrive at a decision, hold off on making promises that you might not be able to keep, and in general get clear about what you believe in before you start preaching your beliefs to others. The upside of this transit though is that it forces you to reevaluate what you do stand for and to make whatever adjustments are necessary to accommodate changing ideals.
