Five of Wands

Five of Wands

You may be feeling like you’re being tossed about in a sea of uncertainty today as the turbulence that surrounds you threatens to disrupt the calm you so desperately crave.

The Five of Wands — this version from the Connolly Tarot — can indicate a sense of feeling overpowered or ganged up on. It commands you to take control of a situation that’s creating conflict in your life.

You may be embroiled in bitter disagreements with others (the traditional meaning of this card) or — like the figure we see in this version — moving against the tide.

In this respect you may feel like you’re out of sync with the rest of the world, fighting a losing battle, or up against insurmountable odds.

The Five of Wands represents conflict, strife, obstacles and challenges. It compels you to put up your dukes and fight, but before you do you might want to ask yourself, what exactly are you fighting for?

If you’re engaged in a battle of wills with someone, you may have to look at your role in the conflict. Pushing your views on others (or refusing to acknowledge theirs) can result in your winding up alone.

The important thing to remember is that most disagreements are based on misunderstandings in the first place. The inability to put ourselves in someone else’s shoes –- coupled with the need to be heard — is behind almost every argument out there. And this combination can be a recipe for disaster.

If you’re involved in a power struggle, you can bet there’ll be no winners or losers, only the tattered remains of what once was a unified front. The Five of Wands encourages you to move past the chaos and calamity, and work on restoring the peace. If you can see past your pride to work with others rather than against them, it will be much smoother sailing for you from here on out.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Sept 27, 2015 — Queen of Pentacles

Queen of Pentacles

 Queen of Pentacles

Have you been thinking of ways to establish more security for yourself and your loved ones? Not just financial security, but security in other areas of your life as well?

The Queen of Pentacles — this version from the Connolly Tarot — represents stability and durability. She appreciates the finer things in life and is not afraid to work for them. But she also wants to see returns on her investments, whether those investments are material, physical or emotional.

She’s is practical and efficient. She also tends to move a little more slowly and cautiously. For two reasons. One: she knows from experience that practical choices are more likely to pay off than get rich schemes in the end. And two: she wants to savor the life she’s built rather than scramble to earn her next buck without taking the time to appreciate what she’s gained.

The Queen of Pentacles likes to stay grounded. And she needs to feel that she’s contributing to her future and her financial security. But she knows that there is so much more to life than wealth and success. She knows you can work and earn and save to your heart’s content, but unless you can find a meaningful outlet for it, you’ll never be fulfilled.

She may appear calm and gentle, but she’s not a pushover. She stands firm in her convictions and does what it takes to achieve her goals. As a solid practical business woman, she weighs all of her options before she makes a move. At the same time she is sensuous, loving and supportive. She’s a devoted friend and ally.

She may be a person in your life, and if so you will know her by her calm, practical and efficient demeanor. But she may also represent qualities that you need to incorporate into your own personality. Qualities like wisdom, reliability, consistency and inner-strength. Comfort. Courtesy. Common sense. Warmth, generosity and compassion.

Take some time right now to think about “business;” as in how you deal with security and what steps you’ve made toward planning for your future. It may require you to make some short-term sacrifices. But what you gain in return — through hard work, discipline and perseverance — will make it all worthwhile in the end.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jun 13, 2015 — King of Pentacles

King of Pentacles

King of Pentacles

Today’s Moon in Taurus may see you making plans for the future. You might be thinking about starting a business, feathering your nest egg, or looking for ways to establish security for you and your loved ones.

The King of Pentacles — this version from the Connolly Tarot — refers to an individual who has reached the pinnacle of success through hard work and determination. He represents power, authority, ambition and worldly acclaim.

This could be you or it could be someone in your life, such as a parent, teacher, mentor or boss. It could also represent a set of attitudes you need to adopt in order to attain your goals.

The King in this card is dressed in the finest royal attire. He is seated on his throne, surrounded by the fruits of his labors as he keeps a watchful eye over his kingdom. The Pentacle in his hand represents prosperity, the flowers represent beauty and grape vines represent sustenance.

Where do you see yourself five years from now? What about ten or twenty? And what steps are you taking today to manifest that vision? Even though the King of Pentacles is a “King,” he didn’t arrive at his station by sitting around doing nothing.

He had to work his way to the top and once there must maintain his position, even if he’s comfortable enough to relax and enjoy all he’s accomplished.

The King of Pentacles has his feet planted firmly on the ground. He’s a businessman, a entrepreneur, a financial advisor — in general a self-made man. And while you do want to be practical about putting together your long term goals, you want to be careful not to get stuck in a rut. Just like the King in this card, it would do you a world of good to stop and smell those flowers from time to time. All work and no play isn’t good for anyone, least of all you.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Mar 2, 2015 — Knight of Cups

Knight of Cups

Knight of Cups

Today you may find yourself the happy recipient of a pleasant surprise, an unexpected gift, or reassurances of love and affection from someone near and dear to your heart.

The Knight of Cups may represent a person in your life; if so he or she may come sweeping in, professing feelings of love and adoration that are going to be hard to resist.

As Venus conjuncts the South Node today, your “knight in shining armor” may even be someone from your past, as in a past life connection or an old flame.

The Knight of Cups — this version from the Connolly Tarot — is a sensitive and romantic individual (usually male) who leads with his heart. He’s in love with love and may be somewhat moody or overly sentimental.

This version is ardent and passionate as well: notice the vivid reds and fuschias that are so prominent in this card. In addition to the skyline, there’s his cloak and his gloves and the plumes in his helmet — and even the horse’s tassels are bathed in hot pink.

This Knight isn’t messing around: He’s going all out — or all in in this case — as evidenced by the single red (representing love) and white (representing marriage) roses he lifts up in his golden chalice.

While today’s news may not manifest as an actual proposal, be prepared for good news or some validation of your feelings — if only a small gesture. While the Knight of Cups is known for his extravagance, he can also be quite subtle. He may just sneak up on you when you least expect it.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Dec 3, 2014 — King of Swords

King of Swords

King of Swords

There is strength in words today both written and spoken.

The King of Swords has a very quick mind. He is intellectual, clever and in a state of activity.

Today you may find that you are constantly on the go. You have so many things to take care of that you don’t get a chance to sit down. As soon as one thing I finished something else pops up to take your attention.

As can be seen from this image you have the capacity, imagination and intellect to see your ideas through but you may find there are so many things happening at once that you overlooks something.

A list may help with this as you seem to be so unindated that what you miss is something that is needed and shouldn’t be forgotten.

There is a sense of spirituality to the colours of the flowing robes which are layer upon layer suggesting there are many depths to circumstances that arise today and don’t just take something at face value.

The gleaming sword almost touching the temple shows that as soon as a thought is perceived then action is taken. There is precious little sitting about for you today even though you may try to sneak a rest here and there.

Not everything will be about words today though. The gem on the crown covers the third eye which means that your intuition is well and truly in play. Trust it and give it credence because in the end it may be all you have to rely on.
