Free Daily Tarotscope — Dec 28, 2015 — Nine of Cups

Nine of Cups

Nine of Cups

Mercury trines the North Node today and sextiles the South Node. This transit is all about making meaningful connections — with the people that you love as well as with yourself.

Think about what makes you truly happy and chances are good it’s the simple things in life. Home, family, friends, health, material comforts and peace of mind. If you’re not where you want to be just yet, think of ways to change that.

The Nine of Cups — this version from the Star Tarot — is about manifesting your heart’s desires. Nothing is taken for granted and nothing is left to chance. It’s about aligning yourself with the Universal laws of attraction and getting what you deserve.

The Cups in this card are all overflowing. They’re filled with love, gratitude and abundance, which are endlessly intertwined. They’re filled with hopes, dreams and miracles which are yours for the taking.

The Nine of Cups is a card of satisfaction, fulfillment and contentment. It speaks of being more than just satisfied with your lot in life, but also feeling truly blessed and grateful with where you are.

This card is called “Happiness” in some decks and the “Wish card” in others. But those aren’t always the same thing. So be careful what you wish for as it may or may not bring you happiness.

Take some time to think about what you really want today — and don’t forget to be grateful for what you already have. There’s an intricate balance between gratitude and personal fulfillment, so make sure you’re putting enough energy and effort into both.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Sept 18, 2015 — Prince of Wands

Prince of Pentacles

Prince of Wands

If there is something you have been aiming for and not sure how to accomplish it then this is the time to jump in with both feet and just go for it!

The Prince of Wands — this version from Kathy McClelland’s Star Tarot — implies that you have many changes coming your way and you are not afraid to reach out and grab them. There are tools around for you to use that facilitate the journey you take to bring about these changes.

The Unicorn in this card and the background it runs in front of suggests that for a while now you have not been sure what to do but you have never given up knowing that you are going to do something big.

Suddenly, the answers have come to you and your joy is written across your face for everyone to see. Nothing will hold you back; if anyone tries they’ll have more to contend with than they realise.

Your hopes, dreams and wishes are coming from your heart today. You have the strength to see them through and the resources to back you up.

You may need some further tweaking to your plan but rest assured it is a good plan and as it begins it will quickly come together as if nothing can hold it back. Its time to come out of the darkness and spread your message across to all around you. You know exactly what you want and how to get it.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jul 30, 2015 — Seven of Pentacles

Seven of Pentacles

Seven of Pentacles

You may find yourself at a professional crossroads today, feeling torn between following your dreams and doing what’s already proven itself to be safe and secure.

The Seven of Pentacles — like all Sevens — represents choices and dilemmas. With respect to your work or business, it can translate to feeling like you’re missing our on something by doing what you do really well but that your heart just isn’t into.

Mercury inconjuncts Pluto today, bringing with it the potential for temptations to turn into full-fledged compulsions and obsessions.

Sometimes we have to make sacrifices (also a hallmark of the tarot’s Seven cards). We can give up our job security in order to pursue our dreams; or we can give up our dreams in order to maintain our job security. It’s a catch-22.

The woman in this card — from Cathy McClelland’s fantastic Star Tarot — is faced just such a dilemma. She can’t decide whether she wants to throw herself fully into her work — which she’s already invested energy in and which is also already clearly producing results — or whether she wants to move in a completely different direction.

The colorful horses galloping across the sky seem to be calling out to her to follow. These are her dreams and aspirations, none yet fully formed. There are Seven of them — just as there are Seven Pentacles and Seven butterflies, all representing different choices and opportunities.

You’ll have to think about what is most important to you today as the Seven of Pentacles is a card of priorities as well as choices. Ideally you’ll find a way to turn what you dream of doing and what you are doing into one and the same. This is all any of us can hope for in the end.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jun 28, 2015 — Five of Cups

Five of Cups

Five of Cups

You may be experiencing feelings of loneliness and isolation today and if so you might want to ask yourself whether you’re seeing the full picture.

The Five of Cups is often tied to feelings of disappointment and regret. You may be feeling shut out at time when you most needed to be let in; rejected at a time when you most wanted to feel included.

There may be some anger here as well, as in feeling duped in some way or betrayed. But in this version — from Cathy McClelland’s gorgeous Star Tarot —  the emphasis is more on what has been lost than on what can be gained.

The woman in this card focuses on the three cups spilled at her feet rather than the two that are still left and are overflowing with symbols of happiness and joy.

She can’t even see them as she’s so busy protecting herself from the elements (the rain and storm clouds brewing behind her) and focusing on what she’s lost.

A New Day is dawning right behind her and all she has to do to see it is look up. There are butterflies following the path of a rainbow, which separates the night from the day.  There are new experiences to be had — including new social opportunities (the butterflies) — and hope for the future (the rainbow), as well as the potential for seeing things in a whole new light (the Sunrise).

While it may be necessary to take the time to properly mourn a loss, keep in mind that this never means your chance at happiness is over. The Five of Cups may force you to acknowledge a loss, but it also opens the door to new beginnings as long as you are willing to look up.

Six of Wands

Six of Wands

Your heart soars as you race to victory on the wings of your own current good sense and ability to see the larger picture.

Is there something you have been aiming for that has possibly seemed out of reach? If so, this is the month to reach out, grab it and make it your own.

There is a sense of a deeper meaning to your quest as the circular images within the sunflowers show you that even as you think you are at the end of something you may actually be on the verge of something else.

You may not know where it will take you but what you do know is that it is for your greater good and that there is a fair degree of growth attached to it. Intellectually you are soaring.

This is a good day to put your head down and study or if you have written work to complete now is the time to do so.  The path you are on is about to take you on a leap possibly beyond your wildest dreams and you should be aiming high as that star is easily within your reach.

Speaking of dreams… you may find that if you sit down and do a bit of day dreaming your goal will come to you sooner especially as your heart is attached to what you desire. This is a great time to do some manifesting when it comes to your love life.

The object of your affection looks to be new to your life and also seems to be linked to a wish you have made. Best sit down with that pen and paper and make a list of what you do want… and while you’re at it keep your thoughts away from what you don’t want.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Apr 15, 2015 — Three of Swords

Three of Swords

Three of Swords

Today — with the planet of love (Venus) in opposition to the planet of obstacles, restrictions and life lessons (Saturn) — you may be confronted with some painful realities about the state of your relationships.

You may be disappointed by a loved one’s actions or feeling dejected about their lack of attention. Or you may be healing from a recent breakup.

If you’re single, you may be looking back at some of your past connections and seeing where things haven’t ended the way you wanted. Either way it’s going to be about conceding some loss and heartache that has to be dealt with before you can move forward.

The Three of Swords is often associated with emotional disharmony, heartache and separation. And you could be dealing with the fallout from all of these things. But keep in mind that disharmony is usually rooted in misunderstanding, or at the very least a misassumption about your role in someone else’s life.

Look at how the “teardrops” that fall from the storm clouds turn into bright twinkling stars before they hit the ground.

And notice the angels swooping in to comfort the grieving woman — if only she’d open her eyes. Could it be that there’s not only a silver lining to those storm clouds but also a saving grace?

Yes the Three of Swords is painful. The Swords that are shattering the heart are cold and relentless. The tears the woman cries are real. But it can be said that the swords breaking through the heart represent a necessary separation. A need to “cut through” that which is no longer serving you, in the spirit of making room for what does.

The Three of Swords doesn’t have to mean an ending. But it does refer to a lancing and releasing of whatever needs to released. If there is something (or someone) you’ve been struggling to let go of, now is the time to make the effort to do so. It’s the severing of all that’s been holding you back that will permit you to finally start moving forward again.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Mar 25, 2015 — The Emperor

The Emperor

The Emperor

Today’s Sun / Saturn trine can make what’s seemed like hard work in the past now feel almost effortless. What better way to use this energy than to channel it into something productive and success-oriented?

The Emperor card is all about stepping up to the plate and assuming a position of authority. It’s about striving for personal and professional success. And it’s about wielding your personal power in a fair and just manner.

The Emperor in this version — from Cathy McClelland’s gorgeous Star Tarot — is seated on a throne beneath a Sun / Moon / Star formation. The Sun and Moon are involved in an eclipse pattern, with the Morning star Venus shining between them. The white and black stallions on either side represent both masculine and feminine energy, and the lion cub illustrates his ability to soothe and guide those who look up to him for leadership.

The dragon slumbering beneath his feet represents the four elements as well as the spiritual power he possesses. The Emperor is the 4th card, and the references to the number four are repeated throughout the imagery of this card.

The four elements as stated above, but also the four seasons, the four directions and four phases of the moon and four geometric shapes — circle, square, triangle and line — are also all referenced here.

The message behind this card is one of taking care of business. It’s not the time to be passive or wishy-washy. It’s all about stepping up and taking control of a situation that requires a firm hand and authoritative presence.

Whether you are a parent doling out “tough love” or a supervisor having to strong arm an employee or just taking back your power in a personal relationship, remember it’s important to temper that with kindness and compassion. Just like the wise old Emperor in this card, a protective gentle approach is just as important as a firm steady hand.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Dec 26, 2014 — The Hermit

Hermit

The Hermit

After all the fanfare of yesterday you may be feeling a little more like some solitude today.

The Hermit is a card of going inside yourself to find your own strength and your own truth.

It is a card of wisdom… specifically the type of wisdom that comes from your own thoughts and experiences.

Sometimes when you have a problem or a goal there is only so much of the path forward that you can see. In this version of the card there is a distinctive area which is lighted by the illumination of the lantern whilst the remainder of the “picture” is outside of this illuminated area.

This does not mean you need to worry about what you cannot see and by and large what is outside the illuminated area is pretty dangerous including the cliff face immediately underfoot.

Nevertheless there doesn’t seem to be any risk you’ll take a step in the wrong direction. You’re well aware of what’s going on, what your part is in it and more important what you part is not in it thereby keeping your boundaries. Knowing if you overstep these boundaries you may very well find yourself in a perilous situation or at the very least one you do not want to be in.

The owl shows wisdom and this owl is alert! It is ready to alight if needs be and also surveying an area of your life that you may not be thinking about too strongly. For this reason you may find you begin to think of different areas of your life not with panic or worry but more with wisdom and answers to how you can change things.

If nothing else you can be assured you will have help and whilst this help seems to come from within you there is also a strength to you today that you know you do not have to hold everything together on your own. The staff in your hand is strong and steady… as are your thoughts and actions.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Nov 28, 2014 — Seven of Wands

Seven of Wands

You are well protected today with the ability to take your ideas forward into other areas of your life without fear of what may happen next.

It seems you have spent a lot of time building power both within and without yourself and it is time to call this power forth now and use it to realise your goals.

You have the strength to accomplish anything you want and all it takes is that first step for the goal to roar forth.

What you are wishing for comes from your heart, intellect and intuition. Nothing and no one will hold you back as you have made sure everything is in place and you are well protected from anything going wrong.

Not for you the gentle energy that courses through one when they are getting ready to release a new project or chapter in their life.

You have planned this change for a while and know exactly how much energy you need to put into it.

The stars allow you to make more than one wish.

The lion gives you energy and a voice to be heard while you stand within a protected circle and launch what you have been hoping to begin for a while.

This image reminds me of manifesting and if you are wanting to manifest something today use this image to alter your mind and focus your intentions on what it is you hope to manifest into your life and expect it to happen.

Everything starts with a thought… today your thoughts are shouting!

Free Daily Tarotscope — Oct 23, 2014 — Death

Death

Death

As the new moon solar eclipse hits off today at 1 degree Scorpio you have the chance to consider your life anew.

Not only is the moon new but Venus is conjunct this aspect which will nicely allow you to consider your relationship and if this is not enough Mercury is almost ready to turn station and turn direct… once again allowing you to put your plans into action.

You may feel as if you have been handed a “golden opportunity” today and it is an opportunity that comes with change.

If you have been trying to change direction in any area of your life then now is the time to set the wheels in motion.

There is much to be happy and enthusiastic about as one thing after another changes for you and you are left with possibly not one but several directions in which to go next. It is almost as if a guardian angel surrounds you and illuminates the next step you should take.

If you have recently felt stuck or found yourself with many setbacks which have not only hampered your progress but put you out of sorts within yourself and left you emotionally drained then rest assured you are about to soar.

August 2014 Tarot Scopes featuring the Star Tarot

Aries:  Strength

If you find yourself needing to draw on inner strength this month or gain help from those around you then don’t be afraid to ask.

You are not alone and you have plenty of resources to help you along your path. Even though you cannot see the final outcome you have an inner “knowingness” to help you on your way.

As the month progresses you should be feeling the changes around you as you seem to shed your skin and grow a new one… meaning… the changes you implement around you in your environment are coming from within and yourself as opposed to outside forces.

If there is a relationship you feel has outgrown its purpose and has been holding you back then you are well and truly on the road to releasing yourself from its clutches and what’s more you have the strength and resources to back you up.

Reach out to anyone you think may be of help to you now as you start your new cycle.

The moon in the background of this card may seem to be either in its first or last quarter or if you look at it again it could even be seen as an eclipse… and eclipses mean change!

Free Daily Tarotscope — July 3, 2014 — The Chariot

The Chariot

The Chariot

The Chariot card is all about pulling all of your resources together to overcome the obstacles that are standing in your way. It’s about “taking charge” of your life — your goals, your decisions and your destiny — rather than just going along for the ride.

As with most versions of this card, the central figures are two rearing stallions and a Charioteer who is harnessing their divergent energies. But in this rendition the stallions are replaced by a white and black Pegasus, each pulling in different directions.

If you look closely though, they do overlap in the middle, right below the ankh — or “key of life” — symbol. The black and white references — day and night, good and evil, positive and negative, conscious and unconscious, etc. serve as a reminder that we need to harness those divergent forces in order to achieve mastery.

The Charioteer himself is clothed in ceremonial garb. Esoteric symbols — including the astrological glyphs associated with the zodiac and planets — are placed all around then, and are addressed in detail in the artist’s interpretation of this card.

What stood out for me though was the effortless way in which the Charioteer takes command of these creatures, guiding them through a sort of constellational sea, far beyond the reaches of civilization.
