Weekly Astro Forecast — Jan 15, 2017 – Jan 21, 2017

Forecast

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Jan 15, 2017 – Jan 21, 2017:

This week starts on Sunday with a Void of Course Moon — still full — in Leo. As Leo is the sign associated with creativity, self-expression, purpose and will, this Moon is great for putting yourself out there and showing the rest of the world what you’re made of.

However, the fact that it’s void of course, combined with its movement into Virgo in the early morning hours, may very well dull some of these influences. The Virgo Moon almost immediately trines Mercury in Capricorn, shifting our collective focus toward areas like health, work, productively, and issues of self-improvement.

The Moon is still in Virgo on Monday, forming several oppositions to a lineup of planets in Pisces. It opposes Neptune (late Sunday night), and then Venus, Mars and Chiron before the day is through. You may have difficulty seeing eye to eye with others during this time, or or you may feel like your motivations are being called into question.

You may also struggle to interpret the signals you’re getting from others, as the Moon’s opposition to these Piscean planets can lead to confusion, uncertainty and even paranoia. It’s not the time to jump to conclusions or make mountains out of molehills. As Venus and Neptune are both currently besieged, there is also greater potential for misunderstandings to arise.

Tuesday’s Mars / Chiron conjunction is a gentle warrior aspect. It can manifest as a desire to stand up for those who are unable to stand up for themselves. it can also make it easier for us to see and acknowledge other people’s points of view.

This is reinforced by the fact that these planets are moving through Pisces, the sign associated with empathy, compassion, self-sacrifice and altruism. This aspect strives to honor and embrace interpersonal differences and seeks to gain a better understanding of them.

It’s important to keep this in mind as Mars and Jupiter will move into an inconjunct aspect on Wednesday, which can briefly see you questioning the way you go about getting what you want. The inconjunct aspect calls for adjustments, and in this case it’s going to mean finding a middle ground between your desire to make things happen (Mars) and your tendency to rely on sheer luck (Jupiter).

The Moon joins in later in the day — and on into Thursday — emphasizing the Jupiter portion of this aspect. This can mark a period of feeling overly optimistic and expansive, but be careful: Mars and Jupiter in stressful aspect can wreak havoc in your life, which can impact on the lives of those around you.

The Sun enters Aquarius on Thursday. The Sun (ego, will, Self, etc.) moving into Aquarius — the sign associated with the Water Bearer, known for pouring wisdom, progress and humanitarian ideals into the collective unconscious — inspires us to start marching to the beat of our own drums, to think outside the box and to take the roads less traveled.

The Sun in Aquarius represents a time when the Ego is introduced into the collective and we start seeing ourselves as part of something bigger — bigger than our homes, families and cities. Bigger than our states and countries. We see ourselves as unique individuals — a tiny and potentially insignificant microcosm — in a much larger and more significant macrocosm, known as humanity.

Also on Thursday, Mercury trines the North Node and Mars squares Saturn. The Mercury / Node aspect is all about developing a comfortable rapport with others. It’s about generating a meeting of the minds and communing with those who are on the same page. As the North and South Nodes are always in opposition, the North Node trines Mercury at the same time it sextiles the South Node. Think of this as a relatively painless give and take, especially with regard to your social connections.

The Mars / Saturn aspect is more difficult. This aspect is often likened to having the pedal to the metal and driving full speed ahead (Mars) and plowing into a brick wall (Saturn). It can be tremendously frustrating as you’re raring to go and the Universe is putting roadblocks in your path. Especially since this aspect encapsulates several other planets (Mercury, Pluto, Sun, Neptune, Venus and Chiron) rendering them astrologically “besieged.”

No matter what you try to accomplish during this time, know that Saturn has the upper hand and that you will be met with challenges. It’s not the time to engage in any confrontational (or legally questionable) behaviors as you’re unlikely to come out unscathed. Try to respect the wisdom of Saturn and accept that whatever limitations are in place are there for a reason, which will likely reveal itself to you in time.

Venus sextiles Pluto on Friday, bringing the famous “urge to merge” back to the forefront. Don’t be surprised if a partner or love interest starts trying to get frisky with you. It’s an alluring, seductive aspect that is known for its sex appeal and rarely fails to deliver.

With the Moon moving into Scorpio early in the day, romance, fantasy, imagination and sexual magnetism are all emphasized, so don’t be afraid to take advantage of the energy and spice up your love life.

That Scorpio Moon makes one favorable aspect after another all through the day, continuing into Saturday, when it sextiles Pluto and then trines Venus, Chiron and Mars before the day is done. This should see your weekend shaping up into a pleasant (and potentially romantic) period where you can get a lot more accomplished making love than you will by making war.
