Weekly Astrology Forecast — Apr 2, 2018 – Apr 8, 2018:

Forecast

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Apr 2, 2018 – Apr 8, 2018:

This week starts on Monday with a Mars / Saturn conjunction in Capricorn. Both of these planets are dignified in Capricorn with Mars exalted there and Saturn as its natural ruler. In general, this aspect is all about “putting the brakes on,” which means holding back and taking all outcomes into consideration before acting on important decisions.

But this is a powerful configuration that is especially prominent this week (with all of the Saturn / Capricorn emphasis that is currently taking place in the night skies). As with all Mars / Saturn aspects, you may feel frustrated by delays or obstacles that seem to be standing in your way. But this conjunction gives you the discipline and fortitude to pull that funnel that frustration into planning, knowing that you’ll be all the more prepared than ever to strike when the time is ready.

The asteroid Vesta also moves into Capricorn on Monday, in sextile to the Scorpio Moon. With both of these bodies at 0 degrees, you may feel an increased desire for privacy and alone time. It’s good for getting in touch with your dreams, both literally and figuratively.

Tuesday’s Scorpio Moon trines Neptune and squares its Nodes. The Moon / Neptune portion of this aspect encourages you to pay attention to your dreams, follow your intuition and heed your own inner voice. It speaks of finding your place in the Universe and becoming one with it in the process.

The square to the Nodes is a little trickier as they are karmic in nature and refer to people who come in to facilitate your own evolutionary process. The square says that these encounters are likely to be challenging, forcing you to look at your own “stuff’ rather than projecting it on to others.

Mercury squares Mars on Wednesday. This is a recurrence of an earlier square which took place before Mercury went retrograde and will take place again after it goes direct.

This aspect can be tempestuous so consider taking a breath and count to 10 before you speak — especially if what you say can come across to others as angry or abrasive. It can manifest as harsh words, confrontations, temper tantrums and impatience. And it can also be careless and / or reckless which translates to “accident prone.” Watch your step during this transit, in more ways than one.

Because Saturn and Mars are still so closely conjunct, the square between Mercury and Mars is followed up by another square — this one between Mercury and Saturn — on Thursday. This is more of that “wakeup call” energy, with a reality check thrown in for good measure.

This aspect can bring feelings of melancholy to the surface. It can manifest as boredom or apathy. It can leave you seeing the glass as half empty rather than half full. If you find yourself asking “what’s the use?” or “why even bother?” try to shift your thinking, as this transit can see you wallowing in your own misery.

On Friday, the Moon joins in, moving into Capricorn late in the day, and joining Saturn, Mars and Pluto there. All this Capricorn energy may see you wanting to simplify and remove all of the clutter that’s accumulated in your life. It refers to getting serious about your goals, your profession and your public standing.

This is a time for looking at what’s important, and weeding out what is no longer useful for you or conducive to your growth. While the Moon portion of this configuration will only be in effect for a few days, it’s still significant in that it increases and emphasizes all this Capricorn energy.

On Saturday, Venus trines Saturn. Both of these planets are in the sign they rule, which makes this transit all the more powerful. It  describes a need for careful consideration of what you value and where you stand in your relationships. It’s a good time to sit down and have a heart to heart talk with a loved one. It brings depth and wisdom to your thinking, especially regarding matters of the heart.

Also on Saturday, Mars inconjuncts the North Node (and simultaneously semi-sextiles the South Node). At the same time, the Moon will be briefly (for about 5 hours) besieged by Mars and Saturn. This is not going to be the time to make decisions that are based on emotions or instincts. And it’s not going to be the time to act rashly or impulsively.

The Moon moves into last-quarter phase — at 18 Capricorn (which is closely conjunct Pluto and sextile to Jupiter) — on Sunday morning. The last-quarter Moon falls right into the rest of the week’s Saturn/ Capricorn theme, as it associated with career, reputation and public standing.

As the first and last quarters are related to crises, you may not get to rest much over the weekend, as you’re just as likely to be thinking about work (and responsibilities in general) as you will be during the week. Fortunately it forms mostly pleasant aspects, and ends the weekend on a harmonious note.
