Weekly Astrology Forecast — Jul 2, 2017 – Jul 8, 2017

Forecast

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Jul 2, 2017 – Jul 8, 2017:

This week starts on Sunday with a tense Mercury / Mars / Pluto aspect that can see tempers flaring and conflicts arising. Emotions are likely to be running high, as are impatience and impulsivity. You want to think before you speak, especially if speaking turns into lashing out at others.

Mercury, Mars and Pluto in this kind of tense aspect can also manifest as carelessness and recklessness. This is an accident-prone transit which can be minor (small cuts, burns, bruises, etc.) or major (automobile accidents, fires and physical violence). Do what you can to release any tension in the safety of your home — or gym — so that it doesn’t come at you from the outside.

This aspect can supercharge relationship conflicts and volatility. Egos are on the line here and you may find yourself embroiled in a battle that you have no idea how it started. Physical exercise is one of the best ways to release this kind of tension so think about making love not war during this time.

Remember that this transit is fleeting and will pass in a matter of days, so think about what might be said that you won’t be able to take back later.

Venus steps in and sextiles Chiron on Monday. In contrast to the Mercury / Mars / Pluto configuration, this transit can be a breath of fresh air. It can see you becoming more aware of your own capacity for giving and for being able to put yourself in other people’s shoes.

This is a charitable aspect that compels you to reach into the very depths of your soul — where compassion, forgiveness and understanding all reside — and bring forth that which is within you in order to pass it onto others.

Venus is at the final (29th) degree of Taurus on Tuesday. The final s is known as the “anaretic degree,” which is said to be fated. As Venus rules Taurus (as well as Libra) it’s said to be dignified there, and is made all the more powerful by its placement in Taurus’ final degree.

Of course that means that Venus is leaving Taurus and moving into Gemini. Venus is the esoteric ruler of Gemini, as the catalyst through which the concept of “Love” first emerges — through connecting, interacting and most importantly communicating with others.

It enters Gemini just after midnight (UT) on Wednesday (or late Tuesday evening in the states). Venus in Gemini is playful, curious and spontaneous. It’s a feminine planet in a dual sign, which means it can also be restless, changeable and fickle in the relationship department.

Also on Wednesday, Mercury squares Uranus and trines Chiron. This combination is tricky, as the first portion (Mercury square Uranus) can be combative and argumentative while the other portion (Mercury trine Chiron) is generally compassionate and forgiving.

As Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury, the square between them is made all the more challenging. It can manifest as an overwhelming need to be “right.” It can be opinionated and argumentative. If you don’t want to risk alienating everyone around you, your best bet will be to bite your tongue and keep your opinions to yourself, at least for the next day or so.

The trine to Chiron is much more harmonious and can offset some of that confrontational Mercury / Uranus energy. It brings elements like compassion, humility and tolerance to the mix, which makes social interactions so much more pleasant. As both of Mercury and Chiron are in water signs, the capacity for understanding others and being able to put yourself in their shoes — as well as the ability to express genuine caring and compassion for those who aren’t always so easy to love — is greatly enhanced.

On Thursday, Mercury moves into Leo, just as the Sun trines Neptune and squares Jupiter. Mercury in Leo marks a time for expressing your feelings for others without hesitation or fear. Mercury in warm, expressive, benevolent Leo wants to impress. It wants to communicate through words and through grand and extravagant gestures.

The Sun / Jupiter square can manifest as feeling so expansive and gregarious that you end up biting off more than you can chew or promising more than you can deliver. The combination of enthusiasm and benevolence can get you thinking you can do more than you really can. And while your heart may be in the right place, your inability to follow through can get you into hot water.

This aspect is known for over-indulging, over-extending and over-committing. In other words overdoing everything. You may be feeling so jovial and so overconfident that you have a hard time reigning in it and exercising any real discipline.

The trine to Neptune can increase your sensitivity to outside influences and leave you feeling more susceptible to psychic impressions. This transit can help you wind down your work week on a mellow note; so mellow in fact that you may decide to stay in for the weekend rather than venturing out. It’s a good time to pay attention to your dreams, meditate, get in touch with your creativity and heed your inner voice.

Venus sextiles Mercury on Friday. This is a relatively common aspect as these two planets remain close to one another and never form an aspect to one another outside of the conjunction or sextile. It’s a favorable configuration that can see us winding down the week on a pleasant note.

This aspect is all about communion and collaboration. It’s a gracious and accommodating aspect that acts as a conduit for understanding. As Mercury is the planet associated with words, ideas, and the exchange of information, and Venus is the planet associated with fairness and cooperation, bringing them together in a harmonious (sextile) aspect can make for some very pleasant conversations.

This is a time to get in touch with your softer, gentler side. See the beauty all around you — in nature, in the music and the arts, and in friends, loved ones and strangers. Let your imagination take flight and open your heart to those who may need little more than a kind word or a shoulder to lean on.

That’s it for now. See you next week!
