Weekly Astrology Forecast — Sep 17, 2018 – Sep 23, 2018:

Forecast

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Sep 17, 2018 – Sep 23, 2018:

This week starts on Monday, with a first-quarter (and void of course) Moon in Sagittarius. The first-quarter Moon is tied to home, family, security, emotions and needs (among other things). While Sagittarius isn’t particularly comfortable in any of these areas, there are plenty of positive attributes associated with the Sagittarian Moon. Optimism, for one thing. Generosity for another. It’s also good for being truthful about your feelings and for expanding your emotional horizons.

With respect to the void of course Moon, this is a relatively common occurrence. It marks the period of time between the Moon’s last aspect in one sign and its ingress into the next. in this case it will remain void of course until it moves into Capricorn, at around 11 am (UT). The void of course Moon can see you feeling aimless or adrift in a sea of uncertainty, but since it’s in Sagittarius you probably won’t run out of interesting things to ponder.

On Tuesday, Mars squares Uranus. This aspect can be combative and erratic. It can manifest as temper tantrums, angry outbursts or rash decisions that can lead result in accident-prone behavior.

These  re volatile planets and this combination can manifest as irritability, impatience and irrational anger. Take the “I” out of this equation and make sure that you’re not contributing to any of it. You may need to find a physical outlet for all that pent up energy, or have it worked out for you therapeutically, via bodywork or massage.

Wednesday and Thursday are relatively uneventful as far as exact planetary aspects are concerned, but that doesn’t mean that nothing’s happening. There are still always transits in play: planets interacting with one another and blending or communicating their unique energies.

The Moon is in Capricorn on Wednesday, first conjuncting Pluto, then sextiling Jupiter and finally trining the Sun and Mercury before the day is through. Although the Moon is in detriment in Capricorn, there are many positive attributes associated with the Capricorn Moon. It’s good for simplifying and clearing away the debris in your life: the dead wood that has accumulated and stalled your progress.

On Thursday, the Moon is in early Aquarius, and completes several aspects to other planets — including a sextile to Chiron, square to Uranus, conjunction to Mars, conjunction to the South Node, and square to Venus — before the day is through.

The Aquarius Moon emphasizes humanitarian ideals; recognizing that there’s a place in the world for all of us and that we each have something unique to contribute. It also emphasizes progress, rebellion and social activism.  It speaks of figuring out who we are as a unique individuals, and what impact we want to make on the world at large.

The Sun conjuncts Mercury on Friday. Mercury both rules and is exalted in Virgo, a condition that’s bolstered by its conjunction to the Sun. But the exact conjunction comes with its own set of issues. It’s known as combust, or in this case as an exact conjunction, “cazimi’ (in the heart of the Sun).

Its influence is said to be heightened and energized, but because Mercury is essentially “hidden” by the Sun, this aspect can be somewhat problematic. The main thing to watch for is information that is hidden or lacking which can result in making ill-informed decisions.

Mercury enters Libra on Saturday, paving the way for pleasant conversation and social interactions. Mercury in Libra is objective, impartial and fair. It’s good at exercising tact and diplomacy, but not so good at making decisions. You may feel the need to weigh the pros and cons of every situation before you reach a conclusion, and even then you’re likely to settle on a middle ground.

Mercury in Libra — especially at 0 degrees — is known to struggle with indecision. It tends to vacillate or straddle the fence rather than take a stand. It’s good for debating and arbitrating, as it’s able to see the validity in any side of an argument. But it can also be frustratingly wishy-washy, and because it’s also opposing Chiron, it can can see you feeling inadequate or wallowing in self-pity.

Mars conjuncts the South Node (in Aquarius) also on Saturday.  This contact encourages you to be mindful of your actions (and your reactions) as the South Node is tied to karmic events and repercussions. This transit is also determining your role in group interactions. Remember that there needs to be a good balance between give and take: don’t try to force your views on others, or you could wind up alienating them.

The Sun moves into Libra on Sunday, shifting our collective consciousness into thoughts of fairness and impartiality. It’s objective and diplomatic; able to see all sides of any argument — which is why it’s also often known as wishy-washy or indecisive. The Sun’s ingress into Libra marks the onset of the Autumnal equinox and first day of Fall (for those in the Northern Hemisphere). For those in the Southern Hemisphere, it’s exactly the opposite, ie the Vernal equinox and first day of Spring.

But it also opposes Chiron, just as Mercury squares Saturn. and sextiles the North Node. The Sun / Chiron aspect can be unsettling as it brings issues of self-worth and self-esteem to the forefront. Feeling marginalized or taken for granted, being last on someone’s list. helping others who then don’t even bother to say thanks.

This aspect pits your ego, will and life-force (the Sun) against the part of you that doesn’t feel worthy. Or that feels you can never quite earn the approval of others. As oppositions represent a need to integrate competing energies, your challenge will be to find a middle ground — or in this case self-acceptance.

The Mercury / Saturn square can see you wanting to just crawl back into bed and pull the blankets up over your head. This aspect can bring feelings of melancholy to the surface. It can manifest as boredom or apathy. It can leave seeing the glass as half empty rather than half full.

If you find yourself asking “what’s the use?” or “why even bother?” try to shift your thinking, as this transit can see you wallowing in your own misery. The good news is that this aspect is relatively fast moving and should see you back in business in a matter of days.

That’s it for this week! See you next week!
