Weekly Astrology Forecast — Jul 2, 2018 – Jul 8, 2018:

Forecast

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Jul 2, 2018 – Jul 8, 2018:

We start this week on Monday with three different inconjuncts (150° aspects); one involving Mercury and Saturn, one involving Venus and Pluto, and one involving the Sun and Mars.

Starting with the Mercury / Saturn inconjunct: this aspect can see you questioning the value of your own thoughts and ideas. it can have you feel uncertain or insecure about what you believe in, and can have you feeling shy about expressing it. This transit can have your mind playing tricks on you, as in wondering “is what I have to say important enough to say?” or “am I even sure about what I think?”

The Venus / Pluto inconjunct forces us to re-evaluate our relationship with deep-seated fears and desires and find a way to reconcile them with our personal realities. As Venus represents love, beauty and personal values, this can translate as a turning point in your relationship, particularly those that are karmic in nature.

But Pluto is a mass of contradictions; it’s passionate and intense, but also vulnerable and self-protective. It longs for a deep powerful all-consuming emotional connection, but resists exposing itself or letting its guard down. This aspect can bring these inconsistencies to the surface and force you to have to deal with them.

The Sun / Mars inconjunct can be a tricky aspect that describes a need to remedy an imbalance between the desire for self-actualization (the Sun) and the impulse to follow your urges, whether they are in your best interests or not. This configuration is compounded by the fact that Mars is retrograde, so pay attention your urges during this time and think about whether they are going to benefit you or will lead to something you may later regret.

With the Sun in sensitive and vulnerable Cancer and Mars in detached, emotionally aloof Aquarius, you may find it hard to satisfy both inclinations. But the main thing that these two archetypes have in common is compassion for those who are less fortunate. So find a cause to devote yourself to or consider volunteering at a shelter or food bank if you want to satisfy this energy.

Mercury conjuncts the North Node on Wednesday, and simultaneously opposes the South Node. This can manifest as a chance encounter that turns out to be anything but in the end. Whether it’s a past-life connection or just someone you meet unexpectedly that turns into a significant connection, you want to pay attention. Also be mindful of what you say and how you say it. Mercury represents communications and the Nodes are said to be karmic in nature. So pay attention to what you put out there as it could have long term repercussions.

Since Mars is still so close to the South Node Mercury will move ahead and oppose Mars on Thursday. This can be a combative or very volatile aspect, with the planet ruling action, energy and assertion (Mars) butting heads with the planet that rules words, thoughts and ideas (Mercury).

You may find that people are more argumentative than usual and more investing in being right. They can be abrasive and even belligerent. You may wonder whether it’s worth it trying to engage someone who doesn’t want to hear what you have to say. It may be best to just them rant rather than trying to poke holes in their theories.

This aspect can also be very distractible, especially with Mars in retrograde. It can make it hard to think, to fall asleep or to complete tasks that require you to focus. You may find yourself being pulled in several different directions mentally — and the good news is that allowing it to happen can bring in flashes of genius and insight that wouldn’t have been available to you otherwise.

Also on Thursday, the Sun trines Jupiter, just as Chiron goes stationary retrograde. With respect to the Sun / Jupiter trine, this aspect is fortified by the fact that Jupiter is relatively stationary now, in anticipation of turning direct next week. it brings the planet that rules growth, expansion and personal evolution (Jupiter) into harmony with the Self (the Sun).  It represents feeling good about yourself, feeling upbeat, optimistic, generous and carefree. It can manifest as expecting only the best and having the Universe respond in kind.

Chiron turning retrograde can see us looking at how some of our own life experiences — including those that have brought us pain — have led us to express more kindness, compassion and understanding toward others.

This is a time of turning inward and accessing previously undiscovered gifts. Often it’s those experiences that have broken us down that lend themselves to our greatest strengths. The retrograde encourages us to look within and to break through some of the traumas that have been holding us back.

Over the next 5 months (while Chiron is retrograde) you may encounter people for whom you turn out to be the best facilitator for their spiritual growth. But the “Physician Heal Thyself” axiom also applies here. It is through helping others that you’re most likely to uncover the solutions to many of your own most pressing problems.

Winding the week down on Sunday, we have the Sun trining Neptune, both of which are also closely trining Jupiter: turning this aspect into a grand water trine. This is a beautiful transit to end the week on. It can increase your sensitivity to outside influences and leave you feeling more susceptible to psychic impressions.

This transit can help you wind down your work week on a mellow note; so mellow in fact that you may decide to stay in for the weekend rather than venturing out. It’s a good time to pay attention to your dreams, meditate, get in touch with your creativity and heed your inner voice.

That’s it for this week; see you next week!
