We got hereWe begin the merry month of May with eight planets clustered in the three signs of Pisces, Aries and Taurus and the lone outlier, Pluto, in the sign of Aquarius.
Pluto is very powerful right now as he is going retrograde on May 2nd and squares Venus for the first 6 days of the month. There can be some emotional intensity or obsessive tendencies regarding money, values, sex, control and relationship dynamics involved in the square aspect between those two planets.
Fortunately, Venus moves on fairly quickly from that scenario and settles into her comfort zone of Taurus through May 24 after which she enters Gemini which is a very friendly sign to her. So, let the flirting begin!
Mercury is moving forward from 17 degrees of Aries and enters the sign of T which is a veryaurus on May 16th. When Venus goes into Gemini, Mercury’s sign on the 24th, it is considered to be a big positive energy as Mercury and Venus are in a mutually receptive relationship as they hang out in each other’s signs. This is a pleasant situation for both and you can enjoy social activities, dating, travel and meeting new people during this time.
Mars enters his own sign of Aries on the 1st and gets energized for accomplishment and action by that ingress. Jupiter is moving through the degrees of 24 Taurus to the first degree of Gemini on May 26th. The only problematic time with that transit is between May 12 and May 15 when Jupiter will be conjunct the fixed star, Algol in the constellation of Pegasus, which is considered to be a malefic influence.
Algol represents the head of Medusa and is an eclipsing binary star that dims and brightens approximately every three days. That phenomenon kind of freaked out the ancient stargazers so the mythology about it was negative even though Perseus slayed Medusa. She was considered to be a ghoul winking in the heavens and can give problems with eyesight and disruptive influences. We shall see how that plays out.
Saturn moves from 16 degrees 32’ of Pisces to 18 degrees, 42’ throughout the month and gives his lessons mainly to the mutable signs of Pisces, Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius as a square energy as it transits this feminine, mutable water sign. See the job, do the job and stay out of the misery in whatever you are doing as Saturn rewards those who stay out of trouble and are disciplined and responsible with their duties in life.
Uranus remains in the sign of Taurus and moves from 22 degrees 23’ to 24 degrees 7’ in the feminine, fixed earth sign. If you have any natal planets at those degrees in Taurus and the other fixed signs of Aquarius, Leo and Scorpio, you can pretty much expect to confront some unusual circumstances in life as well as your personal status quo undergoing some kind of upheaval by this revolutionary planet. It’s necessarily negative as it can also bring brilliant insights and new advances in technology to help mankind. If something needs to change in your life, it’s a good time to do just that, let go and go with the flow.
Neptune moves from 28 degrees 55’ Pisces to 29 degrees 39’ Pisces. Any planet at the last degree of a sign starts to lose power so we may still have some extremes in water and weather issues but they might not get a lot of attention until the end of June when Neptune goes retrograde at 29 degrees, 55’ of Pisces and becomes powerful in its station bringing those things to the forefront again in the summer.
Pluto goes retrograde on May 2nd at 2 degrees 6’ of Aquarius and goes back to 1 degree 55’ by the end of the month and doesn’t go direct until October 10th. He dips back into the 29th degree of Capricorn in September, October and the first three weeks of November before moving back into Aquarius on November 21st where he will transit that sign for 20 more years. That dip back into Capricorn does indicate that some underhanded power moves will arise in the fall but thankfully, it is a waning oppressive energy and will fade as Pluto moves into Aquarius again. “The times, they are a changin’,” says the 60’s bard Bob Dylan and you can certainly feel the reality of that lyric again!

Aries — March 21-April 19: With Mars now in your sign, you start shaking off the ennui of the last six weeks while Mars was in Pisces and getting ready for some action and activities in your life. Pay attention to what’s going on between the May 18th-20th as Mars connects with the north node as this is a dharma connection which can give you valuable information about a new direction in your life. Be careful not to overdue your activities during the last 4 days of the month as Mars joins asteroid Chiron, the wounded healer, so just be aware of your vulnerability at that time. It is, however, a great time to get body work or other healing modalities done. Best days for you are the 5th and 6th.
Taurus — April 20-May 20: Venus in your sign, even though she squares Pluto for the first 6 days of the month, is still a positive as you have more opportunities to enjoy life, love and the pursuit of happiness! Use the transformative energies of the first week to acknowledge the inner work you need to do to make your life better. Be careful with expenses as Taurus can be quite indulgent with Venus in your sign at this time. The entire month could bring in some surprising developments for you personally as 4 planets are transiting your first house. It’s a great time to buy new clothes, get a new haircut or change up your style for a better look. Use the energy of the new Moon on the 7th and 8th for your benefit as the lunar vibes favor you.
Gemini — May 21-June 21: With four planets transiting your solar 12th house of self-undoing, karma, health and seclusion, you might be feeling a desire to be alone, close to the ocean or a large body of water. If at all possible, plan some time alone somewhere to regenerate yourself both physically and mentally. Mars will be helpful to you during this time as it transits your 11th house of income from profession, friends and connections in the business world. Mercury is also in Aries until May 16th in the 11th house so you can be assertive when you need to be, just don’t be sarcastic. Saturn in your 10th house wants you to become the responsible leader in your current occupation. Yes, there may be big challenges but just do your best to perform in the highest capacity you can. The energy of the 9th and 10th favor you.
Cancer — June 22-July 23: This month has you feeling more energized in the career sector of your chart as Mars and Mercury are transiting the 10th house at the top of your chart. Ask and you shall receive. In addition, Venus, the Sun, Jupiter and Uranus are in the favorable 11th house of your solar chart which can bring in new interests, new groups, new friends and new sources of income for you. This can be a very fulfilling and optimistic time for you so just roll with what comes your way and make good choices with what is presented to you. The 11th and 12th are very favorable days for you.
Leo — July 24-August 23: With 4 planets, Venus, the Sun, Jupiter and Uranus in your 10th house of career and profession, there’s a lot of action going on for you so push for what you want and accept the pleasant surprises along the way. It is also a very good month to travel or plan a trip in the future as both Mercury, the North Node and Mars are transiting there, giving you the urge to go, see and do. Even better yet if a trip also pertains to your career. Pluto is retrograde starting in your 7th house and going back into your 6th so there might be a recurrence of a recent health issue. Take care and don’t overdo it. Your best days are the 13th, 14th and 15th.
Virgo — August 24-September 22: Your ruling planet, Mercury, moves forward in Aries along with Mars in your solar 8th house. This can bring certain anxieties or fears about the end of life or the revelation of secrets or a psychological issue coming up to be acknowledged and cleared. It can also mean you have to deal with taxes, insurance, wills and legacy issues. Big fun! You do have four planets, Venus, the Sun, Jupiter and Uranus transiting your solar 9th house of travel, beliefs, purpose and higher knowledge as a positive transit. Libra — September 23-October 22: Issues regarding partnership and financial support are front and center with Mercury, the North Node and Mars in your solar 7th house and Venus, the Sun, Jupiter and Uranus in your solar 8th house. Mars enters your 6th house and joins Mercury and the North Node already there so you would be wise to take an active approach with your health to improve it. Pluto will be going retrograde over your 4th house cusp so a move might be on your mind or there may be a serious situation developing with your family of origin, your real estate or ancestral holdings that you have to attend to. Sagittarius — November 23-December 20: Jupiter, your ruling planet, is approaching your 7th house cusp this month and will enter it on May 26th where it will be for almost a year. This is a good time for a partnership agreement or any favorable business contract or expansion plan. Mars enters Aries and your favorable 5th house so plan to have some creative, social or romantic fun at this time. Life will be more pleasant going forward so there will be interesting opportunities coming up for you to explore. This also might have to do with your family of origin as four planets, Venus, the Sun, Jupiter and Uranus are transiting your solar 4th house bringing your ancestors, home, real estate and family into focus. Keep current with your feelings and do what is necessary to keep things moving in a positive direction. The lunar vibes favor your sign on the 1st, 2nd, 28th and 29th.
Pisces — February 20-March 20: Saturn is still in your sign and will be there until February of 2026 so you have plenty of time to do a course correction to make necessary changes in your life. One has to confront aging when Saturn transits one’s Sun sign so there is that bit of fun to explore. Mars enters your 2nd house so you may have some additional unexpected expenses coming in so curb your desire to spend money on luxuries or personal indulgences.
