Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of July 24, 2016 – July 30, 2016:
Venus and Pluto are involved in an uncomfortable aspect — an inconjunct — as we start the week on Sunday. The inconjunct to Pluto forces us to re-evaluate our relationship with deep-seated fears and desires and find a way to reconcile them with our personal realities.
As the Venus represents love, beauty and personal values, this can translate as a turning point in relationship, particularly those that are karmic in nature. And as the Sun is tied to ego, will, self-expression and identity, it can manifest as a crisis in consciousness.
The asteroid Vesta moves into Cancer on Monday. This is a good placement for Vesta as it’s associated with home and hearth, much like the Cancerian archetype. It’s associated with caring, nurturing and being supportive of others. It’s happiest when putting its own needs aside and taking care of loved ones.
This is a good time to think about what makes your house a home. In what ways you are dedicating yourself to the comfort and care of loved ones. And how you develop your own sense of autonomy through service to others.
On Wednesday, Mercury trines Uranus and inconjuncts Chiron. The trine to Uranus is great for brainstorming and thinking outside the box. With these two planets in fire signs (Leo and Aries respectively), you should be passionate about your ideas and the way that you express them.
The inconjunct to Chiron can bring feelings of guilt and regret to the surface. You may be questioning whether you’ve done enough to help others or whether you’ve said the right things. You may also be more gullible than usual so be careful you don’t fall prey to some undeserving culprit’s sob story.
Uranus turns stationary retrograde on Friday just as Mercury squares Mars. Uranus will be retrograde for the next 5+ months. As with all retrogrades, the planetary energy is turned inward, making those sudden flashes of Uranian brilliance and insight all the more real.
Uranus is known as the “great awakener” and loves to shake things up — just to make sure we’re paying attention. It’s a naturally rebellious archetype, but the retrograde makes it less about bucking the system and more about challenging our own deeply personal ideals.
The Mercury / Mars square can be challenging and intense, especially as both planets are at anaretic degrees — the 29th degree of their respective signs. This aspect can be tempestuous so consider taking a breath and count to 10 before you speak — especially if what you say can come across to others as angry or abrasive.
It can manifest as harsh words, confrontations, temper tantrums and impatience. And it can also be careless and / or reckless which translates to “accident prone.” Watch your step during this transit, in more ways than one.
Mercury moves into Virgo, where it’s most at home (along with Gemini, which it shares rulership with) on Saturday. Mercury both rules and is exalted in Virgo, making it not only more comfortable there but purer in expression. It’s good for getting down to the nitty gritty and figuring out ways to make everything better.
While Mercury is the fastest moving planet and ordinarily spends 2-4 weeks in each sign, it’s going to be in Virgo for a whopping 2-1./2 months. This is because it moves all the way to the last degree before it turns retrograde, and then doesn’t change signs until October 8th.
During this time you want to be careful not to scrutinize everything to death or to be too focused on what’s wrong with every picture. Overall though, this signature is great for fine-tuning and perfecting whatever needs a little sprucing up.
That’s it for this week, see you next Sunday!
