Weekly Astrology Forecast — Apr 23, 2018 – Apr 29, 2018:

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Apr 23, 2018 – Apr 29, 2018:

We start this week on Monday, with Venus moving toward the final (29th) degree of Taurus, which it will have passed by the end of the day. . The final degree of any sign is known as the “anaretic degree,” which is said to be fated. As Venus rules Taurus (as well as Libra) it’s said to be dignified there, and is made all the more powerful by its placement in Taurus’ final degree.

Of course that means that Venus is leaving Taurus and moving into Gemini. Venus is the esoteric ruler of Gemini, as the catalyst through which the concept of “Love” first emerges — through connecting, interacting and most importantly communicating with others.

It enters Gemini at 4:39 pm (UT) on Tuesday, at around the same time Jupiter sextiles Mars. Venus in Gemini is playful, curious and spontaneous. It’s a feminine planet in a dual sign, which means it can also be restless, changeable and fickle in the relationship department.

The sextile between Jupiter and Mars brings with it an abundance of energy and enthusiasm. It inspires us to think about travel, adventure, spirituality, philosophy and higher mind pursuits. It takes us out of our comfort zones and gets us thinking about how the other half lives.

This combination is softened somewhat by the fact that these two planets are in sextile which is a bit more gentle and harmonious. Still there’s an added bit of confidence and bravado that can see you making big plans.

On Wednesday, Venus sextiles Chiron and Mercury squares Saturn. The Venus/ Chiron sextile may see you becoming more aware of your own capacity for giving and for being able to put yourself in other people’s shoes. This is a charitable aspect that compels you to reach into the very depths of your soul — where compassion, forgiveness and understanding all reside — and bring forth that which is within you in order to pass it onto others.

The Mercury / Saturn square is a recurrence of a similar transit earlier in the month (when Mercury was still retrograde). This aspect can bring feelings of melancholy to the surface. It can manifest as boredom or apathy. It can leave seeing the glass as half empty rather than half full. If you find yourself asking “what’s the use?” or “why even bother?” try to shift your thinking, as this transit can see you wallowing in your own misery.

Thursday’s Mars / Pluto conjunction can . Pluto is the higher Octave of Mars and Mars is dignified in Capricorn, so this is not a bad combination at all. But we can expect it to be hard-hitting and intense. Especially since Mars is still out of bounds.

In general this transit is known to be driven and self-empowered. Placing it in Capricorn speaks of funneling that energy into something constructive and productive. It’s about standing strong in your convictions and refusing to be bullied or pushed aside.

Mercury trines the North Node on Friday. This is another recurrence — again involving Mercury retrograde — of the same transit that occurred a couple weeks ago.  It’s all about developing a comfortable rapport with others. It’s about generating a meeting of the minds and communing with those who are on the same page.

As the North and South Nodes are always in opposition, the North Node trines Mercury at the same time it sextiles the South Node. Think of this as a relatively painless give and take, especially since Mercury is now moving forward again.

The asteroid Juno moves into Aries on Saturday and will conjunct Chiron on the following day. June in Aries can see you being more confident (and taking more risks) in your pursuit of relationship happiness. It can manifest as a desire to throw yourself head-long into an affair without weighing the repercussions. It can be passionate, daring and aggressive — and it can also be somewhat self-defeating.

The conjunction to Chiron reinforces this energy, as there are sacrificial components to both archetypes. Because this conjunction occurs in Aries — the sign associated with personality and “self” — it’s going to be important to not allow yourself to lose sight of your own needs and desires for the sake of your relationship.

We finish off the weekend with a Sun trine Saturn on Sunday.  This is likely to put you in the mood for getting down to business in the coming weeks, especially in the workplace. It’s good for making plans and assessing progress that’s already been made. This aspect is both incredibly disciplined and productive, so if you want to get something done now is the time to do it.

Sun / Saturn aspects are generally very focused, disciplined and goal-oriented. Bring them together in a harmonious 120 degree angle (trine) and you’ve got a fantastic recipe for success. And this is serious business: you may not feel like putting your party hat on over the next few days, but you can get a lot accomplished.

That’s it for this week; see you next week!
