Weekly Astrology Forecast — Nov 9, 2020 – Nov 15, 2020

Forecast

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Forecast for the week of Nov 9, 2020 – Nov 15, 2020:

We’ve got quite a busy week ahead of us with a planet (Mercury) changing signs, another planet (Mars) changing direction and a New Moon in Scorpio.

Starting on Monday, there’s a Mars / Venus opposition across the Aries / Libra axis. This transit can indicate conflicts in your relationships, with the love planet (Venus) and the planet associated with action, energy and aggression (Mars) on opposite sides of the fence.

Even both of these planets are currently moving through the signs that they rule, keep in mind that one of them (Venus) is moving forward while the other one (Mars) is moving backwards. As a result you may find that you and your partner are focusing on different priorities, or that the one who has your heart just doesn’t feel the same. It’s especially important to iron out your problems before Mars goes direct later in the week.

On Tuesday, Mercury moves back into Scorpio, while the Sun trines Neptune. Mercury in Scorpio is a natural investigator. This begins a period of seeking meaning in all things and of looking for more substance and depth in our lives. We may stop taking things at face value and ask ourselves what is really going on here? What does it all mean? We may become less interested in engaging in superficial social activities and opt to work more behind the scenes.

You may see increased focus in your life in the area this transit takes place in your natal chart. You may find yourself unraveling mysteries about yourself or coming to terms with things you’ve been in denial about in the past. Take some time this week to look at yourself, your own agendas and hidden motivations during this time.

The North Taurid meteor showers — known for their higher than average percentage of fireballs — will be visible the wee hours of the morning (closest to midnight local time) for the next few days, but most prominent Wednesday night moving into Thursday.

Jupiter conjuncts Pluto — as part of an ongoing waltz between these two powerful forces — for the third time this year, on Thursday. Prior to that, they last came together in December of 2007, when both Jupiter and Pluto were in Sagittarius.

This transit is driven to succeed. It’s capable of making huge changes and overhauling existing norms in the name of progress. On a personal level it’s all about laying down and then working toward achieving far-reaching goals. And on a Universal level it speaks of powerful transformation and change.

On the downside, this transit can be brutal. It can be power hungry and fanatical. It can be forceful. It can be capable of ruthless disregard for those who are perceived as weak. But the positive aspects of this transit far outweigh the negative ones. These include  things like passion, drive, ardor, influence and ambition. These are the ones we want to bring to life.

Venus trines the Moon’s North Node (and sextiles the South Node) on Friday. This transit can bring new people into your life who feel familiar and who can be instrumental to your evolutionary process.

This aspect is karmic in nature, meaning that the people you meet during this time are here to propel you toward your destiny — and vice versa. Your actions and interactions can have far reaching repercussions so make sure you treat the people you meet during this time (and all times) with dignity and respect.

On Saturday, the Moon conjuncts Venus and the Sun sextiles / Jupiter and Pluto. This pair of aspects complements one another beautifully, especially in the realm of personal relationships. The Venus / Moon aspect is gracious, accommodating and cooperative where the Sun / Jupiter- Pluto aspect emphasizes personal power and charisma.

This is a time of increased confidence and comfort in going after what you want without feeling the urge to resort to aggression or force. The sextile aspect softens some of that natural Pluto intensity, as does the Venus / Moon conjunction.

Also on Saturday, Mars goes stationary direct after spending the last 2 months in retrograde motion. While it’s much more comfortable moving forward than it is moving backwards, it will take until January 4th to cross its shadow point and be considered in full direct motion.

Mars turning direct can see you moving forward again too. As in making plans for your future rather than perseverating over mistakes in your past. Or initiating new projects rather than trying to breathe life into those that didn’t quite work the first time. It’s good for going after your goals — especially with Mars in Aries, the sign it rules.

If you know which house Mars rules in your natal chart, you can look to see if this is an area you’ve been struggling with for the last couple months. It might be an area you couldn’t seem to get ahead in, or perhaps you felt you were taking one step forward and two steps back. You also want to look at which house Mars is transiting through for you now. There are areas you can expect to start making progress in — and gaining momentum in — again.

On Sunday, we have a New Moon at 23° Scorpio 17. This takes place at 5;07 am UT, or 12:07 am eastern time.

As New Moons always represent new beginnings and opportunities to start anew, this one — in Scorpio — presents opportunities for deep personal connections with others, as well as a chance to explore the inner workings of our own psyches.

This New Moon lends the perfect backdrop for a second set of meteor shower this week: the Leonids. This is because there’s less moonlight to interfere with their visibility.

The same goes for Venus and Mercury which will rise in the early morning hours, ahead of the Sun.  Speaking of which, we end the week with a square between Venus and Pluto on Sunday. This aspect is associated with relationship tensions, and can bring some of the darker Plutonian energies to the forefront. Things like jealousy, control and trust issues.

Although Venus is comfortable in Libra (the sign it rules), it’s still likely to be trumped by the power Plutonian square. Problems that have been simmering beneath the surface can come to a head and force you to confront your relationship problems head on.

This is not the time to deliver an ultimatum or back someone into a corner. This transit can be volatile and can lead to actions and decisions that can’t be taken back later. Choose your relationship battles wisely during this time — or better yet choose not to do battle at all.
