Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Sep 10, 2018 – Sep 16, 2018:
This week starts with an inconjunct between Venus and Chiron on Monday. This aspect can put a strain on your love life by forcing you to look at unhealthy relationship patterns, such as mistaking compassion for love or pity for kindness.
This aspect underscores the potential for missing (or misreading) important social cues. As with all inconjunct aspects, the key to rebalancing this energy is adjusting your own perceptions and adapting your own approach.
On Tuesday, Mars moves back into Aquarius, which it first entered in May, before turning around (retrograding) in June and briefly going back into Capricorn. Now that it’s moving forward again we can start to appreciate the unique characteristics of this archetype, which include things like innovation, open-mindedness and social consciousness.
Mars transits bring action and energy to the area of a natal chart where the transit occurs. It also affects planets in a natal chart that it forms aspects to, which are in turn influenced by the sign placement (in this case Aquarius) as well as the house Mars is placed in and rules in the natal chart.
Mars in Aquarius is progressive, innovative, and forward thinking. It can also be eccentric and rebellious. It’s a champion for the underdog and not afraid to stand up out for those who have been marginalized or mistreated in some way.
Also on Tuesday, the Sun sextles Jupiter and trines Pluto. The Sun / Jupiter aspect can see you feeling good about yourself, which will draw people to you and open doors where you haven’t even knocked. It brings together two very dynamic energies which can propel you toward pursuing your goals with confidence and enthusiasm.
The trine to Pluto is all about harnessing your personal power and channeling it in productive / transformative ways. It’s excellent for business and financial matters since both of these planets are in Earth signs. It can also be used to make positive changes in yourself — as in how you wish to present yourself to the outer world and how you want to be perceived.
Jupiter is at the midpoint between the Sun and Pluto, and sextiling them both (the exact sextile to Pluto occurs on Wednesday). This is a powerful configuration that paves the way for the expression of personal charisma and power. It emphasizes leadership qualities which can see you standing up and being noticed. This aspect is good for making favorable financial or business-related decisions. It increases confidence and can see you feeling good about achieving whatever you set your mind to.
Aslo on Wednesday, Venus opposes Uranus. This aspect can manifest as erratic changes in your relationships, especially those that have become mired in drudgery or routine. This transit can bring people in who rock your world, only to see them exit just as quickly as they came in. It can shake up existing relationships too, leaving you feeling like the rug has been pulled out from under your feet.
If you’re dealing with ups and downs in your relationships, it’s not the time to force someone’s hand or insist on doing things your way. You’ll get much better results allowing your partner a wide berth and getting some space yourself.
Mars sextiles Chiron and Venus sextiles Saturn on Thursday. These transits can soften some of that combative, erratic Uranian energy mentioned above, with the Mars / Chiron sextile making a little easier to acknowledge other people’s points of view and to see value in their points of view.
The Venus / Saturn sextile is good for sitting down and having a heart to heart with a loved one. It adds a bit of depth \to the interchange without being too frivolous. It can bring clarity and perspective as well.
This is especially important as the following day (Friday) brings us a couple of more difficult transits. First we have a Mercury / Neptune opposition, which can make you moe susceptible to misunderstandings and self-deception. It’s not the best time to make plans, sign contracts or commit to a schedule as these things are likely to change. Where does this opposition fall in your natal chart? Depending on the houses involved, you’ll want to work on integrating these opposing energies (ideas vs. fantasies, facts vs. delusions, etc.) into your psyche.
There’s also a Venus / Node square, or what’s known in classical astrology as “at the bendings.” This is what a planet in exact square to the North and South Nodes is called, and refers to a period of crisis with emphasis on the concept of fate. As Venus represents romance and relationships (among other things, such as money, personal values and beauty / aesthetics) this can translate as problems identifying with these areas.
It can also manifest as feeling backed into a corner in relationship or being forced to choose between love and something (or someone) else. Feeling like it’s time to update your wardrobe, hair, fashion sense or psychical appearance. Being dissatisfied with what you have going in there areas, with the understanding that you need to make changes. It’s not the time to do a complete overhaul though, as Venus will be going retrograde in just a few weeks.
Fortunately we can expect to end the week on a more even note, with Mercury trining Pluto and sextiling Jupiter on Sunday. The trine to Pluto is good for digging deep and ferreting out hidden information. It’s good for doing research and looking for hidden clues. It’s also good for deep, soulful meaningful conversations that get to the heart of the matter.
The Mercury / Jupiter lightens things up a bit. It’s more optimistic and expansive, and can be good for making far-off goals and plans. This aspect is also said to be lucky, but don’t go overboard. These transits are best used for one-on-one interactions and discussions that are neither too serious or too light.
That’s it for this week; see you next week!
