Weekly Astrology Forecast –Sep 30, 2019 – Oct 6, 2019:

ForecastHere is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Sep 30, 2019 – Oct 6, 2019:

We’ve got a lot going on this week, with two planets (Mercury and Mars) changing signs, a planet (Pluto) changing direction, and a stellium of planets (five in all — if you include the still-New Moon) in Libra by week’s end.

The Libra Moon is nestled in between Venus and Mercury at the beginning of the week (on Monday) setting the tone for pleasant  and amicable conversations. This is a graceful, conciliatory aspect that seeks to  set aside differences and bring people together in harmony. While it’s a relatively fleeting transit, a lot can be accomplished through tact, diplomacy and skillful communications during this time.

Keep this in mind as Venus squares Pluto on Tuesday. These two planets are each a part of what’s called a planetary pair, as they naturally rule opposing signs. They’re both inherently tied to relationships as well (for the same reasons — ie as natural rulers of the ascendant / descendant or relationship axis.

The Venus / Pluto square can rain on your parade a bit, especially if you’ve been dealing with tension in your relationship. Although Venus is comfortable in Libra (the sign it rules), it’s still likely to be trumped by the power Plutonian square. Problems that have been simmering beneath the surface can come to a head and force you to confront your relationship problems head on.

This is not the time to deliver an ultimatum or back someone into a corner. This transit can be volatile and can lead to actions and decisions that can’t be taken back later. Choose your relationship battles wisely during this time — or better yet choose not to do battle at all.

Speaking of Pluto, it goes stationary direct on Thursday, after having spent the last five and a half months in retrograde motion. It’s been retrograde since April 24th and will turn retrograde again exactly a year later (April 24, 2020).  As Pluto turns direct again you may see suppressed urges and desires returning to the surface (much like the Roman God for which it is named emerges from the underworld in ancient mythology).

Pluto turning direct forces you to look at those urges in the harsh light of day and decide whether you’re ready to deal with them or push them back below the surface. Obviously the former is preferable as it can mean the difference between life happening to you (and having no control) or taking charge of your destiny and having some say in how it all plays out.

Although Pluto is no longer considered a planet by some astrologers know it as a force to be reckoned with. Especially moving through the equally formidable sign of Capricorn, and intensified by Mercury moving into Scorpio on the same day. Mercury will remain in Scorpio for two plus months (due to its turning retrograde in late October).

That’s a lot of Scorpio: Mercury! As our fastest moving planet, generally zips through a sign in a few weeks, Mercury doesn’t often make much of an impact.  But this time around, we’ll see it moving through Scorpio until December 8th.

This is an intense psychological placement that can see you obsessing, perseverating, or scrutinizing everything down to the infinitesimal degree. It is curious but very skeptical, with a prove-it-to-me attitude.  It’s good at ferreting out hidden information and is known for having a few secrets of its own.

It’s an excellent placement for doing research and analysis, and can also be good for delving into the deepest darkest regions of your own psyche. What it might not be so good for is communicating with loved ones. You’ll want to get a handle on the tendency to read into everything and see problems where there are none.

This placement can be guarded and / or hyper vigilant. It can also be suspicious and paranoid. The good news is that nothing will get past you and no one is going to be able to play you for a fool. But the bad news is that this placement has so much difficulty taking anything at face value that having even a casual conversation can start to feel like walking through a land mine.

Mars moves into Libra the following day (on Friday). Mars is debilitated in Libra, the sign of its detriment. This means it’s not generally comfortable in this sign as the assertive, decisive and energetic planet Mars feels frustrated in the indecisive and somewhat wishy-washy sign of Libra.

Still there are so many positive attributes associated with this placement. Emphasis on tact and diplomacy for one thing. An urge to fight for what is just and fair for another. There’s a strong devil’s advocate posture associated with this signature, and that can get tiresome for those who on the receiving end of someone always looking at the otherside of the coin.

At its highest and most evolved state, Mars in Libra is fair, impartial, objective and diplomatic. The lower vibrations of this archetype can be shallow, petty, indecisive and disingenuine. There’s a potential for Mars in Libra to express itself as argumentative and passive aggressive.

Since we’re all dealing with this energy you might as well make the most of it. Be on the lookout (over the next 6 weeks) for people to not always be on their best behavior. Forewarned is forearmed, so do what you can to not be a part of that problem.

We end the week with the Sun squaring the North and South Nodes on Sunday.  This aspect is known in classical astrology as “at the bendings.”  In particular it’s at the North bending which is a highly visible placement. Pay attention to what you put out there — what face you show to the outer world, and how you represent yourself.

The Sun at the Node’s bendings sets up a natural t-square which can manifest as a sense of frustration over discrepancies between what you’re experiencing internally and the image you feel the need to portray. Find ways to reconcile these differences while remaining true to yourself, and you should be just fine.

That’s it for this week. See you next week!
