January 2023 Monthly Horoscopes by Jeanne

As I mentioned in the 2023 Year Overview message, we have Mercury in Capricorn and Mars in Gemini in retrograde motion so the new year and its new cycle will be off to a slow start because of this planetary condition.

So be patient and let your thoughts germinate during the first three weeks of the month before taking action. Jupiter in Aries will give you the opening and energy to move forward when the time is right. Mars goes direct at 8 degrees of Gemini on January 12th and Mercury goes direct at 8° Capricorn on January 19th.

Venus is in Capricorn and close to Pluto right now until January 3rd, when she enters Aquarius. Saturn is also transiting Aquarius now but they don’t meet up until Jan 23rd when situations can get more solidified.

Venus and Saturn are friends so I don’t expect this to be troublesome, just more serious, particularly if you are in a relationship. Expectations and boundaries get revealed. Venus enters Pisces, the sign of her exaltation on Jan. 27th, so the next 25 days after that should be quite pleasant.

Uranus goes into direct motion at just under 15 degrees of Taurus on January 22nd so that will free up some interesting energy for a new exciting direction for Taurus’s. Possibly you break free from some situation that has felt like shackles to you.

Neptune continues its passage through Pisces and enters the 23rd degree on January 9th and water issues will continue to be talked about at a global scale. Pluto moves to the 28th degree of Capricorn on January 12th as it slowly covers the last few degrees of that sign before entering Aquarius on March 24, 2023. It doesn’t take up residence in Aquarius until December 2024 as it has 2 retrograde cycles during the next two years that move it back into Capricorn. We shall see how it all unfolds during the next 2 years.

Read your rising sign and Sun sign for best information.

Aries — March 21-April 19:  Be patient with your progress at this time, which may be difficult to do as Jupiter has enters your sign with its usual exuberance and drive. Mars, your ruling planet, is going into direct motion on Jan 12th and that will free up some energy. But my advice is to wait to take decisive action until after January 22nd when Uranus goes direct and all the planets will be in their right action mode. Your best days are the PM hours of the 25th, 26th and 27th. Better yet if you wait until one of those days to take action.

Taurus — April 20-May 20:  Venus, your ruling planet, is currently in your solar 10th house of profession and the public eye but she will be of greater assistance in your plans if you make your move after January 27th when she enters Pisces, this sign of her exaltation. In the meantime, do your planning and mundane tasks to be ready for the rush of energy at the end of the month. Your stellar days are the 1st, 2nd, 28th and 29th.

Gemini — May 21-June 21: With your ruling planet, Mercury, in retrograde and Mars retrograde in your sign, you are stuck at the gate. Rather than getting angry and impatient, do what is left undone in your life and continue to gather information about the next phase of your life and your motivations. Your days of positive vibes are the 3rd, 4th, 30th and 31st. All systems are a go after January 22nd.

Cancer — June 22-July 23:  All the planets are above the horizon for Cancer rising folks so that means you have a greater presence in the outside world, no hiding at home anymore, you are due for an upgrade in respect and recognition. This month’s plan should include some self-promotion with Jupiter in your 10th house of profession and the public eye. This makes things more favorable for you in what you do for a living. Best days for you are the 5th, the full Moon on the 6th and the 7th.

Leo — July 24-August 23:  This is a month to pay attention to your health, first and foremost. In fact, it would be beneficial for you to just do that as the priority in January. Part of your lagging energy situation is due to Saturn in your opposition sign, Aquarius, and who is soon to be joined by Venus on January 3rd and the Sun on January 20th. It’s just not all that supportive of a time for progress so instead, do the things that make you feel better energetically and in general without apology. Best days to pamper yourself are the 8th and 9th.

Virgo —  August 24-September 22:  With Mercury retrograde, you could be having a tough time getting people to fulfil your demands or expectations. You have to roll with the current cycle of delay until after the 22nd. Then the pace picks up and everyone starts to shake off the confusion and indulgence of the last 3 weeks, month actually. Your stellar days are the 10th, 11th, and 12th, so ask for favors then.

Libra — September 23-October 22:  Like all the other signs, it’s a wait and see period but for Venus ruled signs, like yourself, the best time to launch any new plans or sequence in your life is when Venus enters Pisces on January 27th. There may be some sad or serious news coming around the 20th-23rd, which is another reason to wait until after January 27th for a new beginning cycle. Good days to take time off are the 13th and 14th.

Scorpio — October 23-November 22:  With Mars retrograde, you are lagging in every department. This improves after the 12th, but you are still not full speed ahead until after the 22nd when all the planets will be in direct motion mode. In the meantime, have some fun visiting neighbors, exploring the local area and being active and communicative. Best days to do those things are the 15th and 16th.

Sagittarius — November 23-December 20:  With Jupiter transiting fellow fire sign Aries, you are looking for an upgrade in your environment, perhaps a remodel? This could also mean you are considering a change of residence, which could be very beneficial in the first 4 and a half months of 2023. You may have some financial constraints right now but use the month of January to figure that out. Great days to use for fun and adventure are the PM hours of the 17th, the 18th and AM hours of the 19th.

Capricorn — December 21-January 20:  Mercury is retrograde in your sign until the 19th when it goes direct at 8 degrees. It meets up with Pluto in mid-February and then things feel lighter and easier to manage. Take your time now and do things that are mundane but help things flow better when you don’t have the time to do them. Do those things now. Best days to take a break from the mundane are the PM hours of the 19th, the 20th and the AM hours of the 21st, which is a new Moon! A new Moon signifies a new beginning.

Aquarius — January 21-February 19:  Your mood lightens when Venus enters your sign on January 3rd. So, enjoy that bit of sweetness and light through the 22nd when all the planets are direct and you will feel like making progress with your existing plans. The energy from the 20th-25th will be easier due to Venus’ conjunction with Saturn so you get a sense of contentment and peace. Best days to enjoy life are the PM hours of the new Moon on the 21st, the 22nd and the AM hours of the 23rd.

Pisces — February 20-March 20:  With Jupiter now out of your sign, there may be some pressure for you to perform as a possible new assignment or new territory for work opens up and you have to hustle a bit to keep up. Money is coming in with this new opportunity to keep on task and focus on that for this year. Best days to take time off are the PM hours of the 23rd, the 24th and AM hours of the 25th.
