Weekly Astrology Forecast — Jun 11, 2017 – Jun 17, 2017

Forecast

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Jun 11, 2017 – Jun 17, 2017:

We start this week on Sunday with the Moon in Capricorn (still full) trining Venus and opposing Mars. While the Moon / Mars opposition can be temperamental and tempestuous, this aspect is alleviated somewhat by the trine to Venus, which is dignified for the next three weeks in its own sign.

The Moon is not any happier in Capricorn than Mars is in Cancer. As Capricorn is the sign of the Moon’s detriment and Cancer is the sign of Mars’ fall, these are uncomfortable placements to begin with.

For this reason, the Moon’s trine (and Mars’ sextile) to Venus is important as in this scenario Venus is the only planet favorably situated. It can go a long ways toward softening the opposition and its accompanying conflicts.

The Moon continues its transit through Capricorn, squaring Jupiter and sextiling Neptune before the end of the day, and then conjuncts Pluto early Monday morning.

Remember that lunar transits are fleeting and can pass by relatively unnoticed. They are generally tied to emotional responses than actual events, so keep this in mind as you’re dealing with your own (or other people’s) changing moods.

On Tuesday, Mercury trines Jupiter.  Here we have two natural polarities — the natural rulers of the 3rd and 9th houses — joined together in harmony. We have Mercury — the planet associated with communications and ideas — trining Jupiter — the planet associated with benevolence, good will and generosity.

Among many other things, this transit is good for opening your heart to those you love and expressing appreciation and gratitude for all that you have. It’s good for coming together with others and celebrating your allegiances while honoring and accepting your differences. It’s a time for feeling inspired and optimistic about the future.

Mercury next squares Neptune — on Wednesday — just as Uranus trines the North Node. Starting with the Mercury / Neptune aspect, this transit can see you feeling somewhat disoriented or unstable. This aspect can manifest as confusion, uncertainty, suspicion and doubt.

It’s not the best time to sign contracts or lay down any concrete plans. It’s best used for tapping into our creative potential. For dreaming, visualizing and conceptualizing. Use this time to get in touch with your spirituality or work on creating something inspiring during this time, and save the nuts and bolts (left brain) decisions for another day.

The trine from Uranus to the North Node (which means it simultaneously sextiles the South Node) gets us thinking about making changes in our lives that can have an impact on the world at large. It refers to relying on past experiences (South Node) to leave the world a better place (Uranus) for generations to come (North Node).

As Uranus is in Aries and the North Node on the fixed star Regulus (the “Heart of the Lion”) during this time, you may have big ideas and plans for the future. But Thursday’s Sun / Saturn opposition is likely to throw a wrench into the works, as any flaws in your thinking are likely to be exposed.

The Sun and Saturn in opposition is a difficult aspect. It pits the Self, Ego and Will (the Sun) against external obstacles and restrictions (Saturn). It forces you to consider all the things that could go wrong, and will more than likely convince you that they will.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed with the prospects of making changes in your life against what seem like insurmountable odds, if may be easy to blame it on Saturn. But Neptune goes stationary retrograde on Friday, and that can contribute to feelings of melancholy or disillusionment.

Neptune is at home in Pisces, and when it’s retrograde it can bring you one step closer to Nirvana. It opens up your psychic pathways and makes it easier for you access the collective unconscious. It is sensitive, compassionate, idealistic and altruistic. It can also be unrealistic and delusional.

The Moon — also in Pisces — joins in and forms a conjunction to Neptune in the middle of the day, before moving on to conjunct Chiron on Saturday. We may feel our energy levels waning over the weekend, between the Sun / Saturn opposition, Neptune turning retrograde and the stellium in Pisces.

We can look forward to some very pleasant aspects (sextiles) over the next week, as well as the Sun and Mercury moving into Cancer (marking the onset of the Summer Solstice) and a New Moon (also in Cancer) before the week is through
