March 2016 Tarot Scopes by Chrisalis

Four of Wands

ARIES: Four of Wands

March is the month for honoring the relationships you have developed with loved ones and family members.

It’s a month for rejoicing and celebrating — whether this means planning for a party or special event, or getting yourself out of the doldrums and washing away the blues.

The Four of Wands — this version from the beautiful Tsigane Zigeuner / Gipsy Tarot by Walter Wegmüller — takes the “dream big” energy that came with the Three of Wands and turns it into something tangible, solid and lasting. It represents a joyous celebration, such as a marriage, a promotion, the birth of a child.

It tells you that “this is only the beginning” of something you’ve already established and that it’s bound to just keep getting better.

You may be planning a special event — one which will be way more fun than you are anticipating. You are likely to meet people, have fun, put your worries aside and focus instead on the promise of friendship, companionship and socializing.

This month is about expressing love and affection for those who are there for you even when the going gets tough. It’s about basking in the power of love — like the two bunnies in this card.

No matter what else you’re up against remember to be grateful for what you have. It’s not the time to isolate or withdraw from social opportunities. Look around you and take note of all you’ve accomplished thus far. Chances are good there’s a lot to be grateful for and a cause for celebration right there in front of you.

Six of Vessels

 Six of Vessels

Today’s card — the Six of Vessels from the Wildwood Tarot — is this deck’s version of the Six of Cups.

It’s a card of innocence and purity, pristine beauty and a joyful, lighthearted playfulness that is seen in the pair of otters who are just getting ready to test the waters.

This is clearly a sacred space which picture postcard beauty made up of lush foliage, a trickling waterfall, and six glowing bowls that float on the surface of a tranquil pool like a scattering of lotus blossoms.

A grove of trees springs up from a hill in the background, shielding this scene from the rest of the world. And this in many ways is the essence of the Six of Vessels.

This card is called “Reunion” in this deck, a reference perhaps to reuniting with your true purpose. Getting in touch with your childhood, your roots and yourself.

The Moon is in Capricorn today, conjuncting Pluto at some point and trining Venus, Mars and Jupiter. All of this Earth energy (the North Node is in Virgo now too — another earth sign) can awaken in you a desire to get back in touch with nature.

Take some time today to find your own sacred space; and reflect on the things that have brought you to where you are today. If you can’t get away you can still recapture some of the magic of those simpler times, and use it to restore your sense of peace.

October 2015 Tarot Scopes by Melodie

Ace of Pentacles

ARIES: Ace of Pentacles

October is going to be a good month for you to focus on attracting abundance and prosperity into your life. The Ace of Pentacles — this version from the Animism Tarot — refers to new opportunities for growth, prosperity and abundance, of which material (financial) gain is only a small part of. It refers to planting seeds which then grow and flourish, and ultimately begin to propagate and replenish themselves — much like the grape vines framing the scarab on this card.

You want to be thinking about what you have this month rather than what you lack. What you’ve invited into your life rather than what you’ve left behind. And what you’re putting out there now, as a means of attracting more of the same.

The Ace of Pentacles is a card of assurance and inspiration. It’s a “Yes” card, a manifesting card, a card of limitless promise and potential. It’s an essence rather than a “thing,” which means you have a lot of say in how it plays out. If it’s money you want (or security, stability, comfort, etc.) now is the time to work on attracting more of it into your life.

It represents the start of something new, in this case new financial opportunities. It encourages you to plant seeds that you can tend to, nurture and grow.

The scarab is a sacred symbol of mystery, magic, creation and transformation. How fitting is it then that this one — suspended mid-air between shade and Sun — is participating in an energetic exchange? It pulls energy from the Sun and sends it right back out.

The Ace of Pentacles encourages you to participate in your own energetic exchange. Whether it’s time, money, energy or aid, all of us have resources at our disposal. Put yours to good use this month and see what the Universe sends back.

Manatee

Has it been all work and no play for you in recent days? Or have there been too many responsibilities weighing on your shoulders and not enough letting your hair down and just having fun?

The Six of Shells —  Animal Wisdom Tarot’s version of the Six of Cups — says it’s time to do just that. The Manatees in this card aren’t thinking about all the work piling up at the office or all the emails they have respond to at home.

No they’re fully engaged in a game of catch, while the rest of the world floats by around them. This is the essence of the Six of Shells. Having fun, being playful and immersing yourself in the present rather than fretting about the past.

There’s a childlike innocence and wonder associated with this card. In fact children may figure prominently for you today and the thoughts of your own childhood may be triggered by their presence. If so consider it a call to observe their ability to live in the moment and follow in kind.

The Manatee as an animal totem speaks of companionship, trust and gentle play. It encourages you to take turns, share, and accept those around you for who and what they are.

The Six of Shells is all about finding pleasure in the simpler things in life. It says it’s time to kick your shoes off and have fun rather than getting bogged down with responsibilities. All those will be exactly where you left them when you come back to them later on, so for now put them all aside and try to recapture the spirit of those carefree days gone by.

Six of Cups

Six of Cups

Today is a day for pleasant thoughts and communications, courtesy of a harmonious aspect between Mercury and Venus.

The Mercury / Venus sextile — in curious, inquisitive Gemini and warm, gregarious Leo — is all about cooperation and compromise.

And the Six of Cups — this version comes from Jennifer Galasso’s gorgeous Crystal Visions Tarot — speaks of innocence, sentimentality and memories from days gone by. You may be missing someone, longing for the comforts and companions that have gone by the wayside over time.

You could also hear from an old friend unexpectedly today. Someone who’s been on your mind and who reaches out across the miles, reminding you of long-forgotten events that come rushing back in a wave of nostalgia.

You may also feel the urge to reach out to those who remind you of life’s simpler pleasures, such as a family member or a childhood friend. And if you’re lucky enough to be surrounded by loved ones today, you should have no problem recapturing those memories.

It’s also a good time to surround yourself with children — your own or someone else’s. Seeing the world through their eyes can help you to recapture the innocence and wonder that comes from seeing things in a different light, and not allowing yourself to become jaded by life’s small disappointments and letdowns.

This is not the time to bring old grievances back to the forefront. It’s time to focus on pleasure, playfulness and joy, and working on creating new memories with those you love.

You may have been taking life too seriously and find yourself needing to get in touch with your inner child. Or you now may have to let your guard down and allow yourself to trust again — especially if you’ve been trying to guard your heart from pain. The Six of Cups is about sharing and bringing the happier memories from your past forward to today.

Six of Tulips

Six of Tulips

Today you may find yourself surrounded by friends and loved ones and reminiscing about the past.

Whether you’re physically with those who are near and dear or just revisiting them in your memories, you’re likely to taking a trip down memory lane.

The Six of Cups — Tulips in this version, from the charming Rabbit Tarot by Nakisha VanderHoeven — speaks of innocence, sentimentality and memories from days gone by.

This is not the time to bring old grievances back to the forefront. And there is some danger of that — courtesy of today’s Sun square Pluto transit. It’s time to focus on pleasure, playfulness and joyb, and working on creating new memories with those you love.

You may have been taking life too seriously and find yourself needing to get in touch with your inner child. Or you now may have to let your guard down and allow yourself to trust again — especially if you’ve been trying to guard your heart from pain. The Six of Tulips is about sharing — like the Rabbit in this card — and bringing the happier memories from your past forward to today.

Six of Cups

Dreams of yesterday and the past may be with you just now as you find yourself lost in nostalgia and of times gone by.

An old friend or lover may come back into your life and reconnect with you. Alternately you may feel the urge to reach out and touch someone from your past.

The Six of Cups speaks of memories from the past being triggered today. Possibly by an event — a song that reminds you of days gone by, a scene from your childhood, or a scent that comes wafting back and conjures up feelings of nostalgia.

Children may figure prominently for you and the thoughts of your own childhood be triggered by their presence.

Fun times and playfulness abound for you.

You will feel light hearted as if you don’t need to worry about anything and in doing so you can throw from you  worries that have been burdening you lately.

The ferns on either side of this card bring up an image of using your imagination to get what you want.

The cups stacked in the middle bring back memories of childhood play and innocence. And the antiquated photograph is a reminder of days gone by. If you are used to meditating and visualizing what you wish for then this is a good time to do so.

Do not let the past hold you back because in the past there are many lessons which can propel you towards a future that you can only dream of.

February 2015 Tarot Scopes featuring the Rider-Waite Tarot

Magician

ARIES: Magician

The Magician card is all about bringing your talents to the table and putting them to good use.

Perhaps you have been looking for a job or thinking of changing your occupation. If so it would be wise for you to sit down and assess exactly what it is you can bring to the table of any new employer or occupation you are chasing down.

This doesn’t need to be about you finding a job: it could be that you’re thinking about expanding your knowledge which makes you a little more employable and more valuable in the job market.

You may really be wishing to change jobs but are a little hesitant as you don’t think you have all that a new employer is looking for.

If this is the case think again because the card of the Magician is a strong indicator of a new job, change in careers and if you are happy in your current job it may be that you are about to be given more duties to perform.

Focus on the hands in this card you will see that one is pointed to the earth whilst the other is pointed to the heavens suggesting that you are aspiring to something great yet also grounded enough to see that you cannot just take a big jump and land in that greatness without a bit of preparation.

Ask the Astrologers: Is He Gone for Good?

A client whom we’ll call Tara, wrote in with a question regarding her long-term relationship which ended abruptly in November. She writes:

As the new year looms, I’m looking around and still confused and shocked at what has rolled out in the past few months.

My now ex boyfriend broke up with me after a long term relationship during which we’d made constant plans for our future. We purchased a home together and got a dog, were talking about combining our 401Ks, discussing marriage, etc.

About a month before we planned to get engaged, he started becoming more and more distant and when I pressed him on it, he got defensive and withdrew further.

He ended up breaking up with me, and I’ve since moved out. I was completely blind-sided by this and am still reeling over what seems like a selfish and impulsive decision.

Six of Cups

You may feel the urge today to reach out to those who remind you of life’s simpler pleasures, such as a family member or a childhood friend.

The Six of Cups speaks of innocence, wonder, sentimentality and reminiscing about the past. You may be missing someone, longing for the comforts and companionships that have gone by the wayside over time.

You could also hear from an old friend unexpectedly today. Someone who’s been on your mind and who takes you on a trip down memory lane, reminding you of long-forgotten events that come rushing back to you in a wave of nostalgia.

This card is also about fantasy and make-believe. Notice the young girl in this card hosting a tea-part among her imaginary friends. Along with her treasured childhood toys there are birds, fish, fairies and elves.

Five of the six cups are teacups and the sixth is a golden vessel on an outcropping by the stream.

There are symbols here of abundance (fish), emotions (water), and luck (the 6th golden vessel). But it’s the sweetness and sincerity that stands out the most.

This is also true of memories — especially the happier memories — which tend to take on softer hues when we look back on them with longing.

Six of Cups

Six of Cups

Venus enters Cancer today bringing along with it a change of direction from the recent weeks where it has been in Gemini alongside a rather difficult Mercury retrograde. Emotions switch from the intellectual slant of Gemini to the more accepting and comforting qualities of Cancer.

If you think back over the last few weeks and if you could do anything differently or take back any words you said in the heat of the moment… what would it be? You may be finding you have a tendency to re live and re play over events just now and come up with solutions to them especially if they are linked to your love life which Venus rules.

This card shows that you can tend your garden (your “thoughts”) and prune out those that are not serving you well whilst at the same time replacing them with thoughts that will add to your growth and the growth of other ideas you may be having.

There is a tendency to reminisce today and the danger that may come with this is that you reminisce over negative experiences and give power to them. If you catch yourself doing this… or starting to do so… then stop and replace these negative thoughts with positives which will serve you better and also help with possibly mending any bridges with others who may have been casualties of Mercury’s recently bedlam.

Six of Cups

Six of Cups

You may feel as if you are being pulled back in time today although from the look of this image on the Six of Cups, being pulled back in time may not be such a bad thing after all.

With the gorgeous underground water environment as your playground and no swimming against the tide seen you can just enjoy yourself amongst your friends and family… with family possibly meaning those of a similar nature to yourself.

The new moon today forms a trine to Mars and as Mars has been possibly causing all types of setbacks and problems recently this is like a breath of fresh air and one that you should take advantage of given that the new moon falls in the sign of Gemini… a sign known for its intellectual agility.

Another area you may wish to reassess within your life today is where you “fit”.  The image on this card implies a wee girl floating around, having fun and allowing life to take her wherever it will and as she is within a water environment her emotions will be playing a large part as to how she is feeling. However, you do not want wish to allow your emotions to rule you entirely… although it might be fun for a while to feel that free and easy.

You may also wish to keep in mind that Mercury enters the sign of Cancer today where not only thoughts of your past will be running around your mind but also words you may wish to say to someone that you didn’t quite get the chance to complete whether from events in their life or your life holding you back.
