Weekly Astro Forecast — Mar 27, 2016 – April 2, 2016

Forecast

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Mar 27, 2016 – April 2, 2016:

We start the week on Sunday with a Moon in Scorpio sextiling Pluto and trining Venus. The Moon is debilitated in Scorpio but works very well with these transits — joining the planets that relate to love and sex with the Moon’s natural inclination toward closeness and intimacy.

The urge to merge is strong, especially in the early morning hours. This transit is good for exploring your sexuality and for expressing your deepest emotional and physical desires.

The Moon moves into Sagittarius on Monday and conjuncts Mars and then trines the Sun. As Mars is slowing down now (in anticipation of its turning retrograde in the coming weeks), it’s very close to being stationary at this time. This aspect is all about taking charge of your emotions and being proactive about getting your needs met (rather than expecting someone to do it for you). But you do want to be mindful of (and put a lid on) the negative side of Mars: anger, aggression, impatience and recklessness.

You’ll feel like slowing down anyway later in the day when the Moon conjuncts Saturn and all that excess energy catches up with you. Moon / Saturn not only slows you down but may have you second-guessing some of your earlier decisions. What seemed like such a good idea when you were filled with all that Martian energy starts to develop cracks. Shake it off though rather than allowing yourself to become consumed with doubts and regrets, as this aspect — like all Moon aspects — is fleeting.

Mercury inconjuncts Jupiter on Tuesday. This transit is complicated by the fact that Jupiter is both debilitated (by sign) and retrograde. As Mercury and Jupiter are natural polarities, there’s a tendency to struggle with indecision, uncertainty or absent-mindedness when these two planets are not in harmony.

With respect to their current placements, you want to make sure you have all the facts before you arrive at a decision, hold off on making promises that you might not be able to keep, and in general get clear about what you believe in before you start preaching your beliefs to others. The upside of this transit though is that it forces you to reevaluate what you do stand for and to make whatever adjustments are necessary to accommodate changing ideals.

Also on Tuesday, Venus conjuncts the South Node. This aspect signals the entrance into our lives of people we’re karmically linked with from past lives, as well as the exit of those who are no longer facilitating our growth. There are elements of fate associated with this aspect. Relationships that start or end during this transit are karmic in nature, so it’s important to treat them as sacred.

On Wednesday Mercury squares Pluto and trines Saturn. The Mercury Pluto square is associated with intrusive thoughts, anxieties and fears. It can feel like your mind is playing tricks on you, convincing you that something is real based on rudimentary “facts.” You want to be careful not to let your imagination run away with you, lest you find yourself growing increasingly paranoid. This aspect is great for ferreting out hidden information but is not so good at evaluating it objectively.

The trine to Saturn can tone down some of that Pluto suspicion and paranoia. It can help you stay grounded and provide enough logic and good old-fashioned common sense to not get too carried away. But it may not be easy for you to “lighten up” with this combination.

Venus also conjuncts Chiron on Wednesday. This aspect should see you becoming more aware of your own capacity for giving and for being able to put yourself in other people’s shoes. This is a charitable aspect that compels you to reach into the very depths of your soul — where compassion, forgiveness and understanding all reside — and bring forth that which is within you in order to pass it onto others.

Mercury conjuncts Uranus on Thursday. As Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury this transit brings flashes of insight and brilliance to the table. This is a time of tapping into your higher-consciousness. And you may be doing it without even realizing it. You might hear yourself speaking and wonder where did that come from? Or hear something that you’ve heard hundreds of times before and realize that NOW it makes sense.

Mercury / Uranus in Aries is an incredibly powerful combination. It’s progressive, innovative and pioneering, Don’t waste it vegging out in front of the tv. Express your ideas, speak your truth, learn something new and push your mind to its limits.

Friday’s Mercury inconjunct North Node automatically makes a corresponding semisextile to the South Node. This aspect can see you feeling at odds between what you see as your life’s purpose (the North Node) and where you are with respect to the adjustments that need to made in order to fulfill it. In what ways are you getting in your way and interfering with your progress?

As Mercury is tied to communications and ideas, chances are good you’re going to have to start walking the walk rather than just talking the talk. Think about which of your ideas are outdated or are not aligned with what you perceive as your calling. This is a recurrence of the Mercury / North Node inconjunct that we had at the end of February. But this time it’s a waning (8th house) inconjunct, which is tied to eliminating whatever is no longer working for you.

On Saturday, Venus conjuncts the asteroid Ceres. Venus exalted in Pisces and is naturally sensitive, compassionate and loving. The conjunction to Ceres increases this energy and brings a desire to care for and nurture others. It’s connected with the earth, with sustenance, with nourishment and with a love of animals. This transit makes for a peaceful, comfortable and beautiful ending to the week.

That’s it for this week, see you next Sunday!
