Weekly Astro Forecast — Oct 9, 2016 – Oct 15, 2016

Forecast

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Oct 9, 2016 – Oct 15, 2016:

We start this week with the Moon moving into first quarter phase (at 16 Capricorn 18′) on Sunday. This first-quarter Moon is closely conjunct Pluto, and will square Uranus before the day is through. This is a rather volatile signature, with the potential for power struggles and emotional confrontations exceedingly high.

As Moon transits are fleeting, these transits will probably only produce short-lived effects. They can manifest as irrational outbursts or forceful emotional displays. You may find yourself dealing with a temperamental loved one, or you could encounter a few impatient, angry or aggressive motorists if you choose to venture out.

The Moon moves into insightful, progressive and innovative Aquarius on Monday (where it remains through all of Tuesday and part of Wednesday). This is a bit of a mixed bag, with just as many hard aspects as there are soft ones. For the most part though, with the Moon forming trines to Mercury, Jupiter and the Sun, this should be a relatively comfortable start to the work-week.

Remember though that these Libra planets can be somewhat argumentative; they want to look at both sides to every picture and find a comfortable middle ground. With the Aquarius Moon preferring to disconnect from emotional investments, you may see yourself (or others) playing devil’s advocate or  and This shouldn’t come as a surprise, since Gemini is a dual sign and naturally prone to emotional twists and turns. Your best bet is to roll with the punches and be up for anything.

Tuesday’s transits are relatively harmonious, with Venus trining Chiron, Mars sextiling Neptune, and Mercury conjuncting Jupiter. Starting with the Venus / Chiron trine, this aspect may see you becoming more aware of your own capacity for giving and for being able to put yourself in other people’s shoes. This is a charitable aspect that compels you to reach into the very depths of your soul — where compassion, forgiveness and understanding all reside — and bring forth that which is within you in order to pass it onto others.

The Mars / Neptune sextile is sensitive, creative and idealistic. You may find that your intuition and psychic perceptions are off the charts during this time. The Mars / Neptune aspect can see you tuned into the music of the spheres like never before. This aspect reminds you that you are one with the Universe and everyone in it. It’s creative and compassionate and can inspire you to become a better person.

Also on Monday, Jupiter and Mercury come together in Libra. Here we have two natural polarities — the natural rulers of the 3rd and 9th houses — joined together in harmony. We have Mercury — the planet associated with communications and ideas — conjuncting Jupiter — the planet associated with benevolence, good will and generosity.

Among many other things, this transit is good for opening your heart to those you love and expressing appreciation and gratitude for all that you have. It’s good for coming together with others and celebrating your allegiances while honoring and accepting your differences. It’s a time for feeling inspired and optimistic about the future.

Moving onto Wednesday, Mercury inconjuncts Neptune, Mars trines the North Node (and sextiles the South Node) and Venus inconjuncts Uranus. Starting with the Mercury / Neptune inconjunct, this aspect can manifest as miscommunications and misunderstandings. You may feel like you’re walking around in a daze or that it’s hard to get your point across to others. You may also misunderstand the intentions and motivations of others.

This energy may be exacerbated by the Venus / Uranus inconjunct, which can indicate a need to let go of associations that have held you back or prevented you from achieving personal fulfillment. This aspect can put a strain on your love life by pitting your need for freedom and independence against your desire to connect intimately with another. It underscores the potential for missing (or misreading) important social cues.

As with all inconjunct aspects, the key to rebalancing this energy is adjusting your own perceptions and adapting your own approach.(or misreading) important social cues. As with all inconjunct aspects, the key to rebalancing this energy is adjusting your own perceptions and adapting your own approach.

Mars trine the North Node automatically sextiles the South Node, since the Nodes are always in opposition. This aspect is great for working with others on shared goals and ideals. It speaks of cooperation and collaboration, putting partnership or group needs ahead of individual ones.

On Thursday, Mercury squares Mars. This aspect can be tempestuous so consider taking a breath and count to 10 before you speak — especially if what you say can come across to others as angry or abrasive.

It can manifest as harsh words, confrontations, temper tantrums and impatience. And it can also be careless and / or reckless which translates to “accident prone.” Watch your step during this transit, in more ways than one.

Also on Thursday, the asteroid Ceres moves into Aries. This marks the onset of a time when you may be more aggressive about getting your needs met, particularly with respect to being nurtured by others. It can manifest as a desire to go after what you want and to assert your own desires more clearly.

Mercury sextiles Saturn on Friday, just as the Sun inconjuncts Chiron. The  Mercury / Saturn aspect is good for making plans or ironing out important details. It brings accuracy, precision and mental acuity to the forefront. You could be putting a dent in any research you’re doing that involves scientific or step-by-step analysis. Or you may be ironing out the details on something that may seem boring or tedious but is also very necessary.

This would be a good time to create a budget, work on a spreadsheet or set your mind on anything else that requires precision and accuracy. This aspect is good for getting the heart of the matter in serious discussions but can also be be so focused on the details that it fails to see the bigger picture. Keep this in mind if you catch yourself getting too caught up in minutiae as the efficiency that this aspect is known for can get lost in meaningless trivia.

It’s especially important to stay focused during since the the Sun / Chiron inconjunct can indicate a need to remedy an imbalance between the desire for self-actualization (the Sun) and the urge for self-sacrifice (Chiron). You don’t want to let your anxieties get in the way of accomplishing whatever you set out to do. This transit can manifest as self doubts and insecurities, so pay attention to what’s important and cast your worries aside.

We tie things up on Saturday with a Sun / Uranus opposition, across the Libra / Aries axis. This aspect can bring conflicts with friends or relationship partners to the forefront. The Sun and Uranus represent natural polarities, as the planets that rule Leo (the Sun) and Aquarius (Uranus). In this respect the opposition pits the desire to express yourself as an individual against your interest in figuring out where you fit in. The goal should be to find a middle ground between these two opposing views.

This transit can be willful and rebellious, so be mindful of loved ones’ need to be themselves. This is not the time to try to force someone into a specific role or exert your own expectations on others.
