Weekly Astrology Forecast — Apr 2, 2017 – April 8, 2017

Forecast

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Apr 2, 2017 – April 8, 2017:

We start this week on Sunday with Mercury trining the North Node. This aspect is all about developing a comfortable rapport with others. It’s about generating a meeting of the minds and communing with those who are on the same page. As the North and South Nodes are always in opposition, the North Node trines Mercury at the same time it sextiles the South Node.

Think of this as a relatively painless give and take, especially as these are both in Earth signs (Mercury in Taurus and the Node in Virgo). There will be an interesting recurrence of this transit in a few weeks, when both of them retrograde back into Fire signs and trine again (on May 19). But for now see it as a good time for mellow conversations and cooperation with others.

Venus retrogrades back into Pisces on Monday (where it will remain until April 28th). Venus is exalted in Pisces, meaning that it is an honored or revered placement. As Neptune — the modern ruler of Pisces — is the higher octave of Venus, this placement is said to be in essential dignity.

Venus in Pisces is sensitive, romantic and altruistic. It’s highly imaginative and naturally creative, with a penchant for fantasy or escapism. This transit can represent a time of feeling closer to others, craving a deep and meaningful connection to people from all walks of life. It’s a time of increased compassion and sensitivity, of seeing how connected we all are to one another and how unimportant our differences really are.

Take some time while Venus is in Pisces to get in touch with your softer, gentler side. See the beauty all around you — in nature, in the music and the arts, and in friends, loved ones and strangers. Let your imagination take flight and open your heart to those who may need little more than a kind word or a shoulder to lean on.

It trines the Moon on Tuesday, with both of these bodies being dignified (Venus exalted in Pisces and the Moon in Cancer, the sign it rules). But the Moon goes void of course for a couple hours later in the day until it moves into Leo.

The void of course Moon is a common occurrence; it marks the period of time between the Moon’s last aspect in one sign and its ingress into the next. Any aspects involving the Moon are temporary are likely to fly by almost imperceptibly. But that doesn’t mean this period of time will be uneventful. There are still always transits in play: planets interacting with one another and blending or communicating their unique energies.

On Wednesday there’s an inconjunct between Jupiter and Mars, which can briefly see you questioning the way you go about getting what you want. The inconjunct aspect calls for adjustments, and in this case it’s going to mean finding a middle ground between your desire to make things happen (Mars) and your tendency to rely on sheer luck (Jupiter).

Mars trines Pluto on Thursday, just as Saturn goes stationary direct. Starting with the Mars / Pluto trine: persistence pays off with this transit, especially anything you’re passionate about or that is tied to fulfilling your deepest, most intimate desires. You may be a bit obsessive about pursuing your goals, but the trine makes this process a bit more workable as it brings the Martian drive and determination into the mix.

Past meets present with Saturn turning retrograde begins moving backwards through Sagittarius. moving backwards through this sector. You may be thinking about what (and whom) you want to retain in your life vs. what (or whom) you want to leave behind. You may feel the need to step back and regroup. This can mean ironing out the kinks in a union that’s faltering or bringing someone new in.

Saturn turning retrograde can make things seem a whole lot bleaker than they are. And because this change in direction is more about going back and fixing things than it is about putting them to rest, you’d be much better served to take some time to figure out what you need rather than rushing to judgment. Depending on where this transit is occurring in your natal chart, it can apply do areas that are in need of resolution.

If it’s moving through your relationship sector for example, you may need to think about what you can do to get things back on the right track. This is especially important on Friday, as the ongoing Jupiter / Pluto opposition finally becomes exact. The Jupiter / Pluto aspect has been in effect for some time, but the partile aspect increase its intensity.

This transit can manifest as conflicts or power struggles. You may find yourself dealing with people who are self-righteous, judgmental or even fanatical about their belief systems. You may also have to look at areas that you yourself have been rigid and unwilling to listen to another’s point of view. This is not the time to get into heated political or philosophical debates you will find that the line is drawn firmly in the sand on both sides.

Relationship conflicts continue into the weekend as Venus squares Saturn on Saturday. This configuration delivers a healthy dose of hard cold reality (Saturn) to the overly-idealistic Venus archetype. It can throw a wrench into your plans or act as a wakeup call, especially if you’ve been riding along on fumes rather than paying attention to the road.

It can see you confronting your own inadequacies. It can magnify self-consciousness and inhibitions, leaving you feeling uncertain about your own self-worth. This can lead to misunderstandings or an overly sensitive response to an external event — such as a harsh word or criticism that hurts your feelings. This is not the best time to “put yourself out there” as the combination of these two aspects can magnify your own insecurities and leave you reeling with self-doubt.

Try to use this transit to wind down and not make any rash decisions, especially regarding your relationships. As Mercury will be going retrograde before the weekend is through (on Sunday), you’ll want to keep in mind that decisions made now are likely to get turned upside down in the coming days.
