Weekly Astrology Forecast — Mar 5, 2017 – Mar 11, 2017

Forecast

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Mar 5, 2017 – Mar 11, 2017:

We start this week with Mercury and Venus in semi-sextile and the Moon moving into first quarter phase (at 15° Gemini 04′) on Sunday.  The first quarter Moon is closely aspecting both Mercury and Venus, with a square to the former and a sextile to the latter.

As Moon transits are fleeting, these transits will probably only produce short-lived effects. They can manifest as minor irritants and misunderstandings (the square to Mercury), but can also bring a desire to resolve differences and get back on the same page (the sextile to Venus) at the same time.

Also on Sunday we have a nice Mars / Saturn trine. Mars is in its own sign (Aries) until Friday while Saturn is presently strengthened by being in its own terms. This is a good time to take plans that have been thoroughly and painstakingly finessed (Saturn) and put them into action (Mars).

While Mars / Saturn trines are not particularly lucky, they do present opportunities as long as you’re willing to work for them. This transit is strengthened somewhat by the Moon’s moving further into Gemini on Monday.

It trines Jupiter early in the day and then sextiles Mars (and opposes Saturn) later on. The trine to Jupiter and sextile to Mars can lighten up your mood and have you feeling more like socializing and interacting with others. But the opposition to Saturn brings you back down to earth, reminding you that there is work to be done so you might as well do it.

Tuesday’s Sun / Mercury conjunction brings the planet that rules the “Self” and personal identity (Sun) together with the planet that rules communications and ideas together and melds their influences into one. This is only one of two aspects (the conjunction and semi-sextile) these two bodies can make, due the fact that they are never more than 28° apart.

The exact conjunction is what is referred to by classical astrologers as “cazimi” (in the heart of the Sun). It’s influence is said to be heightened and energized by the Sun, but because Mercury is debilitated by sign and is essentially “hidden” by the Sun, this aspect can be somewhat problematic. The main thing to watch for is information that is hidden or lacking which can result in making ill-informed decisions.

Mercury’s sextile to Pluto on Wednesday is all about deep thoughts and penetrating insights. But you don’t want to keep these to yourself. The sextile speaks of joining hands with others, and sharing information that causes you to stop and think.

The Moon is in Cancer though on Wednesday and will oppose Pluto for a few hours in the middle of the day. So make sure those “penetrating insights” are worth sharing. The potential for someone to read too much between the lines and ascribe some sinister meaning to them is also strong.

Because the Sun and Mercury are still moving side-by-side, the Sun joins in and sextiles Pluto on Thursday. This aspect emphasizes personal power and charisma. It represents a time of increased confidence and comfort in going after what you want without feeling the urge to resort to aggression or force.

This is especially important as Mars will be at the final degree (an anaretic of fated degree) of Aries on Thursday as well. This is like a triple-whammy of Martian or Arian energy which can manifest as an over-the-top urgency to make things happen or get things done. Best to rely on the Sun / Pluto restraint energy during this time rather than rushing full speed ahead.

Mars does move into Taurus on Friday. Mars is said to be in detriment in Taurus, as the polarity point of one of the signs it naturally rules, Scorpio. What this means is that it’s not comfortable in Taurus, as the calm, peaceful, sensuous and slow-moving Taurean archetype is strained when filtered through the Martian natural aggressive, dynamic energy.

If Mars represents what we’re compelled to “do” — what we are willing to fight for — Mars in Taurus can frustrate that energy as any Mars in Taurus individual will tell you that they’d much rather make love than war. But with that said, this marks the onset of a 6-week period where we’re likely to want to slow down a bit, stop and smell the flowers (or better yet, plant some — as this is one of the things Mars in Taurus people do best!) rather than rushing headlong into the next big thing.

This gentle, loving energy carries us through to the end of the week with a Mercury / Chiron conjunction Saturday. This transit can bring in opportunities to heal yourself through working with and comforting others.

This can be a profoundly cathartic experience, wherein you not only understand exactly what someone is going through, but can relate to it on a level you weren’t even aware of until you witnessed it through someone else’s eyes.

That’s it for this week, see you next week!
