Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Oct 22, 2018 – Oct 28, 2018:
We start this week with Mercury sextiling Pluto and the Sun inconjuncting Chiron on Monday. The Mercury / Pluto aspect is all about deep thoughts and penetrating insights. But you don’t want to keep these to yourself. The sextile speaks of joining hands with others, and sharing information that causes you to stop and think.
The Sun / Chiron inconjunct is a different story: it describes a need to remedy an imbalance between the desire for self-actualization (the Sun) and the urge for self-sacrifice (Chiron). With the inconjunct aspect in play — and especially as both of these planets are at anaretic degrees –, there is a need to make adjustments and to find a middle ground between dissimilar energies, in this case the Sun and Chiron. Considering that the Sun is tied to your life force, will and self-expression, while Chiron is associated with deep-seated wounds, this aspect requires us to find ways to heal those wound without compromising who you are.
The Sun moves into Scorpio on Tuesday. This indicates a period of seeking meaning in all things and of looking for more substance and depth in our lives. We may stop taking things at face value and ask ourselves what is really going on here? What does it all mean? We may become less interested in engaging in superficial social activities and opt to work more behind the scenes.
You may see increased focus in your life in the area this transit takes place in your natal chart. You may find yourself unraveling mysteries about yourself or coming to terms with things you’ve been in denial about in the past. Take some time this week to look at yourself, your own agendas and hidden motivations during this time.
We have a Full Moon in Taurus — the Full “Hunter’s Moon” — on Wednesday.
The October Full Moon provides an overview of the progress you’ve made since its New Moon counterpoint earlier this month.
Seeds that were planted then will surely have sprouted; do you need to make adjustments or change your course entirely? Now is the time to think about what you’ve accomplished and where you want to go from here.
Because it’s in Taurus, you are likely to be thinking a lot about your finances, your income, earnings and savings. It‘s also a good time to look at changes you want to make in your environment (such as home renovations or landscaping) as well.
As Taurus is a fixed, feminine earth sign, it’s a good time to think about our value systems, the things that we hold near and dear, which as most of us know by now are not always “things.” We can [put good use to this energy by thinking about what is most meaningful for us, and what we can do to cultivate it during this time.
Also on Wednesday, Venus sextiles Saturn, making for some solid and productive changes in your relationships. It’s a good time to sit down and have a heart-to-heart with a loved one, as the Venus part of this aspect brings grace and diplomacy to an interchange that’s likely to have heavy undertones (Saturn).
This is a time for thinking more seriously about where you stand and what you want out of your relationships. It’s cooperative though, not combative. So there’s a lot of room for compromising your ideals with those of your partner, and for making rational mature decisions about where you go from here.
This is important because there’s another transit on Wednesday that is karmic in nature but can also be much more volatile. This is the Sun / Uranus and North and South Nodes involved in a grand-cross configuration. It can manifest as unexpected or erratic confrontations with others. The Sun / Uranus portion of this aspect can bring conflicts with friends or relationship partners to the forefront. The Sun and Uranus represent natural polarities, as the planets that rule Leo (the Sun) and Aquarius (Uranus). In this respect the opposition pits the desire to express yourself as an individual against your interest in figuring out where you fit in. The goal should be to find a middle ground between these two opposing views.
This transit can be wilful and rebellious, so be mindful of loved ones’ need to be themselves. This is not the time to try to force someone into a specific role or exert your own expectations on others. Especially since the square these planets make to the North and South Nodes are said to be karmic in nature with can result in long-standing repercussions.
The Sun moves ahead, and Venus (which is retrograde) moves back to form a conjunction on Friday. This occurs at 3° Scorpio 06, and is an inferior conjunction, (when Venus is exactly between the Earth and the Sun). The superior conjunct counterpoint occured back in January, at 18 Capricorn. The inferior conjunction begins in the middle of the retrograde cycle, and is followed about 10 days later by its heliacal rising. This is the point where Venus is far enough away from its conjunction to the Sun to be visible as it rises before it.
The Sun / Venus conjunction emphasizes love, affection, beauty and romance. As Venus is retrograding back to the Sun it may bring someone back in from your past. If this is the case keep in mind that it may not last. But it’s still a good time to tell those you love exactly how you feel.
Things slow down as we end the week, with the Sun sextiling Saturn on Sunday. With this transit, you can get a lot accomplished in the workplace. It’s a good time to make plans and to assess progress that’s already been made. This aspect is both incredibly disciplined and productive, so if you want to get something done now is the time to do it.
The Sun / Saturn aspect is focused, disciplined, ambitious and goal-oriented. Bring these two planets together in a harmonious 60 degree angle (sextile) and you’ve got a fantastic recipe for success. And this is serious business: you may not feel like putting your party hat on, but you can get make some serious headway during this time.
That’s it for this week. See you next week!
