Weekly Astrology Forecast — Jun 11, 2018 – Jun 17, 2018:

Forecast

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Jun 11, 2018 – Jun 17, 2018:

We’ve got an eventful week ahead, with two planets (Mercury and Venus) and an asteroid (Vesta) changing signs, and a New Moon in Gemini. As  busy as all that sound though, we may still get off to a slow start — with the Moon in calm, gentle, earthy Taurus on Monday and with nothing (aside from Chiron) in Fire signs.

The Moon is exalted in Taurus and is in mutual reception with Venus for the next couple days. This combination is both sensuous and indulgent, so if you feel like getting something done, it’s good for more than just lounging around the house. It’s good for putting your culinary skills to use, remodeling your home, doing yard work, gardening or landscaping, or anything that amounts to creating luxury and beauty in your environment.

Mercury moves into Cancer on Tuesday. This is an inordinately sensitive and intuitive placement, capable of seeing all of the many facets of an object (or a person, or situation) with just a cursory glance. It can see you taking a trip down memory lane. Unexpected reminders of the past — songs playing on the radio, sights and sounds and scents from your childhood, even dreams of people you haven’t seen in years — can make you nostalgic and thinking about the past.

But because it is so sensitive, it’s also prone toward moodiness and defensiveness. You want to make sure you’re not making mountains out of molehills, reading too much between the lines or taking things too personally during this time. It can’t hurt to reach out to someone from your past (especially family members you haven’t kept up with as much as you’d like) and let them know they’ve been on your mind.

On Wednesday, we have a New Moon in at 22° Gemini 44. The New Moon phase is very much alive. Everything seems fresh and new and each experience brings with it something you hadn’t paid attention to before. It’s a time for laughter and gaiety, spontaneity and companionship.

This is especially fitting of the Gemini Moon, which is known for being curious, restless, playful and whimsical, and now more than ever with the Moon and Mercury in mutual reception.

Following along with that same theme, the Sabian Symbol for this degree is “Three fledglings in a nest high in a tree.‘ This symbol speaks more about interacting with others — as well as a complex inter-reliance on those we’re close to — than it does anything else.

This symbol refers to the importance of not only connecting with like-minded people, but working (and potentially living) closely with one another. You may find yourself in a position of needing to rely on others during this time. Or you may be one providing comfort or sustenance to someone who’s reached out to you for help.

Also on Wednesday, Mars conjuncts the South Node (thus automatically opposing the North Node). This transit encourages you to be mindful of your actions (and your reactions) as the South Node is tied to karmic events and repercussions. It’s also about determining your role in group interactions. Remember that there needs to be a good balance between give and take: don’t try to force your views on others, or you could wind up alienating them.

Fortunately Mercury also sextiles Uranus on Wednesday (although it also squares Chiron). The Mercury / Uranus sextile can lead to encounters with others that open us up on this day to new ways of thinking. These encounters are likely to be both thought-provoking and innovative. As Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury, this transit is great for brainstorming and thinking outside the box. It brings insight and awareness to the surface. It’s all about radical ideas and flashes of brilliance.

The square to Chiron is a little trickier. It can bring feelings of guilt and regret to the surface. You may be questioning whether you’ve done enough to help others or whether you’ve said the right things. You may also be more gullible than usual so be careful you don’t fall prey to some undeserving culprit’s sob story.

Venus moves into Leo on Thursday (depending on where in the world you’re located: in some areas it moves in late Wednesday night). Venus in Leo is warm and expressive, loyal, dignified, and proud. This is an incredibly dynamic placement, with the planet associated with love, romance and beauty posited in the sign that magnifies those influences.

Venus in Leo is all about leading with your heart. It’s about learning to love others through first loving yourself and expressing your romantic sensibilities passionately and confidently. it’s also about appearances. It’s about commanding respect from others and taking center stage. It’s about showing the rest of the world what you’re made of: conducting yourself with honor, integrity and grace.

Moving on to Friday, we have Venus squaring Uranus and trining Chiron. Starting with the Venus / Uranus square, conflicts can erupt — from seemingly out of nowhere — in both your personal relationships and your interactions with others. This aspect pits the urge to merge against the desire for freedom and independence so could see you on a completely different page from your loved ones.

The Venus / Chiron aspect can see you becoming more aware of your own capacity for giving and for being able to put yourself in other people’s shoes. This is a charitable aspect that compels you to reach into the very depths of your soul — where compassion, forgiveness and understanding all reside — and bring forth that which is within you in order to pass it onto others.

Mercury opposes Saturn on Saturday. This can be a bit of a downer or a rain-on-your-parade aspect, with the planet ruling thoughts and ideas (Mercury) in conflict with the planet ruling restrictions and limitations. It can manifest as an existential crisis, but only if you let it. Since oppositions are always about “forced integration,” you want to think about ways to satisfy both of these energies.

Saturn opposite Mercury can see you questioning the value of your ideas. You may feel more self-conscious during this time, or more hesitant to put yourself out there. But by integrating these energies — as in clearing out the cobwebs in your mind and making informed, practical decisions — you can get a lot accomplished.

That’s it for this week; see you next week!
