The World

Aries: The World

You should be feeling like you’re on top of the world this month, with five planets — including the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Chiron and the New Moon — in your sign. This is going to be a great time to prepare for the next chapter in your life, which may also require you to tie up some loose ends.

If you took stock of what’s changed for you in the last year (from one birthday to the next), you might be surprised at how has happened. And the World card tells you you’re right on the verge of checking those things off your bucket list and preparing to tackle more.

This is the World card from the Jaen Tarot. It’s the last card in the deck, completing the Fool’s journey. As such, this card speaks of achievement, fulfillment, integration and completion.

And just like the Fool, you’re now coming full-circle, from instinct to essence to progress to development, as you come to the end one cycle and prepare to embark on a new one.

You could be finishing a course or internship, tying up lose ends on a project that you’re ready to launch, putting a failed relationship behind you and getting back into the dating scene, finishing (and feeling good about) a self-improvement regimen. The possibilities are endless.

The World card is a card of both fulfillment and completion. With that in mind, it’s time to put the finishing touches on projects that are almost finished, and also time to rest anything that just didn’t pan out for you. You’re preparing to start a whole new journey, and in doing so will want to with as clean a slate as possible.

TAURUS: Four of SwordsFour of Swords

At the start of this month you may be feeling the need to get away from it all, especially if you’ve grown tired  of the strains of mundane chores and responsibilities.

With several planets — including the New Moon — occupying your 12th house, you could just be longing to escape from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life.

The Four of Swords — the version from Nigel Jackson’s Medieval Enchantment Tarot — encourages you to disengage from the noise and distractions that surround you and find your strength through recovery.

It could be as simple as getting out of town for the weekend to relax and recharge your batteries. And it could be as profound as going on a life-altering pilgrimage or spiritual retreat.

The figure in this card rests peacefully under a starry sky, He’s tucked in to his own personal sanctuary — a sumptuous tent, luscious blankets and pillow, his sword and helmet resting outside. The four swords also seem to cast a protective shield above him.

If you’re able to get away for a bit, then by all means do it!  You may just need to wind down before these planets all start crossing into your first house (beginning around the middle of April). But until then look for ways to restore your sanity. Meditation, breathwork, self-imposed silence, etc. — any one of these should do you a world of good.

Two of PentaclesGEMINI: Two of Pentacles

This month, with Mars in your sign — out of bounds and in mutual reception with Mercury — you may see yourself juggling so many different interests and responsibilities that it’s hard to know which end is up.

This is the Two of Pentacles from the Druid Craft Tarot. It speaks of needing to be flexible needing to be able to shift from one task to another without losing focus.

Notice the two pentacles the woman in is juggling deftly on this card. They look identical, and this may refer to their level of importance in the realm of larger considerations. But as far as what you want to accomplish this month (as opposed to what needs to get done), they’re probably not equal at all.

It could be work and responsibilities vs. pleasure and play. It could be relationships vs. autonomy. Or it could even be up time (productivity) vs. down time (rest). Whatever it is, you don’t want to be so focused on weighing your options that you lose sight of what’s going on around you.

In the midst of all this rocky terrain this woman is standing on solid ground. Even with the storm brewing in the background and the shipwreck taking place right behind her. Maybe she feels safe because she’s somewhat sheltered from the storm. Or maybe she’s so invested in trying to balance out her priorities that she doesn’t even notice it. One thing’s for sure: if she loses her concentration and ends up dropping the ball, everything she’s striving for will fall out of balance.

Think about what you need to balance in your own life today as opposed to what deserves your undivided attention. It may require levels of skill and dexterity that you didn’t even know you had. If you can pull it off though and find ways to satisfy one area without neglecting the other, it should be tremendously rewarding for you in the end.

sorcerers tarot 6 of wandsCancer: Six of Wands

This month — with 5 planets moving through your 10th house (the area associated with the public and your reputation) — you could be in line for some well-deserved recognition or acknowledgement from others.

The Six of Wands — this version from the Sorcerers Tarot — is associated with support, approval and acclaim, brought about by something you’ve worked hard to achieve.

You may have been putting a lot of effort into your work without even realizing that others have taken notice. Or you could be unexpectedly pulled aside by a loved one, just to let you know how much you’re loved and appreciated.

The Six of Wands is a card of appreciation and admiration. You “win” something and have earned the right to be satisfied with the spoils of your victory. This isn’t about ego or conceit and it’s never at someone else’s expense. There’s a strong sense of being supported and lifted up by others who rejoice right along with you.

This is not the time to “bask in your glory,” but rather a time to mirror back to those who are acknowledging you the same sense of gratitude and appreciation. It’s a time to remember the little people — those who have helped you a long the way.

Whatever form this takes for you this month, know that you’ve earned it and that you deserve it. It may just give you the incentive to keep shooting for the stars and manifesting your highest goals.

Three of Wands

LEO: Three of Wands

You’ve got five planets moving through your 9th house — the area associated with growth and learning and aspiring to greater things — this month. As a result, you may be just bursting at the seams with the passion and enthusiasm needed to set your long-term goals in motion.

The Three of Wands — this version from the Archeon Tarot — indicates a renewed sense of purpose, clarity and motivation – the desire and willingness to “make something happen!”

You may already have a new project in the works, in which case you’re probably beginning to see the fruits of your labors pay off. Or you may be on the verge of launching a new project, and if that’s the case, there’s no better time than the present.

Notice that the Pegasus in this deck is both watching over his shoulder (toward what has already been accomplished) and preparing to take flight. There’s a nobility also associated with this card, which is befitting the majestic stance of our winged friend.

The Three of Wands embodies such a powerful life-force energy that it never permits itself to be “still.” It’s always improving. You may have recently discovered that you’ve found your life’s purpose. Or you may be just now acting on aspirations that you were too afraid to reach for in the past. Either way, this card speaks of a new burst of inspiration, a second wind, and the confidence with which to see it through.

If you’re starting something new try to inject yourself fully into it starting now, as from this point forward, you’re going to have opportunities to expand your horizons. Whether that means through travel, enterprise, education or career, the Three of Wands tells you that now is the time to spread your wings and fly!

VIRGO: Six of PentaclesSix of Pentacles

This month, you may feel the urge to reach out and lend a helping hand to someone who needs it.

The Six of Pentacles is all about benevolence — giving what you can afford to give: whether it’s your time, your money or your energy — to someone who needs it more than you.

In this version of the card — from the Vertigo Tarot — we see the mirror images of a positive and negative (or black and white) set of hands. Six coins (pentacles) are spread across the images, also in perfect harmony.

As stark as the imagery in this card is, the message is still very clear. Along with the obvious first impression: “one hand washing the other,” there’s an implicit understanding that everything we put out there comes back to us eventually, in one way or another other.

Money is only one form of energy, yet most of us struggle with balancing the value we place on it in comparison to other things. We think mainly of money when we think about giving, until we realize that the thing that matters most turns out not to be a “thing” at all. It’s more likely to be words of encouragement, validation and support.

The Six of Pentacles serves as a reminder to pay attention to (and be grateful for) the blessings that you receive. You may find yourself loosening your purse strings after all, or you may find yourself the recipient of someone else’s good will.

Either way, it’s all about appreciating the pathways between giving and receiving, to the extent that there are no expectations for being repaid. The Six of Pentacles encourages you to give because you can and because the gratitude you receive in exchange is more than enough reward in the end.

Queen of WandsLibra: Queen of Wands

This month, with your ruling planet (Venus) lined up with four other planets in Aries, you’re more than likely going to be feeling the desire to make your presence known.

This is the Queen of Wands from Kat Black’s Golden Tarot. This version comes from the famed French painter Enguerrand Quarton’s stunning Coronation of the Virgin, representing the Virgin’s Mary’s elevation to Queen of Heaven.

The Queen of Wands is warm, vibrant, confident and creative. She knows how to lead with her heart and to garner the respect of others.

She may be someone in your life, or she may represent an event or a part of yourself. She may be a supervisor, a parent, a friend or even some facet of yourself that has long been dormant. She embodies the feminine or yin aspects of Fire (wands) energy: warmth, enthusiasm, energy, passion and drive.

If this card refers to you, see it as a reminder that you do possess these qualities and may need to reincorporate them into your personality. The presence of this card encourages you to recapture the essence of the Queen of Wands and put her to good use.

Or if you’ve been hiding in the shadows or downplaying some of the more expressive aspects of your personality, now is the time to step up and be seen. The Queen of Wands encourages you to get out there and put your best foot forward, in whatever capacity you can.

Scorpio: Eight of Pentacles8-of-coins

This month may see you being more productive and focused on making more money. With five in your work sector, and with your ruler (Mars) in one of your money sectors, this should be a time for honing your skills as well as finding ways to monetize them.

The Eight of Pentacles is a card of craftsmanship — however that might apply to you. It can be as simple as being 100 % focused on your work and wanting to show the powers that be your level of dedication and service. And it can be as innovative as taking something you are uniquely capable of and turning it into a career.

In this version — from the Tarot of the Magical Forest — a little fox busies himself at his workbench, examining the pentacles he’s crafted and making sure they’re up to snuff. Six pentacles are displayed on the wall behind him and as he prepares to put the finishing touches on one and tinker with another.

The Eight of Pentacles is also known as the apprentice card. It refers to taking on an interest and devoting yourself fully to it. It doesn’t have to be career related, but because it’s a labor of love wouldn’t it be great if it were? Doing what you love and seeing the money follow is something we all aspire to achieve.

The Eight of Pentacles can refer to an all-work / no-play mentality. But this is all relative, as the hours that you’re putting in will likely not feel like “work” at all. Not if you truly love what you do. This is about being fully engrossed in what you’re learning, creating or developing.

Take some time this month — even if you’re still somewhere punching that clock — and think about what you really want to be doing. Chances are good that once you start seriously thinking about your options, taking steps toward making them happen will come to you naturally.

Sagittarius: Seven of CupsSeven of Tulips

You may struggle with making decisions this month, especially in romantic endeavors or those involving matters of the heart.

With five planets occupied your 5th house (the area associated with love and romance) you may find that there are too many decisions to make and too many distractions that get in the way of making them.

This is the Seven of Cups from the Rabbit Tarot. It’s generally associated with confusion and uncertainty, the result of having too many choices and no clear point of view.

Your instincts may be blurred by irrational thoughts or fantasies. Or it may be a case of wishful thinking, that can interfere with actual progress.

This is the dilemma with the Seven of Cups. There are elements of distraction, temptation and seduction all rolled into one.

What you long for looks so appealing while what you have appears so drab. But it’s just an illusion and even if it weren’t — even if it were perfectly attainable — it’s not going to come about by sitting around daydreaming about it.

The message behind this card is to aim for reachable goals and to participate in attaining them rather than allowing yourself to fall into the trap of wishful thinking.

CAPRICORN: Ten of CupsTen of Cups

Your focus this month — with 5 planets moving through your 4th house — will be primarily on matters of the home, your family, your children and the life you have created for yourself over time.

The 4th house — as well as this gorgeous version of the Ten of Cups from Dana Driscoll’s Tarot of Trees — is about family, camaraderie, hospitality, togetherness and benevolence.

It’s about joining together with like-minded people to create a reality you can be proud of. It refers to arriving at a place in your life where you can fully acknowledge and celebrate the relationships you’ve developed, whether these are family relationships, social connections, casual relationships, friendships or love affairs.

The tree in this card didn’t grow to such heights overnight. It’s been tended to over the years, just as your relationships with others must be tended to.And like those relationships, it’s taken a central place in this card, framed by an archway lined with 9 golden cups. The 10th cup is the tree itself, into which all of the love, kindness and gratitude has been poured.

Take time this month to let those nearest and dearest to you know how important they are. While the Ten of Cups is also said to indicate the culmination of something, that doesn’t mean you’ve come to the end of the road. This card is all about embracing all you’ve established through your connections and interactions with those who matter most — with your family, friends and loved ones.

King of SwordsAQUARIUS: King of Swords

This month you’re likely to be thinking more on about doing business and making your place in the world than you will be anything else.

With Saturn and Jupiter both in your sign and a lineup of planets moving through your 2nd and 3rd houses, your focus will more on financial and professional achievements.

The King of Swords is all about power and authority. Success, Accomplishment. Strategy. Intelligence. You’ll have all of these things at your fingertips and should be taking advantage of them — particularly in the first two weeks of the month.

This is a time for putting your ideas out there — verbally or in writing — and communicating them to others. It’s not the time for ambivalence or uncertainty.

Look at the King in this card, from the Gypsy Palace Tarot. He’s a bit more colorful and flamboyant than we’re using to seeing with the King of Swords. He’s usually rather stoic and somber.

But this version is just spirited enough to capture the dynamic and playful Aries planets that are occupying the most enterprising areas of your chart.  This King says you can have the best of both worlds. It doesn’t have to be all work and no play. And you won’t get anywhere if it’s all play and no work.

Think about putting your own unique and creative spin on whatever you’re trying to accomplish this month. You can expect good things if put yourself out there, and if you play your cards right you can do it without having to sacrifice any of your own personal flair.

Pisces: Two of Cups

As this month begins, your relationship rulers — Neptune and Mercury — will be together in your sign, setting the stage for focus on the more romantic, creative and expressive aspects of falling in Love.

It’s this process of falling in love that reveals to us — in perfect clarity — ourselves at our very best. It’s where we put our best version of ourselves forward and the Universe responds by opening up unanticipated doors.

This is the Two of Cups from the  Guardian of the Night Tarot. It illustrates this concept beautifully, with the two elephants perfectly mirroring one another while balancing identical gold chalices on their heads.

The Two of Cups is known as the “Love” card as it refers to that love at first sight sense of finding your other half. It’s the mutual attraction card, the “soulmate” card, and so much more. It’s the process of falling in love or renewing a love connection that replenishes itself over time.

There’s a synergy that pulls two people together and echoes their feelings back to one another. In this respect the Two of Cups is more about falling in love with yourself, as seen through your loved one’s eyes.

If you meet someone new this month, consider it an opportunity for growth. It could be the yin to your yang — or it could just be a friend who shows you the true meaning of the word. You may also be working on revamping your current connection or reuniting with a loved one. Whichever it is, be grateful for the opportunity to renew your faith in love.
