July begins with Mercury retrograde in late Cancer, Mars conjunct Uranus in early Gemini and Jupiter in early Leo opposing Pluto retrograde in early Aquarius. That’s a lot of energy foretelling major changes in those signs.
Mercury will be retrograde in Cancer through July 23, moving from 26 degrees back to 19 degrees within those dates. You know the dictum with Mercury retrograde, don’t sign or don’t buy big-ticket items during a retrograde period. And be aware that you may miss critical bits of information at this time.
The Mars / Uranus conjunction at 3° of Gemini is a little trickier as this combo is explosive and often associated with electrical issues, fires, accidents, earthquakes, volcanos and unexpected events that can be deadly. It is a hot, dry energy, which is currently the condition of many parts of the western US right now anyway. More forest fires are likely during this weekend and the following week. I would avoid being around fireworks during any July 4th activities with this energy in place.
I tend to think of Mars and Uranus together as accident-prone, but the energy can definitely be put to good use as it is happening in playful and fun Gemini so do something social, meet with friends in a spontaneous way or go dancing! Dancing is a great way to use the energy, even if you are dancing alone. So, shake your booty this weekend! It can also be lucky as it makes a sextile to Jupiter and a trine to Pluto.
On July 1st, Jupiter entered Leo, a compatible fire sign for him, but Jupiter tends to make things bigger, more extreme or just exaggerate anything it rules or touches. As he moves closer to the exact opposition with Pluto by July 19, this could also exacerbate the hot, dry, windy conditions as Leo is a fire sign and Aquarius is an air sign. Pluto is often associated with hidden agendas, secrets, crime, dictators, atomic power and the underworld. These two planets are fortunately making good aspects to the Mars / Uranus conjunction in Gemini so there’s some good coming out of this energy. We shall see whose secrets get revealed.
Venus moves from 20 degrees of Leo to 23 degrees of Virgo throughout the month and enters Virgo on July 9. Virgo is not all that comfortable for Venus as its fastidious nature clashes with her expansive, harmonious nature. Do your best not to be too critical of others at this time.
Saturn moves from 14 degrees, 12’ of Aries to 14 degrees, 45’ of Aries and begins its 4 1/2 month retrograde cycle on July 26. He goes back to 7 degrees 55’ of Aries by December 10, where he last was in the middle of April, 2026. There may be details you need to attend to related to that early spring period. Take time to make the necessary corrections to projects or issues uncovered during this retrograde.
Neptune moves slowly and begins its retrograde period on July 7, moving from 4 degrees, 25’ of Aries to 4 degrees 14’ of Aries during the month. Neptune’s energy can cause confusion, brain fog or just a lack of motivation in general, but particularly during the hot summer months when the body is under stress from the heat anyway. Rest when you feel the need and allow yourself some leeway to just read, relax or daydream. Not all of life needs to be linear and future oriented.
We also have the transiting nodes moving backward into new signs this month, going from 0 degrees, 45’ of Pisces (north node) and 0 degrees, 45’ of Virgo (south node) to 29 degrees 49’ of Aquarius (north node) and 29 degrees, 49’ of Leo (south node). The south node tends to dissolve or diffuse what it touches so people with planets or angles at 29 degrees of Leo will be affected the most.

Aries — March 21-April 19: You have two planets in your sign, Saturn and Neptune and both go into retrograde motion this month. While your ruler, Mars, joins up with Uranus in early Gemini for a highly energized pairing, Saturn is going to make you a little less lively with its station at 14 degrees. Watch your words if you are around any siblings as you’ll be misunderstood. But just let it go and don’t get sarcastic or snippy with them, laugh it off and move on. In any event, just be safe and don’t take risks in the first half of the month. The positive lunar vibes of the 6th, 7th and AM hours of the 8th favor you.
Taurus — April 20-May 20: Money could be a bit erratic this month with the Mars and Uranus vibe in your solar second house. It is most intense this weekend, but Uranus will be in that house for about 6 more years! Feel free to show off or dress really well the first 9 days of the month while your ruler, Venus, is transiting flamboyant Leo. You’ll feel more frugal and demure the rest of the month as the vibe shifts to conservative Virgo. Saturn demands you get adequate rest while in Aries and your solar 12th house, so take that nap! Your stellar days are the PM hours of the 8th, the 9th, and the AM hours of the 10th.
Gemini — May 21-June 21: With Mars conjunct Uranus, there’s an erratic or restless energy around you now, particularly for the first 10 days of the month. So, make sure you do something unusual and different from your normal amusements. And you Geminis, in particular, should dance a lot this weekend! Venus is transiting your 3rd and then 4th houses, so it’s time to be social. The outer planets and Jupiter are in great aspects to your sign, so feel free to open up to inspiration and new ideas. The PM hours of the 10th, the 11th and AM hours of the 12th are your best days.
Cancer — June 22-July 23: You have 2 planets in your sign and solar 1st house right now, the Sun and the Mercury retrograde. But Jupiter just moved into your 2nd house and you will gain some assets, money and self-esteem this coming year. You are still illuminated by that Jupiter transit and is now being reinforced by the Sun and Mercury. Enjoy the good vibes! With Mars and Uranus in your solar 11th house of friends, groups and professional associations, there’s some change afoot with that aspect of life, and new interests will be showing themselves to you. Say yes. The lunar vibes of the 13th and the new Moon on the 14th favor you.
Leo — July 24-August 23: Ah….Jupiter just entered your sign on the 1st where he will transit through until July of 2027. This should be quite fortuitous for you as Jupiter expands what it touches, and you can definitely expand your range of contacts, just be aware of the potential for weight gain. He also will rule the 5th and 8th houses, which rules creativity, fun, children and our natural intelligence for the 5th and end of life matters, insurances, taxes, deep psychology and transformation. Kind of a conundrum with that pairing of parts of life being expanded, in my opinion, but oh well, you just get through it and enjoy the new horizons. The days of the 15th and 16th should work out well for your intentions.
Virgo — August 24-September 22: The Mars / Uranus conjunction is happening at the top of your solar chart in the 10th house of profession/career/public image. You’ve got some major changes in front of you but you don’t feel you have to make the decision today. If you can delay decisions until the end of the month for big stuff, do so. Mercury, your ruler, will be in direct motion then and will be able to guide you to the best judgment. Keep the attitude, change is good, going strong within your mind. Your best days are the 17th and 18th.
Libra — September 23-October 22: There are interesting aspects happening for you as Mars and Uranus occupy your solar 9th house, the Sun and Mercury in your 10th, and Jupiter enters your 11th house, which Venus already inhabits. That’s public image territory and career advancement. Take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way and explore and join new groups and associations. It’s the old adage of “make hay while the sun shines”, with these planets gracing that part of your chart. Great days to make gains are the 19th and 20th.
Scorpio — October 23-November 22: Interesting aspects for you as Jupiter enters your solar 10th house and the Mars Uranus conjunction is in your solar 8th. There’s expansion in your career/profession/public image, but some kind of loss as well with an active 8th house and Pluto at the very bottom in the 4th. Jupiter gives you some protection and gains, but you have to be careful with your property and investments. Things are shifting and you need to stay on top of your assets and property. It all works out as those planets make positive aspects to each other, but it still could be a roller coaster at times. The lunar vibes favor you on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd.
Sagittarius — November 23-December 20: Jupiter just entered Leo, a fellow fire sign, and begins to transit your solar 9th house of foreign travel, the law, religion, philosophy and publishing. There’s a lot that can happen for you with Jupiter in that house as he is expansive and positive. Maybe it’s time for a trip abroad or to someplace that feels different but also welcoming to you. Mars and Uranus in your solar 7th house indicates a sudden separation or split from a personal or a business relationship. Uranus will be in that house for about 6 more years so that part of life will remain fluid and changeable. It will be OK as sometimes things are just over and you both know it. Your best days are the 24th and 25th.
Capricorn — December 21-January 20: With Saturn squaring your sign in Aries and going retrograde this month in your solar 4th house of home, real estate, and family, there’s a kind of stalled energy around that part of your life and then erratic, electric energy around other aspects of that house with the Mars / Uranus conjunction in your solar 6th house ruling the 4th house. You just gotta go with the flow here, as you could have some periods of doldrums and then almost emergency situations that require quick action. It will be kind of wild, so you’ll have to cope by being as prepared as possible for changes. If you have any real estate on the market, it may reflect this situation similarly. Good aspects with Jupiter for both these planets mean it will work out for the better. The lunar vibes on the 1st, 26th, 27th and 28th favor your sign.
Aquarius — January 21-February 19: Saturn, your ruling planet, stations this month to begin his 4½ month retrograde period, stalling many activities in your solar 3rd house of short trips, siblings, neighbors and desires. It could also make you a bit reclusive during this time as it rules the 12th house, too, so don’t fight it. Don’t become a complete hermit but include some socializing with others in the mix. You can protect still nurture your internal space that needs that solitude to ground out. The 2nd, 3rd are stellar days and the full Moon happens in your sign on the 29th and it stays in your sign through the 30th so, use those positive vibes to be out in the world.
Pisces — February 20-March 20: You get some relief this month as the nodes change signs and the north node moves out of Pisces and into Aquarius. You will notice you start to feel calmer and less restless very soon. Mars and Uranus are in your solar 4th house, so you may have some unusual disruption in your home, with family members or any real estate you own. Uranus will be there for another 6 years, so you may be feeling you need to move to a different location as this transit may trigger you to consider it in the near future. Jupiter enters your solar 6th house of health, so you will be motivated to improve your health and daily habits, or create a new routine with your work. Jupiter will be in that house for the next year so you can take a bit of time to figure out what you need to do. The 4th, 5th and 31st are your days of good fortune this month.
