March 2014 Tarot Scopes featuring the Dreaming Way Tarot

march tarotscopes -- judgment

ARIES: Judgment

This month you’ll be thinking about how the actions and decisions you’ve made have led you to where you are today.

The Judgment card can refer to a moment of “reckoning” where all the pieces of the puzzle start to come together and you see how you’ve participated — for better or worse — in the story of your life.

With this comes two very important considerations: one — that you can take charge and make changes in your life (as in rewriting your own script) and two — that you can view other people’s choices (which have led them to their own life circumstances) with a little less judgment and a lot more compassion and understanding.

The Judgment card refers to an epiphany or awakening, during which time you realize the consequences of your actions and are thus more inclined to proceed conscientiously.

As such it gives you a chance to start anew, to be “reborn” and make changes that are in line with your understanding of karmic rewards and repercussions. It gives you a chance to redeem and unburden yourself, as you prepare to let go of the past and move toward your true life’s purpose.

DreamingWay-3-of-swordsTAURUS: Two of Swords

You may feel like you’re stuck between a rock and a hard place this month as you struggle with a decision that is not going to be easy to make.

Perhaps this is why you’ve held off in the first place, as the the Two of Swords refers to not just feeling torn between two options but wanting to avoid making a choice between them as well.

The figure in this card is blind-folded and holding up two sharp swords. She may be leaning towards one but she’s not taking any steps to act on it.

In this respect the Two of Swords can refer to inaction and immobility. Sometimes this is due to fear: “What if I make the wrong decision?” But it’s just often related to a desire to not have to choose at all.

Alternately you may have come to an impasse with someone and are actualizing this energy through passive resistance. This isn’t a better solution and it won’t solve anything: you’re going to have to take a stand whether you like it or not.

The inertia that comes from choosing not to choose can prevent you from moving forward. It’s going to be critical to weigh your options, make your decision and then stand by it in the end.

GEMINI: the Fooldreaming-way-fool

You may feel like throwing caution to the wind this month and diving into the great unknown.

That is the message behind the Fool Card, which speaks of pushing aside all your fears, strategies and analyses and just deciding to “go for it” — whatever that great unknown IT may be.

In this version of the card the Fool is a bit more hesitant and contemplative than we usually see. Even her little dog stands slightly at guard. But they stand at the edge of a cliff, the sun shining brightly in the sky, and look out at the world of possibilities before them.

Notice that the Fool — as in other versions of this card — has nothing on her person but a small knapsack. It’s said that the knapsack contains only a wand, a sword, a pentacle and a cup (representing the four elements and their reciprocal resources) — in other words all she really needs (all any of us really need) to survive in this world.

This would be a great time to take off on that adventure or go all in on some other dream that you’ve hesitated about in the past. There’s no time like the present when it come to this card.

dreaming-way-ace-of-swordsCANCER: Ace of Swords

This month you’ll be cutting through some of the BS and getting to the heart of the matter with friends and loved ones.

You may have found yourself tip-toeing around the truth rather than coming out and saying what’s been really on your mind, in an effort to preserve someone’s feelings. But in doing so you discover that things that have needed to be said never quite get said and your message is never heard.

One of Cancer’s biggest dilemmas is feeling misunderstood. Yet it’s hard for you to come right out and say what’s on your mind because you’re constantly aware of all the subtle nuances that accompany communications.

You don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings and you don’t want to risk being rejected — so you find yourself biting your tongue and being resentful for it later.

For this reason you’ll have to bite the bullet and make sure you’re able to get to the heart of whatever has been troubling you.

In the end your fears about standing up for yourself are only holding you back and clearing the air will do both you and whomever you need to communicate your feelings to a world of good.

dreaming-way-2-of-cupsLEO: Two of Cups

This month should find you ready to fall in love again. Whether that’s with someone new, or whether it means reigniting a relationship that has begun to falter, remains to be seen.

The Two of Cups refers to taking that initial spark of feeling, passion and romance seen in the Ace of Cups and sharing it with (or projecting it onto) another.

In this version of the card, the two figures gaze longingly at one another and raise their glasses in celebration. All of their hopes and dreams for the union that is developing float out of the cups and overlap with one another.

This is the essence of the Two of Cups. It’s not just relating to another person romantically, but also sharing, merging and uniting in love.

Sometimes the Two of Cups speaks of finding your “soul-mate” or your other half. It brings with it the ability to see yourself through someone else’s eyes (and heart). In this respect it’s about falling in love with yourself — at your very best.

If you’re already involved in an established relationship, this card can relate to reinvigorating the love you felt upon first meeting. And if you’re not involved and just looking, it may very well be the time you find exactly what you’re looking for.

dreaming-way-tarot-nine-of-wandsVIRGO: Nine of Wands

You may feel like you’re at the end of your rope this month with so many concerns looming overhead and so little gumption left with which to tackle them.

The Nine of Wands refers to feeling beaten down by anxieties that have taken on a life of their own. You may have run into a detour just at the end of a goal, and have let it turn into an insurmountable roadblock.

The figure in this card is seated on a stump, surrounded by eight wands. The 9th wand is her walking stick that she uses to lean against. It’s almost as if it’s propping her up — so little energy does she have left to stand. She looks tired and dejected, but if you look at the wands around her, they’re not big enough to really hold her back.

This is the message with the Nine of Wands. Your fears and your worries aren’t nearly as big as they seem. You may need that final push you get you over the hump, but there’s a clear path on the other side.

If you’re like most Virgos, you work too hard, demand too much of yourself and take on  projects that others could easily assist you with.

You may need to take a breather, like the figure in this card. But you’re almost at the finish line and are closer to your goals than you realize, so dust yourself off, get back to work, and push yourself past this final test.

dreaming-way-high-priestess LIBRA: High Priestess

This month is all about getting in touch with your intuition and tapping into your inner resources.

The High Priestess card, as counterpart to the Magician, speaks of the feminine principles of knowledge, understanding and wisdom. It’s a card of meditation and reflection, of “knowing” based not on evidence or research but on ancestral or primal instincts.

Because this archetype relates to the unconscious mind (and particularly the collective unconscious) don’t be surprised if your psychic faculties are enhanced during this time. You may experience vivid dreams and premonitions that come to you unexpectedly.

You may need to find time for quiet reflection and introspection. Getting away and communing with nature or going on a spiritual retreat are both good options. But just taking time to quiet your mind can also help you to satisfy these leanings.

Pay attention to messages you receive and synchronicities you notice during this time. You can unlock mysteries that you struggle with analytically just by learning to trust your intuition.

If you’re open to the messages the Universe is sending you, you will find that the answers to your most pressing concerns are right there at your psychic fingertips.

dreaming-way-devilSCORPIO: The Devil

The Devil card encourages you to move past some of the restrictions you’ve imposed on yourself, particularly with respect to the more unsavory emotions — jealousy, anger, paranoia, fear, etc.

If you look at the figures in this card, the Devil herself is bound up in some sort of straight-jacket configuration. She has two smaller beings chained to her, but the chains are loose and her manner of holding them is almost apathetic. She is either indifferent to their plight or is so sure of her hold over them that she doesn’t think there is anything to worry about.

But these two figures could easily unchain themselves and slip away. So what is preventing them from doing that? Back to the self-imposed restrictions — namely negative thoughts and fears.

Your challenge this month is therefore to figure out what’s been holding you back — what chains you’ve bound yourself up in — and release yourself from them. If you have a bigger monkey on your back — addition or some other unhealthy form of debauchery for example — now is also the time to come clean with yourself about it and get clean.

Getting past whatever has been holding you back may take a lot of determination and courage, but it will be tremendously liberating in the end.

dreaming-way-hanged-manSAGITTARIUS: the Hanged Man

This month you may have to put the breaks on and let something you’ve been pushing for take time to develop.

The Hanged Man refers to a need to step back and suspend all action, usually with respect to an important action or decision.

You may be chomping at the bit to make changes in your life — a job change or a move or a relationship change, for example. But the Universe puts obstacles in your path for reasons that won’t reveal themselves until later.

It may be just a matter of timing. And it may be that the thing you want the most — right now — won’t even be a possibility for you until months down the road.

The Hanged Man card is also about surrender. Letting go and letting God. Holding back from trying to change the natural course of things because your own input could (and would) interfere with their development.

We see the woman in the card is not only hanging upside down but her arms are tied behind her and her feet are securely tied to the branches of a tree. She couldn’t move — even if she wanted to — lest she’d get in her own way. The sacrifices you’re forced to make now will make perfect sense to you later. Step back and let things take their natural course for now.

dreaming-way-knight-of-pentaclesCAPRICORN: Knight of Pentacles

You may be putting more time and effort into building your “brand” this month.

The Knight of Pentacles speaks of working hard and making money, as you proceed toward ultimate success. You may not be where you want to be just yet, but you’ve got your eye on the future and are taking steps to make that happen.

The Knight of Pentacles doesn’t just sit back and wait for something to fall into his lap. He knows that it takes hard work and dedication to attain his goals.

He may be taking classes, working a second job, rewriting his resume or even interning somewhere to develop his skills.

If this is you, know that everything you put into your profession right now will ultimately pay off. You may not see immediate results but it’s all cumulative and will round out your experience to the extent that you will one day know it was worth it.

If this is someone in your life, know that he or she is not afraid of hard work. This person is dedicated, efficient and reliable — and has his (or her) eye on the prize.

The challenge is knowing that you’re not where you want to be just yet and that there’s still much work be done. But the knowledge that you’ve succeed in attaining your goals make it all worth it in the end.

dreaming-way-9-of-cups

AQUARIUS: Nine of Cups

The Nine of Cups is also known as the “Wish card.”  It refers to getting what you’ve wished for and what you’ve strived for through all of your hard work and dedication.

It’s also a gratitude card, and encourages you to be grateful for all you’ve attained and to count your blessings.

The woman in this card is a lot more somber than is usually depicted with the Nine of Cups. She sits alone on a beach in all of her finery, with Nine very different and distinctive cups around her. She looks lost in thought and somewhat sullen. Perhaps she’s attained all she set out to attain and now has no one to share it with.

Or maybe she’s gotten all she asked for and realizes it wasn’t what she wanted after all. This is one of the challenges with the Nine of Cups (and with all Nines). There may be a tendency to become complacent or discontent.

If you have worked hard for something and find yourself unhappy with the spoils of your efforts, you may need to take time to revisit what you really want.

Perhaps the enthusiasm you had in accomplishing your goals lost its luster once you attained them. If that’s the case with you it’s easily remedied. Get back on the horse and start looking for inspiration again — and don’t forget to thank those who help you along the way.

dreaming-way-queen-of-cupsPISCES: Queen of Cups

This month you may need to settle back into a role that you’ve undervalued in recent months. Perhaps you’ve been so involved in your career or your goals that you’ve neglected your most important role — that of Queen of your castle.

The Queen of Cups is fair, loving, nurturing and maternal. She may literally be a parent, or she may take on a motherly role among friends and co-workers. People look up to her and rely on her for guidance.

If this is you, you may need to remember how much people value you in this role. If you’re so caught up in business or social affairs that you don’t have time for one-on-one with those who matter most, it’s time to take a second look at what’s most important to you.

The Queen of Cups though may be someone in your life — a parent, an older sibling, a friend or a supervisor at work. If this is someone in your life, know that she’s got your best interests at heart. She may be the person you need to turn to when you’re feeling insecure or uncertain.

Either way — it’s all about giving and receiving comfort. Making others feel at home. Letting them know you are there for them. And being willing to take off your business attire and assume that role yourself.
