Free Daily Tarotscope — Nov 9, 2015 — Queen of Pentacles

Queen of Pentacles

Queen of Pentacles

Today is a day to indulge yourself and allow yourself to enjoy all of the fruits of your labors.

The Queen of Pentacles is all about establishing security — financial and otherwise. But she also knows how to appreciate the finer things in life and to relish what she’s worked for and savor every moment.

She’s not afraid to work for what she wants. But she wants to be able to appreciate it too. She wants to surround herself with opulence and splendor, knowing that she’s earned and deserves it.

This Queen of Pentacles — from the beautiful Samurai Tarot — is clothed in the finest silks and lavish attire. She strikes an elegant and radiant pose. She is colorful, dramatic and mysterious. But she’s not someone to be trifled with: she’s also practical, efficient and wise.

As with all the Court Cards in the tarot, this may be you and it may represent someone in your life. It can also indicate a state of mind that is necessary for you to adopt.

Whatever (or whomever) she represents, know that it’s time to get serious about manifesting the life that you want, and enjoying yourself in the process.

Today you want to be thinking about your long-term goals and what you might need to do to bring them to fruition. It may require you to make some short-term sacrifices. But what you gain in return — through hard work, discipline and patience — will make it all worthwhile in the end.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Nov 4, 2015 — Knight of Swords

Knight of Swords

Today is a day for being strategic and thinking about the choices you have to make as you plan your next move.

You may be wavering over important decisions. You may be weighing your options or figuring out what your best course of action may be.

The Knight of Swords is traditionally associated quick thinking and quick action. But this is a kinder, gentler version of the card. This version, from this Crystal Tarot — appears to be lost in thought.

He’s in no hurry to get moving, even though his horse is raring to go. He may be daydreaming about the journey ahead, or he may be contemplating all of the different routes that can lead him to his destination.

As with all court cards this can refer to someone in your life, a frame of mind you need to adopt, or it can refer to you personally. If it’s someone in your life, you will know him by his gentle demeanor and sense of fair play. These are qualities that you’d do well to incorporate in your decision-making today.

The Knight of Swords is known for being frank, blunt and outspoken. And even in this gentler version you can count on him to be honest.

If it takes you a little while to get your bearings today and to make an informed decision, know that there’s a reason for holding back. You want to be decisive, fair and just. So make sure you have all the facts before you jump to any conclusions.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Nov 2, 2015 — Page of Batons

Page of Batons

Page of Batons

You shouldn’t have any trouble getting into your zone today and adopting a more contemplative or meditative state.

As Mercury moves into Scorpio, you may be turning away from all the noise and distractions in your life and seeking a place of quiet and solitude to explore the deeper regions of your psyche.

You may be thinking of ways to bring depth and clarity back into your life, or like the woman in this card, a way to breathe life into your own creative process.

This is the Ceccoli Tarot’s version of the Page of Batons (or Wands). She’s expressive and original, even in her introspective state. She’s taken a novel approach to self-expression, rising up through the mist that surrounds her to blossom where she stands.

While there’s generally a very exuberant quality to the Page of Batons, this version is more intent on maintaining her composure than on any outward displays of emotion. Still there’s a certain drama in the way she presents herself, with the flowers blooming and the bees buzzing all around.

If this is someone in your life, know that she’s here to teach you a thing or two about creative self-expression.

But she may also represent and event in your life or a set of qualities that you need to embrace — in this case the combination of introspection, self-reflection and understated grace. While the Mercury in Scorpio transit can have you pondering the deeper mysteries of life, the Page of Batons takes it a step further and brings them to life.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Oct 30, 2015 — Temperance

Temperance

Temperance

Today’s card — Temperance from the Medieval Enchantment Tarot –– indicates a need to go with the flow and to find ways to bring the conflicting desires of your being back toward the center.

Today’s Sun trine Neptune should make that a little easier. The Sun / Neptune aspect is all about aligning yourself with higher spiritual realms.

The Temperance card speaks of searching within yourself for that wellspring of inner grace and finding a way to bring the good and bad, light and dark, happy and sad back in to balance.

This card is called “Art” in some decks. It speaks of the unique creative forces that each of us possess. It speaks of seeking out symmetry and harmony. And it speaks of integrating the opposing areas of your life into one big calm, peaceful and harmonious medium.

In what areas of your life are you too inflexible, too rigid and too unwilling to hear another’s point of view? Your challenge will be to overcome those impediments and to integrate the opposing forces in your life.

The Temperance card refers to bringing the opposing facets of your personality (or your relationships, or your desires) into alignment by finding the perfect middle ground. It represents peace and harmony, synthesis and equilibrium, moderation and restraint.

As you can see from the imagery in this card, nothing needs be sacrificed in attaining that balance. Just remember to rise above whatever situations in your life that are pulling you down, without rising so high that you neglect them or fail to take advantage of opportunities to learn from or grow from them.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Oct 27, 2015 — The Stars

the Stars

The Stars

Today’s Full Moon at 3° Taurus is in the sign — and at the exact degree — of its exaltation. The Full Moon lights up the night sky so brightly that it makes it difficult sometimes to see the Stars. But that doesn’t mean they’re not there.

Look at the figure in this card — from the stunning Samurai Tarot. He kneels down in a shallow tide pool and gazes up at the night sky, only to be rewarded by its panoramic splendor.

This card is about getting perspective. Putting your faith in the Universe. Seeing where you fit in in the Cosmos. Getting in touch with your own capacity for awe and reverence. And feeling inspired by nature and the beauty that surrounds you.

Notice how ocean spray seems to come to life in this image, brought on by the glow of the Full Moon and stars. Animal and human figures take shape, only to shift and change before your eyes. (For me what started out as a ceremonial dragon turned into Samurai warrior and oriental lion).

This tells you that things aren’t always as they appear and that you do have some say in the reality you create.

This card is all about synchronicity and serendipity. It’s a card of Hope and Faith in the Universe. It tells you that in spite of all your trials and tribulations, everything is as it should be, and in the end everything is going to be alright.

It invites you to open your eyes and see the vastness of the world around you, the billions of stars in the night sky and the billions of people that make up humanity.

It comes as a reminder that even in in the midst of all the chaos that surrounds you, there is still room for growth. There’s still love, peace, beauty, harmony and compassion. There’s still the promise of forgiveness, redemption and salvation.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Oct 24, 2015 — Two of Rods

Two of Rods

Two of Rods

You may feel like you’re at a cross-roads today — fretting over decisions that are weighing heavily on your mind, and afraid of making the wrong move.

This version of the Two of Rods — from the Anna K Tarot — illustrates this dilemma beautifully. There are several different paths to take but no clear direction. And no idea what is on the other side.

In this respect the Two of Rods is as much about trust as it is about action. Trusting that whatever path you take will lead you to where you need to be.

Mars and Uranus are in inconjunct today. This is a rather tense aspect that can see you at odds between what you are motivated to do (Mars) and whatever curve-balls the Universe wants to throw your way (Uranus).

It may be frustrating, but look at the figure in this card. He’s not getting anywhere by plopping himself down on the side of the road and worrying about taking the wrong path. He may be avoiding pitfalls by sitting there doing nothing, but he’s also missing out on potential opportunities.

The Two of Rods says that while you may not have all the information you need to make an informed decision, you’re still better off doing something rather than allowing yourself to become paralyzed by fear. This card encourages you to pick yourself up and dust yourself off and be willing to take a stand.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Oct 16, 2015 — Eight of Cups

Eight of Cups

Eight of Cups

Today you may be asking yourself just what is it that you are trying to hold on to? This is the Ceccoli Tarot’s version of the Eight of Cups, a card typically associated with finding yourself caught within the confines of your own self-created prison.

The image on this card shows that there are things, whether outer or inner, that you are holding on to or bottling up inside. But notice there are only seven birds — six inside one on the outside: where is the final bird? It’s you of course if you’re ready to free yourself from your cage.

Something like this usually comes out in the end and you may need to do some serious thinking to work out what you are going to do next.

Be careful that you do not find yourself holding so much in that it explodes like fireworks causing an argument or friction with someone close to you. With Mars trining Pluto today the urge to purify and release whatever pent up energy you’re holding onto is strong.

If you have been doing too much or burning the midnight oil a little then you need to slow down.

There is light at the end of the tunnel as can be seen from the bird outside the cage yet you need to let go of something first to be able to feel free as this will lead you onto your next step down a path that is not as constricting as the one you are now on.

If you find yourself holding onto old grudges, thinking to settle or even a score then perhaps it is time to let go as the only person this will hurt and hinder is yourself. Remember the eighth and final bird is you, so be willing to open the door on your cage and set yourself free.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Oct 9, 2015 — Ace of Swords

Ace of Swords

Ace of Swords

Mercury goes direct at 0° Libra today, bringing with it the need to move forward again in terms of problem-solving and communication skills. After three weeks in retrograde motion, we can expect to see these areas to move ahead again, and to clear up some earlier communications missteps and misunderstandings.

Mercury in Libra calls for more discretion, diplomacy and harmony, and encourages us to be more objective in our thinking. Much like the Ace of Swords — this version from the Crystal Tarot — it invites us to cut through the confusion and uncertainty, and adopt a clearer perspective.

You can see the Libra need for balance in the mirror images of the crescent moons that frame this card, They represent the Crescent and Balsamic Moons, which fall on either side are the new Moon. The current Moon is in fact Balsamic, as it moves toward the Libra New Moon. These crescent Moon symbols are repeated on the Sword’s hilt.

Today’s Moon  also conjuncts Mars, an aspect that is beautifully referenced here with the Sword plunging into the depth’s of the ocean (emotions) and piercing the crab on its floor. The Crab is associated astrologically with the sign Cancer, which is the ruler of the Moon.

It reminds us of the need to get a handle on our emotions as we strive for more clarity and perspective.

It’s up to you to decide how you want to wield your sword. Are you ready to stand up for what you believe in, even if it goes against status quo expectations?  Are you ready to make a decision about something you were unsure about in the past? Are you ready to take back your power?

You want to be conscious about what you “put out there” today — through your words and through your actions. The Ace of Swords encourages you to speak truthfully, but to do so from the heart. Be considerate of the feelings of others: remember that words can be both helpful and hurtful, so use yours wisely.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Oct 5, 2015 — Nine of Pentacles

Nine of Pentacles

Nine of Pentacles

Today’s Sun / Jupiter inconjunct may have you thinking about all of the opportunities in your life while still trying to find a way to keep your feet planted firmly on the ground.

The Nine of Pentacles — this version from the beautiful Yoga Tarot — refers to a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction, not just for all you’ve achieved but also for all that is still out there and yours for the taking.

This is a good time to count your blessings and to express gratitude for all of the wonderful things you’ve accomplished in your life. speaks of shifting your attitude to one of gratitude. It speaks of  seeing your ship coming in and knowing that you’ve called it to you — via the laws of abundance and attraction.

The Nine of Pentacles represents that intricate and fulfilling balance between expressing gratitude and achieving prosperity. It refers to developing a prosperity consciousness, knowing that the Universe offers up unlimited abundance to those who do.

It also refers to that sense of satisfaction that comes from knowing that you are where you are not because you’ve been lucky or have been the benefactor of someone else’s generosity. It’s been your own hard work and determination (seen in the Eight of Pentacles) that’s led you to where you are today.

We all know (in theory) that all the money in the world won’t buy us happiness if it’s acquired without passion. Yet we keep on wanting more of it, and find ourselves struggling with the idea of figuring out how much is “enough.”

The Nine of Pentacles challenges us to not only answer that question but to examine our personal values as well. Money is just one form “values” and is usually the one we pay the most attention to. We need to be mindful of the temptation to overlook one set of values for another, especially when it involves compromising our principles.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Sept 30, 2015 — King of Swords

King of Swords

King of Swords

As the Sun and Mercury come together today in Libra, you may find yourself needing to bring forth your problem solving skills.

Like the King of Swords in this card — from the Anna K. Tarot — you may need to stay one step ahead of the game as you plan your next move.

The King of Swords is intelligent, strategic and analytical. He’s inherently impartial. He doesn’t mince words, and he doesn’t listen to excuses. He makes his decisions based on logic and reason rather than compassion and empathy.

He’s a no-nonsense individual who is expected to mete out justice with a fair and authoritative hand. He may be a parent, a supervisor, a judge, or even a friend that steps in to give you a reality check when you need one most.

As with all court cards this can also refer to you — or to a state of mind that you need to develop in order to preserve a sense of order in your life. You may have felt taken advantage of by someone who’s overstepped their bounds and this card encourages you to resolve that problem by taking a more authoritative stance.

The King of Swords encourages you to be decisive and to start thinking ahead. It asks you to clear away the debris and work on attaining better focus. And it challenges you to step away from emotional attachments and make your decisions based on what is right, fair, and most importantly best for you in the long run.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Sept 9, 2015 — Seven of Swords

Seven of Swords

Seven of Swords

As Mercury squares Pluto today, you may need to think about the power of your own thoughts and words. Both the ability they have to do harm and the ability they have to do good.

Swords stand for our intellect and mental processes. If you have some form of work to do that you need to really put your thinking cap on to get done then this is the month to do it.

Do not waste your time pondering over what might have been you have a task to complete and you need to get on with it. A clear mind and a clear conscious is needed.

The central figure in this card — from Stephanie Pui-Min Law’s gorgeous Shadowscapes Tarot — is a masked man dressed as a blackbird, surrounded by his blackbird friends. He’s hidden himself at the base of a boulder, having stolen a sword from the Guardian Swan.

The question today is, are you the Swan or are you the masked man?  Do you need to be on guard against trickery and deception, or are you the one who’s tempted to use your ingenuity for questionable gains? Mercury square Pluto can bring trust issues to the forefront and can also fuel your own treacherous impulses, which can see you trying to outsmart even the most honorable foe.

The ravens are there delivering messages and perhaps warning you to be on your toes. But the message here is one of being wise about what you think and wise about what you say, because you never know when a misplaced word or misconstrued sentence can come back to haunt you later.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Sept 5, 2015 — Seven of Wands

Seven of Wands

Seven of Wands

You may feel as though you have your back against the wall today as you struggle to maintain your principles.

This could relate to something you strongly believe in, such as a political or religious stance. If so, you may feel attacked by others and forced to defend your views.

It can also be an altercation that’s been in the making for some time; the culmination of “bad blood” that’s been bubbling to the surface and finally comes to a head.

Either way you are going to feel the need to stand up for yourself, even if it means angering someone else in the process.

You may feel attacked or ganged up on and will have to reconcile a “me against the world” attitude before it turns into a chip on your shoulder.

The Seven of Wands — this version from the gorgeous Golden Tarot of Klimt — also refers to a need to be more alert, guarded and cautious, rather than accepting things at face value.

This is not the time to rest on your laurels. You’ll want to be braced for attack as your views are more than likely going to rub some people the wrong way.

This doesn’t mean you need to be aggressive or combative. It’s actually just the opposite. You need to adopt a defensive posture in order to deflect the daggers that will more than likely be flung your way.
