Mars is now in direct motion and picking up speed throughout the month, as it covers the degrees it retrograded over through May 2nd. I feel the need to issue a few heads-up warnings on some planetary pressures coming up this month, as there are quite a few.

To quote William Shakespeare, “beware the Ides of March” which comes from his play, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. In the play, a soothsayer warns Julius Caesar that he should be on his guard on March 15, the Ides of March.

We have two eclipses this month and the first one occurs on March 14th, pretty close to the “Ides”. So, here’s the scoop I will say about what’s coming up. This month will have some twists and turns involved like you’ve never experienced before.

Most of the planets are in the same 1/3rd of the sky, so that is part of the intensity, a hyper focus of planetary energies in those signs between Aquarius and Cancer.

The first eclipse is a full Moon lunar eclipse happening on either late March 13th or after midnight on March 14th, depending on your time zone. The Moon will be at 23 degrees 57’ of Virgo, a practical earth sign related to health, cleanliness, duty and fact-finding and perfection. The Sun will be opposite the Moon at 23 degrees 57’ of Pisces, which is about endings, the subconscious mind, compassion, intuition, and sacrifice to name a few areas associated with that sign.

We begin the month with an evening sight that is lovely to behold; a waxing crescent Moon and Venus conjunction at 28 degrees of Pisces, the sign of Venus’ exaltation.

They are visible after sunset in the western sky, weather permitting. Neptune and the north node are also present at this 28th degree of Pisces so there is a kind of mystical, feminine, creative and otherworldly quality to this blend of energies. It is a great time for going within to reflect on your hopes, dreams and wishes and consider the ways you want to manifest them.

The planets will continue to have a strong Piscean influence through the end of the month as Mercury and the Sun move into that sign after the 15th and 18th, respectively. Pisces energy is mutable, intuitive, sacrificing, sympathetic, mystical, artistic and sensitive so you may find yourself emotionally moved by other’s circumstances and plight, expect some sadness or tears to flow if you get triggered by someone’s story. Be generous and kind to others as you never know what someone is actually going through.

Venus moves into the sign of Aries on the 4th while Jupiter is also stationary direct at 11 degrees of Gemini on that day. Aries and Gemini energies are compatible so this shift should open up some action energy for you to move in the direction you want to go. Happy New Year to all of you lovely beings!

The year begins with a rather intense aspect of the Moon conjunct Pluto at 1° Aquarius 05’  with an opposition from Mars retrograde at 1° Leo 40’.

The signature of a Mars Pluto opposition is one of struggle, frustration, control, anger or sudden outbreaks of violence, fights or explosions, etc., you get the picture. The aspect is still building and will be exact on January 3rd.

This is the 2nd time for this aspect in the last two months, with the final one occurring at the end of April, 2025. So, take care if you are around any situation that looks dangerous or volatile in the next few days.

Mercury is currently at 21 degrees of Sagittarius and moves into Capricorn on January 9th for most of the month. Mercury then enters Aquarius on January 29th and will be conjunct Pluto for a few days at the end of the month. This can be a time of interesting but shocking revelations and world turmoil at large.

Venus moves from 27° Aquarius and enters Pisces, the sign of her exaltation on January 4th and be in that sign for the entire month. She will be conjunct Saturn on January 18th which will damper the elegance of Venus in Pisces as Saturn tends to contract energies rather than expand them. Use the Venus energy to create something practical or restorative in your life rather that indulge in too much luxury.

We begin the month with a new Moon on the 1st in Sagittarius at 9 degrees, 33 minutes. With the dark Moon it is a good time to meditate, be quiet, write out your goals and desires as a request to the universe and to be in the present.

We have several planetary direction changes this month, which will make it interesting to say the least. Mercury is still in its retrograde motion period until the 15th when it stations at 6 degrees of Sagittarius. Since Sagittarius is a sign associated with optimism, expansion and truth, one can only hope this manifests with some good news during the month.

Venus transits forward from 22 degrees of Capricorn to enter Aquarius on the 8th and reach 26 degrees in that sign by the end of the month.

This shifts the general aesthetic from earth to air so your tastes may change as you appreciate different approaches to beauty and artistic expression. From the 6th through the 12th, Venus will be conjunct Pluto’s position in early Aquarius which can make for what can feel like fated connections or contacts. It is also considered to be a very sexualized energy so there’s that to enjoy if that is present in your life.

Mars makes a big move on the 6th as he enters his retrograde phase at 6 degrees of Leo, moving back to 17 degrees of Cancer by February 24, 2025 before going into direct motion. This can be a period of extremes as Leo is a fiery fixed sign, which likes to rule the roost and can get pushy doing so. Guard your energy against extremes and avoid argumentative people. Use the energy to fortify yourself with a good exercise and dietary regime. We shall see how it plays out.

We begin November with a new Moon in Scorpio, a feminine, fixed water sign. It is happening in a part of the sky that is associated with the fixed star, Arcturus, Saraswati, the goddess of beautiful words, wisdom and knowledge along with Vayu, the god of the wind.

This is about using your wisdom, wit, charm and intuitive abilities to make your way through the world. There is quite a bit of sparkle and charm to this part of the sky so tap into that energy if you are feeling down or depressed right now.

The Sun and Moon are in a trine relationship with Saturn, the rule master, who is super powerful right now as he is about to go into direct motion on November 15 at 12 degrees of Pisces, a fellow water sign. This is a positive aspect for setting intentions for things to work out for the best possible outcome.

Mercury is in the last few degrees of Scorpio right now and making a trine to Mars at 29° Cancer. That makes for an easier time of communication over the first week of November as they continue that relationship as they both enter the fire signs of Sagittarius and Leo, respectively. However, Mercury gets weaker in Sag and Mars gets stronger in Leo as he likes fire signs very much. But still, they get along and you can make your points effectively. On a note of caution, the little dude, Mercury, is making an opposition aspect to Uranus right now, so some unexpected news is likely to be revealed through the weekend. Stay tuned.

The month of October begins with an annual Solar Eclipse on October 2nd at 10 degrees 4’ of Libra, the cardinal, masculine, air sign. So, yes, the month’s energy will be colored by this eclipse and may feel somewhat strange or unsettled. The conjunction of the Sun and Moon, when close to either the vernal or the autumnal equinox, always produces a solar eclipse and this is the last one for the year 2024.

Mercury is within 1.5 degrees of this eclipse and just ahead of the Sun and Moon conjunction so communication is important at this time. It is wise to pay attention to what information comes into your sphere of influence, but do double check it for accuracy as Mercury is still considered within the combustion range with the Sun, which can make the information unreliable or incomplete, even though the little dude is quickly moving out of that orb of influence.

Libra is always about balance, harmony and relationships so pay attention to what is going on in your own partnership or marriage as the balance of power may be shifting. Mercury moves from 8 degrees Libra to 26 degrees Scorpio by October 31st. Therefore, your thoughts may become more intense after October 14th when Mercury enters Scorpio, a sign known for its intensity and drama.

This month begins with a new Moon on September 2 at 11° Virgo 04′ and Uranus going stationery retrograde at 27° Taurus 15′. Both are in earth signs so there’s some natural between them but as Uranus rules unexpected events, rebellions, social consciousness, as well as earth changes and out of the blue big events, any of which can be more than a bit unsettling.

Uranus will back up over Algol — considered a very negative star in the Perseues constellation — for the 2nd time next month, and will cross it for the third and final time in May of 2025. So we still have some tumultuous times ahead, as the upheaval lasts through that time period. It will affect the fixed signs between 20 and 29 degrees the most, so if you have a planet, the ascendant or the angular house cusp within those degrees, look out, you might have some big surprises in store.

There’s a partial solar eclipse on the full Moon of September 17th, at 25° Pisces 41′ with the Moon conjunct Neptune. This has a spacey kind of energy with the Neptune vibe but the Moon is also hemmed in between the North Node and Saturn, two malefics, creating a bottle neck of energy that doesn’t express with ease, like between a rock and a hard place. With Neptune in the mix there could very well be some kind of deception going on. Just keep breathing as this will pass.

On a lighter note, Venus is in Libra, a sign she rules and is now appearing as the brilliant and beautiful evening star, visible right after sunset in the western sky. She will be moving towards an air trine with Jupiter in Gemini between September 11 through the 21st. It’s a great time for social events but be careful about overindulging in everything pleasurable! But how bad can that be?
