Free Daily Tarotscope — July 22, 2014 — Strength

Strength

Strength

Leo is beautifully represented by the card of Strength. It is ruled by the Sun which can be seen in the hues of the sky and it is also personified by the image of a lion. In this image the lion looks restful and playful as it nuzzles against the lamb and all is peaceful.

Expect today to be like this and plan accordingly. You may wish to make some changes to your life and if so you can be sure that others will fall into step beside you (or behind you… Leo is a ruler) and your plans will be heard with open ears and willing hearts (Leo also rules the heart).

Indeed the only thing you may wish to keep an eye out for today are the following astrological transits: As the Sun enters Leo today and Mercury opposes Pluto you may be needing all the strength you can muster especially when it comes to communications out of the blue that you need to have an answer for NOW and that answer could sway an important matter one way or the other.

So be on your toes and have your wits about you because even as the lion and lamb in this image are all cozied up and getting along fine something could come along unexpectedly and throw that beautiful relationship out the window and with Pluto involved it will not be any small thing.

In the meantime you might wish to use the qualities depicted in this image of the lion and the lamb and bring together your hidden and not so hidden strengths in a way that gets you what you want without the need to push forward aggressively… and that would be a great way to deal with anything the Mercury opposition Pluto transit threw at your today.

Free Daily Tarotscope — July 21, 2014 — Six of Swords

Six of Swords

Six of Swords

You may be thinking of journeys today and not necessarily the type of journey that involves travelling. The image on this card suggests a journey within your own mind where you delve deeply into what is working for you and what is not.

The birds within the boat interlacing with the swords suggest that your thoughts may take you on a journey that you wish to share with others and it will carry far and wide.

Although the water and landscape within this image looks desolate and perhaps a bit forlorn this is not necessarily the case. Sure, there are hiccups to overcome in what you may find when you start delving deeper into your mind and find what you may not wish to find but at the same time there are a few gems in there also that may take you further than you thought.

Look at how the birds have taken to the air. The four hills in the background which suggests life’s up’s and down’s and the latticework within the boat that the birds are resting on as if to say… the path behind you is the bedrock for the path in front of you.

What I was particularly drawn to in this card was the water. It reflects the sky and whilst the sky is overcast you have to wonder what the surface of the water would reflect if it were a bright sunny day.

Free Daily Tarotscope — July 20, 2014 — The Emperor

the Emperor

The Emperor

With Saturn turning direct today it is a good time to take stock of where you are and where want to be and what steps you need to get there. The image on this card shows power. Power within yourself and power that is reflected to others.

Although Saturn can be a hard task master he is also practical, grounded and fair and the lessons that you learn and in turn teach to others will take you far. The ankh in the right hand shows that spirituality is being mixed with authority and answers will come. The ram on the right shoulder gives a hint to something new and fresh coming into your life bringing with it all the skills and talents you will need to make it your own.

If you are dealing with any figures of authority today it is best to go in well prepared and not to leave anything left undone or to chance. The figure in this card demands respect. S/he knows what s/he wants and how to get it and if this figure is you then, like the shadows in the background of the image, you will leave everyone behind as you stride forward and take what is rightfully yours although the colour green suggests you do so with grace and ease and whilst no one opposes you it may be because they know you are right and that your actions will also benefit them further down the line.

The throne that you sit upon implies that you will see through to the end that which you wish to accomplish in perhaps an unusual way. Whilst the Emperor is a pretty straightforward card this card implies there is something of the extraordinary about you and perhaps this is the secret to your success.

Free Daily Tarotscope — July 19, 2014 — Temperance

Temperance

Temperance

It’s all about balance today and you may find yourself needing to add an extra dimension to your level of awareness as to how calm you feel as the Sun squares Mars which does not usually make for a day of peace and tranquillity.

On the plus side though Mercury trines Neptune which gives you an added boost to being able to get in touch with your inner self and allow this to wash through you much like the image of the 2 cups in the hands of the figure in this card.

You cannot help being struck with the nature of the balance in this version of Temperance. Everything in the card is showing different states.

From the yin yang symbol in the two toned sky, the figure with one foot in the water and one out, the flow of water from one cup to the other and even the one arm raised to the sky whilst the other is pointing to the earth.

It is a card about balance and letting things flow. You are aware of the polarities around you and that life is not always meant to be easy.

You take the good with the bad and you have a knack for turning more of the bad into good in a way that benefits you positively.

The planetary aspects of Sun square Mars perfectly depicts the tensions you may feel today alongside Mercury trine Neptune which perfectly shows just how illuminating your thoughts may become if you step outside of yourself today and contemplate life.

Free Daily Tarotscope — July 18, 2014 — Six of Cups

Six of Cups

Six of Cups

Venus enters Cancer today bringing along with it a change of direction from the recent weeks where it has been in Gemini alongside a rather difficult Mercury retrograde. Emotions switch from the intellectual slant of Gemini to the more accepting and comforting qualities of Cancer.

If you think back over the last few weeks and if you could do anything differently or take back any words you said in the heat of the moment… what would it be? You may be finding you have a tendency to re live and re play over events just now and come up with solutions to them especially if they are linked to your love life which Venus rules.

This card shows that you can tend your garden (your “thoughts”) and prune out those that are not serving you well whilst at the same time replacing them with thoughts that will add to your growth and the growth of other ideas you may be having.

There is a tendency to reminisce today and the danger that may come with this is that you reminisce over negative experiences and give power to them. If you catch yourself doing this… or starting to do so… then stop and replace these negative thoughts with positives which will serve you better and also help with possibly mending any bridges with others who may have been casualties of Mercury’s recently bedlam.

Free Daily Tarotscope — July 17, 2014 — Ten of Disks

Ten of Disks

Ten of Disks

Today you want to be counting your blessings and recognizing all of the hard work — including that of those who have helped you along the way — that has gotten you to where you are today.

The Ten of Disks refers to that level of accomplishment that has been built up over time. It’s a card of community, hospitality and stability that carries on from one generation to the next.

Many versions of this card depict — in addition to the ten prominent gold pentacles — a homestead, generations of a family (including the family pets) and a lust abundant surroundings. These are all important references to concept of security that is built up over time.

The Ten of Disks is called “Wealth” in some decks. But remember that wealth is relative, and no one gets there alone.

The Ten Disks in this card are placed in the ten Sephira that make up the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. The Symbol for each disk is associated with its corresponding planet: The Sun at the center (Tiphareth), the Moon at the Foundation (Yesod) and Earth representing the Kingdom (Malkuth). The planets themselves are placed in the columns on either side.

A rainbow of rays emanate from each disk: for example an astrological chart emanating from Malkuth and Kircher’s 72 names of God emanating from Kether.

Free Daily Tarotscope — July 16, 2014 — Ace of Wands

Ace of Wands

 Ace of Wands

Today — as Jupiter moves into Leo — for the first time in over 12 years — you want to be thinking about what you want to accomplish during this next chapter in your life.

The Ace of Wands is card of passion and raw unformed energy. It’s the spark of an idea that can be harnessed and then channeled into something tangible and real.

This version of the card pairs the William Blake painting “Ancient of Days,” which portrays God as an architect creating the world, with a quote often attributed to Goethe:  “Whatever you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.”

The Ace of Wands is a card of inspiration: it’s that fire that burns inside of each of us that even when it flickers or goes dim, it never completely dies out. It’s the spark of imagination, self-expression and passion that permits us to allow our “wildest dreams” to manifest — even if only in our dreams.

You can work with this energy yourself — depending on where this transit falls in your own natal chart. If you don’t know and would like to find out, feel free to post your birth date (as well as time if known and place of birth) in the comments section below, and we’ll be happy to tell you.

Free Daily Tarotscope — July 15, 2014 — Five of Pentacles

Five of Pentacles

Five of Pentacles

Be grateful for what beauty flowers… one day at a time.

If you feel you are at the bottom of a well and cannot look up or get out because you are stuck in a rut take heart that you are beautiful indeed.

Do not let circumstances get so on top of you that you forget your own inner beauty and strengths for it is these that shall pull you out of where you are now and see you soaring again.

The Five of Pentacles is about leaving something behind and it may be that you are removing yourself from a situation that no longer sustains or serves you well and need to start looking at your options in the sense that as one door closes another opens and that door may just lead to your “dreams.”

It may be a good idea to take a break, have a rest and clear your mind of all thoughts and I have just the thing to take your mind off problems you may be stuck on at the moment.

Take a look at the black void which is behind the rose filled with what looks like raindrops moving in front of it. I know rain falls down but take a good look at these white drops and see if they are falling up or down.

Does this image appear to be moving up or down to you? If it is moving down try to turn the vision to the image so that the rain drops are moving upwards.

Free Daily Tarotscope — July 14, 2014 — Five of Swords

Five of Swords

Five of Swords

Your dealings with others today could be tense. The Five of Swords can manifest as a clash of wills or a heated confrontation that seemingly comes from out  of nowhere.

This is one of the most challenging cards in the tarot. It’s called “Defeat” in this deck, referring to the need accept your limitations rather than exacerbating problems by fighting back.

As Fives are all tied to conflict and Swords to communications, it should come as no surprise that your battles won’t be physical ones; they’ll be verbal or written. A negative review at work is one example; a ruling in someone else’s favor is another.

You could be dealing with an unreasonable partner or co-worker — or as is often the case with the Five a Swords — embroiled in legal wranglings or contractual negotiations. Whatever it is, it’s unlikely to be pleasant.

In this version of the card we see that the swords that have been lunged at their target — a stone statue of a snarling beast — have broken on impact. They haven’t even made a dent. The I Ching hexagram (47: K’un) at the bottom of the card refers to exhaustion and oppression.

With Mars conjuncting the North Node today, there are also karmic implications to consider. The North Node refers to karma you’re sewing, while the South Node — which Mars is simultaneously opposing — refers to karma you’re reaping. So be mindful of this no matter which end of the sword you’re handed today.

Free Daily Tarotscope — July 13, 2014 — Ten of Cups

Ten of Cups

Ten of Cups

Following hot on the heels of yesterday’s super moon today we have Venus trining Mars… a planetary aspect wonderful for love and in this instance as the two planets are in Air signs… love is all about communication.

The Ten of Cups is all about happiness and as can be seen from the image on this card nothing is going to ruffle your feathers today.

You have your two feet planted firmly on the ground or as can be seen from this image you have your feet well and truly planted within the ground as if you are so in touch with yourself and what you want that nothing will shake you from your goals.

Ten cups lay in front of you as if they are floating on clouds which is another indication of today’s transits with Mars and Venus trining in air signs (clouds).

However, the other interesting astrological aspect that occurs today is Mercury re entering Cancer after a few weeks of retrograde movement and will soon come to pass over the degree of Cancer it first went retrograde at. Problems you may have experienced the last few weeks are coming to an end.

It’s time for you to slow down any thoughts which have been racing through your mind so quickly that you can’t catch hold of them.

Free Daily Tarotscope — July 12, 2014 — Seven of Swords

Seven of Swords

Today — with Mercury and Jupiter in semi-sextile — you want to work on trusting your instincts and staying tuned in to your environment.

The Mercury /Jupiter aspect can act as a trigger for internal conflict and mental discord. Anxiety. Uncertainty. It can cause you to be touchy or “jumpy,” guarded and apprehensive.

You could be dealing with trust issues, as in questioning other people’s motives or agendas. You could be questioning your own instincts, or fretting over something that just feels “off. It can be especially challenging for you to navigate through uncharted territories, much like the woman in this version of the card.

There are elements of fear, uncertainty and even paranoia associated with this card. This usually comes from overthinking and over-analyzing things to the point where your own intuition becomes hopelessly compromised.

While there’s no question that there are situations that call for you to be more guarded, you don’t want to make things worse by projecting your suspicions onto others.

The Seven of Swords calls for you to be mindful and alert, but you want to be just as aware of the potential for jumping to illogical conclusions.

This Mercury Jupiter transit is considered “minor” but it can wreak a lot of havoc. Especially if you’re easily distracted or given to emotional reactions.

Free Daily Tarotscope — July 11, 2014 — Two of Swords

Two of Swords

Two of Swords

You may feel like you’re stuck between a rock and a hard place today as you struggle with a decision that’s not going to be easy to make.

Perhaps this is why you’ve held off in the first place, as the the Two of Swords refers to not just feeling torn between two options but wanting to avoid making a choice between them as well.

The figure in this card is blind-folded and holding up two sharp swords. She may be leaning towards one but she’s not taking any steps to act on it.

In this respect the Two of Swords can refer to inaction and immobility. Sometimes this is due to fear: “What if I make the wrong decision?” But it’s just often related to a desire to not have to choose at all.

You may also find yourself at a Spiritual impasse, torn between two diametrically opposed urges: head vs. heart , love vs. lust, comfort vs. passion, etc.

The Two of Swords says you’re on the fence about an important decision, weighing both sides of an argument, or looking for ways to reconcile two different but equally valid points. You’ll need to rise above your personal biases so you can assess your dilemma from an objective standpoint.

Alternately you may have come to an impasse with someone and are actualizing this energy through passive resistance.
