Temperance

Temperance

Here’s something a little different today.  As you read the poem look at the image of the card and allow it to soak into you:

So you sit and you wonder and you worry and you wait
Until all of a sudden you are struck by fate
For all that you’ve been planning is now keeping you awake
As your thoughts roll beneath you like the currents in the waves
You build your foundations from where you feel enslaved

Now is the time to step out of your rut
The green in your aura is ready to erupt
This stands for growth both old and new
And I daresay those ideas of yours
are coming through by more than a few

The red in the ribbons as they float around
Is where your energy to proceed can be found
There’s balance and beauty in this card
And the yin yang symbol is like a genie in a jar

You need balance and calmness to reach your goals
And if all else fails look in the teacup as your fate unfolds
For if nothing else, this will give you peace of mind
And that which you are looking for I hope you find.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 25, 2014 — Six of Pentacles

Six of Pentacles

Six of Pentacles

Where have you come from and where are you going? The Six of Pentacles implies balancing the scales. Sometimes you gain and sometimes you lose.

In this rendition of the Six of Pentacles we see a young girl about to kiss a frog. Yes… I know what you’re thinking and you’re probably right. We all kiss a few frogs before finding our Prince or Princess Charming and it may be that we need to balance up the gains and losses of each particular “frog” we encounter to truly see what is underneath and what we are willing to take on or sacrifice in different situations.

Venus is conjunct the south node today implying that we are faced with challenges that we would rather shy away from.  As Venus is the planet of love the challenge will be emotional.

If you are looking at needing to make a decision you may find that you are focused on your past and what happened “then” versus what is really happening “now” and your thought patterns are confused by this making it doubly difficult for you to come up with an answer.

The girl in the image may also mean you are coming from your own childhood expectations of what love and relationships should be about and perhaps a bit more give and take is in order.  If you are in a relationship which is about all give and no take you need to have a good look at what you are willing to continue to do to keep the relationship afloat.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 24, 2014 — the Emperor

the Emperor

The Emperor

Today’s Jupiter / Saturn trine can make what’s seemed like hard work in the past now feel almost effortless. What better way to use this energy than to channel it into something productive and success-oriented?

The Emperor card is all about stepping up to the plate and assuming a position of authority. It’s about striving for personal and professional success. And it’s about wielding your personal power in a fair and just manner.

The Emperor in this version of the card appears stern. He’s draped in royal garb complete with gold crown and fur collar. And look at that sword! If he’s strong enough to lift that with those puny little arms he’s earned every bit of his title.

The Sword though doesn’t need to be wielded. That’s an important consideration when dealing with the Emperor card. It’s about brains not brawn. It’s about commanding authority without having to clobber someone over the head.

Although there are masculine elements to the Emperor card, the references don’t only apply to men. It can refer to a single mother, a career-woman, or a woman with important responsibilities as well. It can also refer to a man in your life (or someone new coming in) who embodies these qualities.

The message behind this card is one of taking care of business. It’s not the time to be passive or wishy-washy. It’s all about stepping up and taking control of a situation that requires a firm hand and authoritative presence.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 23, 2014 — Ace of Swords

Ace of Swords

Ace of Swords:

Today’s card — from the Alchemical Tarot — is all about clearing your head and focusing your intentions in order to achieve your goals.

The Ace of Swords — as with all Aces — can act as a tool for manifesting. It is raw, pure, unharnessed energy that can be channeled into something both powerful and magical.

It can act as a lightning rod for either positive or negative energy, depending on how it’s used. It refers to getting to the heart of the matter, cutting through the BS, speaking your mind and honoring your truth.

But the Ace of Swords can also be somewhat aggressive and argumentative. When used negatively it really does “cut like a knife” with respect to cruelty or hurtful words.

In this version of the card, a rainbow-hued basilisk is entwined around the blade of the Sword, while a white dove flies in the distance. The dove’s wings are repeated on the hilt of the Sword.

The juxtaposition of these two disparate forces — the dove representing peace and the basilisk representing a powerful yet destructive alchemical force — reminds us of the need to balance our decisions with forethought and our actions with foresight.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 22, 2014 — The World

The World

The World

Today’s card — the World — refers to the process of coming full circle, tying up lose ends and preparing to complete an important life cycle.

In this version of the card, we see a woman wearing nothing but a smile and a ribbon, which is strategically draped around her torso. She holds a crown made of leaves in one hand and scepter in the other.

A scattering of gold stars dot the landscape behind her, while the corners — as with many traditional Rider-Waite style tarot decks — contain the astrological representations of the four fixed signs. There’s a human, and eagle, a bull and a lion.

But look closely, each of them are sporting angel wings and are retrieving knowledge from sacred texts. These are the beasts referenced in the book of Revelations, surrounding God’s throne.

Think about the imagery in this card. The woman has stripped herself of all pretense. She’s removed her crown along with her clothing and the ribbon itself contains all of the colors or the rainbow — a nod to her acceptance of the vast array of experience the Universe has to offer. There’s also mention of a rainbow above God’s throne in the book of Revelations.

Apart from those references though, the message behind the world card is best received with insight and awareness. Ask yourself: “What is is I’ve learned through all that I’ve experienced in this chapter of my life?” and “What must I now give up in order to start anew?” If you can answer those two questions with honesty and humility, you’ll be able to carry those lessons into the next chapter.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 21, 2014 — Goddess of Wands

Goddess of Wands

Goddess of Wands

Today is a good day to put your best foot forward and show the rest of the world what you’re made of, courtesy of the Queen (or Goddess) of Wands.

The Queen of Wands in this version is a Hindu Goddess set before the night sky and a field of tiny stars. She is clothed in royal garb with a decorative headdress, lavish robes and intricate jewels.

Even though she appears to be calm and gentle, there’s electricity in the air around her and flames emanating from her luminous wings. She gazes down upon her totem animal — the mythological Sharabha — with honor and respect.

Directly above her is the Leo constellation, with the fixed stars Denebola and Regulus most prominent. These stars refer to harsh judgment and disgrace (Denebola) and fame and hour (Regulus).

The firm grasp she has on the Sharabha tells us that she strives to contain these powerful energies rather than fear or resist them.

This Goddess is sometimes a force to be reckoned with. She’s noble and strong but her warm demeanor can sometimes disguise a more aggressive and controlling manner.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 20, 2014 — Gemini

Gemini

Gemini

As the Sun moves into Gemini today it is a good time to look at the duplicity in your own nature or that of someone around you.

We all have different layers to our persona and do not show these characteristics to everyone we meet.  In fact, only a few of us can say we are able to share 100% of ourselves with others and even then… there remains a question mark on whether this is the absolute truth.  Perhaps there is a percentage of our real selves that we hide even to ourselves.

Enter the Sun into Gemini… a card traditionally associated with that of the Lovers in most tarot decks.  A card of love but is it love of another or love of the reflection we see of ourselves when we look in the mirror or into our own hearts as we try to fathom out what is truly real for us?

On the surface the image on this card looks to be of 2 identical women but look closely and you will see tiny differences including weight, facial asymmetry, position of hands and stars and my favourite… hair under the armpit… lol.

What may be obvious to you as you look in the mirror at your identical image may not be obvious to other people.

Others may perceive you differently to how you perceive yourself and those little flaws which matter to you are not such a big deal to them.  In other words… it’s time to accept yourself as you are… flaws and all.  What is your “ideal” may not be the “ideal” of others.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 19, 2014 — Nine of Wands

Nine of Wands

Nine of Wands

Today you may feel like you’re starting to get your mojo back, after a period of frustration, boredom, dormancy or inertia.

For the last 6 weeks or so Mars has been retrograde, which may have coincided for you with taking a step back to reassess your goals. You may have even experienced them being thwarted by external circumstances — scheduling conflicts or resistance from others, for example.

The Nine of Wands refers to that period of uncertainty and hesitation that comes after you’ve given what feels like your ALL and still haven’t seen the results for your efforts.

You may have been frustrated with the lack of progress — or worse — come *this close* to completing your journey, only to find another road-block ahead of you.

This is very similar to the frustrations and impediments that abound when Mars is in retrograde. You’re saying “go go go” while the Universe is saying “no no no.”

But if you look at it from an evolutionary perspective, you may be better able to understand why you’ve been forced to step back and to re-evaluate your needs. Perhaps the setbacks you’ve encountered along the way have been more than just setbacks. Perhaps they’ve been lessons in disguise.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 18, 2014 — Seven of Cups

Seven of Cups

Seven of Cups

You may find yourself with the tendency to overdo things today.  With Venus squaring Jupiter the focus is on excess.

This excess could be in your thinking, words, emotions or just generally feeling as if you can’t reign anything in and get a good grip on what is around you.

Look at the cups floating in the air.  What do they mean to you?  Each cup is a different colour which correlates to a different chakra.

Take your time and choose which cup you are most drawn to and ask yourself what this colour means to you… I dare you to try this and when you do take note to any resistance you feel within yourself in actually choosing a cup/colour and being able to hold onto your thoughts surrounding it.

That is the feeling of the Seven of cups… the inability to truly grasp a situation and the capacity to make a mess of things if you go off on a tangent.

If you need further proof of this look at the bottle of alcohol by the foot of the chair for this is also the card of drink, drugs and the confusion associated with these substances.

So the real question is what do you have to work with?  You might be best to sit this day out and not take any actions that would land you in a mess.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 17, 2014 — the Hermit

the Hermit

The Hermit

With Mercury squaring Chiron today, you may feel like retreating from the hustle and bustle of your daily routine and moving toward a place of meditation and quiet reflection.

The Hermit card refers to the yearning for wisdom and knowledge that so many of us possess but so few of us take the time to seek out and develop.

In this version of the card, the Hermit stands alone in the dark, partially submerged in the ocean’s tides. He has only his walking stick and lantern to light the way.

Here we see him submerged deeply into the realm of the unconscious, as shown by the waves surrounding him in this card. Notice too how the patterns the waves make are repeated in the fabric of his cloak.

The waves — and water in general — refer to emotions, feelings, the psyche, the collective unconscious, mystery and the unknown. Water represents the feminine or yin principles of instinct and intuition, rather than logic and rational perception.

The Hermit uses the light from his lantern to look into the of the water, past the surface reflection into the murky depths.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 16, 2014 — King of Wands

King of Wands

King of Wands

How comfortable are you feeling with your own power? The Kind of Wands is a powerful man. He is forceful and kind and likes to have his own way in all things he surveys… and who would not wish to give him otherwise for he is quite adept at whatever he sets his hand and mind to.

In this version of the King of Wands we see a figure who is quite relaxed whilst all around him everything seems to bend to his will. There’s prosperity and growth that looks as if it requires little, if any, effort by him and perhaps this is because he has others doing the hard work for him whilst he comes up with other plans.

He is a man of action but that doesn’t necessarily mean he is the one undertaking the actions for he is also a leader and may have very little patience for those who don’t do as they are told. He doesn’t need to explain himself as he knows what he wants and how to get it.

If you are on the receiving end of this type of behaviour though it may be quite frustrating, to say the least, in knowing how to perceive what his real intentions are. The King of Wands requires a strong woman to stand up to him and you don’t necessarily need to stand up to him head on. As can be seen from the lion, seemingly tamed, beneath his foot you can purr along in the shadow of his exuberance whilst he takes the lead in arranging all that needs done.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 15, 2014 — Two of Cups

Two of Cups

Two of Cups

Hopefully, yesterday wasn’t too much of a fiasco for you and you navigated your way through the stormy waters of the 5 cups along with Pluto squaring Venus.  Today however, is a totally different story and one that goes to show just how quickly things can change with the transiting planets along with a fresh tarotscope.

The 2 of cups is a card of love.  In this version of the card a man is seen sitting sage like on a bench made of uneven rocks whilst he pays homage to the sun (or is that a full moon?).  It is difficult to decipher whether this is dusk or dawn due to the gorgeous shade of blue in the sky and as we all know even a full moon can be seen in the broad light of day.

Is he trying to balance his emotions or is he trying to bring a relationship back into emotional stability through his own efforts.  Whichever way this plays out today it will not be boring or lonesome.

The energy of Uranus conjunct Venus is quick, fast, erratic and usually totally unexpected and just to clarify… this will be to do with your love life!  Sounds too good to be true doesn’t it.

If you’ve been having difficulties within a relationship today may just brush those difficulties aside however don’t go pushing too hard because with Uranus anything can happen… and probably will!  If you are single and looking for love today is a day where it may just land in your lap from out of nowhere.
