Seven of Swords

Seven of Swords

You want to give some serious thought to everything you say or try to communicate to others today.

You may even want to keep your thoughts to yourself. Fortunately with Mercury and Pluto in sextile today, you’ll have good handle on what should be withheld and what should be disclosed.

The Seven of Swords — like all Sevens — requires you to evaluate all the different sides of a complicated situation, and arrive at a solution that causes the least amount of distress.

It can refer to a moral dilemma or one with no easy answer, such as a decision that favors the head over the heart. But it also involves strategy, planning and cunning.

What do you think the man in this card — from the Druidcraft Tarot — is writing? He’s clearly deep in thought and something is weighing heavily on his mind. Perhaps he’s drafting a treaty or agreement that he doesn’t expect to be well received.

His swords are stacked against one another, an indication that he may be at cross-purposes with those he’s communicating with.

Take some time today to think before you speak, as may not have all of the information before you that can help you make a proper assessment. As the Seven of Swords is also a card of suspicion and distrust, you want to make sure you’re not reading into things that just aren’t there. The Mercury / Pluto sextile encourages you to choose your words wisely and to take all things into consideration before you take a stand.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Aug 23, 2015 — Prince of Pentacles

Prince of Pentacles

Prince of Pentacles

As the Sun enters Virgo today you may be thinking about pursuing your goals with more dedication and dogged determination than ever.

Today’s card, the Prince of Pentacles — is the Druid Craft Tarot’s version of the Knight of Pentacles. It knows that slow and steady wins the race, even though that pace may be maddeningly frustrating for others.

There’s a tendency to get too caught up in the details, with both the Prince of Pentacles and Sun in Virgo. And there’s a tendency to be almost too cautious and practical. While it’s good to be prepared, you don’t want to be so focused on preparation that you risk letting important opportunities pass you by.

The Prince of Pentacles wants to think about where he’s going before he sets off toward his destination. He wants to consider his options before he expends any unnecessary energy. And once he gets going he knows how to conserve his resources so he can get to the finish line without having used them up.

There’s no question that he’ll meet his goals, and if this is someone in your life you can bet he’s here to teach you to do the same.

The Prince of Pentacles knows how to conserve his energy, establish goals and get the job done. The presence of this card today — and the Sun moving into Virgo — invites you to take a page from his book and work on planning for your future.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Aug 11, 2015 — Rebirth

Rebirth

Rebirth

As Jupiter moves into Virgo today — for the first time in 11 years — you’ll have the opportunity to look back over the strides you’ve made and the challenges you’ve faced, as you begin a brand new cycle.

The young child in this card stands at the doorway between past and present. He still has an opportunity to look back behind him and clear up any unfinished business. But he has that same opportunity to venture forward and face a brand new world.

This card — called Rebirth in the Druid Craft Tarot — is this deck’s version of the Judgment card. It relates to the endless human journey that we sometimes refer to as “karma.” We reap and sew with each thought, action, and decision.

The Rebirth card calls for self-evaluation and awareness, a need to develop enough spiritual altitude to look objectively at your mistakes and short-comings as well as your triumphs and victories.

It is a powerful reminder that in order to put the past behind us we must not only let go of prior judgments but heal the wounds that have been holding us back. It’s a card of both atonement and forgiveness. Of unconditional love, understanding and acceptance — for both ourselves and for those who’ve hurt us or let us down.

This card represents a summation of all that has come before, and an awareness that each step taken — from here on out — leaves an indelible imprint on our future. It represents a calling — a spiritual call to action, where the past meets the present and beckons you toward the future.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jul 29, 2015 — Prince of Wands

Prince of Wands

Prince of Wands

Today’s card, the Prince of Wands — the Druid Craft Tarot’s version of the Knight of Wands — speaks of gathering up the courage and confidence that’s needed to go after your goals.

It may be a dream you’d set aside because you lacked the time, energy or resources to follow it n the past. It could be an interest that’s been calling out to you that’s no longer possible to resist. And it might be something (or someone) you’re passionate about that you’re only now in a position to pursue.

The Prince of Wands encourages you to move past your fears and go after your dreams with the attitude that nothing can stand in your way. You don’t want to waiver or second-guess yourself; you want to grab onto opportunities that present themselves without a moment’s hesitation.

This doesn’t mean you ought to go gallivanting across the countryside without a plan. Keep in mind that the Prince of Wands can be a bit rash — in an act first and figure out how to get out of whatever predicament you’ve gotten yourself into later sort of way. Because he runs on adrenaline, he has a tendency to lose interest in anything that becomes routine.

If this is someone in your life, you will know him by his confidence and bravado. He may he here to teach you the importance of embracing some of these qualities yourself. But if instead this card represents an energy and attitude you already possess, keep in mind the importance of making preparations and pacing yourself so you don’t run out of steam.

The Prince of Wands is here to remind you that it’s a good time to dream big, challenge yourself and set your goals in motion. If you temper those goals with a enough discipline and perseverance, you may just see them manifest beyond your wildest dreams.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jun 16, 2015 — Ace of Swords

Ace of Swords

Ace of Swords

Today’s card, the Ace of Swords — this version from the Druid Craft Tarot — is all about gaining the insight that is necessary to make decisions that are best for you.

Today’s Sun and Moon (New Moon) in Gemini is also conjunct Mars. This takes place within minutes of arc, making it all the more powerful. This Sun / Moon / Mars conjunction is rife with electrical energy, bringing with it the certainty and clarity that are intrinsically tied to the Ace of Swords.

This aspect is also associated with taking back your power. And nothing says that like an arm with a sword in it rising up from the depths of a murky pool.

The Ace of Swords can be victorious or it can be defiant. And there’s no saying which one this one is. But that’s also a part of taking back your power — deciding whether you want to wield your sword for the greater good or use it as a weapon.

This Sword has its own electrical current. Perhaps it’s stopped a bolt of lightning dead in its tracks, or has harnessed its own energy which is just as powerful.

Some things to think about today: First of all, your actions can have far reaching consequences (notice the ripples in the pond). And secondly, no matter how small or alone you feel in the world, you absolutely do have the capacity to make your presence known.

You do want to be mindful of what you put out there today. The Ace of Swords can have a dual meaning just as the blade itself is double edged. You want to be aware of your words as well as your actions and the impact those have one others.

But this New Moon affords us all the opportunity to start something anew. Think about what’s been weighing on your mind that now needs to be decided once and for all. And what discussion needs to be had in order to iron out any differences. The Ace of Swords encourages you to wield your sword not as a weapon but as a conduit for fairness and honesty.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 26, 2015 — Nine of Swords

Nine of Swords

Nine of Swords

Mars squares Neptune today and may have you wondering what is real and what is all in your head.

The Nine of Swords is sometimes referred to as the “nightmare” card, due to its association with overblown panic and fear.

Often these are self-imposed: as in having gotten into a predicament of our own doing and now being forced to deal with the consequences. There’s sometimes a sense of impending doom associated with this card, also self-created.

You may be feeling a bit more anxious and unsure of yourself or have a hard maintaining your footing. Or — like the figure in this card from the gorgeous Druid Craft Tarot — you may just feeling like pulling the covers back over your head rather than getting out of bed and facing reality.

As Mars is the planet of action and Neptune is the planet of uncertainty, it may even be best for you to hold off on taking any kind of stand.

You may be feeling a bit wobbly and unsure of yourself as your fears can get in the way of making rational decisions. Either the fear is real and you brought it upon yourself, in which case you now have to deal with the repercussions of your actions; or the fear is unfounded and you’re being forced to own up to whatever it is inside of you that has created it.

You may have created a situation — or contributed to one — yourself that now has you terrified of potential consequences. You may feel like running away from your problems, or pulling the blankets up over your head again and pretending that none of it is real. But you’ll find that not confronting your demons and tackling the situation head on only makes them more harrowing.

This is the essence of the Nine of Swords. Not only do our fears have the capacity to paralyze us, but finding the courage to face them has the capacity to extinguish them. If we want to move forward, we’ll have to be brave enough to “take back our power” and face our fears head on.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Mar 27, 2015 — King of Swords

King of Swords

King of Swords

You may have to put your foot down today and be stern with someone that you’ve let slide in the past. Alternately you may be on the receiving end of someone else’s objective and impartial sense of discipline.

The King of Swords is a no-nonsense individual who is expected to mete out justice with a fair and authoritative hand. He may be a parent, a supervisor, a judge, or even a friend that steps in to give you a reality check when you need one most.

As with all court cards this can also refer to you — or to a state of mind that you need to develop — in order to preserve a sense of order in your life.

You may have felt taken advantage of by someone who has overstepped their bounds with you and this card encourages you to resolve that problem by taking a more authoritative stance.

This version of the King — from the Druid Craft Tarot — appears to be deep in thought. He’s weighing his options with his very imposing sword at the ready. He sits high on a hill looking over his Kingdom, prepared to act if necessary.

The King of Swords is also intelligent, strategic and analytical. He’s inherently impartial. He doesn’t mince words, and he doesn’t listen to excuses. He makes his decisions based on logic and reason rather than compassion and empathy.

This card can refer to a need for justice and symmetry in your life. Or it can mark the presence of someone whose sense of authority and justice overrides personal investments.

Whether this refers to you or to another, the underlying message is the same. Step away from emotional attachments and make your decisions today based on what is right, fair, and most importantly best for you in the long run.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Mar 10, 2015 — Princess of Wands

Princess of Wands

Princess of Wands

Today is a good day to be alive! It’s a day for trusting your instincts, pursuing your passions and reveling in the spirit of adventure.

The Princess of Wands (the Druid Craft Tarot’s version of the Page of Wands) — is all about seizing the moment and embracing your experiences with every fiber of your being.

The Princess of Wands is passionate, confident and adventurous. She’s not afraid to put herself out there and show the rest of the world what she’s made of. She’s enthusiastic and eager to make things happen. She may not always think things through though; she’s more interested in getting things moving than seeing them through to fruition.

Like all of the Pages in the tarot, there’s the promise of a wide open road ahead of you. A world of possibilities that have yet to be discovered. And unlimited resources for you to tap into.

There’s a fiery, impassioned energy about this Princess of Wands. She stands poised and ready to go, with her vibrant garb, tossled hair and imposing staff all testaments to her dynamic presence. There’s a sense of being on the verge of starting something new and exciting today— even if you don’t know yet exactly what that is.

As Mars and Jupiter come together today (in trine, or 120° aspect), the urge to make things happen is pronounced. This aspect can also open doors and clear away obstacles that might otherwise obstruct you from achieving your desires.

Keep in mind though that there’s a sort of reckless abandon associated with the Princess of Wands, and as such it’s probably not the best time to commit to long-term projects or goals. It’s a great time for brain-storming, inventing and creating — and not so great for launching a project that is not yet fully formed. Use this time to tap into your creative potential and save the business of accomplishing something big for another day.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jan 23, 2015 — Princess of Pentacles

Princess of Pentacles

Princess of Pentacles

Today is a day of learning and focusing on how you can apply what you’ve learned to your long-term goals.

The Princess of Pentacles (the Druid Craft Tarot’s version of the Page of Pentacles) — is always thinking ahead. About what she wants to do with her life (or her profession, or her studies, etc.) and how she can go about doing it.

Like all of the Pages in the tarot, there’s the promise of a wide open road ahead of you. A world of possibilities that have yet to be discovered. And unlimited resources for you to tap into.

There’s something sort of wild and unfettered about this Princess of Pentacles. She stands barefoot on a rock and gazes thoughtfully at the giant pentacle she holds in her hands. Behind her an esoteric symbol is etched into stone tablet.

As Mercury and Saturn come together today (in sextile, or 60° aspect), it’s a good time to start thinking seriously about what you can to to build toward your future. What seeds can be planted and plans can set in motion.

You may thinking of going back to school now or taking a night course. Or you may be working on your own evolutionary process. Either way it’s as much about learning as it is about applying what you’ve learned, as all of the Pages (or Princesses in this case) are in some position of just starting out.

No matter where you’re at in your journey there’s always something new to learn and some new way to improve on your skills. Whether the Princess of Pentacles is you or someone in your life, know that she”s here to remind you to never stop growing, learning or evolving.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Nov 7, 2014 — Two of Pentacles

Two of Pentacles

Two of Pentacles

Today it’s going to be all about juggling the different areas in your life and finding ways to maintain some sort of equilibrium in the process.

It’s about needing to be flexible and adaptable, as well as being able to shift from one task to another without losing focus.

.Notice the two pentacles the woman in is juggling deftly on this card. They look identical, and this may refer to their level of importance in the realm of larger considerations. But as far as what you want to accomplish today (as opposed to what needs to get done), they’re probably not equal at all.

It could be work and responsibilities vs. pleasure and play. It could be relationships vs. autonomy. Or it could even be up time (productivity) vs. down time (rest).

Whatever it is, you don’t want to be so focused on weighing your options that you lose sight of what’s going on around you. In the midst of all this rocky terrain the woman in this card stands on solid ground. Yet there’s a storm brewing in the background and shipwreck taking place right behind her.

Maybe she feels safe because she’s somewhat sheltered from the storm. Or maybe she’s so invested in trying to balance out her priorities that she doesn’t even notice it. One thing’s for sure: if she loses her concentration and ends up dropping the ball, everything she’s striving for will fall out of balance.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Oct 21, 2014 — Two of Swords

Two of Swords

Two of Swords

Today you may be reflecting on the different options that are available to you, as well as the different paths that are laid out before you.

You could find yourself at a pivotal juncture — in your career, your personal life or even with respect to your spiritual journey.

The Two of Swords encourages you to weigh the different options available to you before you make a decision. And with Mercury conjuncting the Moon’s North Node today, that decision could be very important.

Whenever a planet conjuncts the North Node it automatically opposes the South, as these two points are always in polarity.

Mercury’s aspect to the Nodes implies that decisions you’ve made in the past (South Node) are up for review at this time.

They can also greatly impact on your future (North Node), not just now but across many lifetimes.

The woman in this card sits perfectly still before two distinct but different paths. Aside from the scarf draped over her shoulder, she wears nothing but a blind-fold.

The swords in her hands are crossed before her, each pointing in a different direction.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Sept 23, 2014 — Six of Pentacles

Six of Pentacles

Six of Pentacles

There’s some inconsistency today in what you have coming in and what you have going out.

Whether this is money coming in and going out or your time being squandered away and you don’t know where it all goes as you run out of time to get things done it. One thing is certain… you are not coming up trumps when it relates to the fine act of balancing.

As Jupiter is inconjunct Chiron today the planet of excess (Jupiter) may have so completely had you running around in circles that you are thrown off balance when it comes to what you have actually been doing and coming up short on answers that make sense when you try to retrace your steps that got you to where you are now.

Chiron can be of help with self healing and wisdom here but Jupiter’s effects on it today are that wisdom is a bit thin on the ground and what wisdom and common sense is around is being blindsided.

This is not the day to go out and do a spot of shopping as it may turn out you spend so much that you can’t tally up the amount that went out to the value of the purchases that caught your eye. It is also not the day to forge headlong into a pile of bills and pay them without checking all the facts are straight and the figures are correct.
