You may be mulling over the 101 ideas that are rushing through your head today.  Just as one bright idea pops into your mind another sprouts up to take its place.

You need to stay focused if you wish to “win” a discussion. Don’t rush in too quickly; decide what you want the outcome to be, and don’t get distracted by things that have no bearing upon your original plan.

Reflect on how easy it would be to hit that butterfly with the sword as shown in this card. My guess is it would not be easy but it would distract you to the point of weakening your own arguments.

The Page of Swords may have his head in the clouds but that doesn’t mean it’s not full of ideas. He’s thinking and planning and strategizing at any given moment. He may have BIG ideas — bigger than he’s prepared to handle, much like that giant sword in his hands. But it’s those ideas that propel him forward, toward ultimately accomplishing his goals.

The Page of Swords can be charming and clever. He (or she) is also somewhat immature, temperamental and emotionally unsophisticated. You may grow tired of his antics have to resist the urge to yank him by the ear and send him to his room.

But there are positive attributes associated with this card as well. There’s curiosity, innovation and idealism that’s hard to find anywhere else. These are the gifts from the Page of Swords, which can inspire you to reach for the stars as well.

As Mercury enters Gemini today you may wake up with a spring in your step, ready to tackle whatever misadventures come your way.

The Page of Swords — this version from the Tarot of the Magical Forest — is known for having places to go and people to see. He’s restless, distractible and easily bored, so if this is someone in your life make sure you’ve got ways to keep him entertained.

There’s a sort of effortless buoyancy seen in this version of the card, with the Page of Swords playing dressup in his red cape and superhero boots. He wields a sword in one hand and pounds his chest with the other.

He may try to look tough but he’s no more menacing than the pussy cat he is underneath all that posturing and bravado. Although he is known to use his sharp tongue as a weapon, in the end he’s really harmless.

Pay attention to messages you receive today as they may be veiled or cloaked in double meanings.

The Page of Swords is a messenger card and is known for ferreting out the truth. But this “two-faced” version implies that things are not always as they seem and may come about through deception or duplicity.

You may uncover a deception or meet with someone whose motives prove to be disingenuous. Or you may have the be the bearer of uncomfortable news yourself, in which case you find yourself needing to deliver it carefully and diplomatically.

The Page of Swords — this version from Yoshitaka Amano’s Amano Tarot — is all about communications, ideas, information and news. He (or she) is generally very curious, a good judge of character, quick to size up others and able to see through ulterior motives and agendas.

In this respect it’s very difficult to hide anything from the Page of Swords. Yet this Page appears to be good at hiding his own true motives: presenting one face to the outer world while hiding his true identity in the background.

Communications are going to be important today, and as Mars conjuncts the South Node, you want to be particularly careful at how you communicate your ideas to others. The Mars/ South Node aspect is not known for tact or diplomacy.

The potential for being at odds with others or getting into a disagreement with someone is high.

But be careful too that you don’t make assumptions about someone’s motives that turn out to be colored by your own paranoia. The downside of this card is the potential for distorting information or reading into it something that is simply not there.

The challenge for you today is to figure out a way to look at the whole picture without accepting things at face value. While here’s likely to be more than meets the eye with respect to any communications, your goal should be to work on getting at the truth and disregarding anything that detracts you from that goal.

Thoughts flow through you mind today that are uplifting and enlightening.

It is time to rise above anything that has been bothering you and look towards new ways of thinking.

Notice that the darkest part of this image is underneath the feet yet the feet do not touch it. It is as if by rising above a situation or your thoughts on this situation that you free yourself from it.

White butterflies are seen in abundance and most of these are above the figure’s head meaning new thoughts are coming to you and these thoughts are pure and true. They will guide you and further help to set you free.

There is one butterfly held within the hands giving the impression that if you speak your truth and let it fly then you will be further released from what has held you trapped.

With the wings holding the figure aloft looking remarkable like the butterflies flying around it there is a sense of transformation especially as the majority of the butterflies are around the crown chakra which is lit up and shining.

Do not dismiss any thoughts that pass through your mind today for they are there to show you a different way of thinking.

The yellow/golds of the gown worn is also reflected in the crown chakra showing there is protection around you today. If you need to tackle something which you have been putting off then today is the day you will either confront what has been bothering you or rise above it to the point it no longer is a problem for you.

What do you have to lose? Either way you will walk away intact and unaffected with a sense of freedom.

Today as Mercury enters Scorpio you may take the opportunity to look back at the last few weeks where, although communications may not have gone as you wanted or smoothly, to say the least, you have come out of it all and can at last put it all behind you.

You are not quite out of the woods yet when it comes to communication difficulties and this Page of Swords shows that what you are thinking and actually wanting to communicate may not come out the way you planned.

Because of this it may be best to put serious conversations off for a few days.

You may think you are standing (or sitting) on solid ground but as this image shows the solid mountains are beneath you and you are actually sitting within the clouds.

Its almost as if you are not fully aware of where you are or how you got there.

With the moon in Gemini today you will have a lot of mental activity around you and if you are required to give a firm answer to a question it may be best if you try to buy yourself a bit of time while you gather all the facts before answering.

After all, as this image suggests, you are not standing (or sitting) on solid ground and you are also not coming forth with solid ideas.

Page of Swords:

There’s a lot on your mind today and a lot of things to do.

For the most part you are pretty happy just getting on with everything but there seems to be such an abundance of chores that you may need to watch that you don’t miss something…

Especially running with scissors as this can imply that if you do miss something it can come back to hurt you later or imminently.

Your mood is happy and upbeat and as you go about your day there is a sense of childlike fascination in all that you do and perhaps a bit of manic energy in which you do it in.

This is not the day for cutting ties with anything or anyone in your life without giving it further thought. If you rush in and act without thinking something through then you may find out something else further down the line that you didn’t know at this time which brings to mind the saying “act in haste… repent in leisure.”

For this is exactly what you will be faced with, namely, the hard, cold fact that you could’ve avoided the impulsive actions and/or words you used.

You don’t want to get your hands dirty and yet at the same time you can’t help leaving your palm marks everywhere you go as if you are marking your territory out in some haphazard way.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 13, 2014 — Princess of Swords

Princess of Swords

Princess of Swords

Are you waiting to hear from someone today or expecting an important message?

Perhaps you’re in the process of negotiating a contract or settlement, and are preparing to sign on the dotted line.

The Princess (or Page) of Swords is a “messenger card.” You may hear from an old friend, receive news, or learn the answer to a nagging question — whether it’s the answer you were hoping for or not.

As with all the court cards, the Princess of Swords card refer to someone in your life (or coming in) or it can refer to a frame of mind that you need to adopt in order to meet your goals. If this is someone in your life now, you can expect her to cut to the chase, not mince words, and tell you the truth without sugar coating it.

In this version of the card, the Princess stands alert in field of wildflowers. A gentle breeze tousles her hair and cloak. Her sword is held high but blade down, and wrapped in a silken ribbon. A bird flies high in the distance, perhaps delivering a message to a far-off place.

The Princesses in the Druid Craft Tarot deck are the female versions of “Pages” in traditional decks. They’re youthful, sensitive, and sincere. They’re full of potential, lacking in worldly experience and sophistication and may be overly idealistic and naive.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Mar 6, 2014 — Princess of Arrows

Princess of Arrows

Princess of Arrows

The Princess of Arrows is this deck’s version of the Page of Swords. In the Lover’s Path Tarot set, the Princesses are represented by famed goddesses, and this particular card references the Greek Goddess Psyche.

Psyche was naive, immature, curious and capricious. Also quite beautiful. But she was born a mortal and only became a goddess after many trials and tribulations. Her story is one of ultimate growth and redemption, but not without wreaking havoc at almost every turn.

In this version of the card we see a young Psyche holding an arrow and surrounded by butterflies. The Greek word for butterfly is Psyche (also the word for “Soul’). The arrow comes from Cupid, who accidentally pricked himself, thus binding them together for eternity.

The Pages / Princesses all represent the first sign of their related element: in this case Air and therefore Gemini. As they’re also all very youthful, we often see the more immature and unbridled energy associated with those signs.

ARIES: The World

This month you may see the long awaited completion of a project you have been involved in or a part of your life you have been wanting to bring together in the best possible way.

This image on this card comes from German painter Hans Memling famous for many great works of art, including this painting of Saint Urslula of the Holy Virgins.

In this painting, Saint Ursula stands shielding her handmaidens against certain death.

The four corners of the card show the images of the four fixed astrological signs: Aquarius, Scorpio, Taurus and Leo.

They’re also said to represent the four Evangelists: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

This card is about using all of your gifts to reach out and accomplish your goals.

As the last card of the Major Arcana, it symbolizes completion.
