Yoga Tarot - the Lovers

The Lovers

Today’s Venus / Pluto sextile may put you in the mood for love. This is a highly seductive aspect, especially with Venus now in Scorpio the sign associated with intimacy and passionate romantic interludes.

The Lovers card — this version from the beautiful Yoga Tarot — is all about uniting with another, and falling in love. But it’s not always an easy or definitive love.

Sometimes there are feelings of ambivalence or uncertainty, and sometimes there are choices to be made that can complicate things even more.

The figures in this card are clearly mesmerized by one another. They hold each other in a loving embrace, oblivious to the world around them.

But life — and love — is not always so simple. You might notice the pair of serpents wending their way around the couple and locking in their fate.

This card can also indicate uncertainty in relationship or a decision that needs to be made. You may be wondering where you stand or whether someone you care about feels the same.

You may also be ready to fall head over heels in love and wondering when someone new is coming in. If you’re in love today and happy with your choices, remember to celebrate that love with the object of your affection. And if you’re not — if you’re out there like so many of the rest of us still looking: don’t give up.

The Lovers card — and this one in particular — can serve as a reminder that there’s someone out there for all of us, and that what is most important is having an open heart that you’re ready, willing and able to share with another.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Oct 5, 2015 — Nine of Pentacles

Nine of Pentacles

Nine of Pentacles

Today’s Sun / Jupiter inconjunct may have you thinking about all of the opportunities in your life while still trying to find a way to keep your feet planted firmly on the ground.

The Nine of Pentacles — this version from the beautiful Yoga Tarot — refers to a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction, not just for all you’ve achieved but also for all that is still out there and yours for the taking.

This is a good time to count your blessings and to express gratitude for all of the wonderful things you’ve accomplished in your life. speaks of shifting your attitude to one of gratitude. It speaks of  seeing your ship coming in and knowing that you’ve called it to you — via the laws of abundance and attraction.

The Nine of Pentacles represents that intricate and fulfilling balance between expressing gratitude and achieving prosperity. It refers to developing a prosperity consciousness, knowing that the Universe offers up unlimited abundance to those who do.

It also refers to that sense of satisfaction that comes from knowing that you are where you are not because you’ve been lucky or have been the benefactor of someone else’s generosity. It’s been your own hard work and determination (seen in the Eight of Pentacles) that’s led you to where you are today.

We all know (in theory) that all the money in the world won’t buy us happiness if it’s acquired without passion. Yet we keep on wanting more of it, and find ourselves struggling with the idea of figuring out how much is “enough.”

The Nine of Pentacles challenges us to not only answer that question but to examine our personal values as well. Money is just one form “values” and is usually the one we pay the most attention to. We need to be mindful of the temptation to overlook one set of values for another, especially when it involves compromising our principles.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jul 1, 2015 — Ten of Chalices

Ten of Chalices

Ten of Chalices

Today is a good day for finding your center and allowing the Universal blessings of love, gratitude, harmony and grace to flow through you.

The Ten of Chalices — this version from the  Yoga Tarot’s — is a card of serenity, contentment and fulfillment. This ties in beautifully with today’s Venus / Jupiter conjunction which is currently prominent in the evening sky.

An evening star Venus (called Venus Hesperus in astrology) tends to express the Venusian qualities of love, beauty and emotional satiety in a more introspective and purposeful manner — much like the woman in this card.

Add Jupiter to the mix and put them both in Leo and you have a recipe for self-love and personal fulfillment which emanates from you and touches everyone you meet.

There’s a natural harmony and flow in this card, as the woman is seen levitating above a lotus blossom in a classic zen-style lotus pose.

There’s an almost perfect balance between the left and right sides of the card, which are essentially mirror images of one another. The Waves in the background come together and form an elaborate heart.

The Ten of Chalices is a card of gratitude, fulfillment and contentment. It refers to acknowledging all that you have as well as your connections with others. It’s about happiness and security in the areas that matter most — with family, friends and loved ones.

This is not the time to think about what is lacking in your life but rather what makes it complete. And while you don’t want to be resting on your laurels, it’s important to acknowledge those who are most important to you and who keep your cup continuously full.

Take time to meditate today and reflect on the blessings in your life. Like ripples in the pond this card, all that you put out there will  expand out into the Universe and be replenished over time.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Apr 22, 2015 — Queen of Chalices

Queen of Chalices

Queen of Chalices

Today would be a good day to step away from all of the noise and distractions going on around you in the outside world and retreat into your inner sanctuary.

With Venus sextiling Jupiter and Mercury trining Pluto today, you should be able to tap into your own sacred space and regroup — even if just for a short while.

The Queen of Chalices — the Yoga Tarot’s version of the Queen of Cups — is so good at caring for and nurturing others that she may forget to take the time to pamper herself. But this Queen is here to show you how it’s done.

She’s seen levitating over a pool of lotus blossoms in a classic meditation pose. She’s positioned herself in the most peaceful and relaxing environment possible, with soothing colors and a relaxing array of ambient lighting.

She gazes down into the tranquil waters while butterflies flit gently around her head. Her hands rest gently on her lap in the classic mudra for peace.

The Venus / Jupiter sextile brings the “greater benefics” together in harmony. It serves as a conduit between peace and joy, love and gratitude, grace and beauty.

The Mercury / Pluto trine allows you to tap into the restorative powers of your own psyche. It provides intimate access into the primal energy that flows through you, activating and energizing your chakras. It allows you to awaken the kundalini powers within that rise and nourish your spirit.

Take some time today to create your own sacred space and nurture your own spirit. Like the Queen of Chalices in this card, find a way to create a calm, soothing environment for yourself and “rise above” the noise that can interfere with your ability to alleviate stress. You may have neglected yourself while caring for others. But today is a day of treating yourself, pampering yourself and restoring your own inner peace.

Six of Swords

Breath in, breath out and shake it all about. Today is a great day for travelling. Whether that travel is done internally or it is a journey you shall make it is designed to shake you up a bit and get you thinking in a new way.

You may have felt stuck within a situation and need an energy boost to see it in a new way. Look to the past for you have been where you now before. The vibrant orange/red shows that you are not as calm as you show on the outside.

There is the makings of a storm within you and this may be linked to you dredging up past memories. If you find this is the case look at how you dealt with similar situations in the past.

You may have reacted calmly and not given your true thoughts or emotions a voice which has in turn left you boiling over inside today as you are once again confronted with the energetic imprint of these thoughts and emotions.

This can be a problem if you react quickly because those around you and possibly even yourself may not understand the reactive explosion from you today. If you try to hold it in it may eat away at you and you find yourself tense and irritable with no amount of calmness overcoming.

On the bright side it seems this emotion has not fully reached your head and this means you do have the choice to act and react in ways you possibly should have in the past.

With the Holidays fast approaching you may wish to think on any imbalances around your family life and if you are still holding onto past anger that is triggered at this time of year.

Sometimes holding everything in when it should’ve been diffused previously does neither you nor anyone else any favours. It can also leave you out in the cold and feeling alone.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Nov 24, 2014 — Eight of Wands

Eight of Wands

Eight of Wands

It’s time to reach for the sky and channel your thoughts toward where you wish for them to go.

The image on this card shows you have both feet planted firmly on the ground and are awash with new learning and ways to put it forth into your own world.

You stand in a bubble of your own making and are not concerned or worried about what is going on around you.

The world could shake or break but just as long as you are within your own world you feel safe and protected.

If there is anything around for you today where you feel the need to just block everything out and get on with your own thing then you have the capacity to do so.

This card shows that things can change suddenly.

There could be news coming to you and it will not make any difference to you if the news is positive or negative because you will stand firm and take everything with a pinch of salt and in your own stride.

Nothing will sway you as you have inner strength and inner knowing as to what you are going to do next.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Oct 26, 2014 — Eight of Pentacles

Eight of Pentacles

Eight of Pentacles

You are so centred and focused on what you are doing today that all else pales into insignificance.

The 8 pentacles is about work or doing something that requires great focus. It is about looking at the bigger picture but seeing the little details within the picture.

The yoga pose in this version of the card implies that what you are looking at is yourself and where you stand in the greater scheme of things in your life yet at the same time you are not bothered about what is outside you or what others think as the only person whose opinion matters is your own.

Notice how the blue and orange lines aiming towards the figure are perfectly aligned. Some of them are even aligned with the chakra points which bring energy and change into your life. Go to the blue or orange line you are drawn to and see if it has any significance to your body just now. You may even want to focus on it for a while and notice if you have a change in your energy levels.

Inside the figure is a bright yellow lines which looks like a sun aglow. Once again the spokes on the ends of these yellow lines are in alignment with the chakra points of the back showing that whilst energy is coming to you from the anterior side of your body it is also pouring in to the posterior side of your body.

You need to pay particular attention to your own thoughts and what these are saying to you as there is the capacity here for you to be able to share with others what you are learning if you break down what you are doing in a certain way.

What a beautiful image this picture paints!

Today is a day to get into yourself, know what you want and test your own boundaries.

I daresay from this yoga pose that you’ll be testing more than a few of your own boundaries you may be pushing yourself to breaking point.

However, be aware that not everything happens all at once. One stretch lead to another… and another and before you know it you are where you set out to be.

You have the capacity today to use all your resources both inner and outer and the beautiful array of colour in this card gives a glimpse to how you are using your resources.

Each chakra is represented in this image so you have a great chance of tuning into yourself and balancing any aspect that you may have found to be coming up short lately.

With Venus inconjunct Neptune today you may be looking to balance more about your love life and emotions than anything else.

There may be the urge to merge with another person but you also need your own space and boundaries and if this has been a problem for you within a relationship recently then perhaps you may wish to gaze upon this image and hear what it speaks to you.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Aug 30, 2014 — Three of Pentacles

Three of Pentacles

Three of Pentacles

It’s time to take your own power back and use it in a way that best suits you!

Today is about energy… specifically your own energy and what you do with it.

Are you letting it leach out and having it taken by others who you are doing everything for whilst at the same time getting nothing in return?

Or are you using that energy to turn your dreams into reality and shower yourself with the many benefits this can in turn give you?

These are the questions you need to be asking yourself today.

By asking yourself these questions and taking your own thoughts, needs and wants into the equation of your answer you can harness your own energy and have it working for you rather than against you.

What is your dream? How far along have you traveled in accomplishing it?

The many facets of the peacocks feathers in this image suggest that there are multi layers to what you are wishing to accomplish and the yellows suggest mental agility in realizing what you need to do next.

All eyes are on you… or are they? Notice that you are only see one half of the picture in this image. What are the peacock’s feet doing, where are they placed and for that matter what is the other half of the body of the man doing?

Free Daily Tarotscope — Jun 7, 2014 — Five of Swords

Five of Swords

Five of Swords

In line with Mercury turning retrograde we have the Five of Swords which is a card that usually denotes friction, sharp words with others or even legal disputes.

However, the imagery on this version looks as if the friction, negative thoughts or any disputes you are having are within your “self” and it is time to look within for the answers and seek inner clarity.

There is something very “night and day” about this card.  It is as if you can just extend your hand through an invisible shield and there you have the opposite thought, feeling or circumstance to what you are experiencing now in the present.

You are poised, you are in alignment, you are concentrating and yet what you see is a mirror image with perhaps no answers just yet in what you are trying to achieve and indeed what you may be trying to achieve is calmness and contemplation itself without the need to act or speak out.

To just let all around you take its course while you remain calm and untouched yet always with the awareness of what is going on without and within you.

This is a card you can come back to again and again over the next 5 weeks as Mercury turns retrograde, stations and then turns direct to travel through degrees in Cancer and Gemini. During this process, Mercury moves beyond the actual retrograde into what’s call its “shadow period,” which is also reflected in the imagery of this card.

Free Daily Tarotscope — May 27, 2014 — Eight of Cups

Eight of Cups

Eight of Cups

It’s time to get creative, find your centre and do things your way! With the Moon opposing Saturn and making a sextile to Jupiter this morning (as its last aspect before it goes Void of Course), you want to take enough of a breather to get clarity on your intentions and on the direction you want to take in the next phase of your personal journey.

Look at all the beautiful colours within this card. Greens for growth, blues for communication, lilac lotuses falling all around like raindrops from heaven. Chakra centres highlighted within the figure on the card notably the second chakra for creativity, third eye for intuition, heart chakra for love whilst at the same time clothed in a sea of blue and mauve robes standing for communication and spirituality flowing all around.

The Eight of Cups is a card of solitude, going it alone or taking yourself out of your daily life to gain some peace and quiet. What better depiction of this than the Lotus yoga pose on this card, which incorporates a positive frame of mind and access to higher realms of knowledge to help you on your way.

Many ideas are running through your mind and if you are open to change then this is a good time to make that change. There is a tranquility here suggesting that your mind and ideas are what will forge you forward.

You will be able to focus your mind in a way that ideas that once seemed vague now come up clearly giving you a head start in carrying them out.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Apr 8, 2014 — The Sun

the Sun

The Sun

Today the Sun is in opposition to Mars which is a very energetic aspect to have and one that requires care in handling. If you think of Mars (planet of war and action) being opposite the Sun which is the core of the solar system then you get the general idea that things could go wrong today in a very big way OR they could go straight to plan with a few surprises that get you to your goal.

One thing is for sure it is not a boring day.  If you think of an opposition as 180 degrees with the Sun at one side and Mars at the other and imagine what you find in the middle… good old planet Earth where you reside then you get the gist of the energy around for you today.

The card of the Sun for today’s tarotscope beautifully depicts the balance you will need today.Remember two feet on the ground, body open to the sun soaking up its rays and energy to enliven you and your hands pointing towards the heavens where a phoenix with a tail of fire seems to be laughing as it flies away from you.

Do not let things get out of hand today as you may have a hard time reigning in what it is you want to happen and what is actually happening around you. Get very clear in your own mind what you need to do but don’t be so rigid that if something goes a little amiss then you are thrown into a state of panic because Mars could make that panic turn into something more than it actually needs to be… such as an explosive argument.
