Free Daily Tarotscope — Apr 12, 2014 — Nine of Pentacles

Nine of Pentacles

Nine of Pentacles

The Nine of Pentacles implies success and satisfaction with career and financial matters. However, take a closer look at the imagery in this particular card and you may find that all is not as it seems.

I’m not saying you should not feel more than a bit smug with your achievements but you may find you have an “itch” to try something different.

Do you find thoughts keep coming into your mind that you want to change something? Perhaps your job, your beliefs on success and what it personally means to you?

If you look at this card you will see 6 pentacles are on one side (left hand side) and 3 pentacles on the other (right hand side).

Take a sneaky look on the ground under the 6 pentacles and you will see a snail so perhaps the accumulation of your wealth, knowledge and security is actually making you feel as if your life is moving at a slower pace (a snail’s pace).

Now look at the side of the card with the 3 pentacles and you’ll notice an almost mirrored version of the left-hand side… the difference being there is less on the right hand side (3 pentacles) which implies if you make a decision to go in a different direction you will have less in some ways but you may actually gain in other ways.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Apr 11, 2014 — Ace of Cups

Ace of Cups

 Ace of Cups

The suit of cups denotes feelings and the Ace of Cups is no exception.  It speaks of love.  Whether this is love of self or love within a relationship it forces you to look at it and what it means for you.

In this version of the card we see a white dove perched precariously on top of the cup which looks as if it is about to tumble into a stormy sea.  Water (the sea) stands for emotions and these are looking a bit turbulent as the waves break onto what is left of the headland upon which the cup sits.

You may wish to keep in mind that even though things within your relationship (or within yourself) are not all smooth sailing you can endure through most of it and stick things out for another day (as with the farmer in the background who has been attending the fields). Underneath the cup is the field the farmer has been attending to.  Look at all the hard work he has put into it only leaving a few weeds out towards the headland overlooking the sea.  Love sometimes is not all smooth sailing.

There are ups and downs and there is endurance where both people know each other so well that there is no need to speak things through as the underlying feeling of love between them means they know the relationship will endure even through hard times and they’re both willing to put the work into the relationship to make this happen without the need for a “pat on the back” or acknowledgement from their partner.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Apr 10, 2014 — Two of Wands

Two of Wands

Two of Wands

Today’s Aries Sun / Leo Moon combination is perfect for taking the spark of an idea and turning it into something powerful and tangible.

The Two of Wands speaks of that creative life force that propels each of us forward, whether we’re aware of it or not. It may be dormant or unconscious or buried under fear, but it’s there nevertheless.

The constellation referenced by this card — Cetus — is much the same: its borders are just outside the boundaries of the official zodiac; yet the ecliptic passes so close to it and even dips just inside of its borders that the Sun, Moon and planets do cross over from time to time.

The Sea Monster for which Cetus is named carries with it both positive and negative connotations — in keeping with the dual nature of the Two of Wands. In some stories it refers to fearlessness and heroism. And in some it relates to misfortune and calamity.

The Two of Wands is all about getting in touch with your own personal power.  It’s about boldness, bravery and certainty — all of which must be accessed in order to “slay” the monster.

It’s the Sun in Aries’ ability to stand up against fears and refuse to back down. And it’s the Leo ability to ignite those impulses and turn them into something meaningful.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Apr 9, 2014 — Lust

Lust

Lust

Today is a good day to set aside your fears and inhibitions, and embrace the many blessings that the Universe has to offer you.

The Lust card replaces the “Strength” card in traditional tarot. The main difference is the emphasis on embracing passion and desire rather than attempting to contain it. It is a card of joy, exuberance and passion — ruled by Leo (which is where the Moon is today and tomorrow) in its most unrestrained form.

In this version of the card we see a woman reclining on the back of a beast with seven heads. These are the heads of a poet, an angel, a saint, an adulterous woman, a man of valor, a satyr and a lion-serpent.

She holds the beast’s reins in one hand, and lifts up the Holy Grail in the other. The ten circles in the background are the unordered Sephiroth, which have yet to coalesce into the Tree of Life.

Legend has it that the woman and beast are united in marriage. She is drunk with ecstasy, and he is aflame with passion and desire. The Lust card is associated with Leo, and is said to be the most powerful of the twelve zodiac trumps, as it is ruled by the Sun. It is associated with the Kerub of Fire — the Winged Lion guardian of the Temple.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Apr 8, 2014 — The Sun

the Sun

The Sun

Today the Sun is in opposition to Mars which is a very energetic aspect to have and one that requires care in handling. If you think of Mars (planet of war and action) being opposite the Sun which is the core of the solar system then you get the general idea that things could go wrong today in a very big way OR they could go straight to plan with a few surprises that get you to your goal.

One thing is for sure it is not a boring day.  If you think of an opposition as 180 degrees with the Sun at one side and Mars at the other and imagine what you find in the middle… good old planet Earth where you reside then you get the gist of the energy around for you today.

The card of the Sun for today’s tarotscope beautifully depicts the balance you will need today.Remember two feet on the ground, body open to the sun soaking up its rays and energy to enliven you and your hands pointing towards the heavens where a phoenix with a tail of fire seems to be laughing as it flies away from you.

Do not let things get out of hand today as you may have a hard time reigning in what it is you want to happen and what is actually happening around you. Get very clear in your own mind what you need to do but don’t be so rigid that if something goes a little amiss then you are thrown into a state of panic because Mars could make that panic turn into something more than it actually needs to be… such as an explosive argument.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Apr 7, 2014 — Page of Wands

Page of Wands

Mercury moves into Aries today so be ready to wash aside all of the miscommunications, frustrations and slowness that you may have experienced over the last few months, especially given that Mercury was retrograde during part of that time.

Mercury in Aries is fast, direct, impatient and does not have time to think through all the in’s and out’s of everything.

This is a time about “thinking on your feet”, coming up with answers from the “top of your head” and generally listening to yourself in every which way that matters… even the wrong ways.

The Page of Wands is a card of news.  Now it may be a letter, email, phone call you are waiting for which is of importance to you and heralds forth a new idea or path in your life.  Whatever it is Wands denote that it happens quickly and with the Page of Wands you may wish to think more carefully about what you will do with the information when it does come.

Look a the way the rabbit in this card walks with a certain attitude that it cares for nothing else but the importance of itself and its own ideas.  It is not worried about where it is going or where it has come from.  What matters most is what it is thinking and where these thoughts can take it.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Apr 6, 2014 — Moon in Cancer

Moon in Cancer

Moon in Cancer

You may find yourself longing for the closeness and comfort of home today. With the Moon in its own sign (Cancer) and conjuncting Jupiter today, you may feel an urge to connect more intimately with loved ones and family members.

You may also be be feeling sentimental and nostalgic, reminiscing about the past and longing for a simpler time. The Cancer archetype is about feelings and emotions, home, family, childhood, the past, etc.

It is a feminine archetype, nurturing and mothering, as so beautifully depicted in this card. Here we see the ultimate mother archetype — the Virgin Mother — who appears as an angel rising up from the sea, cradling her son in her arms. The full Moon is reflected in the surface waters and the stars that make up her halo are also shining in the night sky.

The Moon / Jupiter conjunction (at 5:32pm EDT) takes place at 11°59′ Cancer — the Sabian symbol for which is “A Chinese Woman Nursing a Baby Whose Aura Reveals Him to be the Reincarnation of a Great Teacher.”

This symbol refers to the spiritual legacies that are realized through deep emotional bonds, such as a past life connection or an encounter with a child who unexpectedly opens an evolutionary gateway for you.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Apr 5, 2014 — the Lovers

the lovers

The Lovers

As Venus moves into Pisces today — where it is exalted — you may be thinking about the kind of romantic idealistic love that seems only attainable under the rarest of circumstances.

The Lovers card is actually associated with Gemini (which is where the Moon is today). But the painting that was selected for this version of the card is decidedly Venus in Pisces, with the lovers so entwined in an intimate embrace that they appear to almost dissolve into one another.

This painting, known as “the Kiss,” is probably Klimt’s most famous piece. It is believed that he and his muse Emilie Flöge were the models for this painting.

The Loves card often refers to a decision or a dilemma involving matters of the heart. Perhaps you’re wondering where you stand in a relationship; or maybe you’re questioning your feelings about another.

This card also sometimes refers to a literal love triangle. An illicit affair. A clandestine relationship. Or one that would be frowned upon by your family, friends or church.

You may be torn about whether to proceed with a relationship that’s still new. Or you may be considering throwing the towel in on one that has grown stale and old.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Apr 4, 2014 — Ace of Pentacles

Ace of Pentacles

 Ace of Pentacles

Today’s Moon in Gemini may have you thinking about the world of opportunities that are now before you — to express yourself creatively, expand your social horizons, and generate more prosperity.

The Ace of Pentacles — like all Aces — represents the start of something new, and in this case it happens to relate to money. As in new financial opportunities coming your way. While you probably won’t see a windfall, it’s a positive affirmation that you’re putting your energy into the right areas.

You may have recently gotten a raise, started a new job or become the benefactor of someone else’s generosity. You could also be starting to see returns on your earlier investments. Either way, you should have more opportunities and more financial resources at your disposal than you’ve had in recent days.

You may also feel that your luck is changing. As the Ace of Pentacles is associated with a change in fortune — a positive change as I also see Aces as “Yes” cards — as long as the “yes” answer is a positive affirmation. It’s telling you to keep up the good work, to go after your dreams, and to be open to all that the Universe has to offer you.

In this rendition of the card we see bright golden stars super-imposed over infinite overlapping smaller stars. There’s also a golden tree whose vast roots and limbs spread out across the tiny villages that are sprinkled among the stars. If you look closely you can see homes, trees, mountains, lakes and even people in there.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Apr 3, 2014 — the Devil

the Devil

The Devil

Today you may need to take an honest look at some of your own imperfections and projections as a means toward healing something that has caused you pain.

The Devil is an archetypal figure that can take on many forms. He represents all of our own personal “shadow material,” i.e., all of the more sinister human attributes, such as anger, fear, jealousy, rage, manipulation, etc.

These are usually traits that we don’t see within ourselves but rather project onto others. In this respect the Devil can take on the form of an antagonist or enemy, or our own personal “boogeyman.”

You could unwittingly conjure up this archetype via the Sun / Pluto square today. This aspect correlates astrologically to the Devil archetype through bringing power struggles and ruthlessness to the forefront.

Feeling betrayed, used, bullied, deceived or unfairly judged: these are all possibilities within the realm of the Devil. The sense of futility, unfairness and feeling powerless are common experiences.

If you look at the imagery in this card, you can see that the Devil is wrestling with his own fantastic beast. He also clearly has the upper-hand. But how hard would it be for the beast to wrench himself away, knock the Devil to the ground and fly off and out of reach?

Free Daily Tarotscope — Apr 2, 2014 — Seven of Pentacles

Seven of Pentacles

Seven of Pentacles

This would be a good time to step back and re-evaluate all you’ve put into something as a means of determining your next move. Do you proceed as planned? Change directions? Or throw in the towel and start all over again?

The Seven of Pentacles speaks of needing the patience and discipline to see something through, but can also trigger feelings of disappointment or frustration over that something taking too long to produce results.

That also brings in the potential that as those results develop they turn out to be not what you thought you wanted in the first place. You could be involved in a relationship that’s just not working out the way you hoped or a career-path that turns out to be unrewarding. You may be mid-way through a college degree and find yourself wondering if you should change majors, or moving half-way around the world and realizing you’re homesick.

The Seven of Pentacles — like all Sevens in the tarot — refers to delays, dilemmas and decisions that are not easy to resolve. It can represent a pause or a setback, a choice between disparate paths, or even a change in direction late in the game.

In this version of the card, the pentacles are etched with astrological glyphs that represent the seven visible “planets.” They’re attached to a tree that is half above and half below the surface, with the symbol for the earth (or world) in the center.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Apr 1, 2014 — the Fool

The Fool

The Fool

What would you be doing today if you had no plans, no responsibilities, and no worries?

The Fool card encourages you to consider the possibilities, no matter how impractical or far fetched they may be.

It’s a card of adventure, living in the moment and letting life take you where it may.

It speaks of innocence and fearlessness — fueled by faith in the Universe and probably a little luck. Notice the Fool waving us forward to accompany him on his journey, only moments away from falling over the cliff.

This is the first card in the tarot, numbered Zero. It’s the beginning of the Fool’s journey and refers to unlimited potential. He has all four elements (wand, cup, sword and pentacle) on his person and very little else.

There are references to both good luck (the rainbow, the butterflies, the symbols on his knapsack) and bad (the cliff, the black cat, the menacing grey clouds in the sky). And off in the distance — beyond the waterfall, kingdom and mountains — who knows what he will find at the end of the rainbow?
