January 2014 Monthly Horoscope

Happy Birthday Capricorn! Here are some highlights for the month ahead:

Lunations: There are two New Moons this month, both of them what are called “Super Moons.”

The first New Moon this month is on January 1 at 11° Capricorn. The second New Moon this month is on January 30th at 10° Aquarius.

This month’s Full Moon on January 15th will be at 25° Cancer.

Retrogrades: Jupiter is retrograde for the entire month. Venus is retrograde until January 31st, when it goes direct at 13° Capricorn.

Ingresses: Mercury moves into Aquarius on January 11th and into Pisces on January 31st. The Sun moves into Aquarius on January 19th.

This question is related to choosing between putting down roots after having a life full of travel and adventure and looking at the birth chart to see what is going on now and the transits which shall shortly hit the chart to glean insight into what is to happen next.

Our client “Mary” has written to ask about transitioning from the very rich and rewarding life she’s created for herself (seeing the world, traveling, volunteering and applying her skills to altruistic ventures in foreign lands, etc) to a more “normal” and settled existence back home.

Chrisalis takes a look at the current transits as they apply to Mary’s natal chart.

Her chart is full of freedom, excitement and new learning experiences and as Saturn comes closer to the natal node it shows what can occur within the person and around them.

Happy Birthday Sagittarius! Here are some highlights for the month ahead:

Lunations: The New Moon this month is on December 2 at 10° Sagittarius and the Full Moon is on December 17th will be at 25° Gemini. In some parts of the world, there will be a second New Moon this month, on December 31st at 10° Capricorn.

Retrogrades: Uranus is retrograde until Dec 17th, when it goes stationary direct at 8° Aries. Venus goes retrograde December 21 at 28° Capricorn. Jupiter is retrograde for the entire month.

Ingresses: Mercury enters Sagittarius on December 4th and Capricorn on December 24th. Mars enters Libra on December 7th. The Sun enters Capricorn on December 21st.

Jumping Jupiter! Another Planet Goes Retrograde!

Jupiter — the largest planet in our solar system is now retrograde.

Astrologically Jupiter is said to relate to benefit, gain and fortune. It’s the planet of abundance and extravagance; of philosophy, spirituality, travel, foreign affairs, personal expansion and higher education.

Your natal Jupiter will describe where you do things in a big way or the area of your life where you might go overboard. It’s where you’re naturally confident and optimistic and where things tend to come more easily to you.

When it retrogrades by transit, depending on the sign and area of your natal chart it’s moving through, you can expect to go through a bit of a renaissance, as you review, revisit and refine your own personal belief systems.

Lunations: There will be a New Moon Solar Eclipse on November 3rd at 11° Scorpio. The Full Moon will take place on November 17th at 25° Taurus.

Retrogrades: Jupiter goes retrograde November 7th at 20° Cancer. Mercury is retrograde until the November 10th when it goes stationary direct at 2° Scorpio. Neptune is retrograde until November 13, when it goes stationary direct at 2° Pisces. Chiron is retrograde until the 19th, when it goes stationary direct at 9° Pisces. Uranus is retrograde for the entire month.

Ingresses: Venus enters Capricorn on November 5th; the Sun enters Sagittarius on November 21st.

Happy Birthday Libra! Here are some highlights for the month ahead:

Lunations: There will be a New Moon on October 5th at 11° Libra. The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse will take place on October 18th at 25° Aries.

The New Moon completes an almost partile t-square between the Sun/Moon, Pluto and Uranus. This aspect is most pronounced between October 3rd and October 5th.

Retrogrades: Mercury goes retrograde on October 21st at 18° Scorpio. Chiron, Neptune and Uranus are all retrograde for the entire month.

Ingresses: Venus enters Sagittarius on October 7th; Mars enters Virgo on October 15th and the Sun enters Scorpio on October 23rd.

Keep your wits about you after the new moon eclipse on the 9th because shortly following this Venus enters your area of communication which may be giving you the impetus to speak up and speak up quickly in order to have your thoughts heard. As Venus rules love you can bet that what you have to say will influence your partner but if you put off communicating you may find that by the time Mercury also enters your area of communication on the 16th then your words may flow in a way more conducive to the other person hearing them. If you find yourself missing golden opportunities to speak what is on your mind then leave it till the last week of the month when Mercury, Venus ,Jupiter and the black moon Lilith all come into alignment… and hopefully this alignment will pave the way for a positive discussion in what has been troubling you.

April 2013 Monthly Horoscope

You should be in fine form this month, with five planets moving through your sign. The Sun aspects Venus and Jupiter on the 1st, paving the way for social and romantic opportunities. Remember that these require a lot more give and take than you’re probably used to: you’re going to have to curb some of those Arian impulses if you want to make the most of these aspects. Your relationship rulers come together on the 7th, followed by the New Moon in Aries on the 10^th. You’ve got so much potential here to start something new, or to revitalize a current connection. You’ll get the green light to “go for it” – whatever the elusive “it” may be – on the 13th. But the most powerful aspect for you this month occurs on the 17th when the Sun and Mars come together in your sign.These two planets are dignified in Aries: the Sun through exaltation and Mars through rulership. Consider this an added Aries boon and use it as a springboard for success. You don’t have to prove anything to anyone, least of all you. But this month you’re able to show the world what you’re made of — and in doing so can surpass even your own expectations.

Soulmate Relationships: The Truth about Venus and Mars

There’s been a lot of press about the roles of Venus and Mars in soulmate relationships, but what exactly does that mean in the true astrological context?

Are these two planets the primary indicators of relationship compatibility, or are they just one small part of what makes up a good connection between partners?

Venus and Mars are actually relatively minor factors for determining relationship compatibility, and are rarely “karmic indicators.” They’re good for determining attraction (by sign) but little else.

They’re usually present when there are strong sexual sparks or chemistry at the onset of a relationship, but don’t say much about exclusivity, longevity or commitment.
