Justice

ARIES: Justice

You may be struggling with doing the right thing this month, or you may be trying to make a choice between right and wrong. Sometimes those choices aren’t clear — depending on whatever prerequisites you have in place for making those kinds of determinations.

The Justice card — this version from Jaen Tarot — is about having to live with the choices you make and being able to sleep at night once you’ve made them. This requires an ability to balance the pros and cons of a situation, which requires balancing your head and heart.

Notice that all of the figures in this card have their eyes closed. A small child rests over a giant sleeping fish, as a Madonna figure rises up from the mists of his dreams and watches over them.

The scale she holds in her hand is precariously balanced. Between head and heart. Need and desire. Right and wrong. If any of those were given more weight than the other, that balance would be lost and the quiet contentment disrupted.

The Justice card speaks of a universal justice, divorced from what you want or wish for, and held under the microscope of truth, wisdom and universal law. This means that no matter how desperately you want a specific outcome, the one handed down will be fair and just.

There are karmic repercussions inherent in this card. Whether it’s karma you’re sewing (doing the wrong thing even when you know it’s wrong) or karma that you’re reaping (having to face challenges that are a result of past misdeeds) know that in the end Justice does prevail. Keep that in mind so that you too can sleep at night, knowing that you’ve done the right thing.

Eight of Wands

ARIES: Eight of Wands

It may feel like things are moving very quickly for you this month, with your ruler (Mars) in Gemini and in mutual reception with Mercury.

The Eight of Wands — this version from the fabulous Gypsy Palace Tarot — refers to progress, mobility and rapid change, usually for the better. You could be bursting at the seams with new and fresh ideas, juggling interests or overseeing different projects that all seem to be nearing completion at the same time.

This card refers to being decisive, making the most of your time and cutting through whatever distractions stand in your way. There may be a lot going on around you — like the woman in the center of this card — but the Eight of Wands encourages you to remain focused and engaged in the task at hand.

Look at all of the swirling colors in this card. There’s a lot happening there — and certainly some distractions. But there’s also movement, creativity and energy which are hallmarks of this card.

This is also a networking card. It relates to exchanging ideas and interacting with like-minded people. Blogging, disseminating information, and expanding social horizons are all indicated.

Prince of Wands

ARIES: Prince of Wands

Mars (your ruler) has now moved into your sign. And what better card to depict that energy than the Prince of Wands — the Druid Craft Tarot’s version of the Knight of Wands? This card speaks of gathering up the courage and confidence that’s needed to go after your goals.

It may be a dream you’d set aside because you lacked the time, energy or resources to follow it n the past. It could be an interest that’s been calling out to you that’s no longer possible to resist. And it might be something (or someone) you’re passionate about that you’re only now in a position to pursue.

The Prince of Wands encourages you to move past your fears and go after your dreams with the attitude that nothing can stand in your way. You don’t want to waiver or second-guess yourself; you want to grab onto opportunities that present themselves without a moment’s hesitation.

This doesn’t mean you ought to go gallivanting across the countryside without a plan. Keep in mind the Prince of Wands can be a bit rash — in an act first and figure out how to get out of whatever predicament you’ve gotten yourself into later sort of way. Because he runs on adrenaline, he has a tendency to lose interest in anything routine.

If this is someone in your life, you will know him by his confidence and bravado. He may he here to teach you the importance of embracing some of these qualities yourself. But if instead this card represents an energy and attitude you already possess, keep in mind the importance of making preparations and pacing yourself so you don’t run out of steam.

The Prince of Wands is here to remind you that it’s a good time to dream big, challenge yourself and set your goals in motion. If you temper those goals with a enough discipline and perseverance, you may just see them manifest beyond your wildest dreams.

ARIES: The Source

What is it that you have been waiting for as father time ticks slowly by? With your ruler (Mars) retrograde for most of the month, you may be feeling like time is either moving backwards or standing still.

If you have a plan you’ve been wanting to put into action for a long time now is the time to break forth from your restrictions and see it through.

The images on this card — the Source (Temperance) card from the Tarot of Origins — are as if they are set in stone and this is how you may have been seeing things for a while yet there are also fertile images on this card… images that say new life is coming, a new beginning and it springs forth directly from your “Source.”

It is part of you, you are part of it and even though you may feel alone as if everything is “set in stone” you have people watching out for you.

Look at the two stone boulders on either side of the middle figure. To me they look like birds. Birds which have been sitting there for a long time until they also look as if they have been “turned to stone.”

Yet underneath them you can see the glorious nests they have fashioned into the rock face. Hues of blues and greens, patterns of mists and water showing that although time seems to have “stood still” it has not been idle.

As the waters break, it is as that which is “inside” pours forth and so too does that which is inside you. Look to any of these three figures and you will see new life within each. Images within images and all on the verge of springing forth into something new and exciting yet at the same time solid and dependable. Who will you be, what will your new direction when the cocoon breaks apart and the chrysalis transforms?

March 2016 Tarot Scopes by Chrisalis

Four of Wands

ARIES: Four of Wands

March is the month for honoring the relationships you have developed with loved ones and family members.

It’s a month for rejoicing and celebrating — whether this means planning for a party or special event, or getting yourself out of the doldrums and washing away the blues.

The Four of Wands — this version from the beautiful Tsigane Zigeuner / Gipsy Tarot by Walter Wegmüller — takes the “dream big” energy that came with the Three of Wands and turns it into something tangible, solid and lasting. It represents a joyous celebration, such as a marriage, a promotion, the birth of a child.

It tells you that “this is only the beginning” of something you’ve already established and that it’s bound to just keep getting better.

You may be planning a special event — one which will be way more fun than you are anticipating. You are likely to meet people, have fun, put your worries aside and focus instead on the promise of friendship, companionship and socializing.

This month is about expressing love and affection for those who are there for you even when the going gets tough. It’s about basking in the power of love — like the two bunnies in this card.

No matter what else you’re up against remember to be grateful for what you have. It’s not the time to isolate or withdraw from social opportunities. Look around you and take note of all you’ve accomplished thus far. Chances are good there’s a lot to be grateful for and a cause for celebration right there in front of you.

Temperance

Temperance

Today’s Sun / Neptune square may see you feeling like getting away from it all, or escaping into a world of fantasy and illusion.

There’s a nebulous quality associated with this transit that can manifest as feeling overly dreamy, romantic and idealistic. But it can also translate to a desire to escape — away from the cold harsh glare of reality.

Like the figure in this card — the Temperance card from the beautiful Ceccoli Tarot — you may find comfort and contentment in your dreams, where you can be one with the Universe and where all things are possible.

With the Sun in fiery Sagittarius and Neptune in ethereal Pisces, you may find yourself at odds between what you should do and what you’d much prefer to do. And while there is some “fire” in this card (the muted orange colors on the fish that are floating in the clouds), it’s clear that Neptune wins. There are Piscean fish symbols all over this card.

The Temperance card is associated with finding balance in your life and bringing the disparate areas back into harmony. And the Neptune / Sun square is tied to the dissolution of ego and boundaries. Both of these things are depicted in this card.

You may feel lacking in energy or motivation today, and if you can take some time to rest, then by all means do so. There’s a lot to be said for putting all your worries aside and floating off somewhere on a cloud of contentment.

Temperance

Temperance

Today’s card — Temperance from the Medieval Enchantment Tarot –– indicates a need to go with the flow and to find ways to bring the conflicting desires of your being back toward the center.

Today’s Sun trine Neptune should make that a little easier. The Sun / Neptune aspect is all about aligning yourself with higher spiritual realms.

The Temperance card speaks of searching within yourself for that wellspring of inner grace and finding a way to bring the good and bad, light and dark, happy and sad back in to balance.

This card is called “Art” in some decks. It speaks of the unique creative forces that each of us possess. It speaks of seeking out symmetry and harmony. And it speaks of integrating the opposing areas of your life into one big calm, peaceful and harmonious medium.

In what areas of your life are you too inflexible, too rigid and too unwilling to hear another’s point of view? Your challenge will be to overcome those impediments and to integrate the opposing forces in your life.

The Temperance card refers to bringing the opposing facets of your personality (or your relationships, or your desires) into alignment by finding the perfect middle ground. It represents peace and harmony, synthesis and equilibrium, moderation and restraint.

As you can see from the imagery in this card, nothing needs be sacrificed in attaining that balance. Just remember to rise above whatever situations in your life that are pulling you down, without rising so high that you neglect them or fail to take advantage of opportunities to learn from or grow from them.

What is it that you have been waiting for as father time ticks slowly by? Saturn trines the Sun today and as Saturn is in the last throes of its time in Scorpio and fully moves into Sagittarius it’s almost saying to you “get ready it’s time to act”.

Temperance

Temperance

Today’s card — Temperance from the Tarot of Pagan Cats indicates a need to go with the flow and to find ways to bring the conflicting desires of your being back toward the center.

Today’s Sun / Neptune and Mars / Chiron sextiles should make that a little easier. The Sun / Neptune aspect is all about aligning yourself with higher spiritual realms, and the Mars / Chiron aspect is about learning to surrender.

In this version of the card we see a beautiful white cat in a field of daffodils lounging near the edge of a stream. She pours the contents of a fishbowl — including its lone inhabitant, a goldfish — into the water. A brilliant rainbow sits high in the sky and is reflected in the rippling stream.

Her demeanor is calm and peaceful — almost trance-like — as if she’s mesmerized by the process. This is the essence of this card: there’s a calm and graceful symmetry in taking one’s time, going with the flow, and becoming one with all that surrounds you.

There may be truths that must be faced in order to achieve the equilibrium depicted in this card. There may be messages to deliver or mysteries to unravel or even dreams to be discarded, if you’re to reach the end of the rainbow and your heart’s desire.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Mar 24, 2015 — Swan

Swan

Swan

Mercury conjuncts Chiron today and Venus sextiles Neptune. These are both transformative and visionary transits, though in different ways.

The Mercury / Chiron conjunction refers to choosing our words wisely and compassionately, putting ourselves in someone else’s shoes, and being able communicate in a soothing and comforting manner.  The Venus / Neptune aspect speaks of the ability to express unconditional love, to find beauty in everything, and to conduct ourselves with harmony and grace.

What better card to illustrate the qualities than the Swan (Temperance card) from the beautiful Animal Wisdom Tarot? As an animal totem, the Swan embodies all of these characteristics, and then some. Like beauty. Elegance. Purity. Transcendence. And hope.

This card is called the Angel of Alchemy in this deck. And it certainly looks like an angel. It’s beautiful wings are spread wide and welcoming and it’s snow white feathers glisten above the surface of the lake. It glides just inches above the water (feelings, emotions, the unconscious, etc.) — not so far removed that is detaches completely, but not so close that it allows itself to become immersed.

We could all take a page from the Swan’s book today in our dealings with others as well as the ways we treat ourselves. Getting just enough altitude to see things from a clearer perspective without neglecting what lies beneath.

The Temperance card refers to bringing the opposing facets of your personality (or your relationships, or your desires) into alignment by finding the perfect middle ground. It represents peace and harmony, synthesis and equilibrium, moderation and restraint.

As you can see from the glorious Swan in this card, nothing needs be sacrificed in attaining that balance. Just remember to rise above whatever situations in your life that are pulling you down, without rising so high that you neglect them or fail to take advantage of opportunities to learn from or grow from them.

Free Daily Tarotscope — Dec 12, 2014 — Balance

Balance

Balance

With Mercury in close contact with the Sun in Sagittarius today there is a need for balance and the possible need to reign in any actions that may get out of hand.

The dragons in this image are in perfect harmony and both balance the other perfectly like night and day. They arise from the base of the tree like kundalini energy illuminating what is around for you today.

Take note of the face underneath the tree. There is an ancient quality to this face which speaks of wisdom accumulated through life experiences and the ability to balance this wisdom in areas of your life without going overboard or holding back.

Mercury is also trining Jupiter today which while it gives you excellent communication skills it also may be that Jupiter throws this out of balance and more communicating is done than you first intended.

If this is the case or you feel as if you are going to say more than you wanted to then you need be clear in your own mind the parameters of any conversations otherwise you may put your foot in it which takes the balance of power from you in a situation and inadvertently gives it to the other person.

Remember there is wisdom around for you today. It is a wisdom that speaks of the past and what has gone before.

It is a wisdom that says you don’t need to act you can sit back planning and thinking your way through things. And if all else fails Jupiter is the planet of luck… so you can’t do much damage!

Temperance

Temperance

Today you want to work on achieving balance and harmony in all areas of your life.

The Temperance card refers to bringing the opposing facets of your personality (or your relationships, or your desires) into alignment by finding the perfect middle ground.

It’s about symmetry, synthesis, equilibrium, moderation and restraint.

The little lamb in this version of the card is equipped with golden fleece and angels’ wings. He stands at the based of a pool of water, pouring water from one receptacle to the other, never missing a beat.

Notice he has one foot in the water (the realm of emotions) and one on solid ground (earthly matters and mundane affairs).

The Sun shines brightly in the background, giving breath to the meadows and the daffodils growing around him. But you can’t tell if it’s rising or setting: it’s midway between the horizon and the heavens.

Similarly, today’s Pisces Moon is midway between two planets: Neptune and Chiron. The soft, gentle, flowing energy found in the Temperance card is repeated through this transit.

There’s a calm, tranquil energy expressed through the imagery in this card. It encourages us to stay centered and not tilt too much in one direction or the other.
