We start the week (on Sunday) with a lovely Mercury / Venus sextile which is good for communications and interacting with others. This aspect is both loving and harmonious; it’s a good time to express your feelings, whether those are romantic in nature or are born of a desire to let others know that you admire and appreciate them.
Just after the sun goes into Aquarius right on a New Moon on January 20, 2015 we are visited again (on the 21st) by that pesky little thing known as Mercury turning retrograde.
This time it is in Aquarius which is the sign of geniuses as that lightening quick energy of Uranus (Aquarius’ ruling planet) mingles with Mercury (planet of communication).
You can imagine many things can go wrong with the combination of Mercury retrograde in Aquarius and you are not far off the mark there.
Be prepared for thoughts just hitting you out of nowhere and then be prepared for feeling frustrated in not being able to follow them up.
You might also want to give some thought to electrical gadgets going haywire and making sure that everything is in tip top shape so no further damage can be done.
Personally, I like the sound of Mercury retrograde in Aquarius.It should bring out some plans that are about your future, allow you to see things from different angles that you may not usually take into consideration and also not keep you as heavily bound down as some of the other signs Mercury could’ve turned retrograde in.
Aquarius is an air sign and Mercury usually does pretty well when travelling through air signs as they rule communication, thinking and ideas.
Mars moves into Capricorn on October 26, 2014 at 10:42 UT (or 6:42 ET), where it will remain until December 4, 2014 when it moves into Aquarius.
Mars transits bring action and energy to the area of a natal chart where the transit occurs. It also affects planets in a natal chart that it forms aspects to, which are in turn influenced by the sign placement (in this case Capricorn) as well as the house Mars is placed in and rules in the natal chart.
For those born with Mars in Capricorn, this transit marks what’s called a “Mars return.” This will occur at some point during the current transit through Capricorn, between Oct 26, 2014 – December 4, 2014.
As Mars — natally and by transit — refers to what we’re passionate about as well as what we’re instinctually compelled to do, this transit emphasizes the Capricorn inclinations toward tradition, ambition and success, which is generally earned through hard work and over time.
Mars in Capricorn people often have a more serious, soulful, old-school quality about them which can manifest in a variety of ways — all within the parameters of the Capricorn archetype.
