Venus in Aries — Feb 3, 2017 – Apr 2, 2017

Venus enters Aries February 3, 2016 at 15:51 UT (or 10:51 am EST). Due to an upcoming retrograde, and with respect to the features of this particular synodic cycle, it will actually remain in Aries until Jun 6th — aside from a 3-week retrograde back into Pisces in April.

Venus is said to be in detriment in Aries, as it is the sign that opposes Venus’ natural ruler, Libra. Traditional or Classical astrology places a lot more emphasis on planetary detriments as they are seen as significant in Classical practices.

There are said to be some disadvantages to having a planet in detriment, usually due to societal norms and expectations rather than any deficit in the archetype itself. But there are also a lot of wonderfully unique attributes associated with this placement as well.

If you happened to have been born with Venus in Aries, you’re probably known as someone who is exceptionally passionate and ardent when it comes to matters of the heart. Venus in Gemini people are charming and flirtatious. They’re playful, light-hearted and charismatic with a natural appreciation for the give-and-take that goes hand-in-hand in any relationship. They’re insatiably curious, wanting to know everything there is to know about the people they’re interested in, and as long as there’s always something left to learn that interest doesn’t wane.

But since Gemini is a mutable sign, there’s also a tendency toward restlessness and boredom. They like to keep things moving and to not get bogged down in tedium or routine. They’re easily distracted and require a lot of mental and verbal stimulation in order to maintain their interest.

Venus enters Taurus May 29, 2014 at 1:45 am UT (May 28, 2014 at 9:45 pm EDT). Venus is exalted in Taurus, meaning that it is in its own ruling sign, that it’s comfortable in that sign, and that it is likely to express its highest most powerful vibration there.

If you were lucky enough to have been born with this placement, you probably have a natural appreciation for the beauty and the arts, for love and romance, and for anything that stimulates the 5 senses: a breath-taking sunset for example, a soft ocean breeze, a haunting melody, fine wine, gourmet foods, exotic spices, fragrant flowers, etc. The list goes on and on.
