Lunations: There are two Eclipses this month.

The first is a total Lunar (full moon) Eclipse on April 15 at 25° Libra.

The second is an Annular Solar (New Moon) Eclipse on April 29th at 8° Taurus.

Retrogrades: Pluto goes retrograde on April 14th at 13° Capricorn. Mars (in Libra) and Saturn (in Scorpio) are retrograde for the entire month.

Ingresses: Venus enters Pisces on April 5th. Mercury enters Aries on April 7th. The Sun enters Taurus on April 19th. Mercury enters Taurus on April 23rd.

Planetary Configurations: This month a Cardinal Grand Cross — involving Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter and Mars — moves into position and perfects on April 22nd.

Venus in Aquarius — Mar 5, 2014 – Apr 5, 2014

Venus enters Aquarius on March 5th at 8:02pm UT (4:02pm EST). Aquarius is the natural ruler of astrology’s 11 house — the area associated with friendships, group involvements and humanity in general.

If you were born with Venus in Aquarius, you probably consider yourself a bit of a rebel when it comes to love. You enjoy your independence and like to maintain a large circle of friends from all walks of life. You’re drawn to intelligent, independent and open-minded partners who test the boundaries of conventional mores.

You may be a bit eccentric, especially regarding matters of the heart. You see yourself as impervious to social expectations and may even like to shock others with your relationship choices.

Aquarius is co-ruled by Saturn (traditional ruler) and Uranus (modern ruler). As such, there are some Venus in Aquarius individuals who are more “Saturnine” — conservative and traditional. A lot depends on the aspects Venus makes and the relative strengths of both Saturn and Uranus in the natal chart.

For the most part though, Venus in Aquarius people are more Uranian in nature. They tend to live in their heads rather than in their bodies (or their hearts) and can seem emotionally disconnected.

The first New Moon is on March 1 at 13° Pisces. The second New Moon on March 30, is at 9° Aries.

This month’s Full Moon on March 16 will be at 26° Virgo.

Retrogrades: Mars goes retrograde on March 1 at 27° Libra. Saturn goes retrograde on March 2 at 23° Scorpio. Jupiter is retrograde until March 6, when it turns direct at 10° Cancer.

Ingresses: Venus moves into Aquarius on March 5th; Mercury moves into Pisces on March 17th; the Sun moves into Aries on March 20th; and the lunar nodes cross into Libra / Aries on the 22nd.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

This month we’ve joined forces with Fiona Beck, tarot reader, relationship counselor and author of Relationships: What you Need to Know, to offer a special low-cost Valentines Day email reading promo.

We’re offering two packages — one for singles and one for couples — for $50 each. The first package — for singles — includes an astrology assessment and a tarot assessment.

The astrology assessment — via Ask the Astrologers — includes your natal chart, a computerized natal astrology report (approximately 8-10 pages, around 3000 words) and a page or so of personal insights (300-500 words) into specific areas of your natal chart that outline your strengths and weaknesses as well anything that stands out or that you should be made aware of.

This portion will be different for each person, but will likely include insights your natal “love planets” (Venus and Mars), your needs (the Moon) and your relationship house and rulers.

The tarot assessment — via Fiona Beck — includes a six-card reading that looks into your past, your current situation, where you’re heading now, what you can do improve your life, obstacles that stand in your way and the potential outcome. Happy Birthday Aquarius! Here are some highlights for the month ahead.

Lunations: There will be no February New Moon! This 28-day month gets squeezed in between the Aquarius New Moon at the end of January and the Pisces New Moon at the beginning of March. This month’s Full Moon will be on February 14th and 26° Leo.

Retrogrades: Venus has been retrograde for the last 41 days, but turns stationary direct at 14° Capricorn on January 31 / February 1. Mercury goes retrograde on February 6th at 3° Pisces and goes direct on Feb 28 at 18° Aquarius. Mars also stations on February 28 at 28° Libra. Jupiter is retrograde for the entire month.

Ingresses: Mercury — still retrograde — moves back into Aquarius on February 12th, and the Sun moves into Pisces on February 18th.

Lunations: There are two New Moons this month, both of them what are called “Super Moons.”

The first New Moon this month is on January 1 at 11° Capricorn. The second New Moon this month is on January 30th at 10° Aquarius.

This month’s Full Moon on January 15th will be at 25° Cancer.

Retrogrades: Jupiter is retrograde for the entire month. Venus is retrograde until January 31st, when it goes direct at 13° Capricorn.

Ingresses: Mercury moves into Aquarius on January 11th and into Pisces on January 31st. The Sun moves into Aquarius on January 19th.

Ask the Astrologers: When Saturn Comes to Call

This question is related to choosing between putting down roots after having a life full of travel and adventure and looking at the birth chart to see what is going on now and the transits which shall shortly hit the chart to glean insight into what is to happen next.

Our client “Mary” has written to ask about transitioning from the very rich and rewarding life she’s created for herself (seeing the world, traveling, volunteering and applying her skills to altruistic ventures in foreign lands, etc) to a more “normal” and settled existence back home.

Chrisalis takes a look at the current transits as they apply to Mary’s natal chart.

Her chart is full of freedom, excitement and new learning experiences and as Saturn comes closer to the natal node it shows what can occur within the person and around them.

Mars moves into Libra on December 7, 2014 at 20:41 UT (3:41pm EST). Mars is in detriment in Libra, as the polarity point of the sign it naturally rules, Aries.

What this means is that it’s not comfortable in Libra, as the diplomatic, peace-loving Libran archetype is strained when filtered through the Martian natural aggressive, dynamic energy.

With that said, there are many Mars in Libra natives who handle this energy beautifully: they epitomize grace and charm, like Nicole Kidman, Bill Clinton, Anderson Cooper and Prince William; they know how to make people laugh, Whoopi Goldberg, Jimmy Fallon, Sarah Silverman, Fran Drescher, Seth Rogen, Jason Alexander and Will Ferrell; and they know how to use their unique talents, skills and voices to appeal to the masses, like J.K. Jumping Jupiter! Another Planet Goes Retrograde!

Jupiter — the largest planet in our solar system is now retrograde.

Astrologically Jupiter is said to relate to benefit, gain and fortune. It’s the planet of abundance and extravagance; of philosophy, spirituality, travel, foreign affairs, personal expansion and higher education.

Your natal Jupiter will describe where you do things in a big way or the area of your life where you might go overboard. It’s where you’re naturally confident and optimistic and where things tend to come more easily to you.
