Venus in Scorpio — Oct 23, 2014 — Nov 16, 2014

Venus enters Scorpio on October 23rd, 2014 at 20:52 UT (8:52pm ET). Venus is said to be debilitated in Scorpio, as it is the sign opposite its natural ruler (Taurus). Venus in Scorpio is said to be in its fall.

There are some disadvantages to having a planet in “fall” or “detriment,” due more to societal norms and expectations than anything else. As such, Venus is not particularly comfortable in Scorpio, where the naturally romantic, self-indulgent, partnership-oriented archetype struggles to express itself through the intense, passionate, all-or-nothing Scorpionic filter.

Even so, there are a lot of wonderfully unique attributes associated with this placement, as evidenced by some of the examples listed herein.

Venus enters Libra on September 29, 2014 at irgo on September 5, 2014 at 20:52 UT (8:52pm ET). Venus is Libra’s natural ruler, and is thus happiest and most comfortable there (along with Taurus, the sign it co-rules, and Pisces, the sign of its exaltation).

Venus in Libra is all about peace, love and understanding. It’s about compromising and accommodating the needs of others in order to preserve harmony and balance in our lives.

This extends to relationships of course, as Venus is the “love” planet and Libra is the relationship and partnership sign.

When Venus enters Libra, relationship issues come to the forefront, no matter what sign it’s in in our own natal charts.

We find ourselves dealing with relationship issues, which come to the forefront at this time and provide us with the opportunity to work out the kinks in them.

While this most often refers to romantic relationships, it can extend to business partnerships as well.

Mars in Sagittarius

Mars moves into Sagittarius on September 13, 2014 at 21:57 (or 5:57pm ET), where it will remain until October 26, 2014, when it moves into Capricorn.

Mars transits bring action and energy to the area of a natal chart where the transit occurs. It also affects planets in a natal chart that it forms aspects to, which are in turn influenced by the sign placement (in this case Sagittarius) as well as the house Mars is placed in and rules in the natal chart.

By transit, Venus brings emphasis to these areas of your life — for better or worse, depending on the sign, house placement and relationship the transit forms to planets in your natal chart.

In general Venus transits are favorable. They’re sociable, cooperative and harmonious. They can bring in a new romantic interest or reignite a spark with someone you already have history with.

Venus in Gemini people are charming and flirtatious. They’re playful, light-hearted and charismatic with a natural appreciation for the give-and-take that goes hand-in-hand in any relationship. Mercury Retrograde June 2014

Venus enters Taurus May 29, 2014 at 1:45 am UT (May 28, 2014 at 9:45 pm EDT). Venus is exalted in Taurus, meaning that it is in its own ruling sign, that it’s comfortable in that sign, and that it is likely to express its highest most powerful vibration there.

If you were lucky enough to have been born with this placement, you probably have a natural appreciation for the beauty and the arts, for love and romance, and for anything that stimulates the 5 senses: a breath-taking sunset for example, a soft ocean breeze, a haunting melody, fine wine, gourmet foods, exotic spices, fragrant flowers, etc. The list goes on and on.

A client, we shall call Jane, asks on her 2 year strong relationship which ended suddenly in April.

She suspects Mars retrograde is the culprit and I agree this may have played a part but there were some other astrological players at the same time which continue to weave their way through both her and his charts.

With the overall energy of Mars retrograde and the other transits which were also going on during this time you can get an idea of how looking at both birth charts gives an invaluable understanding of what else may be hidden under the surface, how long it will last for and what you can do to lessen the impact upon yourself.
